About us

Empire Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. was founded in 1985 and is an independent dealer for American Standard, Amana, Daikin, Bradford White and many more product lines. We solve heating, cooling, water heating and indoor air quality problems for our customers. Our technicians have earned the Angie's List Super Service Award 15 times. Our main office is located in Decatur, Georgia with a satellite office in Cumming, Georgia to serve the greater north Atlanta area. We service, install, and repair all makes and models of heating and air conditioning equipment including ductless systems and heat pumps. To maintain our high standards, all of our senior technicians are NATE certified. Together, our team has more than 200 years heating and air conditioning experience. Empire performs background checks, random drug tests and even personality profiles along with continuous customer service training to ensure you have a pleasant and worry-free experience. We are active in the contracting community and participate with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, Conditioned Air Association of Georgia, MAACA, ASHRAE and other professional organizations to stay on top of the issues that concern you. Description of Work: I was given a 4 hour window and the tech arrived exactly at the end of the 4th hour whilst he was seemed very knowledge the fact that they called three times to confirm an appointment that had already been confirmed and threatened the appt with cancellation if they didn't get a call back within 10 mins ( I'm not always at my phone ) was very annoying and also I was charged a fee for coming to the house ( which I understand ) and an additional fee to release the freon in a mini split unit of $150.00 I thought was unreasonable especially for a potential new customer....

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Scheduling service work is an ever changing process. We do schedule schedule in four hour windows after the first call of the day as we don't know how long each call will take. We stock our trucks well and can make most repairs at the time of service. Different repairs take varying amounts of time by example we completed the charging of your unit while we were there. We do in fact call to confirm our customers are at home before we dispatch technicians. I'm sure you wouldn't want to pay for a technician to come out and not be able to do the work requested. If we don't get an answer when calling to confirm an arrival we do leave a message as to how long we can hold the technician for you before he has to move on to his next call. There are all manner of issues that keep it interesting as technicians move through their day. Sometimes customers have emergencies and have to leave. In most of those cases calling to advise a service company you won't be home is the last thing on your mind. Traffic. Thunderstorms. The occasional possum, snake, wasps and raccoon's and other critters that we run in to are a few. We do offer a great bargain to Angie's List customers new and old with coupons. We do not discriminate against our existing customers and offer them the same discounts we offer new customers. The coupons offer basic services and very attractive discounts, however, we can't provide every repair your system may need at no cost. As much as we enjoy what we do we do have to charge a fair price to perform the services our customers need to maintain their indoor environment and energy efficiency. Description of Work: Setting up the appointment went smoothly and the person who helped me thoroughly understood how to handle a pre-paid Angie's List deal! Service guy arrived during the appointed time and inspected the A/C unit telling us that it was running fine, but we might want to think about replacing it in the near future since it was getting old.
