Chris was the only one after my wife called about 10 right here down the list ( listed providers on angies list ) Yes it was the start of a holliday weekend but the others never even called back !!! . Anyway Chris and 1 of his guys came out and removed the branches of the power/cable lines ( for 250 which I think was fair ) Then we decided to let them do the mainwork to , Now the price of this was kinda steep ( 3000 for removal of the 2 trees of the house , haul away we did ourselves ) since it was only 1 day of work for the crew of 4 . But anyway it was done quickly and right without adiotional damage

Chris and his team were wonderful. They were on time and professional throughout the job. They cleaned up as they went and cleaned they the area after the job was completed. We already have quotes for additional work. It is nice to see people enjoy their work and do it well. Great job everyone.

I obtained two proposals for this work and I walked through the property with each bidder. AK Tree Service (Chris) did a great job of advising me what should be done to each of my trees and the reason why. He did an excellent job of explaining things to me, which I greatly appreciate as a first time homeowner and having no personal experience with the work and arborist does. Chris advised me that in order to do the trimming on one of the trees, I would need to obtain a permit from the city, due to the type and size of the tree. He gave me the option of applying for the permit myself or he offered to apply for the permit on my behalf, for an additional fee. I opted to have Chris handle the permit on my behalf because I would rather not have to deal with the city permit myself. Chris portrayed an impressive level of confidence and knowledge about the arborist trade, on which I place a high degree of value. I could tell by the way he interacted with me that he would make sure the job was done to the highest level of quality. He gave me a quote on the spot and called me about an hour later and said he would drop the additional fee for obtaining the permit on my behalf. Two days later, I had another company come to my property (I had already scheduled both AK Tree Service as well as this other company) to provide a proposal. I did the same with this guy; I walked around the property and let him tell me what he thought should be done. Immediately, I didn't get the same level of confidence and knowledge that I got from Chris. As we continued to walk throughout the property, he didn't point out all the same details of cuts as Chris had done two days previously. Furthermore, he didn't explain why he would do certain things to the trees. Lastly, he didn't make any mention of obtaining a permit from the city in order to trim the tree that is protected by the city. He also provided me a quote on the spot, which was about 10% higher than the proposal I received from AK Tree Service. Obviously, I chose to go with AK Tree Service over this other company. I was more impressed with the level of quality I would receive by AK Tree Service and their fee was less than the other company. Once the permit was obtained from the city, I received a call from AK Tree Service to schedule the service. She said they would be on my property at 8 am on August 1. August 1 rolled around and they arrived right on time. I walked around the property again with Chris to review what we had talked approximately 2 weeks prior. Once we were done walking around the property, the crew of 4 started in and finished within 6 or 7 hours. Once they finished all the trimming and before they did the final clean up and finishing touches, we walked around the property to make sure everything was performed to my expectations. Everything was GREAT! The crew did the final clean up and finishing touches and left the property looking great and clean. I will definitely use AK Tree Service for any future tree trimming services. EXCELLENT experience all around, from original walk through proposal to the final limb cleanup! Great job AK Tree Service!

DON?T HIRE THIS COMPANY! My husband and I hired AK Tree Service to cut down 1 large oak tree that was diseased and 3 smaller trees. He was also going to trim our magnolia tree. The quote came out to $1500.00, which we were happy with. My husband and I were both at work when the work was being done. My husband came home for lunch and noticed the oak tree was still there and a tree that we did not want cut down was GONE. My husband asked the owner when he was going to cut down the right tree and he told him he didn?t believe that he was to cut down the oak tree. My husband had to go back to work and when we both returned home that evening, we checked the quote and it clearly stated he was to take the oak tree down (even had the location). We contacted him and he admitted he made a mistake and CUT DOWN THE WRONG TREE. We paid him $1200.00 for the work he did. When we asked him when he was going to take down the right tree, he said he would when we paid him another $1500.00! We were stunned and being first time home buyers, didn?t know what to do. He agreed to trim the tree for a certain amount (forget how much) and we agreed to pay him because we wanted our tree taken down. After thinking about how wrong it was, my husband decided he would talk to him face to face when he showed up to trim the tree. He was able to get him down to $900.00 and then he FINALLY cut down the right tree (he also cut the sprinkler line that we just had fixed!). We basically got the old bait and switch. Bottom line - this is a horrible company that took advantage of us.

