Overall great experience, and a clean chimney to boot! I will definitely call them next winter for service again.

They showed up on time, were very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience, I would use them again.

The project is to repair and improve the aesthetics of our fireplace; we are interested in having stone place on the facing of the fireplace. 1) I contacted this company right before the Christmas holiday, so I am allowing for that. 2) No response from the company until I sent a follow up email 7-10 days later to which they promptly responded via phone & email 3) I requested a weekday evening appointment for someone to come out and give us an estimate on the repair and placement of stone on our fireplace. 4) A representative showed up on the appointed evening, and gave us his recommendations for what we were attempting to accomplish. 5) I shared pictures of the fireplaces we would like replicate 6) He suggested that WE meet him at a stone provider and pick out a few samples of the types of stones we desire. He stated they had two vendors they regularly used, and he could meet us one evening. We stated that we would be interested in meeting him to pick out a few samples of stone. He said, "he would have someone from office to contact us to schedule a time to do so". 7) It has been approximately 3 weeks, and we have not heard back from this company. 8) Need I say more - we are NO LONGER interested in doing business with this company.

Arrived on time. Took a couple of hours to do the job. Had to remove dryer from a very tight space. I have a longer than average and multi jointed dryer vent. These guys cleaned it thoroughly, improved my dryer connection to the vent to improve airflow, cleaned the interior of the dryer of lint and cleaned up the area very well. They were extremely professional and enthusiastic about the job. My dryer was taking up to 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. After thier visit a load of flannel bed sheets dried in 25 minutes. I contacted Atlanta Fireplace Specialists to have my chimney cleaned after outside repairs. They responded to my initial call in a timely manner and scheduled their technician. He arrived on time and brought an assistant to remove the fireplace insert. He demonstrated detailed knowledge of the cleaning process but also informed me about the build of the fireplace and insert. The cleaning was thorough and conducted without any residue left in the room. He finished by doing an external inspection of the chimney. I was very satisfied with the result and will use them again. Highly recommended.

The service was great. Two technicians came and carefully cleaned out the drier vent. As part of the service they also inspected my chimney and other vents. They arrived promptly, did an excellent job with the vent (the house was 5 years old and it had never been cleaned), were very friendly, and may no attempt to "upsell" additional services. I would recommend them without reservation based on my experience.

Lance did an outstanding job getting our gas fireplace back in working order. He was very courteous and called ahead of time to let me know he was running a few minutes behind due to traffic. He quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it. Lance could've easily taken advantage of my lack of knowledge with the unit, but explained to me that it was a very simple issue and dropped the cost of the repair to reflect it. Very professional and honest company. I highly recommend Atlanta Fireplace Specialists.

They did a great job getting things cleaned up and unclogged. They checked my fireplace as well and told me everything looked good. They were very professional and timely. I would hire them again.

A difficult task, made more difficult by an incompetent decorator who gave them the wrong instructions and made decisions without consulting us, but they found a way to accomplish with a smile on their face. Very good at giving us options, alternatives and getting back to us. Showed up when they said they would. Essentially they slavaged what could have been a disaster. Honest and reliable

They were responsive to give an estimate but less responsive in following up to complete the work, however they did end up coming as promised. It just took me chasing them down. I don't know whether their work fixed the problem yet as I have only used the chimney once since the repair (because of the hot weather!).

They were very professional and clean. They did a fantastic job. I liked them so much that I hired them to clean the 2nd chimney.

They were very prompt. They came in and cleaned each log and fireplace, adjusted the flame and cleaned the glass. The dryer vent was cleaned inside and out. They were very neat, clean and nice.

Excellent service with attention to detail. I have an older house with gas logs which we wanted to take out and convert back to a wood-burning fireplace. Because of original faulty design of the chimney this was not feasible but John and his technicians tried every way possible to make it happen. They spent a great deal of time and energy figuring out options and all of their extra efforts were done at no additional charge. I am very pleased with their service and will use them again.

