Saturday moring I woke up to water gushing out of the ground by my Water Meter. After I shut off the water flow I immediately went to the Web to search Angie and Kudzu and the BBB. Ridgeway was one of the three I chose to call. Only Ridgeway answered on a Saturday. Luckily, they had a Truck and crewperson working this Saturday in the area and could be at my house in three hours. The Truck arrived as promised. It had everything needed on the Truck to complete the job in the one visit. After four hours, the job was done and I had water again. The price may have been "fair" and "competitive", but it still hurt to pay $825. for one man and one truck and 40 feet of Black Poly pipe for four hours work. Overall I am very satisfied.

Very well. It took longer than expected but the work was done properly and that can be expected.

We live in an 87-year old house. One of the "clay" drainage pipes outside had become damaged by tree roots and was clogged. Ridgeway came out once and "snaked" it and it worked for a while, but soon it happened again, which they had warned us it probably would. They gave us two options: remove a section of a concrete driveway to get to the pipe and repair it (really big cost), or install a pump in the basement that "flushes up" (still a lot of $$$ but not nearly as much as demolishing the driveway). We chose the second option. They said that a lot of older houses in Atlanta have the same problem and the same solution. They installed the system and it's worked fine since then. I was very impressed with the time Alan Ridgeway himself took to isolate the cause of the original problem and tried to come up with best solutions. All their plumbers are great. I would give anyone highest recommendations for Ridgeway Mechanical.

Things went very well. The technicians were knowledgable and professional.

The kitchen sink drained slowly for about 8 months. The plug was beyond the pipes accessible under the sink. I was able to use a plunger and hand-held snake to keep the drain operable for awhile. When this approach didn't work anymore, I called Ridgeway to clear the drain. Ridgeway arrived on time and began by confirming the price estimate. The price estimate that I was given on the phone did not include the Angie's List discount advertised. I never told them that I found them on Angie's List. When I told the plumber the estimated price range ($179-$209) he said this estimate already included the discount. Not sure how this could include the discount when I never mentioned to the scheduler that I found them on Angie's List. The price range, discount or not, was still cheaper than 2 other plumbing services. Plumber began with running power snake through drain. Even though the snake made it through the pipes to the sewer, water still didn't drain. Since my plumbing is visible and accessible from the basement/crawl space, a camera was fed in at one of the access points to see if the obstruction could be found. The plumber was very helpful in explaining the layout and functionality of my plumbing. I have new pipes with the exception of a couple of old cast iron attachments at the kitchen and bathroom walls. He isolated this as the point of the stoppage. Next ran a high pressure water hose/spray in the line to blast the stoppage out. This worked like a charm. Overall, I was happy with the results and due to the additional troubleshooting shooting steps taken I agreed to a final price of $225.

They responded quickly to my call, were very courteous and wore booties to protect my home and performed the work quickly and the price was competitive. I'd definitely use them again.

Workman spent about 10-15 minutes installing new flappers in two toilets at my office condo. Did a great job, everything works great. I thought the labor price was too high ($120); materials ($25), plus trip charge ($40). I voiced my opinion to the workman who responded that they charge a full-hour of labor rate. I had asked for an idea of cost from the front office on the phone before scheduling them and was told "it shouldn't be that much." I thought it WAS a lot. Guess I learned a lesson and will ask for specifics next time. I am a repeat customer of theirs (home and office building) and overall think they do a great job. I will continue to use them, but will insist on a price range up front next time.

They were able to come out and would have done the work within 24 hours but I was checking other services so they did it two days later. The entire job took about 3.5 hours and they worked pretty hard and did everything right the first time. They didn't make any mess inside and were very professional. They did a decent job cleaning up though the helper seemed a little confused when putting all the dirt they dug up back on the lawn and I had to ask them to really pack it down and leave some extra on top because it will settle. It's a little messy now but I expect it to settle in flat by the end of the Summer.

Charles covered his shoes while in the house. He's super polite and helpful. He found and solved the problem (described above) very quickly.

Very unfortunate situation. Technician was let in to do the work in my absence. Neighbor had key and was there when technician arrived, AND when he left. The price quoted was definitely out of line with prices for exact same situation a few months earlier. I had no choice, not being there myself to have other plumbers look at it. Technician was extremely quick to take out disposal and install proper drain without disposal. From start to finish, he was in my loft for LESS than 30 minutes! This was verified and DOUBLE verified by both neighbor and one other individual. This part is unbelievable On the invoice, he stated he was there over one hour and stated he did things he did not. (Neighbor also has a background in plumbing and supervised nearly the entire repair). When I called the "manager" to make an inquiry on the price, he was extremely defensive and delivered a well-rehearsed speech that reminded me of a telemarketer. He also refused to believe that the technician misrepresented the complexity of the job and exaggerated the work done. Manager actually told me it was PHYSICALLY impossible he could have done that job in anything less than one hour. So either he did not FINISH the job, or someone is lying. Because he absolutely was there less than 30 minutes working. Neighbor had to lock unit when plumber left so no question on the time. He was argumentative and would not acknowledge fact or reason. I offered video documentation on security camera of the time he arrived AND time he left. Cameras do not lie. Manager told me the tech. had to leave town on a family emergency..... Also pointed out they bill by the JOB not by the clock. That they have overhead to pay. ($325.00 for 30 minutes???) He promised to talk to the owner, and if he agreed an adjustment should be made, he would mail me a check. He asked "where should I send the check if owner agrees??" Being an honest person, I actually believed it would be resolved. I did NOT get a refund of the inflated price nor would they admit the technician was dishonest in billing for the work done. (AGAIN witnessed time stamp... regardless of how "complicated" the job was, it was obviously doable in less than 30 minutes!!!) That fact cannot be disputed. I have alerted the remaining owners in the building to steer clear based on the manager's failure to respond to a factually based and verifiable dispute. Steer clear based on manager's tendency to argue before listening. Steer clear based on failure to follow up logical and reasonable dispute voiced without anger or insults. It's all about the bottom line for companies these days. Good luck.

