While pricing was about 15% higher than two other companies, they called us back within 10 minutes of submitting the request and got the work done within 3 days. Also they were more professional and I felt more confident with their company than the others.

I hired this company to replace a sewer ejection pump and the pipe connecting to the city sewer. They gave me 5 year warranty on their work. After 2 years it stopped working. They are looking all the excuses they can not to honor their warranty. The way they responded my call is just yelling, their technician they sent to look at the situation is the most unprofessional person I had to deal with. Stay away from this company. It is a disgrace for the plumbing profession what these guys are standing for.

We had a water leak from the street to the house. Ridgeway Mechanical responded very quickly. They sent Salvatore who was able to diagnose the issue, explained how they would fix it and the price was half of what a few others had quoted. Best of all they replaced the entire line without ripping up the yard. The others had insisted there was no way to do that in our yard. Salvatore showed how they did it and there was no obstacle reason our yard to resort to using a ditch witch. Another thing in their favor is a 20 year warranty for parts and labor. Another well known company only offered a 3 year warranty. Thank you to Ridgeway and to Salvatore!

Excellent work. Salvadore was the crew chief and was very knowledgeable and professional. We live near Stone Mountain, and the yard is full of very large rocks and roots. Considerable effort was required to get past all the rocks, and the crew met every challenge. It took them much longer than anticipated, but they stuck to the agreed upon price, which was very reasonable. They left the premises in very good shape, and it is hard to see that they were here at all. I highly recommend Salvadore and his crew for this job.

Over several months 6 employees came to my house on 10 different occasions. They were scheduled to come and didn?t come on many other occasions. They replaced pipes but it continued to leak. I was finally able to secure a $400 refund for what I paid. Another plumber from a different company came and fixed it within 5 minutes and didn't charge me.

UPDATE: I am changing the review from "F" to "B". It appears that the delay was due to the credit card company not processing the refund fast. ========================================== I had them fix a frozen pipe that took 10 minutes to fix and paid a premium price for it. They charged me more than the normal price because of the demand from the freeze weather. I was ok with that. I gave them my credit card to charge. They charged my credit card 2 times! I called and left voice mail to them immediately. I also spoke to the owner Alan. He promised to take care of the issue immediately, but has not taken care of it in the 5 days since it happened! I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. I was a repeat customer with this company and gave them business 3 times within a year. I'll now stay clear of this company!

They came out and were prompt. They took care of the work but I felt that their pricing was way too high. I have had the same issue fixed before for around $100 and Ridgeway charged me $400 for the same issue. In addition they did not bring the correct tools and had to end up borrowing my ladder to reach the leak.

