Very good job

It went great! I did not need a roof after all, but I met a new friend in Peter from Matt's Roofing.

We had a great experience with Matt's Roofing. We had a very professional and informative sales session which resulted in a comprehensive estimate with several options for our consideration. Once confirmed, the plan was executed on time and as promised. We couldn't be happier with the result and the communication throughout the process.

Excellent job on complex roof on historic home. Roof included multiple ridges and valleys, dormer, chimneys, and porches. Also tear off of 3 layers of existing shingles (including bottom layer of original cedar shakes). Half of job included new decking on home. Also, repairs to dormer siding and some porch roof repairs from prior water damage. Crews were professional and courteous. Probably not the least expensive roofer, but a good value for the money. We trusted that they could handle the special challenges of this particular job, and we think that we have a sound roof that will last for many, many years.

Much like the previous review of this company Matt's Roofing and Gutters left me hanging. Must have something to do with Alabama customers. After seeing reviews on here I called to get an estimate for preventative maintenance. Matt showed up on time and called when he was on his way like was requested so everything started well. Upon his arrival a thunderstorm moved in which hampered things a bit. He finally did get on the roof while there was a light sprinkle still coming down and looked around. He did take some pics with his phone of the gutters showing me what he was seeing. I was a little uneasy from the get go because the first thing he asked or started to talk about was if we had any hail storms and who my insurance was with. No one in my neighborhood has had any roofs replaced due to hail and if they had I think I would have had mine looked into. Gave me the feeling he was more trying to sell a new roof on a 9 year old home. Anyway he gave me a quote with two different options and offered a 10 % angies list discount which is not offered on this site on his page by the way so how am i to know he is not jacking the initial price up knowing the "real" price will be 10% less. Also a concern was he was wanting to seal the gutter corners but not clean the gutters. They only have some grit in them from the roof but he told me they would clean the matierial from where they are making the repairs but nowhere else which to me speaks of doing just enough to get the job done but not doing it right. Also where he put the ladder on the home he bent down the edges of two shingles which he was not going to fix had I not asked him to again attention to detail. This however is also where the real fun begins. That night as I am going to take a shower I look up at my skylight and notice where someone has taken their hand and wiped the skylight while it was wet. It looked like crap from the inside. Giving the benefit of the doubt that he might not have realized wiping a wet dirty skylight would cause this I called and left a voice mail asking him or someone else come back out and wipe it down to even everything out. The next morning I called both the office and Matt himself and was told that they would indeed correct the issue and since we had plans for the day would call when on the way as I wanted to be present when they were on my roof. Everyone I spoke with with the exception of the service tech who came out seemed annoyed that I was even asking. Matt and I exchanged some texts that morning prior to the tech coming out about the maintenance as I was still considering using them at this point. I explained to him that I take alot of pride in my home as I would guess most angies list customers do and was a bit of a perfectionist. I explained that I wanted a contractor that took pride in their work and would treat my home as it was their own. He told me he would email me an updated quote adding the additional items we discussed. Once the tech came out and wiped down the skylight I never heard from them again. I sent texts and called and left voicemails as well. So much like the previous negative review this company just left me hanging. I guess this company did not want to work for a customer who cares about their home and its appearance. If I could get on the roof and wipe the skylight off myself I would have but have no means to get up there. Apparently me wanting our home to look nice for out company and not have an embarrasing half wiped skylight annoyed this company to the point they did not want to do the maintenance anymore. Dont be fooled by the fancy slogans and webpages folks. After the skylight was wiped not one text, call or voicemail was returned by Matt who left his personal number on this site by the way. I did miss a call from his number Sunday morning which I am guessing was more of an accidental call back as I both immediately left both a voice mail and text and never again recieved any response.Is it too much to ask for a roofing contractor to take the care of my home as I would if I had the means to do the work? Lots of red flags here folks. Beware. If they think you might hold their work accountable they will leave you hanging * After reading the response from the Provider you should be able to make an easy choice to use them or not. To clear up a few things. He chose not to "earn" my business because I asked him to come and fix something that he messed up during his estimate so buyer beware if you are going to question Matts roofing your not a wanted customer! I got his cell number as I stated in my report from this very website where he posted it on another complaint. I did not call his personal number until the next morning but did leave a voicemail on what I knew was his company cell that night so that he would get the info first thing in the morning and hopefully get someone or himself over first thing in the morning since we had plans for the day and I had to alter my plans to come back home so he could clean the skylight at "no charge" are you kidding me you want to charge me to clean the skylight your screwed up, okay

They are phenomenal! Matt is absolutely the best contractor I’ve ever worked with!! He runs an excellent crew. They are a very smart group of guys that work well with each other. Matt is incredibly professional and thorough! Overall, this is just an exceptional company!

