Description of Work: She was an organizer that spent over an hour talking about herself and showing me photos. This could have taken 10 minutes. She was friendly but not at all helpful. I wanted to see what she coulld do for me in 4 hours so I could decide if I would hire her for more work. I did not like her approach.

It went as Ruth promised it would.
Description of Work: Ruth arrived promptly. Almost immediately we started working on the closet in my master bedroom. We worked four hours. When we started you couldn't see the floor, by the time she left, the floor was clear and we were packing items for the move.

We are still working together.
Description of Work: My small home is full of clutter. I thought I could tackle the job myself; but put the job off for years. I was always finding reasons or excuses to wait. I thought I could do this myself, but was unable to motivate myself to do it alone. Ruth is kind, and has many good ideas. We are working room by room to clean up the clutter.

My paren'ts health and financial situation required them to move to a new place quickly. They needed help to go through all their closets, dressers, files, kitchen cabinets, bookshelves, laundry room, etc. Ruth traveled to Florida with me. We started at one end of the house and went through it room by room. Ruth was able to go through all the clothes with each of my parents, convincing my mother to let go of so many things that she couldn't possibly take with them. My parents responded very well to her effiicient manner and her persuasive tones. We cleared out 46 bags of garbage and took another 40 bags to Goodwill.
Description of Work: Ruth cleaned out and organized my parent's house with many years of accumulation in all drawers, cabinets, and rooms, so they could sell the house and move to a smaller space. We spent a week at their home and completed this huge job. I would recommend Ruth to everyone!

The Member & I have a lot of experience working together as I help her in her office about every 2 months. She called & asked me to go to Fl. with her to help in her parent's home. Off we went & we had a great time. It took a full week but by going room to room together, we were able to get it all organized. Her elderly parents needed to sell their home & we helped get it in order to do that. It was a great trip & a great job. Her parents were easy to work with & were willing to give lots of stuff to Goodwill. Thanks Member!!! Ruth

I am so grateful Ruth helped me! My brother and wife were coming to visit from California, so I had the great room painted and the bookshelves painted. All the stuff on my 10-feet high bookshelves was scattered all over my furniture. What an overwhelming mess to try to go through and get back in order! Ruth came over and we got the job done in a couple of hours. She had no problem getting the ladder out, arranging and re-arranging books and artifacts, as well as helping me to cull out unwanted items. She even took the discarded books, etc. to Goodwill for me.
Description of Work: Ruth helped me go through the living room bookshelves, getting rid of many books, cleaning, and re-arranging my keepsakes and books after the shelves were painted. I have used Ruth's services before for a variety of difficult organizational jobs.

She arrived, we walked up to the room, she began asking me questions about what the function(s) of the room were, how much space each function needed, etc. She then said to go get a BIG trash can which made me a tad nervous...but I went and got one!. We started right at the entrance and worked around the room, not skipping anything no matter how big or small it was. If I began to stagger out of the "zone" she quickly reminded me where we were working at and to please return. It seemed like it had only been an hour but it had been 3 1/2 and we were through! I'm still just AMAZED!
Description of Work: In 4 hours she managed to get my craft room organized! functional! comfortable! clean! and I couldn't wait to just get in there and get crafting again! I had been trying for over 4 months to do this myself! SIMPLY AMAMZING!

Ruth was very helpful and nonjudgemental! She kept me focused on the task and I am pleased with the result. We ended up with a huge bag of trash, and collected 8-10 bags of items to be donated. Will use again.
Description of Work: Ruth came to my home and quickly determined where I needed the most help in getting organized. We worked together to clean out my bedroom, and discussed ideas for future organizational projects.

I found Ruth on Angie's list about a month ago, and after reading all of her glowing reviews on here, I decided to give her a call. We made our first appointment a few days later. She knew that all my clutter had me very frustrated and overwhelmed. Every single surface in the house had piles of clutter on it! When she arrived for our first session, the first thing she did was show me her before and after photos. She then reassured me that my house wasn't the worst she had ever seen, and that we would get through it all. How right she was! What a difference having her organize my home has made to me and my family. My house has not looked this good since we moved in 7 years ago! She knew it was going to be difficult for me, having inherited most of my mother's and grandmother's items after after they had passed. She was sensitive to what I was going through emotionally, yet still kept me on task, and offered excellent advice on what to keep and what to donate. I love Ruth. She is extremely professional and a very hard worker. After a session with her, I was always ready for a nap! I have two young children, one of whom is still at home with me. Ruth was absolutely wonderful with her, and actually gave her little tasks to help with the reorganization. My family and I really appreciate the excellent job she did for us. My basement is still pretty cluttered, and I won't hesitate to call Ruth if I have trouble getting through it all. If you hire her, you will be so glad you did! She is worth every penny! -Amy R.

She was humorous, supportive, firm and fun. She devoted 4 hours to the job and we finished a bit sooner than that. She took things to Goodwill for me and mailed me a receipt. I'm pleased as punch with my organized office now and I have Ruth to thank!
Description of Work: I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish. For four years I have put off going through old files and organizing my home office. I had receipts and paid bills from 1999, for shame! I finally called Ruth who started me in one corner and stayed with me til we reached all the way around the room. We sorted every box, drawer, stack, etc, even stuff I had stashed in the attic. I needed to set up a space in my office for a job search and I needed to purge lots of magazines.

Ruth was diligent and responsible. She returned my phone calls promptly and came to my home on time. She and I worked like demons and accomplished a tremendous amount in the 4 hours that we spent together. She gently but firmly encouraged me to part with unnecessary items and papers but never forced me to do anything. She was very professional and easy to work with.
Description of Work: Ruth and I went through the clutter and mess in my office. She helped me put away and organize my books, file and throw away papers, and simplify my filing system. She advised me to buy a few things that would help to keep my clutter at bay and left with a few things which she took to the Salvation Army and then promptly sent me a receipt.

The experience was more than just liberating. Three months later, all closets and garage are still clutter free. I am a neat person, but let clutter build up. Ruth teaches you how to not do that. These are jobs you convince yourself to do on a rainy day, but the day never comes because it's daunting. Ruth literally attacks the problem and insists you work through it. Almost like therapy.
Description of Work: Ruth came in and helped me to clean out and organize every closet in my house as well as my entire garage. She just jumps in, pulls things out and helps you decide what to do with it and where to store it (if it stays). The cost is $45 per hour, minimum of three hours - not enough time; Ruth came back twice.

Ruth was on time and ready to work immediately. If you need someone to help you gently release items, you might have to explain that to her up front, because she pushes you hard to get rid of stuff you've been collecting. She works for a min of 3 hrs at $48/hr.
Description of Work: I had several areas that I needed help organizing and started with my home office, which was overflowing with paper. Ruth takes her job seriously in "pushing" clients to let go of items by throwing them out or giving to charity. Her style was a little over-powering for me by the end of the 1st session, where we cleared out much of the back-logged paper. By the end of 4 hrs my nerves were shot. For the 2nd session I thought her style would be better suited to helping me in the basement. We had items from moving in 8 yrs ago, mixed with broken toys and out of season household items. Here Ruth's style shown with flying colors. We cleared out so much trash I couldn't believe it, and organized the rest of the items for easy access. We have our basement back!! Ruth is coming back to help clear out the carport.
