Socket Doctors

I pulled plug out of wall. Lots of sparks/some melting occurred of plug and brass wall plate and did not pop breaker. Had them come out. They determined I must have touched the plug to the brass wall plate which caused the sparking. I had a problem in a bedroom with some melting of an outlet. They replaced both and looked over circuit breaker board. The suggested replacing the circuits. I will have them do that at a later time.

I never talked to this company. Seems like 3 days isn't long enough for them to simply return a call to schedule actual work.

After we had the scary experience of a bathroom electrical outlet popping, sparking, and partially melting, I needed an electrician right away. Rather than call for an emergency service call, which would likely have been very expensive, I decided to search the "deals" on Angie's List. That led me to call Socket Doctors to inquire about their $59 "Basic Electrical Service Call and Whole-House Electrical Inspection" deal. First I described what had happened with our outlet and asked whether they believed there was any immediate danger. They seemed very confident that, although we obviously needed to have it inspected and repaired, there was no danger of a fire as a result of that incident. Then I asked if I could use the $59 deal to have this problem fixed and also get an inspection of our entire house. They gladly agreed. That impressed me because they could have easily persuaded me that I needed an immediate emergency service call and charged me a lot of money. I then bought the deal and was able to schedule the service call within a few days. The electrician who came on November 6 was terrific. First he explained that the bathroom outlet had melted because it had been poorly installed when our house was built. He said that is a common problem. Then he repaired the wiring to that outlet and put in a new cover plate. After than he inspected all the outlets in our home and corrected shoddy connections in many of them. I was blown away by the level of service he provided. He went far above and beyond what I expected, and we are now loyal customers of Socket Doctors for all our future electrical needs.

Greg was very responsive - arrived on time and quickly got the job done. Explained everything and provided the warranty. He was a pleasure to work with and I would use these folks again.

The Installation of the recessed lights took a little longer than expected but the guys worked through getting the wiring done. I was pleased with the results. They were very professional and just a pleasure to be around. They cleaned up and put down a cover on the flooring where ever they were working. Would do business with them again.

This service is no longer needed and I didn't get a timely communication from the service provider.

Everything went very well. They guys were friendly, got the job done, didn't leave a mess. The quote they gave me was accurate, there were no real surprises.

The technician was called to replace bad circuit breaker. When he did he found the reason the UFCI breaker went bad was because two circuits were tied together. He determined which circuit was tied and fixed the problem with no extra charges.

$ 75 for $ 150.00 of work. I had a chandelier and dimmer switch installed and two standard light switches replaced. They supplied the dimmer switch. Great service and great discount of $ 75.00. I will use them again.

I'd recommend socket doctors without reservation. They were prompt, professional, and where honest. It's sometimes hard to find people you can trust to tell you when the issue is simpler than you thought and these people did just that. When I have electrical issues I will be calling socket doctors again and I strongly urge you to do the same.

Socket Doctors was fantastic. They came out the day after the hubby called. We had to go get a new chandelier before they could come out just in case the old one was no longer useable. They were on time and very professional. After replacing the chandelier, they carried the old chandelier out to the garage for me. They also performed a diagnostic of the switches that control that fixture. Afterwards, they took great care making sure I was comfortable with the explanation of what the issue was, advising that my hubby could call if he needed or wanted to call. I've only had to pay for electrical services once before and that was 20 years ago at our first house. Based on what I paid then and had done, and based on what I paid Socket Doctors and what they did, I'd have to say they are extremely reasonable on pricing even considering I had a coupon from Angie's List. I will definitely call Socket Doctors the next time we have an electrical issue.

Appt. time between 1:00 and 4:00 The guys arrived spot on 4:00. Pulled the deal from Angie's list. $150 of services for 50% off. One exhaust fan removed and replaced with a new one. I felt as though the price was inflated to compensate. The new fan has a 4" duct and the old one had 3". Instead of using a converter, he used tape to seal it off. Definitely a short cut. He quoted $85.00 to replace one vanity light fixture, again no wiring required. The old one had already been removed. I had two and refused the service.

Brad was very professional and a great communicator from start to finish. The team was on-time, clean and delivered excellent services.

Deal fell through on house, I didn't need deal but very profession Business and will use company in future.

Overall it was a great experience. Brad and Kevin arrived on time and called ahead to let me know they were en route. Upon arrival they quickly assessed the situation and completed the repairs in under an hour. They were very thorough and professional and addressed all of my concerns. Great job!

I had Brad and his other partner come to my home in Buckhead and install recessed lighting and additional LED lights in exhausting recessed cans in my adjoining kitchen. I am a very particular customer and have high expectations. I felt that Brad met my expectations with his initial communication of the job, visiting my home and reviewing the work, follow up with estimate, and arrived the day of the job at the time he promised. In addition, he took my old lighting fixtures away (at no charge).

I had contacted GA Power at first, and they told me to contact an electrician. I called one from Angie's list, and they couldn't come for another week. I called Socket Doctors and left a message. I got an immediate call back, and explained the situation. Brad said they were full, but could squeeze me in at the end of the day. The technician called me while on the way to my house, and met me at home on time. He was early. He inspected my circuit breaker and told me that everything was fine with it. He then ran a test and concluded that my neutral wire coming in from GA Power was not right. He eventually found a problem where my electrical meter connected to my line outside. He showed me where something melted inside the meter housing and was burning. He called GA Power because it was behind their meter and he could not legally remove the meter and fix it. He waited almost an hour for GA Power to arrive, and eventually had to leave. The next day, I called GA Power and escalated the situation. They sent someone out who made the same diagnosis, and fixed the area where the short was. There was still a problem. GA Power had to run a whole new line to my meter because squirrels had chewed it. It took them hours. What was amazing to me is that the tech from Socket Doctors called me back that night to ask if GA Power had arrived, and what they said. He was curious to know what they said. I was impressed that anyone who had been paid for their work, and had concluded that it was not something they could legally fix, cared enough to call back the next day to follow up. Greg was fantastic, and I would recommend this company to anyone with an electrical issue or needing an electrician.

The job went well. They showed up when they said, they did what they bid on, the work was done neatly and within a few hours. I would use them again.

The co-owner of the business, Brad, performed the service. He was on time, pleasant, and very helpful. My main issue was a faulty light above the sink in the kitchen. Brad quickly determined that the fixture was faulty and told me it needed replacement. He quoted a reasonable price and said that he could begin work immediately after a short trip to his supplier. I asked him to review the electrical panel for possible replacement, and he advised me the current panel was fine, but a few of the breakers were the wrong type and wrong amperage and needed replacement. I also inquired about a panel installed surge protector. Brad said that he could fix everything on the same day. He returned with supplies and accomplished the work in short order.
