Company was very prompt and did a great job on the relining of my chimney for a very reasonable price given the amount of work needed. Workers took great care to keep working area clean and did a very good job on the work needed.

They came on time to clean the chimney. While they were there I had them replace my gas starter. All I can say is that Jonathan and his co-worker did a great and thorough job, at a very fair price.

Jonathan and his co-worker thoroughly examined each of three fireplaces. They removed all the gas logs and cleaned the logs as well as the interior of all three fireplaces. They checked each chimney, from inside as well as from the roof. They repaired the flue in question and checked the other two. They rearranged the log assembly in one fireplace because it had been installed incorrectly. They checked all gas lines and tested that they worked properly. They pointed out several issues that, although not an immediate problem, could pose problems in the future - including a chimney drip pan that had been installed incorrectly and could cause leaks over time. They charged exactly what they said they would charge, even though they did more work than they had planned to do. They were courteous and careful to clean up after themselves. I will definitely use them for any and all of our fireplace issues.

I think they were particularly good. The last company that came provided a whole page of things wrong with our chimney ($$$), but we held off on any repairs. When Atlanta Fireplace Specialiasts came we inquired about the repairs, he said there was nothing wrong that needed any immediate attention, unlike the previous company had indicated. I trust them implicitly.

I was truly impressed with the work that Atlanta Fireplace Specialists did for us. The quality of the work was top notch and just as important, they where completely honest and did not try to sell us on repairs we did not need. I felt confident knowing that if they recommended a repair, it was definitely worth having it done. To top it off, it is clear that they truly take pride in the quality of their work. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I are selling our home and needed to get a handful of repairs done after the home inspection. I called to get a quote for a dryer vent cleaning, and after receiving such great customer service and a very reasonable estimate from Jonathan over the phone, I ended up hiring them to do all but one of the repairs that were recommended by the inspection (the other repair Jonathan said he wasn't qualified to do). Lance came out to do the work, and did an excellent job. I was very impressed at how well he did all the unrelated repairs--he was definitely a jack-of-all-trades! Both Jonathan and Lance were very professional, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. And to top it all off, the final price was awesome! If we weren't moving out of state, I would definitely use them again.

This was our best experience with any sort of contract work. Very knowledgable and professional and more importantly the quality of the work was top notch at a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Shortly after moving into the house we had vinyl siding put on the house. The vinyl around the top of the chimney did not fit under the original rain pan and eventually started leaking. I called Atlanta Fireplace to come out and give me a quote for a new rain pan. While they were there they checked the fire box and found some loose bricks and some mortar needed replacing, and also discovered a dead squirrel in the chimney. They gave me a very reasonable quote to fix the problems and said it would take a week to have the pan made to the specifications. Comments: Johnathon called a week later to tell me the pan was ready and their schedule allowed them to come to the house to do the repairs. The old rain pan was removed and the new rain pan was placed on the chimney in a very efficient and professionally manner, and it looks great, and while Johnathon was working on the rain pans, his coworker swept the chimney and began mixing up the mortar for the replacing the firebox bricks. Replacing the firebox bricks ended up being a bigger project that Johnathon had estimated, but he carried through with the original estimate and did a wonderful job. Atlanta Fireplace goes to great lengths to control dust and dirt from the chimney and the room where the fireplace is was as clean when they left as when they arrived. I highly recommend their work and the company.

Atlanta Fireplace Specialists (AFS) owner Jonathon returned my call promptly while up on a ladder, listened to my description of the issue, then called later when he could schedule an appointment to give an estimate. He showed up on time and after a few minutes was able to diagnose the issue (a clogged valve). He provided an estimate of $99 to blow compressed air through the valve, and admitted that he couldn't guarantee that this would fix it, but as the valve is imbedded in a stone and concrete hearth, that was the best approach. One thing I liked is that he also called his partner to double-check his diagnosis, since it was an unusual situation. We scheduled the appointment to do the work and again he was on time. The pipes leading to the firebox were so corroded after 24 years that he had to cut them off with a saws-all. Fortunately it wasn't necessary to remove the fireplace insert, as that would have been a significant endeavor. The compressed air did the trick, and Jonathon replaced the gas pipes and the firebox. Though the job took longer than he had estimated and included unplanned parts because of the pipe corrosion, he still only charged $99. In addition, he recommended that the chimney should be swept, as lots of poorly cured wood had been burned causing lots of creosote. Since he was already at the site, he offered to do it for an additional $99. When finished he provided a status of the chimney components. Throughout he was very professional and personable. Highly recommended.

