The installation went mostly without incident though they underestimated the size of the unit and had difficulty fitting it in the space. They never showed for the maintenance appointment and a year later they called to schedule service. We reminded them that they had as yet not provided their 6 month service and after speaking with them several times and being promised a call back each time (that never happened) and finally getting a manager on the phone to approve the service call they finally agreed to come out for the maintenance. A week after they came out we found the drip pipe had been broken off of the drip tray where it connected to the handler and was not easily detectable until water began dripping into the catch pan below the unit. It would appear either they are careless or vindictive or both. Never using this company again.
Description of Work: The company installed an entirely new system (Rheem) in 2014 and their installation included a 6 month maintenance.

.They have made 4 appointments and cancelled each and every one of them. The last appointment they just never showed up and didn't even bother to call. These guys are the worst. The maintenance contract is supposed to cover appliances. My garbage disposal died and their technician showed up, shoved a stick into my sink and slammed the stick with a hammer. He hit the switch for my disposal and it turned on. He immediatelt shut it off and said it's fixed. Right after he left it didn't work again. I replaced the disposal myself and filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Aztil responded to the complaint and said they would reimburse me for an agreed to price. They never sent me the reimbursement. They just wanted the complaint off the books. Stay away from Aztil.
Description of Work: I have a service contract with this provider.Contract provides for 2 seasonal inspections per year. One for winter and one for the summer. They are also supposed to cover appliances. They DO NOT honor the contract

They came out to put in my new AC unit. They sold me the wrong size and then overcharged me for a wrong sized unit. The one they sold me was much more expensive than the one I needed. After some time they called me back to see how things were going and if i wanted to sign a service contract, which i didn't to do. The offered to come out and service the unit for free, so he came to service the unit. They only spent about 30 minutes working on the outside of the unit and then inside the house, which was no time at all and they couldn't have done any real work in that short amount of time. I am not happy with this service.
Description of Work: They installed a new AC unit in my home.

On January 28, 2014, Aztil Air Conditioning performed routine maintenance on my air conditioner systems and found that the UV light (used to reduce mold) in the main unit was no longer working. The technician asked if I wanted to replace the light and quoted a price $700.00. I agreed to the repair, however, when the technician was done, the final cost for the UV light was $750.00 with an additional $89.00 for a transformer totaling $839.00. I currently have a Preventative Maintenance Agreement with Aztil Air Conditioning that specifies "No Charge for Labor" for repair services provided, and that I will receive "materials ... at regular rates less 20% preferred customer discount." Because of the high cost of the UV light, I decided to research the cost of the UV Light on the internet. Though I didn't have the exact model number, I had the Manufacture's name and found two units that matched the unit installed. The more expensive of the two retails for $283.54 (plus shipping no doubt) with the transformer included. As this was inconsistent with the provisions in the maintenance agreement, I wrote Aztil on January 30, 2014 requesting an explanation. In response, I received a call February 12, 2014 from an Aztil representative who informed me that the $700.00 price originally quoted was correct and that the transformed is included. I was also informed that the materials discount listed in the agreement applies only to direct components of the air conditioner and not ancillary items like the UV light. I was also informed that Aztil had to charge more than the retail price to cover company overheads. I informed the representative that it appeared the price markup effectively charged for the labor costs they were supposed to provide at no charge. The representative disagreed with my assessment but agreed to refund the over-charges and provided a check for $139.00 March 5, 2014 after a written reminder. As a result of this experience, I'm questioning the value of a preventative maintenance agreement with Aztil. The provision for no labor costs and the materials discount are two main features of the agreement. The difference between the price Aztil charged for the UV light and the retail price ($416.46 more) pays for over three and a half hours of labor at their hourly rate. If the end result of having an Aztil service agreement is to pay the same price as I would have paid to another company without an agreement, there isn't much incentive for paying for the service agreement.
Description of Work: Aztil performed routine maintenance on two air conditioner units and replaced the UV Light unit in the main A/C unit.

It has gone very well so far. They have been able to identify problems accurately and offer solutions / suggestions to problems which is what should come from experts when you hire them. I highly recommend them after going through over 4 other A/C companies.

