Universal plumbing were total professionals! They arrived when promised and assessed the problems we were having! We were given an estimate (295 of which I though was very reasonable) and fixed the issues in less than a hour. We would recommend and use these fine people if any plumbing issues arise!

They were in and out in a timely manner. They were professional and I was very pleased.

iI did have to call them back and they added more lime to the puddle because I still smelled the bad odor. They came back took the broken pipe away from under the house and did not hesitate when we called and said we still had the odor. I would call them back again the next time we need a plumber. They were very professional.

I thought I needed to have the valve replaced. Plumber offered to rebuild the current valve at a reduced price with a one year warranty. He took less than 30 minutes to complete the entire operation. Great price and I used a 20.00 Angie's list coupon.

Perhaps not fair to judge entire company by one plumber, but he really didn't seem to be on the ball. I got the impression that he didn't want to fix things, just install new fixtures.

I had bought a faucet from Lowe's. A plumber installed it. Within a couple of weeks, it started dripping. I called the man that installed it & he came out & said that replacement parts for that faucet were not made. What he did do, thinking it would solve the dripping, is replace the stem. Same dripping started again. I postponed calling him back due to the weather.. We were having cold temps at night to the point that it's recommended tap be left open, so I figured the dripping would suffice for that. Then, on Jan 8, when I was washing dishes, when the hot water would not shut off. Thus, I had to go under the sink & shut the hot water off via the valve. I then called the man that installed the faucet & he said he would 'call me tomorrow' for time, etc when he would come out to take care of the situation. Nearly a week had gone by & I had not heard from him. At that point, I called UNIVERSAL PLUMBING. I was told it would be Fri/Sat before someone could come out as they were backed up with customers who had busted pipes due to cold weather. I was asked if I wanted to be put on the list & I said yes. Thurs I called to check on 'the list' & Claudia told me I was schedule for Fri @ 3 (yeah!). Early Fri afternoon, Claudia called to see if I still needed a plumber, I told her I did & she said he is on the way. :-) Wayne confirmed that the faucet was not repairable. In a very timely fashion & professionalism, he replaced the faucet & I am pleased with the one that is now working properly.. I wasn't happy with spending another $285. The good thing is that UNIVERSAL PLUMBING supports their service. As the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20. I wish I had called UP originally.. :-)

The plumber did what he came to do efficiently, and professionally. He replaced at most a $60.00 part, which took less than 30 minutes to install. I was charged a flat rate of $255.00. Before using this company again, I will check with other companies and compare prices.

I called to get information about a debate I was having with Columbia County Water and they took their time to answers all of my questions. They were kind enough to spend 15 minutes on the phone with me knowing they weren't going to get any money out of it.

This was my first time using this company. My garbage disposal stopped working and the sink developed a substantial leak. I was given a next-day appointment, so I ran out and bought what I thought would be the most reliable disposal to have on hand for installation. The next day, the plumber was on time, very friendly, professional and informative. Without being pushy, he suggested I return the disposal I purchased and use the one he had available. By doing so, I saved about $50.00. I would definitely recommend this company.

I called the office of Universal Plumbing and made an appointment for next day between 8:00 and 10:00 am. The plumber (David) arrived about next day about 9:30 am. David was courteous, friendly and professional. He quoted the price he would charge before starting work. The work was completed in a bit over an hour. The toilet was repaired by replacing the wax ring and the shower was repaired by replacing the cartridge. David cleaned up after himself. I thought the service was a bit pricey, but I have not called a plumber in many years, so I have nothing to compare their charges to. Later that evening when I went to take a shower I found that the shower did not work properly, it did not deliver hot water. Since it was too late to call the Universal plumbing, I did so first thing next morning. Even though I live on the opposite side of town from the shop (I am in Evans, the shop is in south Augusta) he arrived within 30 minutes of my call and repaired the problem within 15 minutes. Apparently, the hot and cold water pipes in our shower were reversed, causing him to install the cartridge the wrong way round. In any case the problem was solved to my satisfaction quickly with no additional charge. I firmly believe that what separates an ordinary business from a great one is not whether they do everything right the first time, but how they handle mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, and a business that makes its mistakes right, quickly, courteously and with no fuss is worthy of praise. Universal Plumbing may have made a mistake with my service, but they handled it so well, I feel they deserve even more praise than if everything had gone hunky dory.

They showed up on time, took them less than hour to do the repair. Honest charge and price within quoted cost. Will hire again no reservations.

they were very punctual and called ahead of time to let me know they were on the way. completed the job quickly was very knowledgeable. Technician had 18 years worth of service. only gripe is it was kind of pricey for the work they did but i am grateful it was a quick repair.

