Atlanta Peach Movers

Moving Companies, Storage, Piano Movers

About us

Atlanta Peach Movers is a premier full-service moving company in Atlanta. We offer both residential and commercial and moving services for local, long-distance, and international moves. We also offer packing and storage services. Atlanta Peach Movers have been in the Atlanta moving industry for over 30 years. Over this period of time, we have built a successful business based on a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. We constantly try to improve ourselves as a company every day, whether it is how we work with customers or how we give back to the community. At Atlanta Peach Movers, we believe in quality service. That is why we only hire the most dedicated employees. It is easy to find someone who is merely hard-working, but may not be very pleasant to work with. To ensure a positive experience for every customer, we hire not only the most hard-working movers in Atlanta, but also the most courteous and respectful. All 150 members of our team are full-time; we do not employ casual labor or temporary work. Our employees are true professionals and will show up to your home on time, in uniform, and ready to work. However, what truly sets our Atlanta moving team apart from other moving companies in Atlanta is our training. Before they are sent to handle your belongings, every one of our Atlanta Movers must go through an intensive training program at our in-house Atlanta Peach University, one of the few facilities of its kind in the country. During the training, our employees learn correct packing and loading methods, and practice moving real pieces of furniture from a replica home in our warehouse. Employees also complete on-going training throughout the year. Additional email - jsimmons@atlpeachmovers.com.

Description of Work: Our sales person, Julie, was excellent and very patient as we compared estimates with other companies. Her estimate was a little high, but that was much better than to be surprised at the end with a higher charge. Of course, Atlanta Peach charged us based on the actual weight, not based on her estimate. A small team came the day before our move to pack 3 of our rooms, which was an add-on due to the fact that we ran out of time in our personal packing schedule. The next day a team of 6 loaded our entire 4bd/4 bath 3-level home onto semi-trailer. Their attention to detail and wrapping of our furniture was impeccable. They were extremely efficient and kept a positive and courteous attitude throughout the long day. Four of the original 6 loaders met us at our new home 2 days later as agreed. (approx. 350 miles away). It was very very nice to feel like they knew us and our stuff, since they handled the loading. The unload day was again long and tedious, but they had excellent attitudes and we couldn't have been more pleased. My first move ever where nothing was damaged!! They unwrapped and removed all trash and were even willing to help move items that we transported in our personal cars. I highly recommend Atlanta Peach Movers! The best moving experience we have ever had.

Horrible company
Description of Work: Inspect your furniture before they move it as damage will be done. I was devasted at the amount of scratches, dents, and the amount of broken plates and glasses once I started unpacking boxes and dusted my furniture. The crew of four were lazy and incompetent. They left boxes that were clearly marked ' kitchen' in our basement and boxes marked garage in the master bedroom, etc. A move that was contracted for 4 hours took 8. They broke my Grandmothers unreplaceable antique plates and glasses (clearly marked glass/fragile-antique glass), they lost the glass to our office desk, lost one of the eight cushions to patio set. I filed a claim 2 months ago and have had no re-imbursement for any lost items or damages. In addition to that, Atl Peach pay only depreciation cost on items-not replacement cost. So we have to incur cost of buying new office desk and custom ordering 8 patio cushions, which is $3,000. They state 'they have determined to pay $200 but check is held up in accounting'. I'm going to small claims court. Do not use Atlanta Peach Movers. They may not have a TREE in their name because they have GRIND you down. Do not trust this company if you value your furniture, antiques, household items.

Response from Atlanta Peach Movers
Let me begin by saying that we sincerely regret that this customer is unhappy with her move experience, especially since she is a repeat customer who has moved with us twice before this occasion. Unfortunately, a few factors combined to make this experience unsatisfactory for her – choosing the lowest valuation option available and failing to properly pack her fragile antiques. Every mover in the state of Georgia is required by law to offer three different valuation options. Our staff explained all three options to this customer, and she selected Option 1, which has a contractually agreed upon $300.00 maximum payout for any transit related damage. As required by law, we obtained the customer’s signature on the valuation contract before we began the move. When she reported the damage to us, we promptly processed her claim within the parameters of the signed contract and settled well within the 90 days required by law. We know that nothing can replace our customer’s damaged glassware and china, but our movers are not to blame for the damage. Unfortunately, the boxes were packed by the owner (PBO). Boxes that are PBO are not covered under the terms of valuation if the box in which they are packed is not crushed, as these boxes were not. Regrettably, the images of broken glassware shared by the customer reflect damage done by unsafe packing. We do offer packing services and/or supplies to our customers and would happily have advised this customer on how to safely pack her valuables. Since she packed the fragile items herself and since the boxes were intact, we are not liable for the damage. Regarding the lost cushions, everything that went on the truck came off of the truck. We have standard operating procedures for inspecting the origin, the truck, and the destination to make certain all items that are going are delivered. We moved the customer into her own storage unit and then five months later, we moved her out of her storage to her new home. There is no way for us to account for what may have happened while her furniture was in storage. We deeply regret the inconvenience this experience has caused our valued repeat customer, and we have settled the claim to the best of our ability within the terms of the signed contract. Our staff is standing by to answer any questions you have about valuation, packing, moving, and storage. We will be happy to assist and are committed to providing an outstanding move experience. Thank you, Bill Boone.

