On the day of the break they came and made an estimate. At noon the following day they began the actual work which was estimated to take about four hours. However they ran into obstacles as they began to dig the trench; for instance a nearby tree had grown large roots around and over the underground parts of the meter. They worked without finishing until 10:30 pm. They returned about 11:00 am the next morning after having gone to two or three commercial plumbing supply companies to find a part they needed to complete the job. By 1:00 pm the job was completed and the area was cleaned up even more nicely than when they began. Throughout the job they were polite and informative and worked very hard the whole time. At bill paying time there was no attempt to increase the cost to me despite it taking many more hours than estimated. I feel very satisfied regarding with both the cost and the quality of work.

Couldn't be more pleased. They came early next morning after I called. Found out through video that root problem was coming from county pipe. Another plumber who thankfully didn't show had given me an estimate over double what I payed (I requested video camera, otherwise job would have cost even less). They spent their time to correct the problem in an older home for a very fair and reasonable price. Got Ridgeway Mechanical from Angie's List. Be smart and get them too!

Like most things, when the repairman arrives there is no problem but Alen didn't give up until he found the leak. He replaced the old chrome pipes with PVC and even replaced the drain in one side. The work looks great and there is no more leak, and Alen didn't leave me with a mess to clean up either. I plan on calling again for my next repair or whatever plumbing work I need done. I am sure I would have paid more with someone else. I called and they came out early the next morning, when it was convenient for me, so I didn't have to take any time off from work. Even with the bad weather, they arrived on time, worked quickly, and I was only ten minutes later than normal getting to work. I definitely recommend this company.

I called Ridgeway and talked to Sal who had done some work for me on my hot water heaters about six months ago. Sal agreed to come on Saturday to fit my schedule and was exactly on time. He did a great job. He fixed the clogged pipes and explained the way my drain pipes worked and how to prevent problems in the future. He also found and fixed another unrelated problem left by a plumber in an earlier renovation project.

Had a couple of scheduling issues at first but after that was resolved Mr. Ridgeway was very prompt and professional and the job only took a couple of hours to complete. He also told me how to have the charges on my water bill adjusted to what it should have been before the break. I was very satisfied with the entire process and will use this company again when services are needed. Thanks Ridgeway.

Mr. Alan Ridgeway did the job the same day that I called him. The work was done very professionally and quickly...approx. 1 1/2 hours...cleaned up very nicely after the work was done. I am very satisfied and will use this company again.

I called Allen after discovering that the previous plumber had patched one hole in the line and made the problem worse. Not to mention they cut off my water and I missed a day at work. Salvador showed up the next day on time, dug trenches, and replaced the infamous blue pipe with black PVC. Salvador was finished within 2 hours and also gave me great advice about my antiquated irrigation system. Believe me when I say that I will be calling this company for ALL of my plumbing needs.

Mr.Ridgeway came to my house for an emergency repair: a suspected water main break. Upon arrival, he examined the my home's plumbing from the street to my basement. Mr. Ridgeway checked EVERYTHING. However, the problem was not with my plumbing but the city water/sanitation service. After making sure my water was back on, Mr. Ridgeway told me all about my home's plumbing construction and what repairs I could expect in the future. He was very thorough and honest. And, although he spent an hour at my home he didn't charge me a dime. He's my plumber from now on! Thanks for such wonderful service!

I never got a phone call back and we were trying to get a gas log set installed.

They came out to look at my leak even though they knew I would be at work all day. Upon examining the break they determined that whoever installed the septic line back when the house was being built had broken the main water line and performed a cheap fix using PVC pipe that later broke. They quoted me $150 to repair it the way it should have been done in the first place and proceeded fix the obvious leak (water gushing out in the yard). When that was fixed they still saw the meter moving indicating another leak somewhere. They located the leak and said they would fix it for $50. They kept me updated on their progress and allowed me to pay by credit card all over the phone. I came home to find no leaks and a paid invoice for $200 on my door. They even wrote out a detailed description of the problem and work done so I could turn it in and be reimbursed by my home warranty. These guys are super professional and I would recommend them to anyone who needs underground plumbing work done!

