Everything went really well, and the whole process greatly reduced my stress and anxiety of the costs of operating our new home. The energy assessment for the home was super thorough including a report with thermal imaging of our home’s problems as well as a breakdown of our issues organized by priority level. Upon following the recommended corrections, including but not limited to attic sealing and insulation work performed by Energy Conservation Solutions, we have seen a dramatic decrease in our utility bills. Not only are we saving money, we are making a smaller impact on the environment and both of those results feel great. Everyone we spoke to through ECS was friendly, professional, and quick to respond whenever we had any inquiries at all. In addition to everything else mentioned above, Energy Conservation Solutions also handled submitting our home improvement investments to the power company to get us a hefty rebate on the work we had performed. Our home desperately needed correcting, and we didn’t know what to do. ECS pointed us in the right direction and our savings have been remarkable because of it. The work done will pay for itself and as I said, the planet is better off for it.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Energy Conservation Solutions. I look for quality, price, friendliness, and punctuality. All of these criteria were satisfied. I had the insulation blown in and my old insulation removed. Afterwards, a supervisor came by to inspect. I was also eligible for a rebate, which slipped my mind. I greatly appreciated Shane sending me an email reminding me of it.

The work was done quickly, as scheduled, and everyone was very professional and great to work with. Everyone was great about answering our questions and we learned a lot about how to decrease our energy costs in the long run. I really appreciated their expertise and professionalism, and I'm glad to have the energy audit report to refer to. I would highly recommend ECS to anyone.

Very tough choice but I felt another contractor would be better for this project. Very touch choice but for this specific project... we will see. I'll still keep their contact info for future quotes.

The overall experience went quite well. Shane Matteson, the VP of Energy Conservation Solutions, came to my house and provided a quote to install insulation in the attic. He was very knowledgeable in different insulation materials and provided a good explanation as to how the work would be completed. He also explained that by having new insulation installed in the attic, the home's energy efficiency would improve and I would be illegible for a rebate. Shane was very flexible on scheduling the installation time. In fact, after we had agreed on a particular date, something came up and I had to reschedule the appointment. He was very understanding and more than welling to set up another time. On the day of installation, Shane arrived on time while the crew contracted to do the work showed up 45 minutes late. Apparently there was some miss-communication on where and when the crew was supposed to show. He apologized for this and had the crew install 12" of insulation instead of the original 10" at no extra cost. After the work was complete, Shane filled out the paperwork for the energy efficiency rebate and I received a check two weeks later for $300.