PART 1 My initial contact with Ridgeway was perfect. In fact, I couldn't believe how well the service was going considering the size of the job I was coordinating. My initial plumber was David, he showed up on time, gave a fair quote and came back to complete the initial portion of the job with no incident. The first visit included the installation of the gas line for a new gas range, installation of new water line for pot filler and capping existing water lines in preparation for cabinet installation. I was invoiced $800 for the initial portion of the job which was charged to my credit card. When I received my statement, I noticed that I was charged TWICE for the service. No big deal, these things happen. So I called the company to resolve and Chris said that she only charged my card once. Again, no big deal; I simply filed a dispute with AMEX and they took care of everything...all parties satisfied. PART 2 After the cabinets and countertops had been installed, I called back to schedule what should have been the easy part of this service. Reinstalling the dishwasher, installing customer supplied faucet and pot filler were to cost $400 and take a few hours to complete. Attempt 1: My appointment time was 8am on 12/15. At 7:45am, I was a little surprised to receive a call from the office "confirming my appointment time". However, it was apparent that they had no idea what they were supposed to come out and do nor were they clear on how much I was quoted for the service. I had to tell them. Then Jaime and Jaime showed up. Again, I was surprised because I LOVED David and the work he'd done. No worries, I'd give these guys a chance; they seemed nice enough and one of the Jaimes was supposedly "a manager". Unfortunately, they wouldn't complete the service because the tile backsplash had not been installed (which prevented the pot filler install). They also said that they electrical wires - which had simply been pushed under the floor during construction - needed to be pulled up through the floor and cabinet by an electrician in order to install the disposal and dishwasher. Frustrating, but okay. Attempt 2: Once I'd done what they asked, I called back and was scheduled for 12/23 between 10-2. You guessed it, noone showed up. I called shortly after 2pm, and was told that Jaime was working on Pharr Road and would be at my place in about 15-20 minutes. I even skipped leaving for lunch to make sure I didn't miss them. But, Jaime never showed up and no one ever called to say he'd be delayed. I called back around 4pm and was told that Jaime "would call me". Not sure what that meant, but okay. I bet you can guess what happened next. No show and no call. I'm not a happy camper. I understand that things happen. As a paying customer, I was tremendously disappointed at the poor customer service and lack of communication. Attempt 3: I called back first thing 12/24 to find out what happened and was told (not asked mind you) that my appointment had been rescheduled for Monday, 12/29 at 8am. Wait...what? So before I "go in" on the complete disregard for customer service and lack of professionalism, let me first say that the guy that is now handling inbound phone calls is not the same person that I was dealing with during PART 1. As he refused to give me his name, I'll refer to him as "Disrespectful Company Rep" since the name I would call him involves profanity which is frowned upon in this forum. So I asked the Disrespectful Company Rep to explain since no one ever called me to reschedule the appointment. The most intelligent response he could muster was, "Uhhh..Jaime didn't call you?" After several rounds with this "intellectual" all I could gather was that someone at Ridgeway had taken it upon themselves to move the appointment without regard to my schedule, my availability or the fact that they had screwed up my initial appointment the day before. I asked Disrespectful Company Rep if they could send someone else instead of Jaime, surely there's more than one technician that works there. Still, no satisfaction. I guess Disrespectful Company Rep used up the last of his 3 brain cells to tell me that Jaime was on a tractor on some huge job in some other part of the city. He could try and text him, but...he probably wouldn't respond. I simply took that to mean that my job was too small and the commitment they'd made to it not significant to warranty a remedy to the havoc they'd caused to our Christmas plans. Disrespectful Company Rep lacked any motivation to escalate my service call, offer an apology for the inconvenience or the lack of coordination within their organization. After the 3rd delivery of, "Uhhhh...Jaime was supposed to call you." I ceremoniously hung up the phone...yes, in his face. Attempt 4: So a week has passed and it's the morning of 12/29 at 8am. By 9am no one has called and no one has shown up. The ONLY thing I want for Christmas is for Disrespectful Company Rep NOT to answer the phone when I call to inquire. No such luck. Again, I've had pet rocks smarter than this guy so having an intelligent conversation is more than a challenge. Again, there is no record of the appointment. He has no idea what the job is about. Needless to say, I am LIVID! After all of this customer contact you're still asking me to describe the job that is supposed to be performed? Really? No, seriously...REALLY? Did I raise my voice...ABSOLUTELY. Did I ask to speak to a manager...ABSOLUTELY. (Apparently there are no owners or managers at Ridgeway since Disrespectful Company Rep refused to allow me to speak with any one in a position of authority at the company.) The only response I received from the Disrespectful Company Rep was that they were "trying to schedule" an appointment for me on last week, but I hung up on him. I'm perplexed. How can that be when YOU were the one that TOLD ME that the appointment had automatically been rescheduled for the very day I'm calling to inquire about? I never once canceled the appointment or asked them not to come. I suspect that Disrespectful Company Rep was feeling EXTRA in touch with his feminine side since the only response he had to my inquiries was that I should stop yelling at him. Seriously? Let me just say that I would never....hear me clearly NEVER contact Ridgeway Mechanical again to provide any service for me or even my worse enemy. If you desire even an average level of customer service, professionalism, punctuality and communication from a service provider, then Ridgeway Mechanical is NOT the company for you. I swear I would GLADLY welcome DAVID back into my home to complete the job, even after they bad mouthed him both over the phone and in my home. Not cool....not professional. Believe me, I will continue to personally spread this message within my community, as well as my personal and professional networks. STAY AWAY FROM RIDGEWAY!!!
Description of Work: I was in the process of a complete kitchen renovation. I contacted Ridgeway Mechanical to install a new gas line, add a water line for a pot filler, cap existing water lines and reinstall existing fixtures when the renovation work was completed.

