King Green

I've been using their service for many years until I sold my house and I like them. Sometimes I need to call them back to do the work again and it was okay for them.

Requested a quote from King Green when looking for lawn service (weed control and fertilization). They showed up, did a quick inspection (guy walked the yard for literally 3 minutes, tops), and left the quote on the door. They identified some weeds, but not as many as another company that also gave us a quote. The estimate King Green provided was almost $20 more per visit than what the other company quoted ($52 vs. $35, and the difference gets larger when AL discount and company discounts get subtracted from the other company's offer). Obviously the distance from Gainesville was a bit too much for them. Needless to say, went with the other company.

They've been excellent! They call beforehand and follow-up. My lawn looks great and I've never had any problems! They've also been incredibly nice, too.

They have performed two services to date and have done everything they committed to in a timely and professional fashion. The proof will come this summer when we'll see how good a job they have done with the crab grass and weeds as well as how well the grass and shrubs do. So far so good.

I have been working with this firm for approximately 2.5- 3 years, using it for their "7 step" fertilzation and maintenance program. Pricing at $40 a clip is fair and they do come out and make applications as advertised. Also have used this firm for the past couple or three years to aerate and overseed my lawn in the fall. I have fescue grass which has its plusses and minuses in this climate. The great thing about fescue it is is maintained is the rich color in the fall, winter, and early spring. Downside is the occurence of brown patch and other diseases it manages to get in the summer. Additionly, the hot weather will make it wilt unless watered properly and sufficiently. Despite having a company such as King Green, this will NOT stop the latter. My yard has managed to suffer greatly each of the last several summers; last summer, I think I lost about 1/2 of my back yard. However, it did come back to a large extent this fall with overseeding, though there are still some pathes of no growth. This brings me to the problem with King Green: This fall, they came out and overseeded initially (broke a pot on my front porch as they were doing so, though they did kindly reimburse me for such). 3 weeks later or so, I called them and said the germination was marginal and asked for a redo. They again touched up and added more seed. Yet, there are still spots that are patchy and I have personally went to Home Depot at least 4 times and have spent about $150 more on fesuce seed to redo what has already been seeded twice (this includes one more time yesterday, 1-13-13. The point is that I shouldn't have to go to this trouble to attempt to have complete coverage and fill-in of bare spots. A really top service company should have realized after the second time out that they should monitor the lawn and take appropriate action and save me the $150 in extra seed and the corresponding effort. They do seem to specialize in sending out invoices; if their service was as great as they claim, THEY should be sending people out to check and review their handiwork. I get tired of calling service providers. I will note that this company is friendly and kind when I do speak with them, but I've concluded that I shouldn't have to call and complain if they were sending workers on drive bys to check the lawn performance, especially since I already called and mentioned the issue once. Overall, I can't say my lawn is any better than it was 3 years ago before engaging them. Not really any worse on the other hand. BUT, I have been paying money for the service and for that I should only be writing great things. Just be prepared as to what you can exect. They aren't crooks or con artists, but I do questions why I am spending money for something I can do cheaper by going to Home Depot and buying seed and fertilizer and doing it myself.

I always thought I had zoysia grass but the King Green representative showed me that I had centipede grass -- and that it doesn't require very much treatment (maybe once a year if any at all). A previous company that performed Lawn Fertilization & Treatment for me never said anything like that to me. In fact they came out very 3 months to put fertilzer down and weed killer. The King Green rep could've just given me a quote and I would've been happy, but instead he was honest and told me that I didn't need it for the type of grass in my yard. He said he'd be glad to service my lawn if I wanted but said I would just waste money. Very honest company!

.I have used King Green for years to keep the weeds out of my grass and keep it healthy and to keep my shrubs/bushes healthy. They do a good job. When I called about moss invading my back yard grass, they had someone spray it. The chemical killed everything as if it was Roundup. I had my son's graduation parties coming up so they sent two guys out to re-sod a pretty good size area of my back yard at their expense. They are always nice and friendly and this told me that they do the right thing when they need to (took a little bit of prodding and I did have to locate the sod after they said they couldn't find it), but they did it and the area looked pretty for my parties. I would definitely recommend King Green for my lawn/bush treatment needs!