They did a great job. They had a good price. They did the work quickly. There were no issues.

I called Ridgeway on Wednesday afternoon and got an appointment for early Thursday(8:00 am). Ridgeway's employee was right on time. He tried to save me the expense of getting a new heater by replacing the thermocouple, but unfortunately the pilot would not stay lit(the problem turned out to be a broken gas valve, the replacement of which wouldn't have made sense). He returned with a new water heater within an hour and had it installed very quickly. Unfortunately, my condo property was having a separate water issue when Ridgeway was installing the heater, so we couldn't fill the tank after the installation. Ridgeway's employee told me to call him whenever the water came back on and he would fill the tank and test the installation. He came back that night at 7:00(the water didn't come back on until 5:00 or so and he was at another appointment)to complete and test the installation, even though he had been working for 11 hours that day. Terrific service and a fair price-couldn't ask for more.

I contacted this company after I did not receive a timely response from another. We scheduled for 8:30 this morning. At 8:10 I received a call stating that the plumber, Charles, was running late. I received two additional calls updating me on his arrival time. He was pleasant, efficient, and neat.

I called Thursday afternoon to make an appointment for Friday morning. They were able to accommodate me at 10 am. Chris came around 10:AM was nice and respectful and he went right away to the bathroom. We talked about what happened, he kept flushing the toilet, look inside the tank, kept it open to see how the components were moving as he kept flushing. Everything looked good so far, he kept flushing with lots of paper and everything was still fine. After that he flushed with the shower on and the bathroom sink faucet on too but everything was fine. Chris conclusion was that City of Atlanta was working on the water main line and the flow was decreased temporarily. He told me to watch for any back up in my shower due to the City working on the pipes, that will definitely need the plumber. He also told me that my toilet was wobbly so I told him that it is a new one just installed in April and that the guy told me to put caulk around it to stop the wobble that was due to the flange. I did not do it because I was waiting to just change the flange, Chris said there was no need for that because the house is old the floor is not leveled. To only but something to balance it and then caulk it. The next thing I know Chris pulled some coins from his pocket and leveled the toilet! He was really nice.

We found Ridgeway Mechanical on Angie's List & called them to get a quote to re-pipe a bathroom with copper and to install a vanity & faucet. We thought the price was fair so we hired them to the do the work. Greg performed the work and we are happy with the results!

Overall, I received more than what I paid for. The plumber from Ridgeway was extremely polite and professional. You couldn't ask for better service!

I have been using them for about a year. I really like their response time and integrity. They always stand behind their work. I have had a few different technicians and they are all very friendly.

The technician, Jamie, arrived the morning after our call. He would have come sooner, but it wasn't an emergency per our assessment. He replaced the bad unit with a new model. Retrofitted pipes and vents to suit the new, taller heater and tie into our second tank. He also had to remove a wooden barrier railing to remove the unit, then rebuilt it without additional cost. Took the old heater with him. Our expansion tank was new, so that wasn't included in the price. In and out in about 2 hours. Quick, clean, professional and efficient. Great work! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Jamie arrived half an hour late (not a big deal) and was very friendly and polite. He pulled all three toilets and found that he needed other parts than what he had with him. He left at 11:30 and returned at 2:15, after an appointment that I had. Overall, he worked for several hours to complete the job.

They were on-time and professional. Their prices were very fair and the estimate they gave me was exactly what the final bill was. The man that did all the work was very nice. He did a great job.

Untrue advertising of free travel charges.

I called three plumbers Friday night at 11:00 p.m. and left messages with all of them to get back to me in the morning. Ridgeway was the first to call back shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday. The owner talked with me extensively and diagnosed the problem over the phone. A very professional serviceman came by a couple hours later and confirmed the owner's diagnosis, cleared the line, showed me the problem area with the snake camera (ball of roots in sewer line) and not only gave me an estimate on repairs, but actually advised me that since the problem area was so close to the roadway, I should call the county first and ask them if they could come out and fix it for me for free. That is the kind of honesty this company has, that they would risk losing hundreds of dollars in business by telling me the county could probably do the job for me for free, rather than pressuring me into hiring the company to do it. While the serviceman was here, he also took the time to give me a very reasonable estimate on having a half-bath plumbed into a back storage room. These guys are great and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

They were great! I'm a very tough critic, but these guys did a great job. They were prompt, efficient, courteous and professional and the work was very well done. I chose them over other companies on the list because they had equal reviews and had less of an "up front" cost - i.e., the cost that most of these plumbing companies charge you to come out and do an estimate if you choose not to do the work with them. Some companies charge $99 to even do an estimate. Ridgeway charges much less. In the end, their estimate was reasonable and they did the work the same day.

They came out right away. They were honest and trustworthy. They were quick and the job was done immediately. They were very clean.
