O'Hara Landscaping

To begin with, good, the problem was, the irrigation system was very complex, the reason i gave this guy the job is he was a good sales person, he was young and he was eager so i gave him the chance but it seems he really didn't know what he was doing, basically, it was a waste of time because he didn't know what he was doing, i chose the wrong person in other words

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. In the beginning it was good, but in the end it wasn't completed. The work was done in the beginning and we paid but when we had issues they responded once and then we had issues again and they stopped responding. We spent additional money. They were expensive.

They did complete the service under the "Big Deal" and didn't charge me extra. However, they came out to have me sign me up for a contract. It was for $125 every quarter and I felt as if they were pressuring me to sign up for a yearly service. I agreed to have them come every quarter, but I think it was deceptive in a way. They spend 20 minutes making sure that the system works fine and then they leave. The service that I agreed to is not the service that I originally got from Angie's List. I signed up for a deal and I ended up paying a contract. I would still say they're good workers and they're fine.

I purchased one of the specials for 8 man hrs of landscaping work and the deal also included one hr of landscape design consultation. A man came out and met with me in regard to the landscape consultation, however when I went to schedule the work I found out that he no longer was employed there. I had to start the process over again and the landscape design was not an option this time. Two men weeded a large area of ferns. The work was tedious because they had to separate the ferns to pull the weeds. They did an excellent job and worked hard only taking a few water breaks. The job was completed and it would have taken my husband and myself several days to get the job done. The men also trimmed a tall cabbage palm. We were very satisfied with their work and well worth the price we paid. We would use their services again.

Overall it didn't go. PAID THE AD FEE OF $55. the SERVICE provider never got in touch with me.

He came out and gave me his ideas. We had two other landscaping companies come out who gave me a design, advice and consultation for free. I did not feel the service was worth $99 and I thought I would get more for my money.

The SP did not show up for the appointment on time, and then wanted to change the price of the service call. (((Maybe I misunderstood, but I cancelled the service call immediately.

He did the tune up and he was very nice. He took his time; fixed a drip and I had him replace some sprinkler heads. I was very happy with the service. I was expecting to be charged for the sprinkler heads but they didn’t charge for them.

It's really bad, I was not able to use them. I asked O'Hara Services if they could fix my sprinklers throughout and initially, the guy showed up and he said, "It's no big deal, We can fix it" then the water was not turned on the day that they showed up so I told them to go back in 2 weeks. I told them that when the water is on next time I will let them know then they came back after 2 weeks so then they looked back and they gave me $200 estimation. I ended up calling the other guy who fixed it being $150 for the whole thing. They did not even started the work. Actually, they opened the water and everything and they broke one of the other ones. They showed up on 31, they said that they are going to get into it and fix it and they turned on the valves then the water was not on, they came like after 2 weeks but they said, "Okay, It'll cost more than $500" then I said, "No". They left and then I called the other guy, he showed up to fixed them and he found out that the other valves were also broken which were working prior to his outtake and look at it. The thing I find out a big deal and he was just offering me even though they were really good deal but what they are coming out to be like they don't price right so when they come in they are quoting higher prices to compensate what they are giving as a deal but when we come to the other guy, he is quality or sometimes better quality. They are offering much price. I took 3 big deals, all three of those were the same. When I caught them right around that time, first time they called right away and they showed up by the bell and second time, they showed up after 2 weeks around that time. I don't see professionalism because of the way they handled it into having much better. Upfront itself they should have quoted me without them touching any of the stuff but shows lack with professionalism, presenting me with honesty then they came second time, the guy who showed up I felt like he was not allowed to talk about anything, I had to ask someone over the phone, the lady as I remembered and I guess that's what they were controlling in the main office. So, I thought, "Okay, something is not right". They are not the best re-laughing the bill to get to know or to get some that talks to the people and then they can actually charge more.