They never did any work for us, because we suspected them of punching a hole in our AC (which was only three years old) and claiming it was worn out, improperly installed, and was unrepairable. They would replace the outside and inside units and relocate everything as part of the network. We got a second opinion by an independent AC guy and he repaired the hole and told us the unit was installed perfectly where it was. Since then we've required no further maintenance, outside of the periodic maintenance that's required anyway.

Replacing the thermostat and putting the house under contract for any future problems.
Description of Work: My tenant called to say they had no heat - my aunt uses this company for all of her repairs and has been quite satisfied. Being that I am not at the property I thought I would give them a call. They were there within 2 hours - it seems the wires came loose on the thermostat.

The unit continued to leak into my house. I had a service contract, but they refused to come out to get the repairs taken care of. I now have mold in my house (I am allergic to mold), and I have had several experts out to take samples and document the shotty work. They over charge, and refuse to help once you bring their issues to attention. I have been fighting them for 3 years. They have no permits for the people that performed the work, which is unbelievable for me. This company has a full page ad in the paper, and I just don't want to see these issues continue for anyone else in my area. They rip people off, and it's all about their commission.
Description of Work: I had a new unit put in by this company, and I have had a maintence plan with them since 2008.

I am writing this review because of my total frustration with Aztil Air Conditioning, 2540 West Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415, and specifically Mr. Louis Leonitti, a part owner. None of the following would have happened if he had explained a $275.00 bill for the replacement of an evaporation coil under warranty. The bill was dated November 1, 2013 and was paid on November 14, 2013. On November 13, 2013, Mr. Leonetti told me via phone the bill was COD, but the invoice does not reflect that. As a customer of Aztil Air Conditioning since 2009, I have been billed and paid promptly a total of $7,400.00 for services and products. Because of the latest bill, I have been harassed (three phone calls demanding payment in an hour's time.) They stopped only after I said I would call the police if the harassment did not stop. About halfway into one of the three calls I was informed that the conversation was being recorded. Is it not customary to inform you about recorded calls at the beginning of the call? After many tries, I finally spoke to Louis Lionetti. During my conversation with Mr. Lionetti on November 13, 2013 I was referred to as "one of them", called "an old man", and inferred I was from New York after telling me that he goes to church. I find these remarks not only offensive, but also bordering on discrimination. He implied I as lying to him about the amount of coolant used in the recent job. Before the technician left i specifically asked how much coolant was used. His answer was "not much, less than a pound". Mr Lionetti told me the technician told him he used 8 pounds. Again, well into that conversation, I was informed that this call was being recorded. This seems to be a tactic used by Aztil (see comment avove). Further, into the conversation Mr. Lionetti went into a tirade that lasted ten or more minutes. I was unable to make a comment as he just raised his voice and rambled on. After unsuccessful attempts to speak, I was forced to hang up. I suspect this is an intimidation tactic used by Aztil. In my conversation noted above this tactic was also used. In my conversation with Mr. Lionetti on November 13, 2013, I tried to go over the problems I have had with service, returning phone calls and my general dissatisfaction with Aztil. The service issues have always been a problem, but I accepted them as I was under a service contract. The following represents Aztil's inconstancies as it relates to the replacement of the coil: May 1, 2013 - no leak found May 23, 2013 - six pounds of coolant added, work order signed by Jonny (Mr. Leonetti said there was no one there by the name Jonny, perhaps not on November 13, 2013, but my service order #139638 dated May 23, 2013 was signed by a Jonny) May 24, 2013 - leak search detected a leak June 18, 2013 - no leak found October *, 2013 - Three pounds of coolant added October 21, 2013 - leak found (it took Aztil nearly 2 weeks to come out to find a leak) October 27, 2013 - leak found in coil by leak expert On November 1, 2013 - coild replaced at a cost of $275 It has now become an issue of trust and comfort with Aztil. I asked to be released from my service contract with a refund of the unused portion of my contract totalling $227.25. Mr. Lionetti informed me he could not realease the contract. he then said he would consider the release but only after subtracting some previous charges that he had waived. Rhetorically, how can e do business with each other?

I have a contract with them and have been with them for at least 10 years. They do a good job and are fairly prompt. When I have a problem they come. If they happen to need to be elsewhere because somebody does not have air conditioning I understand. It works out really well, because if we have an air conditioning problem they are here the next day.

