I did not let this company do the work on my house. They did however come out for an inspection. During the inspection my tenet said the guy was at the house no longer than 25 minutes and marked his time down on the bill as an hour and a half. Then he calls to tell me that the tray beneath my system is rusted through and the heat exchanger is starting to split and since it's a 1990 unit I just need to have the whole thing replaced... For $2,300 dollars! My house is only 1,500 sqft and the cost of a furnace for this size home is only around 700 bucks. I called a second company based on a referral who installed a new control board, replaced the drain pan and corrected all other small problems for $500 dollars. He said when the time actually came for the unit to really need replacing he would do everything for ,1,400. That's almost half of what sig cox quoted! _x000D_|_x000D_|The only reason I give sig cox a B is because when I brought up the price and the differing in findings from the two companies Sig Cox's manager Barrett came out with his top technician to see if his original worker had been truthful on his issues statement on the estimate. He backed up what his tech said but still recommended I get a new unit._x000D_|_x000D_|I respect Barrett for that, but I guess we differ at the point of spending 1,900 / 2,300 (their original fee) to get a new unit or 500 bucks to get mine perfectly working.

I saw the pictures myself and I have to say that the furnace you have is in deplorable condition. Every safety device was disabled and the entire blower section was either rusted out or full of mold. The drain pan was literally orange from all of the rust. The other company charged you $500, plus quoted $1400 for a new unit. That totals $1900 which was what we said we could have put in a new furnace for. I'm not sure that you even got such a good deal at $500. I'm not sure what we could have done for $500 that would have made any great improvement. We have GPS in our trucks and I checked and our technician arrived at 1:19PM and left at 2:59PM. I can reproduce those records for you. You may have felt like you saved a bunch of money, but I assure you that you have only set yourself up for more aggravation for yourself and your tenant in the future. If you didn't get to see the pictures contact me and I'll email them to you. Thanks, John Haynie

The representative came out to give us an estimate for a new heater--no pressure, no glitz, just complete candor of what the company could provide in our price range. Because we liked his style and manner, we decided the same day to employ this company. They came the very next day, which surprised us--the first frost of the year was projected the very next day and they lost no time in installing our new heater. They were very thorough in their work and the lead technician was even kind enough to program the thermostat so the heat would turn on or off certain hours during the work week. Overall, we are greatly pleased with the service and we would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for work on their heating system.

They come when the time is right. They are polite and professional. They work quietly and keep in mind that we are running a business and don't need to be interrupted or disturbed. They always make sure things are working right and they test the system after the service so that it is sure things are working right. I have used them both at home, at my business office, and gotten opinions about my warehouse applications. They have been top notch and professional at every turn. I like that they have been in the business for more than 80 years and are in the 4th generation of family tradition. They are solid folks, and have a caring attitude, even though they are a large company.

I have had very high GA Power Bills in the last three or four months, up to $552.00 for one month. Last year my power bill averaged $200 to $300 for the same months. I had two other heating and air conditioning companies come out and check my air and heating unit. One found nothing, the other said it was working fine, but still my unit was using too much power (Kilo Watts per hour per day) I called Sig Cox and when the young man (Jeff Whiting) came out I told him what my problem was. He checked the outside unit and then went into the attic to check the blower. He told me he thinks he knows what the problem is and said he had to check on more thing. After that he told me what he had thought was correct. He said he found that a set of cooling strips in the blower were drawing 22 amps the should be drawing approx. 2 amps. He said the heat sequencer was stuck closed, and showed me on his testing meter. He replaced the heat sequencer, checked it again and again showed it to me on his test equipment, and the blower was then using the correct amps. I was so impressed with his service, I took out the 1 year maintenance contract with Sig Cox for $159.00. I also like the idea that this young man would be the one that will continue to work on my heating and air unit from Sig Cox in the future. This is the first review I have ever written for any company, but I wanted to let other folks know how please I was with this service and expecially my much lower GA Power Bill.

