Our 27 year old flagstone chimney was showing cracks in the mortar, leaning away from the house and we could see the rotting wood inside the structure. We called Atlanta Fireplace Specialists after seeing their positive reviews on Angie's List. From the initial consultation and estimate to the completion of the job, the professionalism of this company exceeds all expectations! They scheduled the job promptly, showed up on time, and worked through 3 days of rain to complete this job. They removed the stone facade reaching 20 feet, removed all rotted wood, then rebuilt the entire chimney chase, including a new cap on the roof. The job site was clean and free of any safety hazards at all times. The crew's knowledge of current fire code compliance and modern framing methods was evident throughout the construction.We are so impressed with Atlanta Fireplace Specialists and will recommend their company to anyone needing fireplace repairs or maintenance. Atlanta Fireplace Specialists Atlanta Fireplace Specialists, did the work and a week later I went into my crawl space and could smell gas. Called the gas company and they told us to get out of the house, gas company came out an hour later and shut off the gas. The things were not properly installed and I had a gas leak. Our house could have blown up. I didn't call Atlanta Fireplace Specialists back because, I figured they couldn't do it right the first time, I wasn't calling them back. So, I called a plumber to come out and he corrected it and I had it inspected so, now it is working properly.

We had to reschedule serveral times. he always communicated in advance. once we locked on a date, he arrived a litgle late. he cleaned the dryer vents very quickly and id an excellent job. He made reccommendations on how to better maintain the vents and prevent a fire. though not pre-scheduled, i asked him to clean the chimney. He did this as well and did a fantastic job. He was clean and completed both jobs in two hours.

I was satisfied. The first guy that came out was very nice but he wasn't able to help because he was more a masonry person. He was very apologetic. He actually had Lance come out at my first convenient time and he was able to get everything going. The first day they were out they weren't really able to accomplish anything. The price was a little more than we thought it was going to be, but it wasn't out of the ballpark so I was satisfied. They said that if it doesn’t work, they will come back out.

Jonathon and his partner were very knowledgable and professional. They did a very thorough job in cleaning the hearth and chimney and converting our gas firplace to wood burning at no extra cost. They were late arriving due to a prior job that was suppose to take one hour lasted over four hours...but even though it was late in the day on friday the day before Xmas eve they were very courtious. The living room floor was protected with a drop cloth in the area of the fireplace. The vacuum remained outside the house and a hose run to the fireplace. The flue was scrubbed as well as the walls of the firebox. He even vacuumed the fireplace screen. I was provided a written report of the health of the fireplace and the services performed. When finished, portions of the floor were vacuumed that were not even in the work area. I will certainly use their services next year.

We hired them to inspect and clean out a prefab firebox and chimney of our recently purchased older home. Very clean process and thorough inspection. Now I have peace of mind and can look forward to lots of warm fires this winter.

Excellent initial phone conversations..Techs took their shoes off at the door, even though I told them it wasn't necessary..They spread a tarp on the hearth and surrounding carpeted areas..Both gentlemen were very engaging and very happy to answer all our questions. They did not seem to be in a hurry, and I appreciate that in someone who in performing a service..Will definitely recommend them to anyone who may be in need of their type services. Overall this service was wonderful! I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for this service. The technician came on time (he called me when he was close to make sure I knew when he was coming) and did a great job cleanning the chimney out. He did a point by point inspection of the chimney. I recently purchased a forclosure and the gas key was missing from the house. I was very surprised that he went out the his truck and gave me a key that he had on hand and at no extra charge! I still get a smile when I think about this. How else would I have gotten a key? I had no idea and this struck me as a very kind gesture. He also went into my attic to see why the gas starter was not working and we realized that part of the pipe was missing. He did not have to do that and I was very thankful that we found out because this could have been a potential safety issue. He also made sure the fireplace area was clean before he left. I would recommend this company to family, friends, and others.