The first day there were some issues with warranty, but they were quickly resolved and taken care of. They tried hard to make us happy and they show up on time and fast ! Johnny has been extremely helpful looking out for the customer while providing good service ! Ask for him when you call.
Description of Work: I had new (4) units installed at home and in my office and in my daughter's apartment. The employees are unusually nice and helpful espicially Johnny , and Felix. Johnny went out of his way to resolve some issues that were under warranty investigating and helping me to get my money's worth. The service was professional and helpful, and they were very concerned with pleasing the customer.

We got estimates on replacing our very old A/C unit from several companies. I was sure to get one from Aztil because we had a new A/C put in another house several years ago and it was a good experience. There were no problems with the install and although the price was a bit high, the system worked great and we were happy with it. So when Aztil had the best price estimate to put a complete new A/C in our current house, we hired them. The next higher estimate was around $1,000 more. When the installer and his helper arrived, communication was difficult. The installer spoke very little broken English and his helper spoke no English. The contract called for replacing the plenum on top of the air handler and the stand top on which the air handler sits. It was a Friday and they seemed to be rushing to get done. They weren't even going to replace the plenum until I said something. I didn't notice until after they left that the stand top was not replaced. The following week these issues were taken care of, but then on Friday afternoon the new unit suddenly stopped working! Geez. We called Aztil and a repairman quickly responded; he arrived within an hour. Good response time, BUT... the repairman said it needed a "board" and he didn't have that part on the truck; he arranged with us to return at 8:30 the next morning (Saturday morning). Well, we waited ALL DAY Saturday and made a number of phone calls to the Aztil office. We kept being told that, "He's on another job... it'll be another hour... you're the next one in line... etc...." No one EVER showed up that day. The following week a different Aztil repairman did show up and fix the problem (interestingly, it wasn't the "board") and the unit has worked very well since then. Also....During the installation, I had noticed that it looked like there was a filter in the air handler on the underside of it, but there is also a washable reusable filter in our air return. Later when the repairman was there, I asked him about having 2 filters. Wouldn't it make the unit work harder and use more energy to draw air through 2 filters? Yes, he said it would not only effect the efficiency, but at some time down the road the unit would eventually freeze up and shut down. But, he said, since you have a filter on the return the installers would have removed the one on the unit. I told him that I had looked up under there and it looked to me like there was still a filter in place and asked him to check it. He did check it and to his surprise the installers had NOT removed the filter, as he had assumed. (Good thing I asked about it.) He then removed it himself. The repairman seemed OK (at least he spoke English), but the installers did a half-way job. As I said above, our first experience with Aztil a few years ago was fine. The price was a bit high, but we thought the product quality and their service was acceptable. Their prices now seem more reasonable, but it also seems their customer service has greatly suffered. I don't know why the company has changed, but it's not for the better. It was like dealing with a completely different company this time.

Description of Work: Unfortunately I have a service contract with them!!!! My AC wasn't working and I called them. The "professional" who was sent out for whatever reason misdiagnosed the problem with my AC unit, told me its an electrical issue and they cannot fix it and I have to call an electrician to get the AC to work. So I called an electrician, paid $235 for his services only to find out that the wires is the AC compressor were loose and that is why my AC wasn't working and that guess what it wasn't an electrical problem and the AC tech should have fix that. After spending 4 days in a hot house, spending $235 on services I dint need I called Aztil Air to complain and to let the supervisor know what happened. I was told the supervisor was unavailable at the moment but if I fax the bill they will look into that and give me a call as soon as the supervisor will be available. Its been almost a week, the guy who answers the phone already knows my name without me saying who I am, and still nobody returned my phone call or looked into the matter! The supervisor Louis is always in meeting which is very unusual for me coming from a corporate world we were never in meetings ALL day and not have time to attend to our customers who are the ones that are paying for all the meetings! Its a company with very low standards both in customer services and in professionalism since they lack both! I will definitely NOT renew my contract with them and I don't recommend their so called services to anyone! I still haven't managed to get management on the phone and this is beyond ridiculous!