The crew came out and I explained to them that my pump kept on loosing its prime after 24 hours. I told them that I already replaced the check valve which is on the suction line in the C15 Cannel in Palm Beach County. I demonstrated that when I fill the suction line up with water, via a hose, the pump and motor worked fine, cycling between each zone, with plenty of discharge pressure. They were telling me that the Schedule 40 PVC plumbing on the suction line, that worked for 25 years, had to be replaced. I pressure checked the suction line for 24 hours with a positive pressure which confirmed that the line, the pump and the check valve did not have a leak. The problem, which I was able to diagnose before O'Hara Services came out was the seal between the suction and discharge within the pump leaks, Allowing the water to escape out of the lower lying sprinkler heads. Think of it as a straw ( If you have a closed tight system, the water will not leak as long as the top of the straw is closed off.) With some of the sprinkler heads at a lower elevation than the suction, and a leak between the suction and discharge within the pump, the water will escape out, draining the pump's suction line. I told the crew that the pump had to be rebuilt with Seal & Gasket repair kit. O'Hara Services website under "SERVICES", it lists as an option "SPRINKLER PUMP REPAIR". This is why I selected O'Hara Services, knowing already what the problem was and knowing that they state that they do pump repairs. When the crew gave me a price, they said that it would be $399.00 and that the can REPLACE the PUMP AND MOTOR, but could not and don't repair pumps, as their website states. I myself am quite capable of diagnosing, as I did, and replacing the pump and Motor. The motor worked just fine and didn't even need to be replaced. The listed on their website that they provide a service and then they tell me that they do not preform this task as it indicates. I will be disputing the fee for them to come out and tell me that they don't do the service that I needed, as their website indicates it does. I must say that the crew that came out were very polite, however telling me that the PVC needed to be replaced, which didn't, I have my doubts about knowledge the crew members have. They wanted to replace everything that pertains to the suction side of my sprinkler system the PVC suction line into the pump, the pump and the motor. I never even let them give me a price for replacing the suction line PVC. I will let you know the outcome after the dispute. A Dissatisfied Customer.

They replaced sprinkler heads that worked and maybe could have been adjusted and left the one that didn't work.

They were on time and they went around checked the system told me what was wrong with it. changed some heads for free and recommended some changes with the timer.

They were on time, very professional and I have not had a problem with my sprinkler system since then.

My experience with OHara's started off a little rocky and later turned into a nightmare. The first technician came out to give me a quote on December 16, 2013. After receiving the quote, I set up another appointment to have the work done the following week. However, that day came and went. No one showed up, called to cancel or called to reschedule. I took the entire day off work for nothing. I called them the following day to find out what happened. The receptionist told me they had a computer glitch and she would see if she could send someone out later in the week. I never heard back from her. Against my better judgment, I called back again the following week. She rescheduled me one week later. Thankfully, the technician actually showed up this time. He looked at the sprinklers and then asked me if I minded if he brought the original technician out with him the following day because he believed he overlooked a few sprinkler heads that also needed to be repaired. I said that would be fine. They came out the following week and repaired all of the heads. I was told the problem had been corrected and everything was working properly. However, I have never been able to get the sprinkler system to work - at all - after that point. I was called out of town for work a few days after that appointment. When I returned, I immediately called O'Hara's and asked them to come back out and look at it. The office manager essentially told me it wasn't their fault and there was nothing they could do. I asked her how I could go from having too much water coming out of the sprinkler heads before they showed up to "fix" the problem to none at all. She had no response other than to reiterate that it wasn't their fault. I asked to speak to the owner. Alex called me back two days later and told me he would send a supervisor out to look at it. Although the gentleman that came out was very pleasant, he said he could not figure out the problem and that he would have to come out another day. I never heard anything after that. I called O'Hara's the following week and the office manager told me I would have to pay to have someone come out and diagnose the problem that they created??!! Even worse, she told me it would be an "open-ended bill" that would continue to go up every hour until they found the problem!? Now I have to hire another company to come out and clean up their mistakes. This is now going to cost me four or five times as much money than if I just would have gone to another company to start with. Save your money...save the headache...hire someone more professional that actually knows what they are doing. UPDATE: I called Green Lawn Sprinklers (561) 964-3058--they were able to fix my problem in one day. The sprinklers work great! I highly recommend them! They were very polite, professional and punctual. Total Cost: $55 paid to O'Hara's for capping a handful of sprinkler heads and screwing up my system $170 paid to Green Lawn to come out and correct all of O'Hara's mistakes

They replaced a lot of parts and we signed up for a 1 year maintenance agreement. They come and check everything every other month. Today (March 11) was their first maintenance visit and they replaced parts on one sprinkler head. We are very happy with them and would recommend their company.

Appears to have resolved a problem of one zone staying on throughout watering period.

I recently purchased my home, and wanted to have someone verify my sprinkler system was functioning properly. Technician was very knowledgeable and very professional. Will definitely use this company in the future.

All went well. Very busy but came on weekend.

That turned out very good. Two technicians came out to do the service. They checked everything and everything worked. They also replaced a pipe for me the same day.

I was very pleased with their sprinkler service. They showed up on time, they had a very knowledgeable person come out, and he quickly identified the problems which were resolved in a very short period of time. I would use them again, and I would recommend them to my friends as well.

There were no troubles with scheduling. The first time he came and provided me with an estimate. He ended up showing us some problems that needed repaired and I hired him for the additional work. When he came back, he spent about two hours on the visit. He arrived on time to the appointments and did a good job with the work. I am happy with it.

I do not believe that any service was performed at my residence, though I paid for it. There was nothing that indicated that my sprinklers were repaired. I still have brown spots where I am not getting coverage. There was no paperwork left or phone call indicating that anyone ever showed up.
