Excel Carpet provided an estimate for new carpet in our four bedrooms and play room. They were by far the most prompt of all of the companies I called. I called on a Friday, and they sent someone by on the following Monday to do an estimate. Other companies took over a week to get an estimator to our house. After taking measurements, we looked at samples and picked a mid range carpet and received a VERY nice bid. When we saw a nicer carpet from a competitor, we were about to go with the other company since Excel didn't stock that brand. However, Dave, the Excel rep, worked with Shaw carpet to determine the exact match for the carpet, had a sample sent directly to us to confirm (the competitor had a specific "model" name that only THEY sold from Shaw, so Dave had to do work to find out what the type was called that Shaw sold through other vendors), and then provided a bid. The bids were almost identical, but we picked Excel because we felt the reps knew more about carpet than the other company. Plus, Excel ended up coming in lower after we talked about items like padding and such. I wasn't necessarily looking for a better price, but with the identical carpet from two competing companies, the differentiators are price, service, installation, padding, and knowledge. Excel ended up beating the competition on all of those items. Excel was able to get the carpet in a matter of days (competitor had said it would be "weeks" to get it). The install took a LONG day, but they did get it done. Plus, Excel never griped once about moving furniture. We had a large air hockey table. The competitor would expressly NOT move it. Excel merely asked that I remove the legs. I did (placed it on saw horses), and their installers moved it without complaint. We are so pleased with the carpet. It's from Shaw, has a lifetime stain and wear warranty, and is quite nice to the touch. We also went with a very nice padding...extruded foam. The padding had a lifetime warranty as well and really has a nice impact on the feel of the carpet. We've only had to test the stain repellant once when one of my sons spilled milk in his room. It beaded up like water on a freshly waxed car, and we just blotted it up. No stain at all! This was the first time I've ever had to buy carpet. I think it will be the last time for this house, but if we ever move and ever have to get carpet again, I'll use Excel most definitely. You cannot go wrong with them!

I selected Excel after reading reviews on Angie's List and was quite pleased. The technician was on time, very efficient and professional. He took care of moving the furniture, stretching the carpet where needed, and lastly clean-up and vacuuming. Overall excellent service!

They took out the old carpet and put new carpet. They were fast and they gave me the best price quote out of the other companies that I looked at. They had the best prices and they stuck with the quote after they did the work. The service was prompt and they were professional. Their clean up was on par and there was no mess left behind.

A pleasant experience from start to finish. Took their sales advice for carpet selection suited for rental and it turned out great. The installers came on time, worked fast and were professional. From the start to finish, there was good communication and follow up. This was my first contractor chosen from AL and I could not be happier.

My salesman, Jonathan, showed up on time and was helpful in picking out the carpet. He was patient and he made an extra trip when my wife had other ideas. The installation was scheduled around my schedule. The installers were punctual and did an excellent job. We are both pleased with the finished product.

I liked the salesman?s personality. It was for a rental carpet, so it was a really cheap carpet, but the carpet looks beautiful. Their pricing seemed a little expensive. I would look at other companies as far as the pricing goes.

They did a fantastic job. I was extremely happy with them. Another company walked away from my job because they didn't provide the type of flooring that I wanted. This company was very responsive and they had it done within a week. They followed up with me, and I love the floors. I was happy with everything they did.

The customer service experience was great from the first phone call to the company to get an estimate. When Jonathan came out to give me an estimate he was extremely informative and explained all the different types of carpet as well as the pros and cons of each. He was also very patient and did his best to help us choose a color and style that would meet all of our needs. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to ensure we understood completely before making a decision. He wasn't pushy and didn't seem bothered when I said I wanted to take a day to make a decision. That alone gave me a good feeling about the company. I did get 1 other estimate and they were more than Excel, although Excel does have a policy that they will beat any competitor price. I requested that I get a call when the installers were headed to the property, but they didn't call me. I called Jonathan and explained the situation. He said he would follow up with them to ensure they called me when they were close to being done. In addition to them calling me about 30minutes prior as I requested, Jonathan also called me about 1hr prior to keep in the loop. It's customer service like that , that makes a difference!!!! Overall it was a great experience. The installation was done quickly and the carpet looks great.

Overall, Excel has been an excellent company to work with. Both Jonathan and Craig were friendly and professional!

Installation went fine but within about 2 weeks, I noticed tears in the linoleum. It turns out, I wasn't supposed to move furniture on the linoleium for at least 2 weeks but the installer didn't make that clear to me. Their supervisor came here for inspection and had someone make all the repairs necessary. Have had no problems since.

Don Carlos and his nephew, Marcos, did a perfectionist job of removing, cleaning, and seamlessly fitting our new carpet. It was a very difficult pattern on the carpet, but these craftsmen did such a good job that we could not see the carpet seams anywhere in the room. They moved all furniture out of the room and carefully returned it to their location when finished. Thank you Jonathan (Excel rep) for your patience and for selecting such a professional team as Don Carlos and Marcos.

Floors were installed in a week. The installers for the wood flooring brought the wood three days prior to installation. A day before they were to install, my husband decided he wanted a small area included. The wood was brought and installed without a problem. The installers were very efficient and neat. They were very careful not to leave any marks on the wall. Everything was left clean. The next day the carpet installers came and did a great job of installing the carpet in the master bedroom and on the stairs. The only criticism would be the carpet installers did nothing to protect the wood floors downstairs or the new wood floor on the landing. They walked through without putting down any protection (it had been raining) Then they placed heavy tools on the new landing and on the downstairs wooden floors without putting down anything under them. Overall we were extremely pleased with the service.