I have owned a house for three years that was built in 1993 and had a huge problem with being cold in the winter (especially downstairs) and warm in the summer (especially upstairs). I have only one furnace and one A/C unit, which I know is an anomaly in Georgia for a 2300 square foot/two level house. I received an insert with my Georgia Power bill about the energy audit program and used Angie's List to vet several of the companies listed and decided on Energy Conservation Solutions based on a "Clark Howard" video they had on their website. I called ECS and talked at length with Shane, who was very easy to work with. I scheduled all of the visits to my house (there were four separate interactions) and they were always very flexible -- everything was planned based on my schedule and they always showed up on time. Pete and Jeremy were the two men who did my energy audit and they were promptly on time and Pete explained everything they were doing and explained my results. They did a thorough job of going through my house and testing for air leaks, looking at my HVAC system, duct work, bathroom exhaust fans, insulation, fireplace chimney, windows, etc. I was also sent the formal report via email, along with the recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of my house. The audit cost was $350 -- ECS submitted the paperwork to Ga Power and I received a check from them for half the cost -- $175 -- about 4 weeks later. I received an proposal to complete the recommended work from ECS and decided some of them were easy enough to do myself for a much lower cost -- i.e. calking around the baseboards of my outside walls, foaming the holes around my plumbing pipes to keep air from entering around the pipes and having my own HVAC company doing the efficiency check on my furnace/AC units. I also had to change most of my light bulbs out to the new CFL or LED bulbs, which are much MUCH more energy efficient. The final number of bulbs that I changed was about 35. I had thought that the new bulbs would not provide the amount of light I was used to but I honestly have not noticed much difference other than the CFL bulbs are dimmer when you first turn them on. The cost of the light bulb change-out was probably around $200 (I got everything off Amazon.com where they were much cheaper than in the stores). The other items on the list I had ECS do and the total was $2650. Included in the work I had done was having an extra foot of insulation blown into my attic (which was done by an outside company, but Shane was there while the work was done), having my duct work in the attic repaired and sealed, having a blanket installed on my water heater, having seals installed on my outside doors to minimize air leakage, having the furnace registers and cold air returns sealed, having an attic tent installed to keep air from coming down into the house, having my bathroom ceiling fans vented outside, having a chimney balloon installed in my fireplace chimney, along with a few other items. I did have an issue with the quality on one of the items they performed, but ECS was very responsive and returned the next day to fix the problem. Shane made sure he was there and they walked me through every other improvement they did to make sure that all the other work was acceptable to me. They were extremely apologetic and I was very happy with their reaction to my complaint. Again ECS did the paperwork and I am expecting a check from Ga Power for approximately 50% of the cost of the improvement work and I will also receive a tax break for doing these improvements Finally, ECS returned a week later and performed the same air leakage test that they performed during the initial energy audit and my home had gone from the 49th percentile (meaning 49% of houses in the US had worse energy efficiency and 51% of houses had better energy efficiency) to a new rating of 82 -- my house was now more energy efficient than 82% of houses in the US. My electrical usage on the Ga Power bills has gone down each month since the work was finished and I expect that will continue. I would highly recommend ECS to anyone who is looking to make their house more energy efficient. I will be living in this house for another 3 to 5 years and expect that I am easily going to recoup the costs of everything I paid out to ECS.

The first day the crew removed the old insulation from all ducting and plenums. Then all registers and connections were sealed with mastic . Next the recessed canisters (11) were covered with TenMat covers and sealed with spray foam. The second day another crew came in to do the spraying of foam on the entire ducting system. Also the doors were weatherstripped as necessary. All registers were sealed with mastic on the first floor (lower system). The band boards on the second floor were also covered with spray foam, where accessible. Excellect job by all. Clean up was finished before the crew left each day..

Shane was a pleasure to work with. I already had another company do a complete energy audit for my house, but decided to have ECS perform all of the recommended improvements. Shane was very responsive to all my questions and came up with a proposal for improvements that would give me the best return for my investment. In addition he helped me to submit the rebate paperwork to Georgia Power to get my rebate. All of the employees that did the very extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. I would highly recommend using them to improve the energy efficiency in your house. A+ for service and results.

We are very pleased with the results of this project. The energy audit revealed what we had suspected, that our home had not been well-built and was quite "leaky". Shane was responsive in answering all our questions during the planning phase and was patient as we considered various options. The ECS employees were very pleasant to work with and were reliable about what they said they would do. They dealt with the occasional glitches in the project quickly. The difference in the comfort level of our home is impressive. We spent the summer of 2011 sweltering because of 28 year old HVAC equipment and poor insulation. ECS did their work in April, 2012 and this past summer our home has been a joy - and our HVAC bill has gone down (most notably from $278 in July 2011 to $118 in July 2012). An added benefit was that they filled out most of the forms for rebates for which we qualified.

ECS first performed an energy audit on our newly purchased home, which resulted in a prioritized listing of recommended improvements. Secondly, they worked with me to figure out the best way for the work to get done, allowing me to perform some, their guys performing some, and sub-contracting out other portions of the work to an excellent contractor (Insulation). Finally, they helped to file the necessary paperwork for the associated rebates. Throughout the entire process, they have been extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with, making everything easy and understandable. I wholeheartedly recommend their services and their company for anyone who wants an easy to work with company capable of solving your energy conservation needs.

Great! I really, really like the ECS guys and would wholeheartedly recommend them and use them again. They were more than responsive to our questions and feedback (and we had a lot) and were very mindful of our home, our time, and our pets. The work was done within the timeframe given (and when it took longer they were very upfront about it), changes were dealt with professionally, and they were all around just great to work with. Very pleased with the work that was done.