Everything always goes well. In fact, the only way I know they have been to the house is when they leave a bill on the door.

Hired them for overseeding and ended up using them for weed control. They are great!

When I called King Green for a quote I was told it would be 2 - 3 business days before someone would be able to come out. I asked that someone call before they came out so I could be there. About 48 hours after making the call I received a call from someone with King Green saying they would be at my house in about 5 - 10 minutes. It was sprinkling rain all day the day they came out and I was working in my home office waiting on them to show up. More than an hour later I gave up on them ever showing up, however while exiting the side door in my house which leads into the garage I found a bag haning from the doorknob with a piece of paper from King Green. It had a few items checked and a quote for more than 41% higher than my current service provider which is well known national company as compared to another highly rated Angie's List member which gave me a quote for the same services for nearly 25% LESS than my current provider. A few things struck me about my experience with King Green. One, I asked to be called in advance of the meeting so I could be there to talk to the person coming out, and by advanced I didn't mean 5 - 10 minutes, maybe I should have told them what I meant but I thought that was obvious. Two, the guy that called DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER to ring the bell knock on the door or otherwise try to get someone in the house so they would know he was there. Three, Instead of coming to my front door and leaving the quote the man entered my garage (maybe I should close my garage door more often) and left the quote on the door inside the garage that leads inside the house, something I find VERY unprofessional. Four, the guy have me a quote for 41% higher than a well know national company without even checking with me to see what I wanted. Five, the company never followed back up with me to check on my experience or to see if I had any questions. I would have written this off as just one bad apple in the bunch of technicians/sales people had the company follwed up with me after the quote. Maybe they have plenty of business and don't need mine but I would NOT recommend them, nor would I ever consider them again in the future.

I think they are fine. I switched from another company.

My lawn looks green and has no weeds. I had a great experience with King Green. I've used them for 7 years.

I utilize the team at King Green to handle all of my lawn care needs. The team at King Green does a fantastic job in keeping our lawn healthy at a very competitive price. The team does several treatments a year and I will continue to use them in the future.

I used King Green for about 1 1/2 years. They offer competitive pricing and results were ok. I had an incident whereby my new installed fence fence and cedar playset were both stained by the technician who lazily sprayed weed killer all over the place. King Green was able to clean up the fence, but the playset has permanent stains I'll have to try to correct myself. Additionally, the same technician burned parts of my lawn with poorly spread fertilizer. I asked that this technician not treat my lawn anymore, but 3 months later he was back. I subsequently discontinued service. Customer service is pleasant, but just too many issues with performance.

Will have to wait until spring to be certain but I can tell now they knocked out the crabgrass.

They did a good job. They were very professional, and I was pleased with what they did.

Have been using them for about 6 months now and definitely see an improvement in my grass and weed control. After the first application, I called and asked them if they could notify me prior to future applications so we can keep our dog in the house to limit his exposure to the chemicals. They have called the day before each time. Everyone I have worked with there has exhibited great customer service and their prices are as good as I have found.

King Green came out and gave a price, I accepted and agreed to start the service. Technician came out on schedule and on time, treated the yard. Then I never saw or heard from them again. I got what I paid for, just didn't get what I wanted.

They did a good job and I will continue to use their services in future.

King Green has provided my lawn fertilization and insect control for several years and I have been extremely pleased. I get many compliments on my yard (it was full of weeds when I moved in) and they have always been very responsive to my requests as well as very pleasant to work with. My insect control has been wonderful. Other than the very first application several years ago when they came in the house as well as treated outside, I have never needed them to re-treat inside although they ask every time. I have been approached by other companies who may be a little lower in cost but I have seen samples of some of the yards they treat and I will stay with King Green. I highly recommend this company. The people are great and their service is great.

We have a service contract with them. We don't really have any interaction with them. They show up and do the job. We don't have anything negative to say about them.

From start until now(still in progress) everything has been above board and done properly. No complaints.

The service has gone well fromt he beginning. We will continue to use the service.