Very good service and easy to work with.Work took 2 days to complete but this was expected.

I called at 9:30 and described my problem. The dispatcher said a serviceman would be there between 11 -2. She explained that a $65 service call fee would be waived if services were provided during the call. The dispatcher called around noon and identified the serviceman who should arrive in about 30 minutes. He arrived on time, explained the cause of the problem and gave me several options. He replaced my faucet efficiently and cleaned up. He also fixed a drain plug in the bathroom that had slipped for free.

The whole yard didn't need to be dug up and replaced after all. They had already made bright red marks all over both the front and side yard. (even though no work was being done on the side.) This was an eye sore for 2 months when we were hosting guests.

We got three estimates for the work. Universal's bid was in the middle.We chose them because they seemed more knowledgeable and experienced. The work took several hours.They dug a trench and put in the new pipe. They were able to go around a large magnolia tree in the front yard (the other companies said they couldn't). They filled in the hole, raked it around a little, added some grass seed, and threw some straw on top. We didn't have a manicured lawn to begin with, but the yard was a mess for a long time after that. The grass seed didn't grow and there were rocks everywhere. There were hills and valleys. It took about 18 months to get back to normal,but it's still not flat. To us, it was worth it, because the price was good. If you are very concerned about the appearance of your lawn, you will want to talk to them about that.

On Sunday my husband discovered a small puddle in the crawl space under the house. He had a friend run water in the kitchen sink and found quickly that the drain pipe had detached at a union between 2 floor joists, allowing the water to drain directly into the crawl space. Because the conditions were cramped under the house, the location required someone smaller to access the repair area. In review of the various companies on AL, Universal Plumbing had the most reviews. As with any contractor, we have found that due diligence is prudent for a successful project. My husband scheduled Universal Plumbing, making them aware of the cramped conditions for this job, for the 13th between 09:00 and 12:00 with a request for a 30 minute call ahead notice. At 10:00 my husband called Universal to confirm the time frame. He spoke with Francis at UP, who then had the assigned technician call him with an ETA. when the technician called my husband, the tech admitted that he didn't look carefully at the service order note of a tight space. The tech immediately contacted another team member that was able to be on site by 2:00 PM and the first tech let my husband know this promptly. The plumber arrived, made his assessment and gave me a price by 2:30, performed the work and was finished before 3:30. Because my husband and I work, neither of us were able to be home during the repair and our son was able to sign for the repair and my husband paid over the phone with a credit card. We will not hesitate to call Universal Plumbing again.

Overall experience was wonderful. They were on time and very professional. They took the time to cover their shoes and to clean up behind themselves.

I was quoted a price of $165.00 to install a standard sink, but when the technician arrived and discovered there was a garbage disposal attached to the sink (like 80% of all sinks) the price went to $425.00. I needed it done so I reluctantly went ahead and let him do it, but I will never use this company again!

Called the company the day before (1 Oct) and was given a choice on time for an appointment. Since this was a non-emergency, I requested a later afternoon appointment. The next day, the company called 30 minutes ahead to make sure I was around at the scheduled time. The plumber arrived and started assessing the problem. He concluded that the problem was probably the PRV. He went outside to search for the PRV and after poking around through some thick wood mulch, he found it. After fiddling (about as technical as I can describe it) with it for a few minutes, the pressure returned to normal. He cleaned up the work area and rechecked all the faucets. Satisfied, he reviewed the job with me, explaining what was accomplished. Only after the bill was paid, did he suggest and offer a quote for an extended solution, a PRV replacement. The plumber was very courteous and professional, a good representative of Universal Plumbing.

Excellent phone call to establish time for repair, estimate and work was prompt and on time.

I called on a Wednesday and arranged for a estimate on Friday between 1 and 4 pm for a bathtub leak that had damaged a downstairs ceiling. I received a call Friday morning asking if the schedule could be changed to Saturday morning between 8:30 and 9 am which I agreed to. At 9:30 on Saturday I called to ask where the plumber was and was told I had been given the wrong time and after calling the plumber I was told he would finish with his current job in 15 minutes and would then come to my house. At 10:30 I again called and could not get anyone to answer so I left a message asking about the scheduled time (no response). Shortly afterword the plumber showed up.I felt I had been accommodating in changing the schedule at Universal's request and did not appreciate the confusion and lateness in the arrival of the plumber. I would think twice before calling Universal again.