Description of Work: I hired this company to move me from Atlanta to North Carolina due to that they "are the premier movers" for all of Atlanta Realtors. The day before the move they pack my 5000 sq foot home, however, needed to watch everyone, since they all didn't speak English. They loaded a full size moving van with only my household on it and took to the warehouse overnight for delivery the next day. I had several items going to storage which I CLEARLY labeled. On delivery, I had items that were suppose to go to storage delivered to the house and vice versa. Also, I had numerous items missing, including my entire cookware, that was left at the original house and never packed. After unpacking, there were huge items missing and never found!! I filed a claim for over $2000.00, in which, the claim dept would only reimburse me $400.00. I have NEVER had a more miserable move experience and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. There also, was considerable damage to a very expensive dinding table which I purchase extra moving blankets for protection and made it known to everyone during the move. They unpacked it up against a piece of patio furniture and scratched the heck out of it!!

Response from Atlanta Peach Movers
Our claims administrator has been in contact with her from the onset of the claim filed for missing and damaged items. She elected to valuation of .60/lb. for her good. We were more than generous in paying out the total amounts of items claimed missing ($348) and half of the amount ($115) because she elected to hire another company to assist in rearranging her storage unit, without giving us a chance first. It is unfortunate her move did not take place without incident, but we have been more than fair in trying to resolve the issue. Kaihra Lynch-Office Manager

Description of Work: This company was refereed to us and we also found it on Angie's list. I emailed the company and received a reply within a couple hours that they would be in touch with me shortly. 2 days later I called the company, was connected with the gal that handles long distance moving, left her a message and never heard another word from them.

Description of Work: Got a quote to move from a 5BR house in Alpharetta to a 4BR in Cumming, for $1350. Moved a Uhaul cargo van full of stuff between time of quote and move in an attempt to be sure that everything would fit into their 26ft truck, as we did not want to pay for 2 trips. Be warned, most movers are paid by the hour and if their truck is not big enough you will have to pay several more hours for a second trip! Well, they estimated 8-10 hours, and after only one trip and 10 hours we made them stop, even though they weren't done, because our cost was now $1750. We tipped the movers $100 (there were 4 men), because they did not damage anything. We complained to the company, and they kindly refunded us $100 + a $50 gift certificate, but we still had to rent another Uhaul to get the rest of our stuff, which cost about $60.

Description of Work: overall a great experience. they showed up on time and packed my furniture carefully. the reason I gave low marks on quality is because they did not show good care in my new home. I would advise to keep a very close eye on what they do. they had to move my washer and dryer upstairs - moved my dryer without unhinging e door. almost pushed it thru. now the washer- the guy unhinged the door improperly. took the washer upstairs by a dolly on my wooden stairs without properly padding. the worst part is that they put the door back in place and damaged it - the door won't close and took me a few hours to fix it. my mistake that I did not do a final walk-thru. I also found out that they did not assemble one of my beds.

Description of Work: I had an out of state move from Georgia to Nevada. They were professional on the phone and punctual. That is where everything started to go downhill. I had told them that I would box up the small items, but that I would need help with larger bulky items like pictures, mirrors, lamps, etc. They arrived on time and then told me that they did not have boxes to fit my lamps, bedding, etc. I had to go out and get large boxes and pack them while they were loading my furniture. Because I was busy packing the lamps, etc. I did not have time to hose down some of the items in the backyard that were being transported. They brought in items from the yard and proceeded to wrap them in the house leaving large chunks of dirt on the kitchen floor. They just left the mess and of course everything I had was already packed so I had to clean up the muddy mess with paper towels. Then came the most expensive error. I had instructed the driver that there was a refrigerator in the garage that belonged to the homeowner and to leave that one. Apparently he took that to mean leave any refrigerator, including the one in the kitchen. I wish I could say that I caught this mistake right away, but I was so exhausted from the extra stress and packing that I returned to the hotel where I was staying to rest. It was not until I return to the house 2 days later to let in the carpet cleaners that I found my refrigerator was still in the house. I called the company right away and they said that I would have to pay another $208. in order to have someone come and pick it up. They would then put it on the next truck going to my area which might be 2 to 3 weeks. I then found out that the contact person that I had been dealing with had left the company and no one was keeping track of the statis of my refrigerator. I was finally contacted by the new general manager who assured me that he would check on the issue and get back to me either that day or the next. I waited another 2 weeks and heard nothing so I filed a complaint with the BBB. I thought that at least they would have to resolve the problem if someone else was checking up on them. I finally heard that they were going to be able to deliver my refrigerator. I received a call from the driver telling me that he would be in Las Vegas the next day, July 16 between 5:00 - 6:00 am. It took 8 weeks but I finally got my refrigerator. My recommendation is that they carry extra boxes & a shop vac in order to make the process a little easier. Also, have someone help with the move. I was alone and completely overwhelmed. They also need to make sure their employees understand English.
