Dayco Systems Heating and Cooling

On Friday night noticed that our heater was not working and this was the one that fed the bedrooms. On Saturday morning called another provider (also listed on Angie's List) with who we had a service agreement at 6:30AM. Spoke with the answering service and was told that I would get a call immediately. I never heard back till 8:00AM, when I called them again. This time I spoke with someone who told me that the earliest that they could get someone in to fix, would be Monday morning. When I mentioned to them that we found them on Angie's List, and had a Service Agreement, he had a blasé attitude in his response which basically said - "... I don't care..." In any case, as we had a Service Agreement with them, we felt that going with another provider would not make sense, and waited till Monday morning for the service technician. On Monday, the technician came in and within 5 minutes determined that the electrical igniter was broken and needed to be replaced, and quoted a price of $350 for the repairs. Looking online, we saw that the part actually cost ~$25, and when we mentioned it to the technician, he said that they don't get it for that price. Instead they get charged ~$75 for the part. The rest, $275 was the labor charge to fix it. What did not make sense to us was why a part that took 5 minutes to remove, would take $275 to replace. That means that their service fee amounts to almost over $3,000 / hour! Naturally, we decided NOT to use their services even though we had a service contract. As we were still without a heater, we searched Angie's List once again, and found Dayco. We read up on the reviews, and decided to give them a call. What stood out was their level of service from that first call. First, Philip, who answered the phone, was extremely polite, heard what the problem was and gave us an appointment for the next day. We were also told that if there was a cancellation, they would schedule us in for the same day. Second, the appointment window was a 1.5 hour window (the previous company gave us a 3 hour window). When there was a cancellation for that day, Philip enquired if the technician could come in, and gave us a 30 minute window of his arrival! That, in my opinion, was fantastic! The technician was prompt, completed the work as discussed and at the price that was discussed. There was no additional selling of services, contracts or upgrades. Absolutely perfect, in my books!

We needed to replace our aging HVAC system. It had various parts failing and wasn't worth it to keep repairing it. Dayco went above and beyond all expectations! I had already received quotes from 4 other HVAC installers but just had a feeling that my search wasn't complete. I called Dayco based on the reviews I read on Angie's List and am so glad I did. Dean was on time and was sure to put on booties before he walked in. He did a complete inspection of our house, carefully looking at our existing system and asking me questions about what worked well with our current system (ie when it was working, did it cool the house properly in the summer, heat in the winter) and what we were looking for. He quoted us a new 3 ton 2 stage unit that was very well priced. There were a couple of things that stood out to me and why I chose to have Dayco do the installation. 1) Dean did not give me a hard sell. He simply stated what he thought best for our house based on how big the house is and other requirements. He didn't try to do a song and dance routine like many others had on what I needed and why. A couple of other installers had quoted me a 4 ton system and I asked him why 3 vs 4 and he explained why. Since I had had more quotes for a 4 ton, he assured me that if I signed him on to do the job, he would come out and do an intense study of the size of the house (Manuel J study) to be 100% sure that the 3 ton was what we needed. He said that if we had a 4 ton installed, the system would be too big and not cool/heat the house properly. He said experience told him we needed a 3 ton but was willing to do the the calculations for my peace of mind. When he did the Manuel J study, the calculations showed he was correct. This told me that the guys who quoted me the 4 ton were just out to get my money. No one else even talked about the Manuel J study. I really appriecated that not only did Dean educate me on it but was willing to do the extra work to prove he was correct. 2) His attention to detail was awesome! When he went upstairs to look in our attic, he was sure to take his booties off as to not track insulation back in the house and when he raised the stairs back into the attic, was sure to leave it EXACTLY how he found it. My husband hates having the string for the drop down stairs hanging down and Dean remembered to pull it up. A little thing for sure, but it is the little things that mattered. That told me that he'd pay attention to every detail on the job. The removal of the old system and the installation of the new went very well. The team he sent out to do the work was professional and did a great job. Dean came out halfway in the install to inspect everything. We couldn't be happier with the new system. Spending $7,0000 on an HVAC isn't the most fun thing to do, but I like knowing that we received a great deal on the product and the service. I HIGHLY recommend Dayco for all your HVAC needs.

The water pan of the unit in the attic had been accidentally moved slightly, but enough for the unit to think something was amiss and would not come on. The serviceman took one look at it and knew exactly what was wrong. He moved it slightly and all was well. Since the fix was soooooo simple, he did not charge us anything but ask that we hand out his business cards. We have been since. He was so courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable. If we ever need service for heat and air again we will not hesitate to call Dayco Systems right away.

These guys did a fantastic job completely overhauling our HVAC system, and have been very responsive whenever we have had questions or concerns, coming out to the house 3 additional times to makes tweaks or changes to the setup without charging us anything additional over the original quote. I can't believe how low our energy bills have been, this house we just moved into has 2000 additional square feet vs. our previous home, but our energy bills have been about 40% less than the old house (which had a relatively new HVAC system as well)!

This is the second time I have used Dayco, and I am just as pleased as the first time. The guys showed up on time and finished the work according to schedule. They cleaned up behind themselves and delivered everything they promised on budget. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

The crew who came out did a great job and cleaned up well after themselves. We had an issue with the location of the unit and they came back right away and fixed that. They did an excellent job overall. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We had got a lot of estimates and they had the best one. The estimate was very specific and detailed and they also were careful to stay within the estimate.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did what we were asking and everything was satisfactory. I have an issue with my unit but it wouldn't have been anything they might have missed.

