+ -1 moreI set up an appointment with Lloyd to get an estimate on some irrigation issues. Lloyd was here EXACTLY on time and went through my system. He made a few minor adjustments and what he recommended. I had looked at some different sprinkler heads, but he thought that what I had was sufficient. He did not want to do anything that wasn't necessary. I had noticed that my timer was not operating perfectly, as it was several years old.
Description of Work: Lloyd installed a new timer, raised several heads, and replaced one sprinkler. Went through entire system and made adjustments.

After the repairs, several additional sprinklers I was going to have him install were not needed. He did not try to sell me services and products I did not need. I am very satisfied with the thorough and professional work.

He had done work for me before at my property and was willing to travel to her house which was an extra half hour drive. He was able to fit me in within a couple days of calling I talked him through over the phone what I neeed done since I couldn't be at the house myself. he was very obliging and patient with me showed up at the aggreed upon time, called me when he had an estimate for repairs and proceeded to bring my mother's irrigation system back to a state it had not seen in years. What a relief it was to me to know that I can trust someone around my mothers property without my having to be there and to know that I will get a honest quote and a fair price! Who can ask for more?

+ -1 moreIn January we saw this company listed on Angie's list rated an overall "A", and also saw our old irrigation company on Angie's list who had received an overall rating of "F". We called Lloyd Hueblar who came over in a couple of hours and spent two or more hours here, analyzed the problem and instead of proceeding with the repair work--suggested we contact the origianl company to come and fix it since we ahd already paid them. He was very honest and professional and experienced. We would recommend the Lawn MD for any sprinkler repair or service.

He identified the problem areas and began repairing the broken pipes right away. Within an hour he was finished and even cleaned a few sprinkler heads and tested the whole system. His prices were reasonable and he didn't attempt to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need.

+ -1 moreThe Lawn MD provided excellent service in the replacement of five valves that had been corrupted by tree roots. Lloyd provided an itemized bill of parts and labor and then discussed options. He not only repaired the system, but had the heart of a teacher in explaining what needed to be done. My advice to others is to give this guy a call before you decide to replace your sprinkler as I was planning to do. I had replaced these valves one at a time over the past three years, but did not know the tree roots were creating the problem until he showed me the evidence.
Description of Work: I had five damaged valves to my 15 year old sprinkler system repaired due to enormous water leaks that led to an inflated water usage bill. I will definitely use him again, as well as conduct a yearly inspection of my sprinkler system annually.

I soon learned that it was not a sprinkler head but in fact a pipe that had been broken in several places by another company doing work for the HOA. Lloyd (the Lawn MD) was great. He took the time to figure it out and had to dig for a while to find all three breaks. He updated me on costs as the work evolved. He also checked the entire system and made some recommendations. He offered options, but never seemed to be looking for ways to increase the cost. What was suppose to be a simple job turned into an adventure and I am very satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: An irrigation pipe was broken. Water was pouring from pipe when/if used. Learned during repair that pipe was broken in three places.

+ -1 moreGave suggestions on what we can do in the future, but didn't pressure me to get them done right now. Said to do them when the time comes to replace or something breaks. Let me know that we have two different kinds of sprinkler heads going on throughout the yard and said to replace them with the water saving ones as we need to. Talked with me about the set-up for the system and concern about it being above ground and more susceptible to damage by the lawn service. Explained what would need to be done, but again, said to wait until we have a problem. HIRE THIS COMPANY WHENEVER YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE!!!! PROFESSIONALISM TO THE MAX!!!
Description of Work: I ordered the sprinkler tune-up online for $49. Received a call back immediately to schedule. Arrived three minutes before scheduled time, did the tune-up, fixed what we considered to be a major water issue with the system and the additional cost was only $20. We would have spent that in one month of lawn watering.

After conducting a whole system sprinker review at my request, Lloyd fixed the ruptured sprinkler and replaced two others. The system is working great now and we couldn't be happier with the service we were provided.

