My experience with Mr. Fred Carpinello was very satisfactory and pleasant. Both he and his son, who assisted him in the work, were very professional and courteous. He was timely with our initial appointment, as well as with emailing an estimate to me and on the day the actual work was done. He was thorough in explaining what the process could do, and made helpful suggestions on my choice of which finish to use. They carefully removed all of my furniture and replaced it after the floors had dried. The whole process only took a few hours. It was completely odorless and dust free. The cost was very reasonable, and I was also given an Angie's List discount. I would definitely recommend Mr. Carpinello to anyone wishing to have a job well done.

Called three other people about my floor issue. When installed the hard wood, bamboo floor, the installers finished late and could not see the horrible job they created with the glue on that floor. For three weeks, I tried everything possible. One company said the best thing was to remove the Bamboo floor completely and installed a new floor. He was shown the door. Others wanted to sand all the finish and replace the finish voiding the warranty of the wood. That was not an option. Called Buff and Coat, Fred assured me that he would take care of the problem. I could not believe my eyes when this man showed me the room, "like it never happened", ALL THE GLUE WAS REMOVED> I am very happy and the cost was better than others wanted. Thank you.

Fred Carpinello was extremely responsive and professional. He visited our home to determine an estimate, sent us the estimate by e-mail, responded quickly to our scheduling request, and arrived punctually on the scheduled day. He and his team transformed our dark, dull foyer oak flooring into something that looks really beautiful -- our expectations were greatly exceeded! The price was extremely reasonable for the time spent and quality of work that was done. We would definitely hire this company again.

I found Buff and Coat as I wanted someone to put in StareCasing on my stairs (remove carpet and replace with wood that is already stained) I found them on Angie's list and they had great reviews, so emailed Fred. He responded promptly and we set up a date to get an estimate. He was on time and very helpful, nice and knowledgeable. He gave us a few options and we decided to go with the StareCasing. He really wanted to make sure we were going to be happy, so called a few times to make sure of the color, to make sure it will match. He scheduled a time pretty quickly to get the work done and they got it done in a day. Our basement stairs had carpet and now they look lovely with the wood. They were on time, professional, cleaned up behind them. We will definitely use them again as we want to add wood in several rooms of the house. He said he can get it done in a day as they use a new sealer that dries quickly. YAY. I would recommend Buff & Coat.

I am winding down a major multiroom home remodel. Overall it has been quite painful and lots of problems. Fred, however, was the one part of this project which actually went well and as planned with no problems. It started with Fred coming to my home and seeing the old HW floors first hand. Fred took the time to talk with me, show me samples and explained the processes from start to finish. I felt very comfortable with Fred in that initial consultation and few follow up phone calls. I could tell that he was genuinely interested in making my home look better. Fred came out the night before the job to do some last minute look overs, verify a few things etc. I came home from work the day of the job and was blown away !!!!!!!!! What a difference from before and after. Fred did an awesome job and I would highly recommend him to anyone!!!!!!! Fred was informed, professional, knowledgable and he and his crew did a simply incredible job. He took care of everything including all cleanup. I simply can't recommend him enough. Thanks Fred !!!!!!!

Fred came out and looked at the floors and gave me an honest opinion about what would likely clean up nicely and what scratches and stains would likely not be removed. Based on the additional cost of sanding and staining, I went with the buff and coat. Fred called they day before to confirm the appointment. Fred and his crew arrived on-time, went right to work and were professional. They completed on time. I am very pleased with the results. They floors are 20 years old and had no finish left when I bought the home in 2001. They floors now look clean and have a nice satin finish on them, looking much better than when I moved in. I am very pleased with the work and wish I had it done long ago.