I highly recommend this company! The work they did was excellent, as was the personal experience of dealing with the staff. They endeavor to leave a place better than they found it, and while this could sound questionable coming from other than an idealistic cub scout, in this case, you should believe and rejoice! Not only did they accomplish excavating, removing, and replacing our non-functional pipe for a very competitive price (yes, we shopped around with 4 other estimates), they also completed the job in ONE day. They brought out their whole team so they could get the job completed. I also appreciated that they did not promise a same day job completion, they said it could take 2, and that would have been reasonable. It says a lot about them that they decided to make an effort to get it all completed in one day. I mentioned in the section above that they were very conscientious in terms of excavating the minimal amount of flooring, carefully moving any furniture, etc. They took the time to dig a hill out (manually) and refill it (manually) instead of telling us the only option was to destroy out retaining wall. They even sprayed down the concrete areas on our driveway and patio where any mud had been tracked. Lastly, all of the staff were very upfront, professional, well-informed, patient, and willing to explain any questions we had. During the estimate process they were not pushy and did not try to convince us that unless we hired them immediately, our plumbing system would immediately go bust, which others may or may not have done... In short, A+
Description of Work: Ridgeway was tasked with excavating 2 routes (one through a hardwood floor + the cement foundation of our house, and the other through a substantial embankment near a retaining wall) to extract a non-functional pipe and replace with functional pipe, greater than 20 feet in length. They tool great care to make as minimal damage as possible to the existing hardwood floor and carefully and thoughtfully moved all surrounding furniture. On the other end of the damage, they went the extra mile and used hand tools to manually dig out the hill to the pipe, as the terrain precluded use of larger machinery. They took great care to avoid harming the retaining wall ~ this is noteable, as other companies just told us they'd have to take out the wall, but would take no responsibility for any ensuing damage.

Overall it went well. We had just purchased our first home as a foreclosure, so knew there may be some surprises in the plumbing system. Kevin came out was very straight forward regarding pricing and went right to work locating the leak. He was able to locate the first leak and fixed it right away. Unfortunately the second leak came as a surprise, and I did have some water come through the living room of my house. This job really would have been suited for two plumbers, but Kevin did the best he could to get it cleaned up. We then scheduled for him to come back tomorrow morning to finish the job. The next day he arrived mid afternoon, which worked out better with my schedule, and finished repairing the second and third leak area. After that he dewinterized home and explained common household skills (ex. turning on pilot lights, fixing running toilet), This was very helpful, and he was very open to any questions.
Description of Work: Kevin came out and located 3 different leaks in the new home i purchased. He also dewinterized the home and assisted turning my gas on.

The provider lied to us repeatedly after missing the 2-3 hour time-frame for his arrival to do the job. As I explained above, we, the home owners drove 120 miles roundtrip to be there for the repair and pay the workmen. The tenant who has a cat in the house was there to make sure the cat didn't escape or do whatever cats do to annoy their owners. After the initial time frame had passed and the plumbers were not there we were told that they were 30 minutes away or 40 minutes away but it was all lies. So, the tenant went back to work, we went back to Lake Lanier and with one short call arranged to do the same thing again, but this time we used a reputable company that did a good job and arrived exactly when promised. I had asked my husband to write this review but he kept putting it off. The reason I am writing it now is because my husband's first choice was the plumber he had found in the Brookhaven Buzz. I, thinking I was being smarter than he, said, "NO NO NO," look at all these good reviews on Angie's list. So, he listened to me and chose this Ridgeway??Mechanical that lost him almost a whole day of waiting around, not to mention the gas and miles on the new car and the aggravation. I do not know what else we could have done to get the job done on the wasted day 6/16/13. The owner knew we were coming a great distance and that the tenant had to be there, taking time off from work because of the cat issue. We stayed as long as we possibly could and then had to bale and start all over the next day. Shame on you, Ridgeway Mechanical.
Description of Work: The Ridgeway man knew we would be making a 120 mile roundtrip to take care of an outside leaking faucet on a rental house in Brookhaven. The Ridgeway man knew the tenant had to be there also because of a cat in the house - she does not trust us or anyone else to be in the house with her BOOBOO. We were early for the 2 or 3 hour spread in which the plumbers were to show up. They did not show and we called and called and were always told that they were on the way, that it would just be 30 or 45 more minutes. Finally, the tenant had to return to work which meant we could not let the plumbers in because of the cat. Our 120 mile trip was wasted. The tenant's 3 hours out of the office wasted. The plumbing company we had counted on ---BUSTED. Not ever again.