Called Barrett at almost 6pm because our air conditioner had quit working. I knew it was after hours and expected it to be either be very expensive or not able to be checked until the following day. He gave me a quote on the service charge to come out and check for the problem and was willing to work with me if needed on the cost of repairs. Jess was at our home within 2 hours, and had the unit running. Thankfully it was nothing major! These guys were very professional and I will definitely use them again if the need arises. They also have a very reasonable service plan that I'm thinking of signing up for.

Barrett quoted the job on Monday, 8/19 and the work was done the next day. Even though they were not the low bid, I decided to use them since they had recently serviced the unit (worsening freon leak on a 23 yr old system). The crew showed up the next morning around 9:00 am and basically worked till 5:00 pm getting the new units installed. I was a litlle disappointed when they told me that they could not install (could not pull existing line out to get new line in) a new liquid ac line as desired so they re-used the existing line which is undersized. Other than that, I have no complaints. The new unit is working and my upstairs is cool. Everyone one was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

We had 24-year-old system that could run all day on 90+ degree days and never get the house below about 82 degrees. We were seeing power bills upwards of $800 a month. The company that had been working on the system offered to replace the blower/compressor for about $1200 but we knew that would just get us back to a system that didn't get the job done, so we called Sig Cox. John Haynie came out personally and gave us an honest appraisal of the situation and approximate cost. He then got his project manager to come onsite for a more thorough and technical walk-thru. Between the two of them they came up with a plan which they explained to me very well. Once we agreed, they came up with a date and timeframe for the work. They sent over two very professional guys to perform the work on the date/time specified. The price I paid was the same as the one originally quoted, with no hidden fees or other "gotchas". There were a lot of obstacles to overcome in this job but that never fazed these guys. They kept me up to date on what they were doing and how long they expected it to to take every step of the way. They took pains to minimize impact on the household, and, best of all, even though the job took slightly longer than expected, they finished just in time for the first 80+ degree days of spring! This was a very experienced team from top to bottom and they put together a system that is fitting my family's needs. We have seen a substantial decrease in our power bill while our house stays at the desired temperature without having to run the AC all day.

I went to the member's home with my estimator because he had concerns about the different options we had available for correcting the terribly undersized unit and poor design at this member's home. He had another company that had been parts swapping for some time and had not really fixed the system. We suspected operational problems as well and wanted our lead tech to come to the site and thoroughly go through the equipment. We discussed this before we left and some sort of a plan but no firm estimate on a new system. We had not decided on the best course of action at that time. This was all around the first week of April. My estimator and myself tried calling the member several times. He has a demanding job and was understandably difficult to get in touch with. We were not able to schedule our tech and nothing ever became of our estimates. The member was never charged for any of our services. These were just free consultations for what was a problem created by a builder he said was no longer in business.

The receptionist was very professional when I made the initial call and she was clear about the fee for the diagnostic visit. The technician arrived within 2 hours of my call and diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. He was also very professional and went beyond the minimum, changing out my air filters and helping me with an unrelated problem. A part was needed that was under warranty and Sig Cox took care of all the paperwork for that. It took an extra day to get the part and the time to do the repair, but when it was being done it took an hour less than expected. I was appreciative of the fact that the technician put covers over his shoes before coming in my house. The repair was successful, and the technician stayed to make sure everything worked well. His whole attitude was of someone who takes pride in their work. I also noticed that communication between the various employees was good. I can't think of anything more I could have asked to be done. On top of all that, I was able to use an Angie's List coupon from the website to get 20% off the repair! It saved me $135.

I'm really sorry about the price we gave and what I believe might have been a misunderstanding. My tech quoted you for an warranty evaporator coil replacement, system evacuation, filter drier, warranty processing and recharge. His quote was just over $1000 for that, which is our normal price. Did you get a chance to show him your Angie's List 20% off coupon? That would have made quite a difference in the price. If you have an opportunity please call me at our office, I would welcome the chance to discuss the pricing and get some general feedback on your experience with that technician. Our reviews here speak for themselves, and we have many, many happy customers. Thanks, John Haynie.