We have eight large oaks, one grand oak, one sycamore, one crape myrtle, and two fig trees. Chris impressed us with his passion and knowledge of all of the trees on our property upon his initial visit. He offered advice on how to properly care for our young fig trees. He indicated that the figs and our sycamore were in beautiful shape and did not need any of their help. Our grand oak was a topic of much discussion but we chose not to have it serviced at this time due to permit requirements; a job better left for another time since its overall structure is good and presented no storm damage threat to our house! Their very reasonable estimate was received within one business day of Chris' initial visit and we contracted AK Trees the following week. Chris and his team arrived on-time the day of service and again reviewed with us the contracted services and general plan. They began working immediately, preparing their tools and clearing out fallen limbs. The professionalism and friendliness of the whole five person crew was superseded only by how hard working they were. They took extra care with the large limbs that went over our power lines and always ensured their equipment and crew were properly secured as they worked in our lovely old trees. As two of the crew worked in the trees, the others hauled, chopped, and loaded the wood for removal. Before they were finished, the crew did a walk-through to make sure they collected all debris. The team also went above and beyond by removing a large pre-existing wood pile from the property. Once finished, they walked us through again to show us the work and ensure we were satisfied. Our trees look great and we are extremely happy with our service by AK Trees!

They did a super job. They pruned the remainder of the pine trees so they would be wind resisent. They trimed my front palm tree. They hauled all the wood away. They brushed everything up and cleared all debris. They got the permit for me which was $85.00. Permit was included in the $1755.00. They also gave me a 10% discount.

It was a great experience. My request for an estimate was promptly responded to. The owner, Chris came out and prepared the estimate himself. Chris provided a thorough explanation of what needed to be done why. He provided a written estimate before leaving. I received a call from the office the next day to schedule the work to be done the next week. On the day the serviced was scheduled to be performed I received a call that they could be at my home a little earlier then scheduled, it that worked for me; which it did. Upon arriving Chris introduced me to the team that would be performing the work. They promptly got to work and did a great job. They went above and beyond "just doing a job". If it was possible to give an A+ rating I would on all categories. I would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Could not have gone better. Chris and his team were very hard working. Danni coordinated the team and took care of an issue we had with permitting, while running a chain saw and hauling lumber no less. As a team I don't think that I could have made a better choice....all of this and they were about 15% less expensive than the other bids that I received. When they were all done, the team came through and raked the entire yard....not a stick was left behind. Chris and danni are a great team, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing work done by a real arborist. As they were leaving, my neighbor who was watching, ran out and asked them to do some work for him as well.

Bad weather delayed the project by 2 days but they arrive early when the weather cleared and spent from 8-5 working. Hand trimmed the trees as they are not in a locale where they can be approached with machinery. Also re hung a swing in one of the oaks for the grand kids and improved on my work. No problems, no damage and the work is clean, I asked that the large branches be left for firewood expecting that I would cut to length myself. However they cut to my 16 inch length and stacked the firewood well. I recommend them most highly.

Following my initial call for service, Chris Akonom, owner of AK Tree Service, came to my property where he listened to my concerns, made suggestions and offered a plan of action and an estimate. There was a considerable amount of work, but he and his crew were able to complete everything in one day, despite having to work around periods of rain and lightening. They were totally professional, efficient and hard working. Unlike with other companies I had used in the past, I heard no yelling or scary sounds of things falling, which I believe is due to the fact that they know what they are doing and work well as a team. Chris is really knowledgeable about trees and seems to enjoy what he's doing. His expertise and upbeat manner made it a stress-free experience and I recommend this company highly.

I was very happy with them. They cleaned up everything, were on time and did everything perfectly. They did everything they said they were going to do, gave me a senior discount and it was just very good.

