I worked with ECS to have an energy audit done of my new home, and then worked with them to have some of the recommended upgrades done to improve energy efficiency. They were professional and responsive to all of my questions, and they walked me through a number of different options. In the end, I didn't choose to implement all of the changes that they recommended, but they still reduced the air leakage of my home by 21%, even coming back to take care of a few items that the work crew discovered while they were on site.

Shane, Wes & team were top notch. True pros. Attic and basement insulated in a few hours time. When they were done Shane helped me by filing for the GA Power Rebate, which I successfully received ~6 weeks later.

Excellent experience with my energy audit with ECS. The audit report and recommendations for improvements were very clear and easy to follow. I was able to use these as a guide to do much of the efficiency improvements myself over the course of a year. You'll learn a lot about your house in the process. Shane responded quickly to all my emails and even scheduled a last-minute test out just in time to meet the deadline for the whole house rebate (which I qualified for)! Highly recommend.

The energy audit by William was thorough and incredibly informative. He took his time and explained everything to us. The report was complete and comprehensive. Shane was incredibly helpful in helping us with information and the rebates we earned. We got our inspection rebate quite quickly and Shane helped us with our other rebate. Cannot recommend them high enough for this type of work. They earned a 5 star rating from us for sure.

Representative that conducted the audit was very kind and professional. The result of the audit was an actionable scope of work that was conducted by a sealing and insulation company recommended by ECS. Even though they gave me the option to take this list to anyone I wanted to, I trusted their recommendation, which turned out to be the right decision. This sealing and insulation company’s work resulted in a 21 percent reduction in the air sealing of of the building envelope, qualifying us for a rebate from Georgia Power. This was a provable figure as they ran a blower test upon completion of their work. The numbers don’t lie. ECS then took it upon themselves to submit these results to GA Power so I did not have to lift a finger to receive rebates for both the audit itself and the improvements to air sealing of the house. Peace of mind knowing that our home is significantly more sealed off from the elements given its age. Worth every penny. Highly recommended!

From the initial energy audit, to walking through potential energy saving measures, to the final spray foam insulation installation, these guys were prompt and did great work. Would highly recommend!

I am very happy with the work that was done, and highly recommend Shane and the team for home energy audits and related services. I had work done last January, and waited to write a review until I was able to see the entire rebate process with GA Power, as well as see the impact of changes (most notably, insulation) on the comfort of my home and on my monthly power usage through some cold and hot weather. Everyone I dealt with was punctual and professional, very knowledgeable and happy to share detailed info with me. I had a completely smooth process, and I'm pleased with the noticeably better functioning of my HVAC, both in terms of having a more comfortable living space and in terms of seeing a reduction in my power bills across seasons. If you are thinking about doing this kind of work on your home, I highly recommend it, and recommend using this company.

Shane and the staff of Energy Consulting Services were professional, responsive, and super-helpful. The process and recommendations for improvements were straightforward. They walked me through what I needed to do to increase the energy efficiency of my house and made sure all the paperwork was submitted for us to earn a rebate from Georgia Power. They really are energy efficiency experts.

My project started with the belief that I needed to address some heating and cooling issues in an upstairs addition that was done before I bought the house – couldn’t keep cool in the summer or warm in the winter. After having contacted a couple of HVAC contractors, they were happy to quote for replacing the upstairs system but were reluctant to talk about other related measures like insulation, which were not offered by their companies. They were staying firmly in their lane and I needed some advice. I wasn’t convinced that increasing the size of the upstairs HVAC unit was the answer - sure, it could pump more conditioned air into the upstairs bedrooms, but could the building envelope contain it and what would it do to my power and gas bills... I decided to go a different route and start with an energy assessment. For a nominal fee (relative to an HVAC replacement) they spent a few hours running tests at the house. Their comprehensive report focused on what I could do to improve energy efficiency, which is what I really wanted! The upstairs HVAC unit was actually fit for purpose and had plenty of life left in it; what they advised was replacing the insulation in the loft with a higher R-value that was appropriate for use at the roof, and addressing leaky ducts. They also focused more on my downstairs HVAC unit and water heater. While they worked, they were 20 years old each. Energy Consulting Services came back out after I had the work completed to test the efficiency improvements – significant! And they have filed for the relevant rebates with Georgia Power on my behalf, which made things easy. Carrying out the work was an investment (I knew it would be), but having had Energy Consulting Services come at it from an energy efficiency perspective made me comfortable and confident that I had the right scope of work and that my home is a lot more energy efficient and comfortable!

Communication was clear and they delivered on what they proposed. We have seen immediate cost savings due to the efficiency improvements we completed.

Shane Matteson and the staff from Energy Consultative Services took the time to discuss what we needed to make are home more energy efficient. They completed a thoroughly inspection and provided me their assessment. Shane let us know what we needed to do to meet Georgia Power requirements for a home energy rebate. They assisted me with the Georgia Power rebate program. After we had completed the needed repairs and upgrades they returned and performed the test out. They completed the necessary documentation and I received $1,250.00 from Georgia Power. I highly recommend that you use Energy Consultative Services.

Everything was great! Both the energy audit and the suggested repairs were quick, professional, and done with great service. Shane was very responsive and helped us get all our rebates as soon as he could. The work was high quality and our home is more comfortable and more energy efficient. I've already referred a friend.

No more cold floors! My baby girl is finally happy with her warm feets! With one simple call Shane was knocking on my door the next day and reviewed my projects. Both of which were a little complicated and needed expertise in energy efficiency, heat transfer, and all that. The first floor of my main house was cold all the time despite having the crawl space spray foamed 10 years ago. We crawled and he pointed out all the patchy and thin parts and showed me how the original spray job was done poorly and pulling away from the joists. Basically it was a bad job and I just didn't know it. Lesson here, just having someone come out and spray your crawl space doesn't mean it's done right. I felt comfortable that after Shane's recommendations it would all be fixed. I also needed the roof and walls of the carriage house I'm building sprayed. Shane explained to me how best to go about the project. It was interesting because I had other strictly spray foam people out to look at the project and they looked at it from "how can I sell him on my product" point of view, while Shane looked at it from a "what is the most energy efficient" point of view. After evaluating the project, Shane sent Wes by, who runs the sprayfoam crew. Wes is the most engaged contractor I've ever worked with. He not only walked the project with interest and hearing my concerns, but looked at each individual problem and we talked though solutions. Then he even called a week after the job to see if my floors were still cold. This never happens! A contractor following up with you to make sure you are happy with the work. Brilliant! I had 5 contractors come look at the projects. A couple of them right off the bat were obviously not at all knowledgeable about energy efficiency and just wanted to spray foam without understanding energy efficiency. A couple were super expensive and probably just overspray houses at an extra cost so they hopefully don't get complaints. And then there was Energy Consulting, which was the perfect fit. A knowledgeable person sending an engaged contractor who did the right job for the right price. TLDR: If you care about energy efficiency you'll want to talk to Shane. He'll make your bills cheaper, and more importantly, your house more comfortable. Also, don't mess around with the spray guys who just want to spray and scram. You'll end up spraying again 10 years later so your girlfriend can be happy with her bare feet in the kitchen. It's been 2 months with warm floors. I'll let you guys know how I feel again in a few years. Worth the upgrade so far.

They came when promised and provided excellent customer service.

Could not have gone better. They offered me a Good, Better, and Best estimate, did a home energy audit on my house, helped me get rebates from Georgia Power. Really efficient, requiring very little effort on my part. I feel so much better knowing my home is well insulated now.
