The work went well. I thought I was going to have to pay about $600 to get it replaced, but they were the ones that told me that the compressor was under warranty, so they got it done for about $75. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

The efforts by this firm allowed us to negotiiate on a much better level with another firm.

The necessary repairs were made and the unit was restored to proper working condition.

We are so impressed with the quick response of Marlin James that writing a check for over $600 seemed reasonable! We called them at 3pm on a Friday afternoon, on what seemed like one of the hottest days yet this summer. The technician was here by 5pm and ended up working on our system until almost 8pm. (Probably NOT how he was planning to spend his Friday evening!) He was meticulous and thorough! He needed to replace a transformer that had blown & rather than just doing that and leaving, he stayed on task to find out why it had blown. He then discovered a part that needed replaced that he didn't have on his truck. The supervisor delivered the part from their office! He had to cut the old part out and solder the new one on. They went above and beyond what we expected. They are scheduled to do our yearly maintenance soon. We will DEFINITELY be telling all of our friends about Marlin James!

Was routine maintenance - no issues - they did identify pressure was a little low so I gave OK to add some refrigerant. That appears to be a correct as the house is now a little cooler.

My seventy-seven year old mother called me (I live nine hours away) and told me that her air conditioner had broken. She called her usual company in Venice, FL. They came out and told her that her five year old unit had just come out of warranty and that she needed a reversion valve. That one part would cost her $1,125.00, labor not included! I told her not to let them come out again. I called the magnificent team at Marlin James, they had replaced my a/c system and hot water heater in my FL home in 2009. Carlina said she would ask Scott if they would go that far South, as they usually do not. She called back within minutes, Scott said of course they would! Scott, James and the entire staff are incredibly considerate of their customers, past and present. Carlina asked for all model and serial numbers in advance, so James could be prepared when he got there. James went the next day and was extraordinarily kind to my family...then again, he is always extremely polite. He found a leak and repaired it, the total bill came to $260.00. That saved my mother over $865.00! I had told Carlina what the other company said about the valve, James could have gone in there and ripped off my mother just as the others were going to, she never would have doubted him. But here's the best part, I knew beyond any doubt that would never happen. The entire team at Marlin James performs with the highest level of integrity and sheer decency. You can literally count on everyone at Marlin James to take care of your family as they would their own.

Checked current unit which ultimately needed replacing. Met with me and emailed me 3 estimates. Anticipated the work would be done on Monday as it was Friday afternoon, however they offered to do it Saturday. Workers arrived 45 minutes early and worked quickly to finish the job.

Very professional, kept me informed spent several hours checking out my heating and air conditioning also installed a programable thermosate showed me how to operate it. Very informative and honest will use them in the future.

Everyone we dealt with was extremely professional. Scottie came out to our house to give us an estimate and went over everything that needed to be done and what we wanted. He gave us some suggestions to make our ac/heating system more efficient. He was extremely thorough, explained everything and answered all of our questions. We set the appointment and the installers came right when they were supposed to. They kept everything nice and neat and our air conditioning and heat work great!!! Before, we could barely feel the air/heat coming out and now it is nice and cool when it's hot outside and toasty when it's cold outside. Scottie also helped us get the correct paperwork in order to get the tax credit. I would recommend them to everyone!!!

The technician came out as a second opinion call on my ac unit. I had received other opinions that the compressor was shorted and I was pretty sure that was the problem. However this guy went far beyond the others. He told me the ac compressor was shorted but then he looked the unit up and found out that it was still under warranty. Other companies told me no this was a cheap builder's grade model that only had a 5 year warranty. 1 company even denied to replace my compressor and wanted $6000 for a new overall unit. The other company told me the unit was not under warranty and wanted $1260 to replace the compressor. The technician from Marlin James AC found a new compressor in stock in Tampa, went and got the unit and stayed until 6 pm installing the new unit. Great service. Highly recommend.

Technician was on time and efficient. Explained what he was doing and answered all of our questions. We were very happy with their service.