Alan gave us an estimate that was competitive with everyone I spoke with. His plumbers who did the work arrived when they said they would. Did the work in the time they said they would. They were clean, professional and very good overall. Alan obviously has loyalty to customers as well. Several months later I had an unrelated plumbing problem that caused me to have to shut my water off. I called him for help at 7:30 in the morning. He was at my house an hour later. I highly recommend them.

Alan Ridgeway gave me a price over the phone. He arranged for the installation a couple days later. Salvatore was on time and cleaned up afterwards. The water heater works fine.

The staff was Sol. He is a very likable guy, and he did a great job. He did timely service, and he had the materials necessary to complete the job. The price was fair and not more than expected. Interestingly, they charge by the job and not by the hour. I think I may have been charged on the basis of a back-of-the-envelope ''what's a fair price'' analysis. I did not get an estimate before the visit, and although the price was fair, this will have me asking more questions next time I need them. He did honor the 10% coupon on the website (saved me $27.50). He left a small mess behind and lost a screw (requiring me to go to Home Depot to replace), but it's not a big deal. Sol was honest, very nice, and competent.

This is the 2nd time we have used Alan Ridgeway's Company. We have been extremely satisfied both times. Alan was prompt. He put in the time to diagnose and fix the problem. There certainly is a big difference between $200 and a possible $6000. The thing that we most appreciate is Alan's honesty. He was willing to do the detective work necessary to fix our problem.

Alan Ridgeway called the same day I called in for service. He tried to see if one of his plumbers could come out that evening, but as it was getting late he offered to come out first thing the next morning. He was on time for the appointment. He was very careful with his equipment and even wore protective booties over his shoes. He was successful in unclogging my toilet. He was reasonably priced and very polite, and did not make me feel as though he was in a rush. He took time to answer some questions I had. I would definitely call his company again if I should need plumbing services and would recommend his company to anyone who needs plumbing services.

The toilet started to leak again and I had called Ridge way and talked to Allen who had told me a few different scenarios that I may have. I had asked him to send someone out again to just install a new toilet and he told me that it would be another $300 on top of the $125 that I had already paid them. I had told him that they didn't fix it the first time and that it is still leaking. I don't know whether or not I will use them for the new toilet.

I called that morning around 8:30am and Mark arrive at 11:30. It took him about 1.5 hours to do the job. He was very nice and professional. He also inspected the basement water damage and advised me on what to do.

He did a great job. Removed the old heater and left the place very clean. He also repaired my bathroom.

They were late getting here but said a truck broke down. Once they arrived the work was great!

Salvador, the plumber, was on time at 7 am and very polite. The work was completed to my satisfaction. I would definitely use this company again.

Allen Ridgeway was very responsive to my calls and his employee did the work well, as far as I can tell. Ridgeway Mechanical underbid a competitor by $700, which I appreciated, but when I asked for an itemized invoice, he provided an invoice but didn't break down costs by labor and material. When I asked him to do so after the job had been completed, he refused, saying that his company no longer provided that detail. The job took about five hours plus one hour for his diagnostic visit, and I doubt the materials cost more than $200 tops, if that (30' of CPVC pipe and fittings), so that means they got around $165 an hour for labor, which seems very steep to me.

Salvadore arrived 15 minutes early to replace our leaking street-to-house water line. He worked diligently for several hours trying to locate the "old" line, but it was buried too deep. He decided to replace the entire line with a brand-new polyethylene line. I was amazed at the quick response when I phoned Ridgeway late Friday afternoon and Tiffany said a technician would be out to repair/replace our line Saturday at 7:30 a.m. I can't say enough good things about the service, courtesy, and fair pricing on this job. I highly recommend them!

Great experience, didn't charge extra for being a Saturday (holiday weekend). Work was performed quickly and professionally and the final price was what was quoted over the phone.

Alan took the time to listen to me on the phone and didn't assume that I was ignorant just because I was a woman. I know now a lot more about how plumbing works, thanks to his professional explanations. I thought the rate was reasonable, as well.
