Description of Work: Unit seemed to be running too much.Called Empire to determine whether or not thery was an actual problem. They came the same day we called Technician diagnosed the problem as a bad defroster board.He did not do the repair becuse we had a home warranty policy for repairs.

Description of Work: Purchased tune up/inspection for furnace. Mr. James was prompt, serviced unit, corrected wiring issue with blower motor, answered questions and was on his way. Great job, will use again!

Description of Work: I purchased a home and knew the furnace was old and risky. It went out a couple weeks into heating season. An Empire technician first came to evaluate and told me, not unexpectedly, that it needed to be replaced. He pointed out to me all the makeshift repairs that had been made over the years that were not safe. Professional and very trustworthy. I then spoke with their sales department to order a new one and get it installed. They were very upfront about pricing and setting my expectations. The new one was installed and has been working great for a month of very cold temperatures. I gave them a B on price because I think their prices are competitive--neither over-priced or cut-rate. I am very satisfied with the service and product and feel my money was well spent.

Description of Work: Performed a check of our HVAC unit, repaired the heating element that was not firing properly, also replaced our filter.

Description of Work: It went very well. The technician replaced the filter and vacuumed water that had collected in the drip pan because of a clogged condensation pipe. Overall the experience was a good one.

Description of Work: Changed pressure switch in gas furnace. Charged about 190 for parts. But they did not replace rubber pipe that is attached to it. It is 10+ years old and broke at the one end while replacing pressure switch. Heater stopped working after 2 weeks and different person, having more experience visited for warranty repair and noticed about broken rubber pipe that connects pressure switch and furnace blower. He did not charge for replacing pipe but I'm now wondering if pressure switch was really not working and replaced it anyway for $200. Why rubber pipe was not replaced first time. Thus 4" pipe should cost less than $5 so it should have been replaced when pressure switch was replaced.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for a furnace and air conditioning tune-up and inspection. Everything was fine.

Description of Work: They gave us an inflated price to repair a Freon leak and fix another small thing. $350.00+ We declined. Our neighbor who isn't working in that field, but maintains his license, fixed it for $65.00 in less than an hour. No problems since.