Matt was very professional. They showed up when promised and did an excellent job. They cleaned up all debris. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the future.

it went great! a hard to find leak that was hiding around the chimney,but they found it. i was told step by step what was going until the job was done. job well done!

I decided to go with them on a Friday and they were out first thing on Monday. These guys are fast and efficient. I wish all contractors had their work ethic.

The experience was Great. The best thing about this project besides the excellent work was that I was in constant contact with Matt's Roofing & Gutters. I knew exactly what was going and I was confident that Matt's Roofing & Gutters would do an excellent job because I had checked their references. We had a couple of days of delay due to the heavy rains. The crew started on time and cleaned my property after the job was completed. I did go to the manufacturers website to get a clue what my new shingles on my roof would look like but the view was distorted. Matt's Roofing & Gutters came out to my house and showed me different samples. Besides getting new shingles for my roof, they replaced plywood in my roof that were bad, replaced the chimney cap, painted the PVC pipes coming through the roof the same color as the shingles, clean my gutters and installed gutter guards that I purchased. And lastly, they clean my property when they were finished. Yes, I do recommend Matt's Roofing & Gutters.

I had serious leaks in my roof and a lot of dead wood. I decided to use Matt's roofing for all of the jobs rather than hiring 3 contractors. The other contractors told me that everything but the roof would be subcontracted, This was not the case with Matt's Roofing. It was their trucks and people that did all of the work. I saved a little money by using one contractor and a lot frustration with each contractor blaming the other one. That has always been my past experience. The work was done when promised and within the price agreed upon. I have not had many positive experiences with contractors, but this was painless. A very professional company.

It was fantastic. The response time was terrific, and the job was done quickly and professionally.

They did a fabulous job. We needed the repair during a time when most roofers were busy with hail damage work. They fit us into their schedule and they brought an entire team out (including Matt!). They went straight to work, explained what was wrong and what needed to be replaced. The new flashing they used was of much higher quality than what we originally had. It's been over a year since the repair and not one drop of water has come down our chimney. Whenever we need another roof repair, a replacement or go to build a house, we will DEFINITELY use Matt's!

They were professional and they worked quickly to complete the project. Billing options should be discussed up front.

Matt came out Wednesday and gave me an estimate. We discussed the pros and cons of replacing the entire roof, but he felt that we could get 4 or 5 more years out of our current roof with the necessary repairs. I had received two other estimates and Matt was just a little over the lowest estimate. However, his knowledge, expertise and willingness to spend time explaining the process to me was enough to convince me he would be the wisest choice. I was not disappointed. He and his crew arrived on time today (two days after giving me the estimate), and were very professional. Matt surprised me by replacing the boots on all three of my plumbing vents, as well as fixing a hole at the top of a bay window that was allowing squirrels to get in to a small crawl space in the Spring and Fall. All of this was done at no additional charge to me. That extra touch meant a great deal to me. When the repairs were done, he told me that we had a two year guarantee on the repair. The other two contractors only offered a six-month guarantee. That gave me peace of mind.

They were anywhere form $800 - $1400 than the 5 other estimates we got. We ended up getting the job done for $3200. They came out really quickly, they were super professional and punctual, but for us it was just a price thing. The lady on the phone we spoke with and the guy who came out were both courteous. We were working with the insurance company because the damage was from hail.

Matt's Roofing did a fabulous job. From the initial estimate process, through the actual re-roofing job and follow-up, everything was terrific. I would use Matt's Roofing again if I needed to, and I would highly recommend Matt's to anyone in need of a new roof...you will not be disappointed!

My experience with Matt's Roofing went extremely well - I am a project manager on large, industrial jobs and am very familiar with specs, scope, and quoting. Matt delivered exactly what he quoted - his quote contained all factory information for the roof system we selected. Delivered materials matched the quote and everything was installed to factory specs - I confirmed with the factory training videos online. Matt's supervisor did a great job and the crew worked safe, organized and professional. They would sometimes discuss certain areas and issues VS rushing through the job. I appreciated they took the time to do the job right. The finished roof looked excellent, my invoice was exactly as quoted and Matt followed up several time to make sure we were happy with the work. I quoted Matt's Roofing against three other top-rated roofers in the area. Matt's price was the lowest with top-quality materials.

The inspection was handled in a professional manner, better than any other roofing contractors that I have used. I have not hired Matt to do the work, but I likely will.

I could not have been more pleased with the work that was done, and when finished, there was absolutely no debris left in my yard.