Great service. Noticed that the a/c unit fans were not running and giving it a simple push didn't get the fan blades turning. We looked up a/c repair companies here and found good reviews for this company. We called them at 630 pm and there was a repairman here in 30 mins and they didn't charge us an after hours fee. By 730 pm the a/c unit was working and the house was cooling down. Will definitely use them in the future. Also the 20% coupon on their website was honored and saved us some money. Very pleased with the work.

Barrett Donnelly gave me his personal contact number and was immediately responsive each time I called him with questions. The work crew arrived at 0800 on a Monday morning and worked straight through that day and night into the next day (0200, Tuesday) in order to complete the job before my wife returned home from the hospital. Every employee that we encountered was professional and went above and beyond the call of duty in performance of their job. Since the installation the UV light bulb burned out once, after placing a call to inform them, they sent a service person to check on it that same day, and they ordered a replacement bulb, which the next day shipped, then they installed it at no charge because it was under warranty. I highly recommend this company and definately will continue to use them in the future.

Spoke with Barrett Donnelly, the sales rep. who quoted the job, on Friday, 6/14 to get the final details of the quote. Informed Barrett that Sig Cox was the successful bidder ( two companies were solicited based on Angie's List ranking) and asked when they could install the unit. Much to my surprise, Barrett said they could install the unit the next day at no additional charge. Unit was installed and functional for A/C in a couple of hours - the existing pad was in good condition and did not need to be replaced - Barrett stated that would save me $100 on the job total. The installer needed some extra gas line parts to hook up the heater side, and the heater gas feed was hooked up on Sunday, 6/16, and the exiting pad was leveled to improve the working of the A/C condensate drain. The unit was not trimmed out to the house on 6/16 or Monday, 6/17. On Tuesday, with the unit still not trimmed out to the house, we received an invoice in the mail from Sig Cox in the amount of $4,850, payable COD. I contacted Sig Cox by e-mail and explained the problems with the invoice amount and with the installation not being complete. Barrett called me back, told me the invoice was incorrect and he apologized for it being sent out without his having a chance to review it, and that the unit would be trimmed out before Friday, 6/21. The unit was trimmed out on Thursday, 6/20. My wife and I drove down to the Sig Cox office, picked up a corrected copy of the invoice, and paid the $4,750 balance owed. Sig Cox sent us an e-mail week of 6/17 with the warranty registration they had sent to Rheem, and that was a plus for me. I consider the slight hiccups that cropped up during this job to be just that - slight hiccups. I was extremely impressed that they installed the unit and hooked up the A/C side on a Saturday a no additional charge. The people were friendly and appeared to be very competent. My impression of the company is that they don't flood the airwaves with extensively produced television commercials and don't necessarily wash and wax their service trucks every week, but they did take me from 83 degrees in my home to 75 degrees in a couple of hours.
Description of Work: Replace Carrier 3.5 ton gas/electric package unit with Rheem Classic 4.0 ton gas/electric package unit. Install new pad as necessary. Use existing power feed wiring, existing low voltage wiring, and existing thermostat. Haul off old unit. Quote was $4,850.

Description of Work: We have used this company for over 10 years to service and maintain our heating and air conditioning system. They have always been courteous, straightforward, and careful. Spring Service for 2 main A/C units with gas pack - 2nd with Air handler-furnace in attic. Units were cleaned and heating and cooling portions were checked. No repairs were needed. Service was provided for 3rd unit. A smaller sun room Mitsubishi Mini-Split unit which was not performing well was checked and cleaned. Since the compressor is located in the garden and had not been cleaned for several years, cooling fins were extremely dirty. Unit was cleaned checked and refrigerant was found OK. Operation checked and no repairs were needed. The technician, Jamie did a great job. He was thorough, professional, prompt and responsive to my concerns. I had used Sig Cox to install the main unit replacement AC/Heat Rheem unit in 2009 and a Mitsubishi Mini Split for a new sun room. That work was performed to the A rating noted above. I will continue to use Sig Cox. Great outfit.