Repair man arrived on time. When I told what air conditioner was doing, he went straight to problem area (out side) and replaced burnt out capaciter within minutes. Also checked freon and added one pound. He came back inside. and checked indoor unit and tightened switch inside unit.

Their professionalism, service and clean up were very nice. They were nice and friendly.

The serviceman arrived a little early, went through my entire A/C system cleaning and checking. He unstopped the primary drain, and removed water from the overflow pan (which was draining properly). He also recommended installing a safety switch to cut off the system in case the overflow pan filled with water, which I had him do. (I had already considered that before he recommended it.) The serviceman was friendly and very professional. I was surprised that the service call was only $85. (The switch installation was $100.) I will use this company again.

The company worked with me to find a time that worked with my very busy schedule. The problem had disappeared in the two days it took for me to find a time to be home. The office called me when the technician was on the way. He was there within 30 minutes of the phone call. I explained what happened, and he did a thorough inspection of the unit, which was working perfectly at the time, and identified a part that showed evidence of being burned. The technician was very polite, he showed me the part that had been damaged. I thought the estimate and replacement was fair and I appreciated having the coupon. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Used them previously to this call. Extremely Honest! This call was for after-hours work. After this call I transferred my warranty to their company and received a full refund once the warranty company paid my bill. Even though I did not purchase my 2005 unit from them, I will use them now and in the future. Have referred them many times. They have long time employees and keep you updated on their arrival status. Great company. Great service.

Our a/c was not getting enough air upstairs (too hot) and too much downstairs (too cold) except in the master bedroom. The reverse is true in the winter - too hot upstairs and freezing downstairs. Hot air rises! Brian (Scotty) came out and gave us a quote. He went into the attic and examined our duct work. He checked out the return and the handler. He determined that replacing the ductwork with larger ducts and larger grills to increase the airflow into the room would be sufficient rather than installing a new system upstairs for ~$4-$5K. The sales rep and installers were very professional and timely. The only negative comment is that no one called to let me know when they were coming - they were supposed to call the day before. I had to call and get that information myself. Otherwise, a most pleasant experience! We were happy to deal with a company that didn't try to rip us off by saying the only fix was a second system, which we couldn't afford. The air upstairs is coming through very well now!

The technician was polite, seemed knowledgeable, and was efficient.

Another A/C company (Airtron) has been performing our annual A/C system checkup for a number of years, but recently that company was purchased by another company. When a service tech from the new company checked the system he said that a number of things needed to be fixed, all of which would take a couple of thousand dollars to resolve. Much of his estimate was to resolve a mold issue in our coils, an issue that we knew didn't exist. But according to the tech, this mold was the root of all respiratory problems we have, which he made sure to ask about before he said anything about the mold. Of course we didn't trust what we were told, so after consulting Angie's List we called on Marlin James. The tech from Marlin James couldn't have been more courteous and professional. He, of course, found no sign of mold. However he did fix one issue that the other tech found, but he charged only a few dollars instead of a few hundred. So we'll happily stay with Marlin James for our annual service checks, and for any other A/C issue that might come up.

My old A/C unit was leaking freon and not very efficient. The drip pan was rusting thru. The compressor was as old as the house. I needed an entire new air conditioner and heating system for my home. Marlin James A/C and Heating fully explained the entire project from start to finish, they gave me an itemized estimate, date of installation and answered all of my questions clearly. The price was very fair and they even obtained a rebate from my electric company for me. They were punctual, professional and performed a first class installation of my new A/C unit. During the required county inspection, the county code enforcement officer even commented on what a nice job they did. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

The worker was very slow, and he charged a high labor charge. Otherwise, the work went well.

We bought the house from some one else and we had to make a lot of adjustments with our heating and the AC. They have been very responsive and are very good. They have always come when ever we have called them no matter what. If they are not able to solve the problem during the first time, they came back the second time, fix the problem and then charge us.