+ -1 moreWe were very happy with the work that Lloyd did. He took the time to do it right. Lloyd was very friendly and took the time to explain everything in detail. Both with the new controller and also all the work that he was doing with the system. Very aware, when it came to digging up the lawn. Lloyd was careful not to make a big mess and not to dig more then was needed to get the job done. He did a very good clean up at the end of the project and made sure the holes were all filled and the everything was back in place. Highly recommend his services. It was a pleasure doing business with him. Thanks Lloyd!
Description of Work: Just purchased a home. Had him come out for a tune-up on the sprinkler system. Used his special pricing for Angie's List members. He called to see if he could come earlier then the scheduled time, which was a good thing in this instance. He arrived and we discussed in detail what I wanted done. We first talked about the controler that was on the system. We decided to upgrade the controller, so he put a new controller up and repositioned it in a better place in the garage. He then proceded to explain the control panels easy of use to us. It was a much better panal then the one that was there, both in easy of use and also quality. Lloyd then proceded to go through each of the 6 zones and check for broken lines or heads. We discovered that the were three cracked lines and several broken heads. Some of the heads were damaged due to being hit either by a lawn mower or something else. Some of the heads were just bad due to either poor quality heads or the seals were leaking due to the weather (extreme heat) in the summers. It drys out the rubber seals. What we thought would be about an hour job turned out to be 4 and a half hours of work. Replacing broken lines, bad sprinkler heads and adjusting the coverage pattern and actually moving some sprinkler heads to a better postion in the lawn for better covarage. The person(s) who did the install originally did, what I would call a poor job. They attached the sprinkler heads directlly to the main line, which does not give them any room to move when someone steps on them or they are hit by a lawn mower. Lloyd toook the time to attach the heads, that he had to replace, the proper way. He attached the new heads with flex hose, so there would be some give on the head if it gets hit or stepped on. The system was in a very useable condition when Lloyd was done. We dicussed a couple of other things we might do to the system in the future. Lloyd suggested that we use the system for a couple of months and see where we were at with the system. Wanted us to see if the coverage of the lawn was were we wanted it and if the system was performing the way we wanted. Then if we wanted something differnet, we could make changes later. Very professional.

+ -1 moreLloyd came within an hour of my call, located the box (it was hidden) and fixed it. He also did some troubleshooting for the HOA irrigation system that had a slightly different problem. Since it had become too dark to see, after turning off the water so none would be wasted, he came back for a second call (no added charge) two days later and found that the problem could be resolved without an additional repair and without any additional charge. Lloyd is a very nice person with whom to work, I will use him again when my system, which is getting old and a bit unrelaible, needs added work.
Description of Work: A solenoid was stuck in the "on" position. Lloyd repaired it, and ensured that it was working.

I've had other irrigation companies in the past but he was the first that didn't try to "bandaid" the system but try to get to the root of the problem. Excellent service.

+ -1 moreLloyd took a logical step-by-step approach to finding the leak or (as it turned out) leaks in our ancient legacy sprinkler system, and by electronic means (as well as much digging and elbow grease), was able to locate and service the individual valves scattered around the yard, as well as to locate the main feeder line. Knowing that we intend to replace the system as part of a re-landscaping plan, he explained, priced and got my OK on each step before proceeding. His expertise and detective work allowed me to make informed and economical choices. I agree completely with other members? descriptions of Lloyd as personable, diligent and professional. I will certainly call him again when it is time for the new system.

Lloyd contacted me first thing the following morning and was at my house that afternoon to fix the sprinkler and do the "big deal" tune-up. I had just installed some new landscaping in my back yard and Lloyd consulted with me on the best placement of sprinklers - then rearranged them right there and then! I showed him where the controller is, the general layout, and covered my concerns/suspicions, and he went to work. He showed me the problems/issues he found and made recommendations, then he performed the additional work we agreed on. All is now right in sprinkler land at my address. Lloyd is very personable, diligent, knowledgeable, and professional. I will call him first should I have another sprinkler problem.

+ -1 moreI purchased one of his Big Deals for a $39.00 tune up. He also fixed all my heads to make sure everything was capped off correctly and fixed the spray heads. He was extremely nice and courteous. I discovered the swamp on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. He was willing to drive 30 miles to my home. He was upfront by explaining there would be a trip charge, which I completely understood. I knew nothing about my irrigation system since I had just moved to this home. He gave me some educational tips over the phone and walked me through finding the water meter to help determine if there was an actual leak. I ended up having the utility company turn off my water. I then had him come out during the week. He was an extremely nice man. As far as I am concerned he was efficient and he fixed anything I did not like. He educated me and I would definitely recommend him again in a heart beat if needed. I am recommending him to my neighbors. I haven't had service like this in years! I definitely got what I paid for and I feel his prices were very good an honest.

+ -1 moreI purchased a "Big Deal" coupon on Angie's List for a sprinkler check up for $39. A couple of months later, when I'd forgotten about it, Lloyd from The Lawn MD called to check in. We set up an appointment for the following week. He was on time, very nice, very professional. Our sprinkler system was a DIY installation by a previous owner, and is set up strangely. Lloyd was honest and said that even though it was not set up correctly, it was still doing what it was supposed to. He made some minor repairs ($15 for parts) and answered my questions on what I would need to do in order to add the back yard to the system. His answer was very helpful in helping us with the back and forth we've been doing about what kind of grass to put in the back when we eventually are ready to re-sod it. Overall, very helpful and I appreciate his honesty.
