Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal, we set up the appointment and agreed that they would call me at least 30 minutes prior to arrival. Well there was a change of plans but NO one called to let me know. The appointment time was about to expire. So I called their office and the person who answered the phone apologized profusely and admitted that it was her fault. We then set the appointment for the next day and the work was done. This was my first experience with this company and chose them based on the reviews on Angie's list. Hopefully for other customers next time there's a change of plans, they'll be more conscientious about earlier communications.

Description of Work: Service call to find and shut off sprinkler valve that irrigation company could not locate. It took them all of two minutes to locate it and fix the problem with the sprinkler system even though they are not a sprinkler system company. On time, under budget, friendly, responsive. Definitely will use them again.

Description of Work: Needed two new 50 gallon water heaters. Also needed extensive repiping to correct original setup. Eddie explained everything that was involved and did an outstanding job. He was very professional and stayed until 8PM to finish the job. Price also includes a new toilet (plus installation) and a new water pressure valve. Would use them again in a heartbeat. They beat a similar quote by over $1000.

Description of Work: Sinks didn't drain, toilets made horrible noise when flushed, no water pressure He discovered our pressure was set too low which when increased eliminated the noise problems. He found a way to fix our kitchen drain without having to replace the disposal. He set all of the sinks to allow for more water to drain when running. All of this was done without having to make additional purchases.

I received a call back from the owner quickly upon my initial contact. They set up a date and time for the work to be completed, and everything went as planned. I would certainly use them again!

 + -1 moreSimply put, I am a raving fan of these guys. The guy who did the work, Mike, was knowledgeable and efficient. Due to a faulty pre-existing shut-off valve, we had a leak that caused some ceiling damage on the 1st floor below the work being done. Without hesitating, Alan (the owner) refused to charge me a dime (even though all work was completed). He also helped me get the ceiling issue fixed. He turned what I believe was a rare mess for him into an extremely positive experience for me. I can't recommend him highly enough. I wish Angie's List allowed me to give A Pluses!

 + -1 moreThe service was excellent. I called, and although it wasn't an emergency, they sent a plumber immediately. I liked the fact that he refused to come in my house with his shoes on, even though I told him it wasn't wet out and I have hardwood floors. He quickly and professionally diagnosed the problem, left to purchase a new disposal and was done in less than an hour. He actually cleaned up a mess that I had made from the leak. He also said there were garbage disposals more expensive, but he felt the mid range one he purchased was of good enough quality... wow... not willing to rip me off! I would definitely call them again.

Description of Work: Replaced broken sewer and water main lines into house. Had to dig up landscaped front yard and go under retaining wall - kept the disturbance to a minimum and not a single plant was lost. Fast work, honest company, will definitely recommend and use again.

 + -1 moreI used Ridgeway Mechanical in an emergency situation on a weekend, no less, when other plumbing companies were quick to tell me of their exhorbiant service charges on the weekend. Alan Ridgeway charges no special charge for the weekend, does a thorough job, knows his business and gives reasonable and quality service. And very personable and trusting, even billed me for the work and I am a first time customer. That impressed me most, his willingness to work in cold temps to fix my problem and trust that he would receive payment from me through billing. Like the good old days when we trust that people will do what they say they will. Alan Ridgeway is on my permanent list of contractors to call for plumbing problems.
Description of Work: Alan and his crew replaced a drainage water pipe leading from the water meter to inside my basement level of a rental house. I have tenants living in the house, and they discovered a leak in the drainage pipe (galvanized) on a Saturday. By Sunday morning, the problem was corrected. Ridgeway Mechanical replaced my galvanized pipe with a new PE pipe made to last past my life time, hand digging ground in snowy weather (the weekend that Atlanta got some snow). And most amazing of all, with no extra charge for the weekend hours. My tenants are happy, and I was so relieved to find someone to attend my problem so promptly and efficiently. I was also a first customer, and will definitely be a second and third if necessary as my husband and I own a collection of rental properties. Needless to say, I am glad to find Alan and include him on my list of people to call for plumbing repairs.

AFTER DISCOVERING THAT THE MAIN WATER LINE TO OUR HOUSE HAD BURST ON A TUESDAY, AND GETTING ALAN'S NAME FROM ANOTHER ANGIE'S LIST CONTRACTOR (WITH AN OVERALL A GRADE), I SPOKE WITH ALAN THAT NIGHT. HE IS AN AUTHORITY ON REPLACING ''BLUE POLY'' WATER LINES (WHICH APPARENTLY BURST OFTEN ENOUGH TO HAVE SPARKED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT), HAVING REPLACED 20,000+ LINES. ALAN CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY (AT THE TIME HE SAID HE WOULD), QUOTED ME A REASONABLE PRICE ON THE SPOT, AND COMPLETED THE WORK THAT SAME DAY. ALAN IS EXPERIENCED, PROFESSIONAL, AND RESPONSIVE.