My 20 year old HVAC needed to be replaced. I learned about Sig Cox from this server and was impressed with their high ratings and comments associated with work that had been performed. I called the Sig Cox office number and was greeted in a friendly manner. I explained my situation and was told that employee Barrett Donnelly would be calling me shortly. Not only did Barrett call me, but was at my house to assess my situation within 1 hour of my call. Mr. Donnelly not only explained everything in a easy to understand manner, but left ample time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I was impressed that Sig Cox is available to service it's clients 24/7 and felt that they would go above and beyond to meet our needs. He further quoted us the best offer out of the 3 estimates that had already been received and not once did I ever feel forced to make a decision to go with his company. Upon his departure, an email was sent to confirm what had already been discussed and Mr. Donnelly called me and kept me informed of when the company would be out to replaced my unit. I was called before the workers arrived and was kept informed throughout the installment. I was throughly impressed when asked to come outside and see the progress that was being made. Mr. Donnelly and fellow workers took the time to explain the new unit and even showed me the reasons why the old unit needed replacing. At the installments completion the thermostat was assessed for proper function and Mr. Donnelly made sure that I understood the importance of changing out my air filter. I was further instructed to call with any further questions or concerns and that they would be out within the year to make sure that the Rheem was functioning to it's best ability. After the workers left I went outside to assess my new HVAC. I was impressed that they cleaned up and left my yard with no trash let behind. I have since referred this company to a friend. A+++ to Sig Cox for making a big home owner headache turn into a positive experience!
Description of Work: Replacement of (gas-pack) HVAC with a Rheem with included minor repairs of outer duct work leading into the unit. Duct work was also throughly assessed for proper function.

Overall, excellent transaction from start to finish. Originally called Sig Cox for maintenance on an aging A/C unit and furnace. After closer inspection, it was determined that the furnace was on its last legs (it was over 20 years old). After a very detailed estimate and multiple phone calls and emails, due to being a picky person an acceptable package was agreed upon and installation was scheduled within the same week. The installers were right on time, on a Saturday no less, and were professional and courteous. Total installation took approximately 8 hours and they made sure we had all of our questions answered and were happy with the installation and the units. Customer Service before and after the fact were above par.

Very good service and very quick. They are better than advertised.
Description of Work: I could not set my thermostat to heat. They offered to help me on the phone, but I said I wanted to fix this thing and needed a technician to see what was wrong. They called 30 minutes before he arrived and he was on time. Fixed my problem and I will be calling for some additional work on my H/A before the end of the month. My only complaint is he did some work on the gas heater to make it work better, it did, but did not tell me there would be a extra $55 dollar charge for the extra work. The work was needed and I had no objection, just not informed first.

After a small grease fire, we had to have the heat/air turned off and the air ducts cleaned. The company that turned it off found a small hole in the heat exchange so were not allowed to turn it back on due to carbon monoxide risk. However, they failed to inform us. As it happened during a warm spell, we did not realize it until a cold snap hit. Sig Cox came out immediately and gave us an estimate. After obtaining 3 estimates, we chose Sig Cox. The techniican,Barrett Donnelly, was courteous, infomative, and offered the best price. He was able to ask questions and help us sort through different options and brands including financing options. He helped us make the right decision. As there was a cold spell approaching, he came out immediately to install the unit despite the fact we had not completed financial arrangements. We could not have asked for a better experience Adrienne Wilson

The workers arrived on time and we did not have any problems with their service. We encountered a broken part within six months of service, and they arrived to fix it free of charge even after a long day of work.
Description of Work: Sig Cox replaced an old A/C and added an additional heating/cooling zone to another area of the house. This company was much better than a few other businesses we called up in town. Their professionalism and punctuality were key, and they also seemed to be much more adept at providing estimates (as a leading competitor could not even figure out how much the work would cost even after visiting our home and waiting a week). I found the other leading competitors to be a waste of time.