Jon and Lance did an excellent job cleaning and inspecting out chimney, and giving us options for repairs in their inspection report. Scheduling the appointment took a bit of work. First time around, my wife called to schedule an appointment, but they were a no-show on the set day. Called the next day, and was told that they had 'misplaced' our appointment into a 'to be scheduled' file. It was still warm/early in the season, so no huge deal. Rescheduled for later that week. On that day, Jon called to let me know he'd have to reschedule again due to truck issues he was having that needed to be fixed. No lie, the two reschedules were mildly annoying but, again, we were in no rush so I let it go with a pass for the car trouble. Third time's the charm, and Jon and Lance showed up as scheduled and did a nice job. Took a couple hours, and made sure to take their time and do it right. Didn't leave even a trace of a mess, so bonus points there. Even took some time after to go through his report/inspection and inform me of the options I had. None of the line items were an immediate need, but he did provide some in-writing quotes for a couple of repairs we should consider, which was good. Aside from the scheduling issues, I was quite pleased with the work, and as long as their quotes hold up, will go with them for the repair work they informed us about (when that job comes around on the house 'to do' list).

I recently moved into a house built in 1965 and needed the fireplace structure checked out to see if it was safe for a fire. I also wanted the dryer vent checked to be sure it was not a fire hazard. On the day of my appointment, Atlanta Fireplace Specialists called to let me know they were on their way but I was late getting back home from an appointment. They graciously said they would take their lunch break so I would have time to get back home. Jonathan was very professional and serious about checking out every bit of the interior construction of the fireplace and went on the roof to examine the chimney for any cracks and leaks. It wasn't just a quick "look see" either. He spent a lot of time checking everything. He also wrote up a detailed and specific report about what problems were identified and the recommendations for fixing them. He also checked the dryer vent and made sure that the vent was clear and that the air was properly moving through the vent. Same for the hot water heater vent. I ended up getting a chimney cap to keep the animals out and to protect from rain and wind.

I had been putting off calling someone to fix the fireplace for a long time, but I finally decided to pull the trigger after seeing AFS on Angieslist. Jonathan came by the next week and worked on the fireplace for about three hours and finally determined that there was some faulty wiring. He wasn't able to fix it on the first visit, but he was bound and determined to not let that fireplace get the better of him. Even though he spent so much time on it that day, he didn't want to charge me for the visit until he could fix the fireplace. A couple weeks later, he and his colleague came by and they were able to fix it. We've been enjoying a nice fire on these chili fall nights ever since!

The job was performed to my satisfaction.

He was very courteous on the phone. He was prompt and on time. He did a very good job. He covered up the floor and was careful when he cleaned the fireplace. He was very professional. I have no complaints about his company. He pointed out some things as there were some issues with the fireplace. We will be using him again to fix that.

Replied quickly to my email. Appointment for estimate and gas log selection made. Arrival as promised. the appointment for installation delayed due to their busy schedule. Completion occurred next day as promised.Only negative was waiting for the arrival as scheduled on first day. They did apologize for inconvenience.

Jonathan arrived swept our dryer vent and we asked him to look at the chimney and proceeded with the chimney sweeping. Throughout all processes he explained what he was doing and many helpful hints. As I have stated this was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor of any sort. I highly recommend Atlanta Fireplace and especially, Jonathan to everyone and have already to several people. He wants the job done right even if it is on a Friday night and we were his last stop. He did not rush just to get the job finished, he wanted a well completed job for his customer and it showed. This level of service will not only attract customers but it will keep customers.

Jonathan Clements did an outstanding job for us making our ugly chimney chase look like a piece of art.He was always on time, very courteous and polite. He had not cost overrun to us.He cleaned his work area up after every day while he was working out here. We can recommend him highly.

Overall it went very well. The only glitch was I needed to call twice in a weeks time to get the service scheduled. I was told I would get a call in two days but I was lost in the shuffle for a bit so it took two calls on my part to get a time and date. Understandable since this was a great deal and I am sure they were crazy busy. Once the service was scheduled the workers came, got the job done quickly and efficiently. The fellows were very personable. They cleaned up the laundry area and did not do any damage at all to our lawn or home exterior.