The project went just as planned. They were prompt on arriving to give me an estimate and arrived right at the time they said they would be here to do the work. They were very careful not to damage the house, any of the plants, the fence, nor anything on the neighbors property. When they were done, they cleaned up the yard, cleaned off the roof, and hauled off all the debris.

I had a live oak tree in the back yard that had never been trimmed in the 21 years we have lived here. Of course it grew from a seedling, and is now towering in the back yard, and was hanging over my pool enclosure, and precariously close to the house. I had three good companies on Angie's List come by, and I told them what I wanted, and what I wanted the back yard to look like after they were done. Chris, the owner of AK Tree addressed all my wants, and needs. The outcome was exactly what I was looking for, and he included the root pruning which was not even addressed by the other two companies. The tree was cut back, and it now looks very nice, and I now I have my back yard back again, and my pool enclosure no longer looks as if it's going to be covered by the overhanging branch.

Chris, Dani and their crew did an excellent job. They were on time, very safety conscious and communicated to me what they were doing and why. Chris is very knowledgeable on tree trimming and offers good insight as to how and why they are going to trim a tree a certain way. I highly recommend AK Tree to anyone looking for Tree Trimming work to be done and will use them for future trimming work.

The AK crew did a fantistic job. They were on time, performed all the cuts we discussed previous to the job, pulled all the permits and cleaned up. I've used several other tree services in the past and this was by far the most extensive and best work I've had done. AK did the work as we discussed and helped with a 2 - 5 year plan for future trimming and the trees look great!.

This is the 2nd time we have used AK tree service and we are very happy with Chris's work. He is a nice guy, but also professional and he knows what he's doing and knows what he is talking about. He is very knowledgeable! One of the previous owners of our house was tree-happy. Don't get me wrong, I love trees.... but there is an over-abundance of palm trees on my property. One of the palm trees is so high that typical ladders can't even reach it to prune it. We had four in the back (including the monstrosity of a palm tree) that we wanted removed, and two in the front. They removed all 6 without incident and the price was affordable. He also had our live oak trimmed a little, which was nice (we had them come out the first time to trim back the live oak and a laurel oak - that was in 2013). We plan to use them again! I highly recommend Chris and his crew.

Chris and his crew are first class. He is a very knowledgeable arborist and honestly loves trees. His rates are very fair and his work is top notch. I have used him twice and he remains the only tree guy I will call!!!

He did everything he said he was going to do and his men were very nice

He was very busy and had to cancel once and then he got sick, but when he came to do the work his crew did a great job.

Chris Akonom and his crew did excellent work. All of his workers were very professional and friendly. They arrived at the scheduled time. They had the permit to remove the tree. The work was very dangerous because the tree was so huge and dead but they took all precautions to protect the workers and my property. They cleaned up after the work was done. I would definitely use them again. I highly recommend them.

Chris promptly returned my initial call to schedule a time for him to come out and provide an estimate. He showed up when he said he would and was very knowledgeable about the trees and what looked like needed done. After scheduling the work he showed up on time with a 4 man crew. Everyone worked very hard and did a professional job. They cleaned up after themselves and the trees now look great! Thank you Chris!

I called Chris on Friday afternoon, he came over and gave me an estimate on Saturday morning. And the work was done Monday morning. Chris was punctual, very personable, and clearly knew a lot about trees - not just how to remove all or parts of them, but how to best protect their health as well. He arrived right on time that Monday morning, with large truck and two helpers. They were exiled solidly for a few hours and did a very neat job. The price was less than I had expected, I got some free consultation on top of the work, and I came away feeling very good about the person I had dealt with. I will definitely contact him next time I need to work, and will recommend him highly to family and friends.

I called and had an estimate the same day and Chris and Tommy came out the following day (a Saturday) and did the work. I have 4 azaleas planted around the tree and they were extremely careful not to break or harm them in the removal. They were also careful about the tree ring; not a scratch on it. I will be calling Chris for any more of my tree needs.

He did a really good job. It was a good price for what he did. His crew is really safe while working. Last year this company did work for me and did a great job then too. I would defintely use them again.
