It was great! Cunningham was the only company to provide an estimate over the phone, and it responded quickly. Furthermore, the owner himself came out to do the installation, and I really appreciated that the process went smoothly and quickly since my parents are elderly and had been without air conditioning for several days.

Issac (one of the reps) came out within 2 hours of my service call and fixed a thermostat that was incorrectly wired by a previous bad AC repair man (from a different company). They are nice and professional and I was able to get $20 off my first time service. I will certainly use them again if I need to!

My A/C unit was not operating so I hired Cunningham to fix the unit. The provider did not come at the specified time, and when I called an hour later to find out the status, I was told another job was running late. That's OK, but I think it would have been nice if they had called to give me a heads-up. That's just good customer service. The technician who came to perform the service was very nice and appeared quite capable. He entered the attic to examine the unit, and immediately noticed that the switch to the unit had been turned off. Apparently the Comcast cable guy who came out several days earlier had inadvertently turned the switch. So, with a simple flick of a switch, the A/C powered on and resumed working as it always had. Needless to say, I was a little peeved that I had to take off a day from work and pay a technician to flick a switch, all because of Comcast, but that's how it goes. The job was done and I was charged $145. for the work. The breaks down as $65 for the service call and $80 for the repair. Apparently they charge $40 for every 15 minutes. I have no problem paying for the service call, and although all the technician did was flip a switch, I had no problem paying for the first $40. I fail to see why I was charged for an additional 15 minutes. I suppose I was also charged for the time it took to complete the invoice. He was in and out within 20 minutes. I didn't think arguing with the guy about the extra 15 minutes was worth the time and energy. $145 to flick a switch. I fail to understand why a company would prefer to pocket an extra $40 instead of potentially picking up a new long-term customer. It's very short-sighted and I feel scammed. Never again.

LOVE this company! Became aware of them about 6 years ago when both A/C units went out. Of course it was during the summer and an unusually hot one at that. A neighbor recommended them after we had talked to R.S. Andrews and a few other companies for quotes. R.S. Andrews quoted us something ridiculous to replace both units, maybe around $6k. I felt the salesman was very pushy with me too, going on and on about getting a Trane A/C. Then I spoke with Bob Cunningham, the owner, and he was the total opposite of the R.S. Andrews guy. Not pushy and much more practical!!! They ended up replacing 1 unit (not a Trane, but same manufacturers) and using parts from the broken unit to replace the other unit!!! It was wonderful!!! We paid less than half the other quotes! I know nothing about A/C's and had already thought we needed to replace both units-- they could've easily done that, made more money, and I would've not known any better. But instead they offered a better plan for me in just repairing one and replacing the other. Since then we have had them come out 2x year to maintain the A/C and heaters and again, I've never had a service guy tell me I needed this part or that unless it was necessary and it's always an easy fix, thank God. They never try to upgrade anything or sell me anything new. I always recommend them when someone I know needs A/C or heater work done.
Description of Work: Cunningham and Associates have been doing our bi-annual A/C & heater maintenance for 6 years. They also replaced & repaired our A/C units about 6 years ago.

Scheduling and the services were easy, the technician was friendly, helpful and informative. I was pleased and have a new A/C repair firm.
Description of Work: One of the two units in my home was malfunctioning and I had pledged never to use my former A/C firm again, so I found Cunningham in Angie's List and gave them a call. They inspected my system and realized it simply needed a charge. This took two visits since the first day they came, it was too cool to charge the unit effectively.

My air conditioner stopped working yesterday evening. I called several companies to get information on their billing policies and how they do their work. Only Cunningham would answer my questions on this even before they came. They promised to have a man out at 7:30 this morning. He fixed my problem in the minimal possible time (they charge by the quarter hour) and with the minimal possible bill. Air conditioner is now working fine. He was friendly and answered all of my questions.

I contacted the office about receiving an estimate for an AC unit replacement. I mentioned that I was requesting quotes from two other companies. The office receptionist let me know that the installer would be contacting me to schedule a visit. I received a call an hour later from the installer. He confirmed that the request was for a replacement unit. He then proceeded to let me know that his company is never the cheapest so if I was looking for that, he did not want to waste my time. I had never mentioned price. However, I said I was looking for a fair price for good work. However, I gathered from his attitude that he did not want to waste *his* time unless I was definitely going to use their services. I told him that he could decide if it was worth his time to come out to the house. Then he informed me that they were busy and could not come for at least 10 days, and as I did not have a functioning unit, he did not think I could wait that long. So essentially, the call was just to dissuade me from using them, which could have been done more efficiently and less insultingly by not asking if I was looking for the cheapest company. As a consumer, it is my right to request different estimates from service providers, and any company that expects you to select them for an expensive undertaking without requesting multiple estimates is either dishonest or naive.

I gathered estimates from multiple companies. Many companies gave differing opinions as to what was needed, but Cunningham seemed to be the most straight forward. They offered many options and I went with them based on price and strategy of how they would perform the work. They did the job in 1 day and the actual installers were the ultimate professionals.
Description of Work: Cunningham and Associates replaced my HVAC system and added new duct work. They were professional, personable, and competitively priced. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC services in the future.

