A Cut Above the Best

We started with tree removal, which when they finally showed up to work, was done quickly and efficiently. However, the team underestimated the amount of sod needed, and we had no choice but to purchase an additional pallet, just like others have mentioned. It took forever and constant phone calls for them to install the sprinklers and sod, seriously they were AWOL for weeks! My husband was patient as they had a large cash deposit from us, and we needed the work to be done. The sod and sprinklers were installed, again when they finally showed up, quickly and efficiently. But, the sprinklers did not work correctly from the beginning, and they were finally fixed two weeks ago, nearly 4 months after we began the project. For what we spent on this project, which was more than we had budgeted, I do not feel the quality, customer service, and value were up to par. I would not recommend A Cut Above the Best to anyone, and Home Advisor should do a better job vetting their professionals.

The owner was very accommodating, soft spoken, and went out of his way to make us satisfied. The yard looks great and the sod used was top grade. The price beat everyone's by 30% or more. Will use them again in future.

The "bulb" around the cut-off limbs were not trimmed. A seed pod fell and put a hole in the pool cage. The original estimate was $250 for 5 trees - that's $50/tree. I have never paid more than $20/tree. This time I paid $30/tree.

had pavers installed on both sides of my existing curved driveway. They started the next day. Guy that installed was an artist. He was very proud of his work and it showed. It was a tough job to do because of the existing concrete driveway had arches on both sides that he had to meet. All the stones were perfectly cut. He did great work. Really happy! Everyone on the crew were very friendly and explained everything in detail.

Get the quote in writing (always a good idea). Just one mowing in, but a wonderful, thorough job.

They were the fourth company I called, but the only company to actually follow through with me and say what they were going to do!

A Cut Above the Best are great. They are willing to work with you and they did a great job and they cleaned up after themselves ...what more could you ask for?