Fred Carpinello arrived on time and measured for an estimate. He explained how the procedure would go, what furniture they would move etc. He followed up with an official estimate by email. We set up a date and it was confirmed. Fred emailed me before to confirm again and arrived on time. He was there for the whole operation and had 3 others helping at different times. One helped with furniture moving, and floor prep and two others arrived for final coating. All went exactly as promised and the floors look great. There was no dust and the floor was ready to walk on within hours. We had this done right before we were leaving town so we did not put the furniture back right away. Fred came back after we returned and put the furniture back and fixed a couple little spots that were not his fault, but previously splintered areas. I would definitely use him again. Fred came out and gave me an estimate to refinish my kitchen floor, and told me that my entryway just needed a Buff and Coat treatment, which is to abrade the old finish on the existing floor, making it compatible for applying another layer of new finish. I agreed to the price, and picked out a stain color for the kitchen. The team came out as promised, and Fred put plastic tarp around all of the doorways and the cupboards. Antonio sanded the floor 3 times, applied the stain, then applied 3 coats of water-based polyurethane. They also stained and replaced all of the quarter round molding in the kitchen. There was very little mess. The floor looked beautiful, like new. The entryway was given the Buff and Coat treatment, which is to sand the floor smooth, then apply a polyurethane coating. The floor is parquet, and the sanding left some white marks where the floor had been uneven. I mentioned this to Fred at the time after the sanding, but he assured me that the polyurethane would cover it. When I checked it the next day after it was dry, it looked worn, with whitish lines and spots. I called Fred, who came out to look at the floor. He explained why the floor looked like it did, saying that the parquet floor had some uneven sections, and offered to have Antonio re-sand, stain, and refinish the floor at his cost. Antonio came back out and refinished the floor, sanding it and staining it to match the kitchen floor. It now looks beautiful. Fred went out of his way twice to deliver above and beyond usual customer service. Antonio is very skilled at what he does. I am now very happy with the two wood floors. They both look like new. I would highly recommend Fred and his Buff and Coat business.

I called Fred and he was able to come take a look at the floors right away. With this being the Buff and Coat's specialty, he was able to tell me we could definitely refinish these floors and give them new life. He gave me a good estimate, emailed it to me, got me on the schedule right away, and called the night before just to confirm (it's always nice to get that reminder/confirmation!). Fred and his crew of Antonio and Alex were working on our floor within two days of the estimate and did an excellent job from start to finish. He was very thorough in explaining to me what was being done and they kept our house very clean during the whole process. We had about 500 sq feet and they started at 8:30 and finished by 4:30. Perfect! Our floors look like NEW! It was so worth it! I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone! I am very pleased!

Frank arrived on time and commenced the job with 2 assistants. They removed the furniture, cleaned the floors of wax buildup, buffed and applied two coats of polyurethane finish. He returned on the following day to replace furniture.

Fred Carpinello came out, on time, to give me a quote on installation of wood floors. He was prompt and professional, listening to what I wanted and answering all my questions. The quote came as promised and after comparing it to my other quotes, was in line with my budget. I decided to go with Buff and Coat and do not regret the decision. From the start it was a smooth process. Fred and his team , including Antonio, showed up on time , and as reported by other reviewers, were very professional. They took care of everything. I liked the fact that Fred Carpinello was there the entire time checking to see if I was satisfied as the job went on. Once the installation was done they carefully put my furniture back and cleaned up completely. The floor looks amazing and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. One of the best compliments came from my neighbor , who recently had flooring installed, stating he wished he knew about Buff and Coat since my flooring installation looked so much better then his! I will not hesitate to call on Buff and Coat again, nor would I have any hesitation in recommending them to my friends. They truly take pride in their work and making sure the customer is happy with the final product.

We had a great experience! Our wood floors are older, and they redid the sections that really needed the attention. The final results look great, and I was very pleased with their service.

I really wasn’t pleased the first time they were here because within a few days the finish looked as bad as it had before. However, when I called them about this, the owner Fred Carpinello came back out at no charge. My floors looked fabulous when he was done. I think the fact that I have a gravel driveway and several dogs causes the finish to wear away quickly. The low traffic areas of my flooring still look good. Fred couldn’t have been more polite or willing to accommodate my request.
