Description of Work: A lot slower than expected based on the the quote/estimate, nearly twice as much. We started helping take off blankets/plastic and decided to move some things ourselves because it was taking so long. Staff were arguing with each other during the move, but were very nice/polite to us. They took care of my things and made sure that nothing was damaged. Staff didn't have the tool to take apart an Ikea bed even though I mentioned when I got the quote/estimate. Also, did not have power tools to take apart the bed. They also didn't have the address on where we were moving so we had to lead them to the new address.

Response from CHANDLER MOVING & STORAGE
I am sorry that this customer was not happy. The original estimate, based on the information provided by the customer over the phone, was 2.5 to 3 hours. . At 3 hours, their move would have cost $405.00. The origin end was from a 2 bedroom apartment with a long roll to the elevator, and then through part of the parking garage, and took longer than expected. On a long roll like that, a few more items can result in a substantial time difference. It did take the movers less than an hour to unload at the other end, which was a house. The move actually clocked at 4 hours and six minutes, which would have cost $568.75 if I had charged 4.25 hours as would have been standard practice. Instead, I charged 4 hours, and then took $60.00 more off of that amount (the customer requested a discount and I felt it was the right thing to do). Therefore, their move cost $480.00, , or about a half hour longer than the original estimate range. My movers actually had both metric and standard allen wrench sets, and of course screwdrivers and various wrenches, but the bed originally came with a tool which the customer did not have on site (my mover described the fasteners as recessed with four holes). They did tell me about the elevator, and I probably underestimated its impact or the number of items to be moved. They also did describe the bed, which the customer had originally assembled. The customer wanted us to take it apart for the move, and then they would re-assemble it at the destination later. They said it needed a tool, and I do feel responsible for communicating to them that we bring a good variety of tools (which we did), and that their load took longer than my estimate, which was why I "split the difference" on their move cost. It is also possible that my movers were actually "having a bad day," which is extremely rare for us but possible in this instance. I normally call a couple of times during a move, but did not get an answer when I called about 45 minutes in, so I was not able to adapt during the move, but only afterwards. They had told the movers to forget about the bed, as they were not immediately losing possession of the apartment, and that they would break it down and move the pieces later. All of these factors caused me to round down the time and also discount the rated time, which is an unusual event for us. My actions evidently did not satisfy them, and I think given another opportunity that I would have offered to come back out to move their bed at no charge once the tool was available, as this might have made them happier in the long run.

Very smooth transaction
Description of Work: They were very accommodating as I dealt with a mortgage company which could not commit to a closing date and time. The guys worked incredibly hard and were very knowledgable regarding disassembly of my furniture and packing it for safe shipping. I had already packed all of my own boxes, and was pleased there was no damage from the trip. Very smooth.