The coil of my 6 year old top of the line Trane unit went out in May. Aztil tried to high pressure me into purchasing a new, larger unit explaining that because my unit was "too small" for my home it was working too hard and broke. The pricing they quoted was for "today only." First I called around and could get the identical unit for $2,000 less. I then called another company who said the unit Aztel wanted to sell me was actually too big for my home and felt that my unit was in perfect condition. The repair cost me $110 as the coil was covered under warranty. The new company laughed at all the ridiculous items I had purchased from Aztil.
Description of Work: We purchased a 5 year service contract with this vendor. They insisted on a cash payment and came to our home to collect. At first they wouldn't honor the full contract until I made numerous calls and faxed in my contract documents. They would come twice a year to service my a/c; every time they tried to "upsell" me (surge protection, teflon spray for the outside blades) all of which I purchased.

Not good in my opinion. A very unprofessional, cigarette smelling and obnoxious service technician, in a way that very closely resembles a desperate used car salesman on steroids. Checked my A/C unit and within a couple of minutes determined I needed a new fan motor. Now the limited amount of time it took to find the issue, if that was indeed the actual problem, could be legitimate for a tech who is very experienced, but he didn't hesitate to first push the 2 yr service contract for over $500 which would not have included the fan motor work. He then tried to push an "entire" indoor air handler unit, not just the fan, but the entire thing with a very expensive Rheem, when I still didn't bite, he then finally said he would replace the fan motor for $450, but would not take off the $115 charge for him to show up at my door. I would only have the $115 removed, if I signed the 2 yr contract. After enduring 1/2 hr of B.S., I gladly paid him the $115 to just get out of the house. His analysis may or may not have been correct, but I did not trust this person to do the job, I did not trust his opinion, and did not beleive anything he said. Too many red flags.

We signed a two year contract with them for $420. Last year, they didn't show up for their app't and never called. This happened twice. On the third try, they finally showed up. Every time, we had to reschedule, we had to wait two to three weeks before they could get to our house. This year, they were no shows again... THREE TIMES!!! We are now leaving to go up north for the winter without having the AC checked. Not only that, we have found better companies who charge less than they do for contracts. Never use them... Run, don't walk, another AC company.

I told the whole story above. I am not letting them do the work.
Description of Work: I wish I had known about Angies List four years ago when I signed my first contract with this company. Until last November 2012 the service and quality of the work was fine. I bought an a/c unit from them three years ago. I am on my second two year contract with them and November was the semi annual maintenance check up. They ripped me off $90 for a two second spray on a wet surface but I was told this would prevent the compressor from rusting. I had turned this down twice before but weakened just to get rid of this guy. Then he told me he would charge me extra to charge the $90. but I told him I had charged with his company before and that is my only method of payment. I guess his commission is greater if he doesn't take a charges. He took it and I complained to the company and wanted to cancel my contract. They gave me a big two month extension on my contract. My a/c was leaking last week and they sent someone out who old me I was very low on coolant and had a leak that could only be fixed by replacing the copper piping to the tune of $1350. He said that included my 10% discount but I just read the contact and I should have gotten a 20% discount.. I tried to cancel but of course couldn't. Rheem, the manufacturer told me they have to tell me where the leak is. It took from Thursday to 8am Monday morning to get an answer. You see they sent a tech whose wife was on the way to the hospital to have a baby. I gave him a $350 deposit, to send him on his way to the hospital. I am killing myself now. They did not ask me if Tuesday was good for me but said they would be here between 10am and noon on Tuesday. At 1pm I called and was told that Matt, the tech, was told to call me and let me know that is was safe to install the copper pipes in damp weather, since we had a bad storm last night. I hung up on him or my neighbors would have heard me screaming at him through the walls. Matt called me with 5 min. and wanted to send the crew tomorrow and took full blame for not calling. I don't intend to have them do the work. I will tell him when he called in the morning, if he calls. Update: Last night I was very upset over the lack of communication with this company and wrote a very bad review, which they did not deserve. This morning all of my questions about my maintenance contract were answered, today's appointment was kept and I was contacted when the men were on their way, which is the service I always got before this experience. Unfortunately my house and attic were designed poorly and there was no way to get to the pipes that they needed to fix my problem without tearing down walls. They came up with an alternate solutions, which will be more maintenance for them. Today I feel a lot better about the company and the professional way the problem was handled. This is the Aztil that I have always known.