Although we ended up going with a different vendor, we would definitely consider using Excel in the future. We were very impressed with the professionalism and experience of the person who came to measure and estimate the work. We appreciated his very detailed approach and clear explanations so that we could compare apples to apples when planning our project. The pricing was extremely competitive with the company we chose and it was a tough decision on our part.

Their rep who came to our house was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. He answered all our questions. We got a quote and requested samples. Samples did not come. We did get a few follow up calls from their office checking up on their rep's performance and asking if they could do anything else. The calls weren't too frequent or pesky. They could have followed through more without being a pain.

An absolutely great company to work with. We had our work done on 2 separate occasions just to split the cost for us. Excel ordered numerous samples to be delivered to our home so that we could see them in our light. After deciding on carpet and tile, the installation was complete within 2 weeks (one carpet was new and took a little longer to come in). We were very pleased with the help we received in the showroom, the installers in our home, and the follow-up after the job was complete to be sure we were pleased. Excel's prices were better than other well-known carpet showrooms in Atlanta that carry comparable carpet, and I shopped them all! You will not be disappointed with Excel, and the customer service is wonderful.

Excel did an excellent job. We just purchased the home and they were able to install the carpet before our furniture arrived. They were able to turn around our order in a VERY short time. They even helped my husband identify the carpet we should use and matched a sample from Home Depot. The installers were on time, efficient and very professional. The carpet looks great!

Sales associates, as usual, were professional and affable. Installers, however, were sloppy, unprofessional and disinclined toward problem solving. Their actions (throwing carpet from my windows to their truck - 30+ feet below! Along with a host of other absurdities) resulted in multiple complaints from my neighbors and the threat of fines from the Managing Agent. To their credit, management did attempt to resolve these issues. However, my overall experience with this company is negative.

Fantastic. Phone inquiries were answered promptly and professionally. Their office manager was pleasant, and professional. They gave me a price per yard which allowed me to measure and get a ball park estimate myself. When I called to schedule, again, easy with no problems. They said they would call on Monday to firm up the time, and they did. They arrived on time as scheduled, and accommodated the time of day we requested. They measured first and firmed up the price--which was more reasonable than other estimates we'd gotten. Work was done quickly, efficiently, A-OK. Workers were pleasant, professional. Great job with minimal disruption.

A salesperson (Russ) came to my home to see the space and show me samples. He was friendly yet professional and helped me find the right carpet for my needs and price range. The installers arrived on time on the date we arranged and went right to work. They were very helpful and moved all the things that I couldn't manage. I had a few questions about installation that they answered to my satisfaction. The carpet looks wonderful and the sales manager stopped by right as they finished to check on the job. They did a few extra touches on things that I hadn't even noticed and then the sales manager went out of his way to help me reconnect my entertainment center and make sure everything was working. It was way above and beyond. I am very happy with the job and the price! I had priced carpet at Home Depot before I called Excel and was thinking of having my own installer come out because I had a bad experience with Home Depot in the past. I am so glad I found Excel on Angie's List and just let them do the whole job! They were lower priced than Home Depot and the installers were not subcontractor's but employees of Excel. They were so much better than Home Depot! These people are great! I will be using them again when I have my living room and dining room carpeted later this summer.

The estimate was right on the money. I was given plenty of options towards what I wanted in the space. The gentleman who gave me the quote also gave me good information as to how to remove some lingering pet odors in one spot. He offered their services to do it if I wanted to supply the materials (a couple of cans of specific, primer spray paint) or, he said, I could do it ahead of time, which I did to save time. The quote was for removal and disposal, padding, and installation. They could've started the job within several days of the quote, but my schedule prohibited the start for over a week. A single installer was sent to do the job which was adequate. The installer was on time, very nice, and professional. He worked diligently to complete the job. The installer showed up in an unmarked van, so I wasn't sure who was pulling into the driveway until I saw the company logo on his shirt, hence the B on professionalism. His attitude, demeanor, and work ethic were top notch. The installer did a great job; I'm very pleased with the end result. A few days later, I received a card thanking me for my business and the receipt for the exact amount quoted. Judging from other reviews, I think I received a good value.

The sales representative was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The company was very efficient and happily scheduled our appointment for a Saturday. The crew that came out to install the carpet was fantastic; they were all very professional, friendly, careful of our belongings, and flexible. They even worked with us on camouflaging a basement door in the floor and were willing to brainstorm and think out of the box about how to use the carpet to make the door look a little less obvious! When they replaced the furniture, it was almost exactly where we originally had it. They paid attention to detail and cleaned up every last bit, even vacuuming a step vertically. We would hire this company again in a second. After a very unsatisfying experience with a different company putting in a bathroom this past summer, we were so thrilled and relieved to work with such a great group this time around for this project, restoring our faith in contractors and home repairs!

Excel did an excellent job, they were neat and professional. The job was finished quickly and the men were respectful of my home and moved all the furniture to clean under it. I was very pleased with them and the carpet looks like new.

Came out on Saturday afternoon for estimate, had samples and recommendations (seemed to know almost immediately what we wanted), gave us a price on the spot (have friends in the business and their price was right on). Sent more samples in the mail. We had interior painting to be done and decided to wait until painting was finished before putting down new carpet. They followed up discretely for several months. We decided to do it five months later. Price was still good. Installed the next week. Excellent crew. Beautiful job. Paid by AX credit card (all majors accepted). Excellent service, price, carpet and installation. A very pleasant experience!
