Lacey Home Repairs

We are having problems with our floor/the ceiling underneath it and I didn't know who to call. I decided to try Lacey Home Repairs. I received a callback the same day and he asked for more information regarding the issue. He said he was unable to help with this issue but suggested I call a home inspector to determine the cause of the damage, and gave me the name of someone he trusts. I really appreciate that he took the time to call me back to point me in the right direction, even though he thought it would be something he wouldn't be able to fix. I was very impressed by his honesty and the time and help he gave me. I will definitely be calling him in the future if I need any more work done on my home.

Mr. Lacey was everything and more we expected in a contractor. He gave us detailed expectations and a fair estimate. He showed up on time, was very professional, worked all day until every task was completed. Everything was done perfectly and we will use Lacey Construction again as well as refer our friends to him.

I would not recommend using this contractor if your goal is to get something done within a fixed time, or if you have a busy schedule and do not work from home. It took two weeks to get a quote, and then when we got the quote, the best he could do was to give us a tentative date even two weeks in the future. He was not up front about this process, and it made it difficult to schedule a time that worked for him and our schedules. Ultimately, we could not work out a time, and decided not to use him, after wasting two weeks on the process. Back to the drawing board.

Job was excellent. Steve Lacey arrived on time, performed the work quickly, and left the area clean. He was very professional. I highly recommend him for handyman services.

I have used Steve many times in past years for electrical and other maintenance services with complete satisfaction. On these jobs, Steve appraised the problems, gave me options and provided a fair estimate for his services. As usual, he arrived on time and completed the work per his estimated time and cost. He explained the work he completed and provided guidance for future work on the projects, if required.

Steve Lacey was very punctual from his initial response through completion of my project. His work was excellent and reasonably priced. Steve was very helpful and patient in answering my questions regarding the work he was doing and other work. I will use Steve again without hesitation.

Caulk the exterior stairwell window and repair interior stairwell window and he secured a loose pipe in attic. This is not the first time we have used Steve Lacy. We have used him to repair wood trim door frame and resealing caulk in our master bathroom shower. He is an awesome Handyman. I highly recommend him.

Steve Lacey was efficient, hard working (really tireless) on time, cleaned up every day and really could fix just about anything! I guess you could say he was just about perfect!

He was punctual, polite and thorough and every time he visited my home, he made a little extra improvement like fixing my doorbell and tightening a loose stair railing. He did everything he promised on time and for the estimated budget. The work he did was of very good quality and he left everything very clean. He also was easy to contact and called to confirm each visit. I will definitely use his services again.

I have used Mr Lacey before for a project and he was the first person I thought of to do this project for me. Mr. Lacey came out gave us a written estimate. He was always on time and even brought treats for the dog! All the work was completed in a timely manner. The actual cost came in less than his estimate.

It was great. Steve Lacey came first to look at the job and to prepare an estimate, which he delivered promptly a day or so later. He was able to return to do the work about 10 days later. Steve and his assistant arrived on time, did every item on my list (and identified a couple of other things that needed doing but that I had missed), and cleaned up completely when they were finished. The entire job took 2 days, but ended up being less total time than Steve had estimated. He's very thorough and detailed, which I greatly appreciate. Steve was at the top of the list when I queried Angie's List for a handyman, and I'm 100% satisfied.

Steve was incredibly responsive from the start, which was incredibly helpful as my wife and I no longer lived in the Reston area but still owned property there. Within the span of a week, Steve had surveyed our property and came back with a solid quote. He scheduled the work around our lives, which was also a nice touch, and finished the job to perfection. I would absolutely use Steve again and recommend him to my friends - fantastic job.

It was a pleasure dealing with Steve. He came to do an estimate to fix my leaky patio doors, and he gave me a summary of what work needed to be done - he even suggested I try to do it myself. He looked around the vicinity of the doors and pointed out some old cracked caulk that needed to be replaced also. I mentioned some drywall work, and it turns out he prefers not to do that - however, he gave me a quick lesson on the best way to do drywall repair, even recommending specific products that work better than others. This was all during the estimate, so even without taking any money Steve was very helpful. I hired him to do the door and caulk repair, and he performed everything just as he said. He even helped out with a couple of other quick repairs around the house that I had forgotten to ask about during the estimate. He was more than willing to help, and his services were very reasonably priced. His receipt gave a summary of all his work, and he billed the parts down to the penny with no markup. I would happily hire Steve again and can highly recommend him.