They have usually been pretty good but this technician was absolutely worthless. I know my home and let him straight to my zone board to check it out. He was convinced that it was my thermostat (a true sign of laziness), although it's nearly new and had been working fine. He decided that putting a jumper between the two R posts (which the thermostat already has, you just have to look at it closely) would solve the problem...Which doesn't make sense as the thermostat has worked flawlessly until then and then was sporadic. It was working when he left but then it started doing the same thing less than a day later. I was also having an issue with my uppermost floor unit running but not cooling. His response (He didn't want to walk up the stairs to check) was that it is probably just a smaller unit that I need up there. The next day I decided to look into the zone board myself and started touching the wires. Sure enough, the red wire on one of my zones was completely loose and just sitting there, apparently losing contact sporadically. I paid $68 and ended up fixing the problem myself because their technician that came out was just plain LAZY. I also made an appointment for them to come out to look at my uppermost unit again, which they never came to (that day) but then showed up the following day when I wasn't even in town.

Their technician was polite, efficient, and well trained. He arrived on time and everything was clean where he worked. While I considered the price higher than expected, I have to admit I have no idea what it cost to replace cooling in two systems and to fix the problems. I am extremely grateful to them. I would definitely recommend them..
Description of Work: Both my air conditioning systems froze two days before my daughter and her family were to arrive to spend a week. I was desperate. (My son-in-law already thinks Georgia is one of the hottest places on earth during the summer.) Cunningham Associates came out immediately and fixed both systems. The house was cool when my daughter and her family arrived.

I came home from a 2 week trip to find one of the heating units out on a Thursday. I was able to relight the pilot but the system did not turn on. I first called my usual firm but they did not respond. Cunningham was recommended by a friend so at 8 am on a Friday I called them. They answered the phone told me they would call back as soon as possible with a potential schedule. They also offered to give me directions to light the pilot light if that was the problem. They called back within a 1/2 hour and said they could have a repair person at the house between 10 and noon and told me they had a coupon available on Angie's list if I had access. At 9:30 the technician called to say he was on the way and would be here in 20 minutes or so if that was ok. He showed up ontime, looked at the unit and saw that I had failed to move the dialback to the "operate". As he was there and woudl have to charge the trip charge he offered to check the system. He noted rust and that the thermocouple was end of life (I believed it as the other home unit put in at the same time had the thermocouple replaced last year). He cleaned the unit, replaced the thermocouple (and at that time told me there was a small leak in teh pilot light and he would repair it). Ht then checked the second system prior to leaving. He may have spent a bit more time than was absolutely necessary because they are a bit slow right now, but I appreciate the go through to make sure before the cold weather hit that the system was checked.
Description of Work: They replaced the thermocouple, fixed a small gas leak in the pilot light, and checked two systems.

EXCELLENT!!! I emailed Cunningham and received a promt reply with a name and phone number to call to schedule an appointment. I told the gentleman when I called that the gas company said our heat would not stay on (they were correct!) unless we replaced something called a "thermocoupler" (not sure if that's spelled correctly). The man from Cunningham gave me a price for coming out and doing the repair and the cost of the part. He told me it would be more cost effective for us to have them come out and inspect our system; that would cover the cost of the labor for replacing the part. We scheduled a date; the tech came out as promised, was prompt- he was very friendly (I think his name was Jason) and helpful. He could have told us our 25+ year old system needed replacing to make money for his company but he said it was still in good shape! He accepted our coupon from Angie's list. Very nice experience from start to finish!

If other contractors were half as competent as Cunningham Associates Heating and Air Conditioning, our lives as homeowners would be pure bliss. I called at 3:30 on August 22d hoping to get service sometime this week. Erin set me up for a service call for August 23d between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. Jason showed up at 9:15...which is early compared to when some others arrive in relation to the scheduled appointment time. Atlanta traffic is somewhat testy at that hour. Jason was prompt, professional, polite, courteous, neat and extremely knowledgable. As this apparently is a fairly common problem it took him just a short time to diagnose and repair it. Since I did not want to take the chance of the same problem manifesting itself with the attic A/C unit I asked him to service that one also which he cheerfully did. I have absolutely zero knowledge about A/C units so I was with him the whole time constantly asking questions; what did what, what this line was for, how was this installed etc. He was extremely patient and answered all of my questions. He also gave me some pointers to help the A/C units operate more efficiently. We have four upstairs bedrooms and since it's only the two of us, three are unused. The upstairs has three cooling zones and we were using only the one in the master with the other two turned off. He suggested operating the other two at a few degrees above the master to increase the efficiency. Once he explained why it made sense so that the master zone did not have to work as hard. I am 100% satisfied with what these folks have done and look forward to a long relationship with Cunningham Associates Heating and Air Conditioning.
Description of Work: Lower level A/C unit was leaking water onto the basement floor. The drain line was clogged at the exit point of the evaporator coil. The PVC was cut, the drain line cleared, and A PVC union was installed to facilitate accessing and inspecting the line in the future. Since the technician was here I asked him to inspect the upper level A/C unit also, which he did. This service was not on the initial work request.
