About us

Empire Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. was founded in 1985 and is an independent dealer for American Standard, Amana, Daikin, Bradford White and many more product lines. We solve heating, cooling, water heating and indoor air quality problems for our customers. Our technicians have earned the Angie's List Super Service Award 15 times. Our main office is located in Decatur, Georgia with a satellite office in Cumming, Georgia to serve the greater north Atlanta area. We service, install, and repair all makes and models of heating and air conditioning equipment including ductless systems and heat pumps. To maintain our high standards, all of our senior technicians are NATE certified. Together, our team has more than 200 years heating and air conditioning experience. Empire performs background checks, random drug tests and even personality profiles along with continuous customer service training to ensure you have a pleasant and worry-free experience. We are active in the contracting community and participate with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, Conditioned Air Association of Georgia, MAACA, ASHRAE and other professional organizations to stay on top of the issues that concern you. Description of Work: The whole heat on my main floor was out because the blower fan on the heating unit was shot. Of course I didn't know that was the reason until Scott from Empire showed up promptly the next day. They were very quick to respond in the morning to my after hours SoS and were able to diagnose the issue quickly as well. The only delay was in getting the replacement part but they were communicative about where it was and when it would arrive. Great service! Strong recommendation.

Description of Work: I HAD A CONCERN ABOUT MY UNIT MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE. HE DID NOT WAIT TO HEAR THE NOISE AND BLEW IT OFF. THE NOISE GOT WORSE AND I CONTACTED ANOTHER COMPANY FOR REPAIRS.

Description of Work: Routine inspection of furnace under house. Technician was very knowledgeable about my system. Made recommendations for insulating duct work and changed 4 inch filter. The 4 inch filter is not included with the service and I was charged an additional $56 for that! I went to Lowe's and found the filter for $30. I thought this included an inspection of the thermostat as well, however, the technician did not come in the house. He was friendly. I didn't realize I will have to pay again to have my A/C inspected seperately.

I reviewed your service history and see our technician was at your home a little over an hour completing a heating system inspection, noted several issues of concern with insulation and flue venting, replaced the filter and found the equipment in acceptable working condition. Our Storefront special offer includes a standard 1" filter but does not include specialty or extended surface filters as your system requires. Filters from a service contractor are indeed more expensive than the internet or local big box store. It would be a huge advantage for everyone to acquire and have on hand filters for a technician to install during service. Filters take a large portion of the space in a service vehicle. If we did not provide filters during service we could use smaller vehicles and burn less fuel possibly reducing the cost of service overall. We have found that by a large margin customers prefer the convenience over the cost savings. Our service procedure does include checking the thermostat as well as all the operational controls of the system. I spoke with the technician that provided service for you and while he does routinely check each thermostat he could not recall that he specifically checked yours. We would be more than happy to return and perform a complete heating system inspection with a service supervisor at no cost. Thank you for choosing Empire and please feel free to call me anytime.