I came home late at night from a quick out of town trip, to find my nearly 30 year old AC system was not working. Called DAYCO first thing the next morning, since they'd worked on this unit last summer and it lasted a year. Dean (owner) came out that same afternoon, and was able to get it operational long enough to set a date to install a new, energy efficient unit. He then worked up an estimate for replacement, and emailed it to me in a couple days. We set up an 8am installation appointment - and they arrived 5 minutes early! About 4:30pm, everything was finished, and cleaned up...I mean actually vacuumed the carpet under the attic door where old insulation fell. A quick tutorial on operation of the new programable thermostat - and my upstairs has been cook, comfortable since :-) I know the downstairs unit, of the same age is eventually going to need replacement - and I will be calling DAYCO!

The is my second Air Conditioning unit from Dayco Systems. You cannot beat Dean and his team of professionals. Excellent pricing, on-time, respectful of your home and your time. Top notch service at competitive prices. These guys go the extra mile to make you happy.

We've had previous problems with the unit. It's been making crazy noises again so we called Dayco to come out and check. They were very prompt in returning my call and able to schedule me for the next day. Jerry arrived on time and was very nice and professional. He did a thorough check and didn't find anything amiss and even gave us some helpful tips. Thanks, Jerry and Dayco!

I contacted several A/C companies for estimates. Dean at Dayco was very professional from the first visit and provided a detailed estimate for several different seer systems. He answered all my questions while I was evaluating the various companies & estimates. I think his price was very competitive. His estimate included a detailed list of all the work included for the price. Because i was replacing a 3.5 ton unit, he had to install an additional air return duct and this was included also. Dean and his team arrived on time on the day we scheduled. His team was very professional. They worked all day, going late until about 7pm to finish the job in one day. They had to install one additional air return, and also added one air supply duct at my request in our master bedroom. They were very careful to clean up, both in the bedroom and in the basement. They hauled off all of the old system. Dean explained how to use the new thermostat and went over the entire system with me. He answered all my questions. The price was exactly what he quoted me, even after adding the extra supply duct. The new system is working great, and our house is very comfortable. He also included one year of service at no additional cost. I will certainly contact him when the upstairs unit needs replacing. Great job!!!

Service man came out, did some checking of the furnace and thermostat, found broken wire by outside condenser, fixed the connections and tested to be sure it was operating.

it went good. It was an Angies' list deal. There was some confusion over the price, but when I mentioned the coupon # the took care of it. I will have them provide an estimate for my upgrade.

I talked to Dean (the owner) and his son over the phone to set up an appointment to access my needs after reading reviews on Angies List and other local reviewers. Dean came out and surveyed the entire house, we talked about several options, pros and cons and efficiencies of different systems. Dean is very easy to talk to about this complicated subject matter and at no time seems condescending or overly technical. Dayco is NOT the type of company that sends out a high pressure salesman that tries to baffle you with numbers and data to sell you the highest cost system to maximize their profit! Dean sent me several options/estimates the next day with a plethora of useful information to help me decide what I would need. The workers fervently wear temporary booties to keep your home cleaner then they left it and are very knowledgeable in their craft, they also follow up with calls and information. Our new system is flawless, it's like living in a new home, walking from room to room and not having a huge temperature/humidity gradient is a pleasure. I'm really looking forward to saving money this summer with this ultra efficient system.

Install went perfectly. Dean along with his crew were able to install both units the same day with little to no impact on my activities for the day. They crew left a perfectly clean site both inside and outside. They vacuumed up the insulation that fell onto the carpet from the pull down attic steps, always wore shoe covers in the house, and cleaned up the yard where they put in the AC condensers. All of the DAYCO crew were very professional and nice taking the time to introduce themselves. They were excellent around my two dogs enduring the barking as they came indoors and out. I plan to high DAYCO again to replace the third HVAC unit in the future. I can recommend Dayco with the highest level of confidence.

The technician arrived early - about 15 minutes before scheduled time. A good thing since so many are late. He replaced some freon at no charge (pleasant surprise) and also gave me a $25 discount coupon (which I was not expecting and another surprise). I have used another company in the past, and I definitely felt Dayco was treating me more honestly and fairly than the previous company (that always told me I needed something new each time - thus costing MUCH more money each visit). Great job!

The representative was on time, cordial and very professional. He informed me about my system, its age and how long I should expect for it to last for the condition it is in. He explained how my two systems operated and that almost no maintenance on my part was needed. He signed me up for annual service and was given a coupon by the company itself for a discount beyond what I expected. I priced this out with the current Costco HVAC dealer who was $60 more for the exact same annual service. Thank you Dayco and ty to my service person Bob.

We actually ended up using them for a complete HVAC replacement after we had it serviced and found out all the problems. We were very happy with them.

When placing the call to have the service done they were able to book the appointment for just two days later and they were very friendly when talking with them. Jerry was the technician that arrived at home within the time frame given to me during the initial call and also called me when he was about 20 minutes out so that I could escape from work to meet him. After a short conversation of why I called for the service he started his inspection. To inspect the two units it took about 30-40 minutes and when he was completed he took the time to explain to me what he did along with the outcome of any tests that were performed. My overall experience with Dayco and Jerry was professional, courteous, and informative. I will use Dayco in the future along with recommending them to friends and family.
