Fred is very knowledgeable and professional. He worked with me to select grade of wood, type of wood etc. His price is also very competitive. The install went very well. I am happy with the result.

Fred and his crew did a phenomenal job restoring our 20 year old neglected hardwood floors. Their prices were more than fair, and they showed care throughout the entire project. I really can't imagine any part of this project being completed better than this crew. There are companies out there who are cheaper, and some that are more expensive. I'm fairly certain I got the best service you could ask for and could have easily spent double for it! Floors are good to go for 5 years when I will ask Fred to come back for a buff n' coat. Great Service, Great People, and Great Prices. Highly Recommend!

We were very pleased with the outcome of the floors. Everything looks uniform. They finished within the projected timeframe. They were also very neat, took care to protect things and there was minimal dust.

The finish was perfect. The floors look amazing. The staff were very prompt, professional, respectful, and courteous. We were informed during the entire process. We are extremely pleased with the results. We will use them for additional, future flooring projects, as their pricing is very fair.

Fred was extremely professional, punctual and knowledgeable of the flooring issues we were having. We had hired a different company initially to refinish the floors and they actually made it worse! Fred was recommended by a contractor, and he did not disappoint. He patiently explained the different options we had to bring the floors back to life and we are very pleased with the final result delivered. He was even able to identify and address some subfloor repairs that the previous installer had neglected. We will definitely recommend Fred and his team for any flooring needs!

His customer service and work were both outstanding. I called him on Wednesday, he came and gave me an estimate on Friday, and was onsite on the following Tuesday to do the work. We picked what we thought was the right stain, but after we left for work and he started staining he realized that the color was wrong. He made an on-the-spot decision to change color and match the existing floors, which was exactly the right call. I highly recommend him! He's a lovely man and his work ethic is of the highest standards.

Fred (the owner) was a delight to work with. He was very helpful in the decision of choosing the best stain and balusters to obtain the look we desired for our home. Fred and his team are highly professional, knowledgeable, conducts high quality work, efficient and a pleasure to work with. First I contracted Buff and Coat for buffing (not refinishing) my first level floors. Fred was quick to respond, accommodating, priced reasonably (actually, better than other quotes I received), and finished the work in one day. They did such a great job, that I didn't hesitate to call them back for installing new hardwood floors on the second level. They finished the job in 2 days, and went above and beyond to ensure that they don't cut corners, or do sloppy work. Highly recommended!

Excellent. Professional, flexible and reasonable priced. There were some complications which contractor skillfully work through with us. We had just bought the house, living out of state. We also had other contractors working on the property. Thus we needed the contractor to be flexible in scheduling. Fred was such. The upstairs had a wood installed in the hallway already. The newly installed wood floors in the remaining areas were perfectly woven into and stain to match. Every day, we enjoy the results.

Installation done in one day, quality work, great attention to detail, took old carpet away, great clean up when job was done... Highly recommend this company.

I seriously could not have asked for a better experience with this huge job than I received from Fred and his staff at Buff and Coat. I'm going to sound like a commercial for him because I can't sound any other way when I discuss my experience. First, Fred had a much better price than the other 2 companies that I had give me a quote - all 3 companies had great referrals but Buff and Coat's price beat them both so that's why we chose him. From the moment I contacted them until the finish of the the project - which all together was about 4 days there was nothing but amazing, fast, accurate, professional and friendly service from Fred and all of his staff. They were fast, efficient, neat, respectful of my home in every way, warm and friendly to me and my 3 young girls and even my dog - :-) They completely cleaned up every last piece of evidence of their work. The finished product was flawless. I will always recommend them to anyone who asks - and I already have - because they deserve the job. Great company, great price, great staff, great finished product - Thank you for everything!!

This company did excellent job sanding, stain, and re coating my oak floor. My two other quotes were $4000.00 and $3500.00 and said the job will take 6 whole days to finish, not able to sleep at home. The buff and coat finished in two days , we did not had to book hotel. The owner ( Fred) was there with his 3 men crew through out whole two days. They moved all furniture before and after exactly where they were and shoe molding job was better than previous one. Fred explained every step as they work so I can understand what they are doing. Job well done.

They showed up on time, went as described, and we were walking on the floor about 2 hours after they were done. Looks very good and a lit cheaper than a complete re-sand and re-finish, as that was all we needed.

It was good. Fred was knowledgeable and explained how to take good care of the floor. I am very happy with the end result and will definitely contact him in future when maintenance will be needed.

Fred answered the phone the first time I called him and he was able to answer my questions right then. He was very timely- I called him on Friday, he came on Sunday for the estimate, and the work was completed on Wednesday. He knew and respected my busy schedule, and was great about emailing and text messaging me with updates instead of playing phone tag with me. I had some black spots on my hardwood flooring from pet stains that I needed repaired/replaced. I got two other hardwood flooring companies to give me estimates and they both told me they would have to tear out the whole room and start from scratch; both quotes were for around $2,400. Fred was able to just take out the damaged boards and replace them with the extra boards I already had on hand. He did all this in a half a day for $350. Not only did he save me over $2k, he allowed for me to close on my house on schedule. I only wish I could post the before and after pictures. Excellent work.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Fred responded to my inquiry within hours, came over the next day, and performed repairs on the spot. We were told that if we had our floors refinished, the molding would have to be removed and then replaced. We had one estimate and that was the case. Had seen an ad for Buff & Coat, plus saw that they were on Angie's List. Called for an estimate and was told they could do our floors without removing the molding. To us, that was a huge issue as we have a lot of molding of all sizes and shapes. We agreed on a price and set a date while we would be on vacation. Gave Fred the key and he came in while we were away to do our floors. Most of it looked really good, but there was one spot in a very conspicuous area that was much lighter. We called Fred the day after we got back and he came right away to fix the problem. They tried, but didn't sand enough and needed to come back. They did reconcile the issue. There are always things that can go wrong, but the company that will come back to fix an issue are the good, reputable companies. We would definitely use them again if the need arises.
