Description of Work: Last winter raccoon destroyed my screened porch door. I asked my husband to fix it. He removed the door and said it was fixed I decided I needed a handyman and remembered Angie's Snap fix app. I took a picture of my missing door and sent it in. I was immediately contacted by Angie's List and told to expect a call from Steve Murray. He agreed to replace the door. I immediately wrote a list of everything that I have wanted repaired for the last five years. I met with Steve and gave him my list. He gave me a ballpark figure for each item and explained that any project may uncover more serious problems. He replaced the screen door, hung closet doors in our rental unit and tried to fix a leak in the fireplace. He added a sweep on the door to the porch to keep out cold air and installed weather stripping on the front door. He grouted our bath tub and replaced 30 year old faucets which were leaking. He also installed a new switch for a ceiling fan and accent lights (I was using a bottle opener to turn on and off the fan). Steve built and installed a vent attachment for my gas cook top exhaust. For the last 5 years I had to put a dish towel over the vent during the winter to keep out frigid air. His most expensive job was buying and installing a new steel front door for our rental unit - $700. The door was not a standard size and required him to change the header for the door. It was very labor intensive. The fireplace was still leaking in a heavy rain so he put a heavy trash bag over the chimney cap to see if that was the problem. We are waiting for the next big rain and hoping that the cap, not the roof, is the problem. Steve will return next spring to install a new screen panel on the porch (more raccoon damage) and either clean my high ceiling windows or find someone to do it. Steve Murray is a great guy who will fix your problem or find someone who can. This experience has been wonderful and well worth the money. You cannot go to the yellow pages or google and find a reliable handyman. Thanks to Snap Fix I did. I highly recommend Steve to anyone and truly look forward to using him well into the future.
