I called Dolling's on Tuesday and was told that the first available appointment was on Thursday. When I asked what time the technician would be here, I was told that they could only tell me that on Thursday morning -- meaning that I had to put the whole day aside because they can't efficiently schedule appointments. Because this is a fairly unique brand (U-Line) and other companies said they did not do work on those, I reluctantly set the whole day aside for this repair. At 9:00 on Thursday they called to say the technician would be here between 1:00 and 4:00 -- still a very long window. At 1:00 he called to say he would be here in 15 minutes. When I asked the cost of the service call, I was told $75, which is on the high-average side for our area (and which normally includes 30 minutes to 1 hour of work). I said that I had an Angie's List 10% off the total price coupon, and was told that this would be credited when the work was done. The actual work took about 10 minutes, and the bill was $95 (before the $9.50 Angie's List discount). When I said the office had told me the service call was only $75, Howie said that price does not include any labor, which is billed at $20/ 20 minute increments. The office should have told me that. I appreciate that Howie did not try to sell me a part (temperature controller) that was not needed. I will not use Dolling's again because: 1. their scheduling is so inconvenient and 2. they did not fully disclose their pricing scheme.

In freezer ice maker stopped working. Called Dolling's and made an appointment. Received a confirmation of appointment and the service tech called when in route w/ approx time for arrival. Service tech arrived on time, checked out the ice maker and got a price to do the repair. After getting the price he suggested that I do the replacement of a new ice maker myself and save myself over $100.00. I did not feel confortable with the knowledge to remove and replace the ice maker. The service tech showed me how to remove and how to replace, where to get the ice maker, how much it should cost, and provided a business name and location that should have the item in stock. The service provider also found and provided me w/ the fridge model # for the part. I followed his instructions without any problems and the ice maker has been working well for weeks!Excellent customer service. The only caveat was when the service tech caller his boss (I think it was the owner) I got the impression the boss did not want to tie up the service tech's time on a low profit repair. All said and done it was a win-win Dolling's got their service tech out quickly and I got the info needed to do it myself. Both saved money.

My refrigerator became warm one morning. I called them after seeing good recommendations on Angies List. They were able to come within a few hours and fixed the problem promptly.

I call Dolling and they came out within 3 hours of my calling, had the part that needed replacing on the truck and were in and out of my house within 30 minutes and the dryer is working fine. What service!! I am so impressed. The repairman was super nice, called before he got here, was here in the window that they gave when I called, and even offered tips to improve the performance of my dryer. Wonderful! I would highly recommend them!

I would use them again (if work done holds, not sure yet since it has been only 24 hrs), I did like that they were concerned when I told them they left house unlocked, I think this may have been just one time error, but communicating access info to repairman, communicating to me that job was completed after, and locking the door would earn them A, not B-.

Called Dolling's to report that the drum in the dryer wasn't rotating. Dolling's said it probably needed a new belt, that they had one in stock and could send someone the next day to install it. Asked me to give them the serial number of the dryer so they could bring the proper belt and save me an extra service call. I was given a choice of times and told that the tech would call me when he was on the way. Everything went perfectly and the job was completed in about 15 minutes. Tech had to remove a folding door to get at the dryer and after he installed the belt, took pains to make sure the door was seated properly on the track. I thought the price for the belt and service call was somewhat high, but paid the bill to the service tech. I then called Dolling's and said I was very pleased with the service, was not looking for a reduction butt just wanted to register my thought that $175 (which included the belt) was a lot for a short call. To my amazement, I then got a call back from Sam Dolling, the owner of the company, to say that he agreed with me, and was knocking $25 off the bill. I told him that really wasn't why I called, that I thought they had done a great job and that I'd have no hesitancy about using them again or recommending them to friends. The next day I received a $25 check from Dolling's. Great service. Great company.

Our house is under contract and the home inspector was the one to find the rinse cycle that didn't work.We were 1,500 miles away and used Angie's List to get this done!! The entire control panel had to be replaed in our stainless steel dishwasher before the closing date! Jay (from Dolling's) gave us the quote and ordered the parts needed. Very happy with the repair man....he showed us the problem and we understood.

He came out , found the problem, then had to order the icemaker, came back a week later and installed, took about 10 min.

Refrigerator not cooling. Called numerous times never returned calls.

He really took his time to walk me through steps to troubleshoot and determine what the problem was with our refrigerator, so he never had to come out and we didnt have to pay for a service call! I know not all problems can be figured out over the phone but at least he took his time to try some things on the phone, and as it turned out, it worked!

Washing machine was making noise when agitating. Thought it might be bearings or gears. Selected Dollings from Angies List. Repairman showed up on time and was very professional and friendly. He found that bottom of machine had been bent upward against pulley when machinge moved during remodeling. He hammered bottom down away from pulley. What could have been a very expensive repair turned out to be a simple fix.

He was knowledgeable and did a good job. I had been pushing the button but apparently I wasn't aggressive enough. He said that it was oxidation on the switch. I was perfectly satisfied with the service. The guy seemed very informed and knew what he was talking about. I wish it wouldn't have cost $95 because basically nothing was done.

I scheduled this work because we had just moved into a recently purchased home and our Sub-Zero built-in refrigerator had a "service" indicator lit up on the refrigerator control panel. The middle column of the refrigerator felt unusually hot. I called Dolling's and an appointment was scheduled. The technician arrived on time and was professional and capable. He checked over the refrigerator and determined that the reason for the "service" indicator was a failed cooling fan. He explained the reason for the repair carefully. He had one on his truck and was able to change it on the spot without needing to schedule a second visit. Our refrigerator has been working well since the repair was done. I would definitely recommend this company to others and will keep them in mind for future work.
