Steve Lacey completed several “home improvement” projects in our home earlier this month and we couldn’t be happier with his work. He repaired rotten woodwork around the front door, re-caulked bathroom shower, installed 6 new hardwired smoke detectors, replaced front door weatherstripping, and installed gutter splash guards. Steve was extremely responsive, punctual, detail-oriented, and focused. The quality of his work was top-notch and he exceeded our expectations. We have been recommending Steve’s services to our friends and we will definitely use him again for our future projects.

It was great. Mr Lacey provides the best repair materials and is extremely well informed on all home repairs. He is very thorough and offers the best advice. He installed a railing for us, repaired ceramic items in a bathroom, installed grab bars along with many other repairs. This was all done at a reasonable price. He is a great guy. However, the Angies List website sucks. You need to update the repair category choice list. It is not user friendly, cumbersome and forces a user to play around with your "suggestions" to find the correct choice. Maybe, you should use one of your own recommended service providers to assist you.

I'm tempted to give Steve a bad review to reduce the competition for his services. Maybe that way he would be available for my exclusive use. But that would be unfair to my Northern Virginia neighbors. Steve was prompt, friendly, courteous, reliable, expert, and reasonably-priced. He was also creative: When the replacements he purchased for our outdated bathroom exhaust fans did not quite fit the existing mountings, he used a Dremel drill to carefully cut a 1/2 inch piece off the motor shaft of each one. His solution worked: the new fans fit perfectly, run smoothly, and are far quieter than the screechy, ear-drum busting, jet-plane-at-takeoff noise we had become used to. Steve even brought treats for our dog, Sirius! I could not recommend him highly enough, and plan to use him again and often.

Mr. Lacey called me right away to set up a date to come look at the work and materials that might be involved and needed and he arrived on time for that visit. He said he would call me as soon as he could fit us in and he called within the week to schedule the repair. He is very tidy and professional. The caulking was applied very neatly. As a bonus, he even cleaned out the lighting fixture in the shower.

We have hired Mr. Lacey several times for projects inside and outside our home. In Dec 2017 Mr. Lacey and his assistant repaired several spans of wood fencing, installed strips of reflective tape and metal discs around the exterior windows to prevent birds from flying into the glass. He fixed a an entrance door to eliminate drafts and installed a pole support for a flag over the garage. The quality of Mr. Lacey's work and attention to detail is outstanding. Mr. Lacey always finds efficient and cost effective solutions and we have total confidence in his work. We highly recommend his home repair services.

The results are great, I'm very pleased with the job. The final finish is quite nice. I appreciated that he was punctual and very dog-friendly. Steve provided useful updates and was very professional. After work was performed he reviewed it with me and was careful and thorough. He left the job site very clean. I would definitely recommend Steve for other work and would hire him again.

He was a 1/2 hour early.This caused a bit of stress as there were a couple of things that needed to done before hand...a phone call would have been appreciated. I had been told there was a 2 hr. minimum. However I had no idea how long it would take. Had he been professional, he would have told me. Much to my dismay, the job was right under 1 hr. I would have NEVER hired him. I threw away $120.00!! If he had been "professional" he would have asked if I had any additional jobs that needed to be done, which I did. Then once I paid him, he walked outside, leaving both the front door and storm door wide open...I said, "aren't you going to close the door? They were the ones that had the bar open on the storm door, so he finally closed it. He was very rude and sarcastic and I would never recommend him to anyone!!

Everything was done well and efficiently. Mr. Lacey added a couple of things, such as when his assistant saw that the gutters needed cleaning, and did some safety checks, like making sure the bathrooms had ground fault interrupter protection and checking smoke detector batteries. He also recommended a carpet repairman for the doorway the dog had damaged as he does not do carpet repairs. We really appreciate the services he offered and recommend him highly.

Great. I have used Lacey Home Repairs before for several jobs, and was pleased to call Steve Lacey again this time. He came to inspect what I needed done, provided an acceptable quote, and came to do the work within a reasonable timeframe. On the day, he arrived on time and completed the work cleanly and perfectly.

Steve let me know what day and time he would be there and came punctually. He did both items on my list correctly and as specified. He and Francisco added extra screws to mailbox post as the nails it had were not strong enough. I agreed and the results were very professional. They cleaned up both areas and I was very pleased with their work.
