I hired John to install a lightning protection system for my daughter and son-in-law's new home as a "house warming" gift. Unfortunately, I did not think of doing this during construction and before the roof was finished to avoid copper wiring running along the rooftop. My daughter wanted the lightning protection but she was very concerned about the esthetics and potential damage of lightning rods across her new roof. John was a great problem solver and did a beautiful installation that we hardly even know was done. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained why the location that he selected would provide the highest benefit with the least negative appearance. The best part was that his installation was very quick and at a price much less that what we were quoted from another provider.

Responded quickly. Negotiated price. Set up time and date for installation. Arrived 30 minutes early. Complete job done in 4-4.5 hours. Nice people to work with.

I called them yesterday, after a prolonged lightning storm. They came out this morning and after two hours, our house is protected. I would certainly recommend them. They did a wonderful job. Bring it on Mother Nature. We have lightning defense.

When I called it was after 6pm on Friday and a holiday weekend. My house has just been struck by lightning again in a month time span. I had just figured I would leave a message for them to call me. They answered the phone! I was shocked. They immediately set up a time to come to my house and give me a quote. I immediately felt better. When they arrived they were very professional and personable a great husband and wife team. They gave me my price and were able to start work right then and there. Fast service! Excellent company to work with! I called for a quote and the owner returned a estimate within an hour. I scheduled the job and they arrived to do the job within 2 days and that was driving 700 miles from the home office to my location. They used all UL rated materials and the install looks great. They are kept the job site clean and explained any questions. I would highly recommend LPS to anyone interested in a system

I shopped for lightning protection for years in Jacksonville, calling yellow pages ads to no avail. One guy even talked me OUT of installing lightning rods, even though he was listed in the Yellow Pages under lightning protection. Then my house was struck the next year, blowing a hole through the roof!!! I was so mad! Thankfully I found Lightning Defense through HomeAdvisor, and he is a pro. Very responsive, knowledgeable, and great service! Thanks HomeAdvisor and Lightning Defense. Very happy with everything. Just wish I used you earlier instead of the yellow pages.

This service provider is one of the VERY BEST contractors I have ever engaged anywhere, anytime. Mr. John Sherlock bent over backwards to meet my changed [forward] roofing project. He was contacted late in the day and the next day was here to take down my lightning arrestor system to enable the roofing job to begin. After the roofing was finished, he was out the next morning to reinstall the lightning protection system before a strong storm system moved in. He is a TRUE professional with more than 40 years in the business. He has a long-term outstanding reputation for great service and professional work -- and he sure lived up to it in his work for us. We hired Lightning Defense to install lightning rods on our home after a friend lost his home to a fire caused by lightning. Lightning defense was extremely knowledgeable, and helped dispel myths regarding lightning rods (such as lightning rods attract lightning). Communication was great throughout, and the job was completed quickly and professionally. The rods are barely visible from the street, and look quite nice. I would highly recommend researching lightning rods, and consider Lightning Defense for the job. I feel much more secure knowing that my home has an added layer of protection, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for the job.

On tlme, very pleasant,EXPLAINED every detail of installation and especially liked when John said if we ever replace our roof please let him know,as LD will come and remove rods and then put them back free of charge,because some roofers just cover over the bases,AND no money till we were satisfied,THAT is only The kind of contractors I have ever hired.