We've been trying to get an estimate for a fireplace redesign since late August. After many excuses (illness, injury, out of town wedding, anniversary, etc) from Jonathan we scheduled a time for him to give us a quote. He called an hour after he was supposed to be here and said he would be another hour or two late. We rescheduled once again for the following week. He showed up an hour late. Despite that we decided to hear him out. He was informative and helpful but a month later and we still can't even get a proposal or an estimated time line. No apologies or anything from him just more excuses and still no timeline or proposal. Needless to say we would not even consider using him at this point.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use this otherwise highly rated service provider. Not only did the service provider show up over an hour late for our appointment, but after I'd let them in the community to perform an estimate from the exterior, they never followed up with a written estimate or any follow up information. When I contacted them a week later, I was told that the telephone operator would contact the service provider directly and respond within the day with the information, but I never heard from him either. Very disappointing, as they had received very high recommendations from other customers.

When I called, the phone contact was very personable. He asked me very concise questions and carefully explained the rates and services. They were able to work me in fairly quickly and we made an appointment. One of the two owners, Lance Blackford, came to do the work himself. He was a little past the appointed time, but called ahead to let me know. When he arrived, he did a thorough check of the logs and the fireplace. He quickly determined the cause of the problem and efficiently completed the repair. In addition, he took the time to explain what was wrong and how he fixed it. He also gave me advice on keeping the logs clean for the future. My fireplace works and looks better than it ever has. Lance was very professional and completed the work in a very skilled manner. With a repair involving soot, it is also important to work carefully and cleanly. It is particularly important to me, because we have oriental rugs throughout the house. The room was as clean as when he arrived. I could not be more pleased with the results, the cost, and the whole experience.

Overall very happy with the services and the price was very good.

Excellent service and knowledge. Highly recommend!! Jonathan suggested we shield the exposed drywall as it could pose a fire hazard. We'll be using his services in the future.

We recently purchased a house with 2 fireplaces and were advised by our home inspector that fireplace/chimney cleaning was definitely in order. After carefully considering various reviews on Angie's list, I called Atlanta Fireplace Specialists. Their office manager (Ben) was very responsive and worked with me to find a convenient day and time to get the required work done -- plus he confirmed there was an Angie's List discount (always a good thing!), plus a multiple fireplace/chimney discount, for the project. I was not present for the cleaning but my husband was VERY pleased with the job that was done. A two man team arrived a bit after the scheduled time but well within what I consider the margin of error for timeliness, especially in metro-Atlanta. The carpeting and flooring in our house is new and they left the work areas spotless (!). One of the men was a co-owner of the company and was very informative about the state of each of the chimneys, making recommendations for most effective use, as well as future maintenance/repairs that will need to be made. He used digital photos to illustrate problems he found during inspection. For instance, both chimney caps are very rusty and the screws are eroding/corroding so he suggested we consider new chimney caps in the near future -- he took photos and measurements while on the roof and will have the latter on file for when we are ready to have the caps fabricated. For this he quoted a discounted price based on doing both at the same time and the quote is clearly marked on our receipt. Very thorough. One of our chimneys is safe but really needs some extensive reconstruction to draw better. The owner was able to illustrate this clearly to my husband without turning it into a "do it NOW or it'll be catastrophic" sales pitch. We appreciate such ethics.

AFS arrived, laid out a work area and proceeded to clean and service the fireplace. They gave me advice on another service issue and I felt very confident in their service and knowledge. Highly recommend them.

This company was very disappointing to work with. I will never use in future nor will I ever recommend. I spoke with the owner the week before about a potential problem with a gas fireplace and set up a chimney clean. He told me that if this other person did not show up, he would. I called at 3:10 to find out where the repair man was on the repair date as he was supposed to be at my home between 2:30 and 3:00. No one sowed up. I called and left my name and telephone number. To date, no one has called. In the age of communication, there is never an excuse to not call back a customer.

Lance Blackford came out and was able to find and fix the problem. He also restacked and cleaned the gas logs. He was efficient and neat and I thank him for his efforts.