I informed the telemarketer that I am not interested in the service as Aztil has proven, on multiple occasions, to be a very unreliable vendor. The telemarketer asked me to "give them one more chance." Three strikes and they are out! Why would I give Aztil "one more chance"?
Description of Work: Aztil's telemarketing company continues to call me to schedule A/C inspection and tune-up.

Poorly. As noted above, it's too much work to deal with this organization. Very typical of south Florida companies - "no show appointments".
Description of Work: This is the second time that I've been contacted by Aztil for a check-up on my air conditioning unit. The first appointment for thise service, in November 2012. The day of the appointment, I received a confirming phone call. I later received a call indicating that the service person was "on their way". In the end, the service person was a no-show. I was contacted this time on Monday, 3/11/2013 to schedule a check-up on my AC for the price of $19. I made an appointment for Friday with a 90 minute time window. The person that contacted me was from a marketing firm, with little to no knowledge, other than to sell service appointments. No service person arrived during the scheduled 90 minute time window. Two and one-half hours later, I called Aztil and spoke with a manager to inquire about the service call. After some "searching" I was told that a service person would be at my home in 90 minutes. Three hours later, there was no service person. I called Aztil a second time. The first manager had left for the day. I spoke with a second manager, who said he would check on the appointment and get back to me. He called me back within a short period of time to gather additional information. He said he would call me back in a short period of time. After not receiving a call-back after 1 hour, I called Aztil a third time. The manager had left for the day. I was instructed to call back on Saturday. Today is Monday and I haven't heard from Aztil since 4 PM Friday. I should note that I purchased the air conditioning unit and air handler from Aztil in 2010 and last had it inspected in June 2012. At that time I had a positive experience dealing with Aztil. Now, it's too much work to deal with this organization.

Do not use this company. They want to service your a/c unit at least twice per year (a good thing) and then try to scam you once they are at your house (not a good thing). They went to my 90 yr old mother's house & the technician told her he got a shock while services her outdoor a/c unit because of melted wires. He said the cost would be $465-$500. When she objected, he "called the boss" and was able to get the price down to $265. By the time he left, the price was $200. She called and asked what to do so we had an electrician stop by and take a look. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong and no reason this guy would have gotten a shock. Just another example of how "some" local businesses try to scam the elderly. They also call her repeatedly to arrange appointments. Stay away!!
Description of Work: Routine/preventative maintenance on a/c unit that is done bi-annually. This a/c unit is only 3-4 yrs old, at most.

I've utilized Aztil, Inc. for approximately 4 years now to maintain the appliances and HVAC at a one-bedroom condo I own in St. Lucie County. A maintenance contract is needed because I lease the condo to an older woman who is not savvy about the routine maintenance (e.g., changing HVAC filters) required for the equipment and appliances in a small condo. In terms of pluses, when I make an appointment with Aztil, their technicians show up on time. In terms of minuses, they are heavily focused on selling new products that are quite expensive. During this latest service call, the technician was brought in to clean and service the HVAC unit. Upon completion of his visit, he did not review with me how he performed this work. Instead, the technician launched into a sales pitch for a $900+ ultra violet light unit that would be attached to the air handler unit to reduce "mold." When I declined the offer as too expensive, he then launched into a second sales pitch having to do with renewing my multi-year service contract, which is set to expire in 9 months. Clearly, his goal was to sell me some kind of high priced product. As nine months gives me a long time for me to consider other maintainance options, I declined to renew my multi-service contract. That didn't stop the salesman, er, I mean, technician from stepping up his sales pitch by using a high pressure tactic, i.e., that the State of Florida was about to raise the rates on all maintenance service providers and that these rate hikes would be passed onto the consumer. While I appreciated his cautionary tale about rates being hiked, I was wary of his sales pitches and the lack of discussion about what he did to clean/service my HVAC. Recommend that Aztil, Inc.: (a) start emphasizing doing the "job at hand" well; (b) stop the high-pressure sales pitches; (c) and, offer more competitive prices to their customers, many of who are on fixed, social security incomes.
Description of Work: Aztil, Inc. performed a 6-month service on the HVAC unit.
