Description of Work: Needed service on a Maytag washing machine. Phoned KING APPLIANCE SERVICE on Monday during a heat wave so I expected them to be busy. They answered promptly and scheduled a technician for early Thursday. As promised, the tech phoned as he was on the way between 8 and 8:30 a.m., was courteous and neat, then quickly diagnosed the problem (a water pump). He then explained the repair along with costs in an easy to understand way. (He also pointed out an unrelated electrical problem I should take care of.) In less than an hour after he arrived, my washer was running like new and you couldn't tell anyone had been in my home. The new water pump part was $88.46 plus tax, and labor charge $89, a fair rate. When the washer broke and needed service, I decided to request service on my KitchenAid Refrigerator that has had a long time problem with a clogged drain line (inside of refrig. gets WET). Over the past year, I've fully defrosted it twice and that works temporarily, but clearly it needed a professional. After repairing the washer, the tech checked the refrigerator and confirmed the drain line in the freezer was clogged and freezing up. He recommended defrosting it to clear the ice and flushing it out to clear the trash out. Then he suggested installing a heat probe to keep it clear. Again he was easy to understand and explained the cost of the parts and labor. Because this was my "second" appliance, he discounted the labor $35 for the trip charge and actually charged $54 for labor. The heat probe kit part had to be ordered, was $21.90 plus tax, total $77.44. They phoned me 5 days later to set up a time to come install. When he came back to do the refrigerator repair, it took about 30 to 45 minutes, and again he could not have been neater or nicer. I appreciate a quality professional anytime....especially in home repair. I will absolutely call them again.