I thought my dryer vent was clogged, but I wasn't sure what type of service provider to call. After poking around on Angie's List and looking at reviews, I called Atlanta Fireplace Specialists. Jonathan answered the phone, and I was happy to learn that he might be in my area that same afternoon. As promised, he called when he was on his way. He and his partner were thorough in examining my dryer vent system and explaining the process of cleaning it. We just bought our house last summer, so I wasn't sure where everything was or how it was supposed to work. In addition to the cleaning, I got a tutorial on dryer vents, how I should maintain mine, and what potential problems to look out for! Jonathan was professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He did exactly what needed to be done and didn't try to push additional items. I didn't get other quotes for the job, but the amount I paid seemed more than fair for the amount of time they spent at my house and for the care they took to make sure the job was done right.

In late December 2011, I called and spoke to a gentleman who got all my information and gave me a quote for the chimney sweep. He said he was at another job site and would pass along my information to his coworker who schedules the appointments and that person would call and set up an appointment later in the day. Two days later I had still not received a phone call, so I called again and left a message. I have not ever gotten a return phone call from this company.

Jonathan and Lance were a true pleasure to work with. We have been trying to find a solution to fix our drafty fireplace for over 2 years. We had many other fireplace experts look at the fireplace but no one could provide a solution Jonathan diagnosed the problem within minutes and provided a solution that worked well. Lance installed the equipment to fix the drafty fireplace and also installed a new chimney cap and cleaned the chimney. He was very knowledgeable and left our fireplaces gleaming! I highly recommend this company and will definitely work with them in the future.

Work was done timely and as requested. Very helpful with additional questions and provided quotes for additional work with minimal sales "pressure"

UPDATE After the initial posting they did contact me and we did have them finish the project. They where apologetic about the communication and wanted to make thing right. They did, they installed the new set, repaired the outside chimeny, which was a bigger project than expected. They where late on the first day but stayed late and worked late into the evening and promptly returned and finished the next day. We are very happy with the overall end result and the work done.

I would say they are very friendly and got the job done that he said he was going to do. Overall, I think he did an excellent job.

OVERALL THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. In fact I had them quote another job I need done which I will schedule this week.

Appointment was set-up promptly and the individual expalined all services that would be performed. Technician arrived on-time, explained the repair situation and resolved the problem quickly. He also kept the area very clean.

The pilot light continued to go out on our fireplace. Eventually it was to the point it would only stay on for less than a minute. Atlanta Fireplace Specialists came out and cleaned and repaired the gas logs. We have had no issues with our fireplace since it was serviced. Excellent work - will definitely use Atlanta Fireplace Specialists again in the future if the need should arise.

Well, the people I dealt with, John and Lance, gave me the impression they knew what they are doing. They job was done well. They both have been very helpful and provided a lot of information once on site. I am sorry I have to give a negative review on the responsiveness which in my opinion also impacts professionalism. The all deal started in October 2011 when I contacted them. The job, which takes around 1.5 hours to complete was performed in January. This because the company would promise to contact me or with a date or with an estimate or with something and it did not happen for at least 3 times. There was an initial visit on site and then I was promised the work would have been done in 2-3 days. Never happened, since I did not receive an estimate, I called and again did not receive an estimate. Then I called a few weeks later and they said they had all the measurements and they would call me for an appointment. It never happened. Then again I call to make sure they could come (in December) and they would call me back. Which never happened. Finally, in January I was able to contact them and Lance came and completed the job. Fine, I think, at least I got the job done even if I had to wait. I was told that the delayes and lack of response was due to the fact they were adopting a new approach to make their work schedules more efficient (this was in December). After the job was doneI showed them another problem in the house. I was told they could have fixed it and would respond with an estimate in a couple of days. It never happened. One of them called me around 2 weeks after the first job was done for me to do the payment, which I did immediately (I was waiting to see if at least they would call to be paid, as they did not want to be paid on the job site). They also promised to give me the famous estimate for the second job the Friday of the same week (it was Wednesday). Here I am after 1.5 weeks with no news whatsoever. I don't really understand what is going on, but it is very annoying to be promised something and systematically not deliver it. Do not think I am a complainer, because I am not and John and Lance can confirm. However, I do need to warn other customers otherwise Angie's list would not make sense to exist, and also because otherwise Lance and John would not have any motivation to improve their responsiveness which also impacts my concept of professionalism.

Communication by phone was courteous, professional, respectful, responsive, helpful; came on time; kept area very clean by laying down tarps from the door to the chimney; review of findings was thorough, honest, helpful; I highly recommend.
