The technician seemed to be very thorough in his work, he identified a potential failure of a contactor, which we had him replace. He was very forthcoming about the condition of the system and what options wee might have in the future should we decide to replace it (the compressor is the original unit on the house.) The "Red's Club" twice yearly inspection and maintenance is a good value and also offers discounts on parts should a repair be required. All in all we were very pleased with the service provided and would recommend Marlin James to List members for their air conditioning needs.

Tech arrived on schedule. Jimmy gave the unit a thorough diagnostic check. It was apparent the previous owner never serviced the unit, therefore needed a lot of work. Jimmy came back the following day; worked non-stop and I was amazed at his professionalism, knowledge and very thorough. The air conditioner and heater are working like new.

We liked Marlin James Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. But the truth is, we decided to wait on the air conditioner. So, we haven't done anything yet. He is definitely in the running. We like his manner. He described what he would do. He even came the day before we were scheduled, because he happened to be in the area. So, that worked out well. He just seemed like he knew what he was doing. He's been doing it for a long time. We felt a confidence about him. He seemed honest. He would have the experience to be able to figure out what you needed and give you a fair price.

System is working great now. Would recommend them highly to anyone needing service.

I called to get a free estimate. The serviceman, Bob, arrived promptly, gave the estimate, and installed the new water heater that afternoon. It was the most painless experience ever. Bob couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. We will definitely call and ask for him if we need help again.

After having Marlin James perform an emergency service earlier this year we had them come back to do a preventative maintenance on our system. Carlos was the technician and he was very professional and very knowledgeable of the system.

We have used their service to clean, inspect, and repair our air conditioner in the past. They have always went out of their way to show up in a hurry when the air was broken. For service, they have always shown up on time. They are very reliable and charge reasonable rates.

I had 3 different AC repair shops come out to look at the outside unit and give advise / estimates. Options were replace the compressor for $2500 (w/ 1 year warranty) or replace entire system inside and out for $7500 (w/ 10 year warranty) depending on the option choosen. I opted to replace the compressor this time. Marlin James gave the lowest estimate (by $200) and the repair person seemed very knowledgable. He came out the next day to replace the compressor. He did the repair for he estiamted price and the unit was working perfect and quiet when the job was complete.

It went great. The technician was running late and they called me a couple of times to keep me up to date on his estimated time of arrival. The tech spent about an hour checking my AC and heating system. He was professional and courteous.

I checked Angie's list and called around 5:30, the repairman was out (Friday night) around 7:30. He ran a check on the unit and found the fan was locked up. He definitely was a pro and knew exactly what was wrong and let me know the cost. He put in the new fan, made sure everything worked properly and was a total pro. He explained everything he was doing, step by step.

Allen, our service technician arrived on schedule - professional, courteous and helpful in answering every question and servcie need. I was immediately struck by his honesty in assessing the A/C unit status and laid out a detailed sequence of what needed to be done, why and how much the services / materials would cost in restoring our A/C to proper running condition. He performed a thorough inspection of the unit -- from the thermostat out through the controls on the A/C ot checking freon level statuses. He also performed inpsections of the air handling unit components as well. As a direct result of this service, I am committed to use Marlin James as my preferred A/C service provider. In fact, I will be meeting with sales staff in the next few days to review home A/C needs to prepare a plan to purchase and install a new unit - when and as needed, from them. TOTALLY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!!

It went GREAT! After checking the system he did a load calculation and recommended a couple ways to go. Not really wanting to put another return in (we have three) and not wanting ceiling dust everywhere and it was right over the flat screen and audio system. We chose way two without the extra return and it has work well. Two guys arrived and went right to work and were finished in about 4 hours. Cleaned up better than most and left the garage probably better sweep than when they arrived. We have found our A/C company for all future needs. I Scotty smarter than most at his trade, I'd have to say yes, not only did he solve our problem but saved up roughly $2000.

Another WOW! I called Marlin James late on 8-6-12 to have another opinion as to whether the defrost control board needed replacing in my outside unit. Mike with Marlin James came at 8:00 on 8-7 - right on time. Extremely nice person who worked quickly and efficiently. He thoroughly tested the outside unit and found the points on contacter were not making proper connection. He said that the defrost control board seemed to be okay for now but that Refrig. & Elec. was correct in saying that those boards do give problems so it could just be a matter of time for it since the unit is about 11 years old. Also found that the capacitor on the outside unit that had been replaced about 4 months earlier by One Hour A/C ($264) was redundant and unnecessary if wired properly so he repaired that. He checked everything on the blower unit inside and replaced the inside capacitor which wasn't up to par with the one he removed from outside. He said the coils would need cleaning before long but not mandatory now. I have spent about $1000 over the past year on work that I believe was either in part unnecessary or incorrectly done by 2 other companies. I plan to rely on Marlin James as long as possible when I have A/C problems. I couldn't be more pleased with a repair person and company. We're cool now!

Incredibly professional, arrived within scheduled time and all done within the price quoted - no surprises. Very satisfied with the service and the technician was beyond knowledgable and courteous. He was a great representative of the company. I'm glad he was my technician as he made a great first impression for the company.

Wow. Rarely have I ever been so impressed with an AC company. I have two units in my home and one malfunctioned last month so I called Marlin James to have a look, this was my first dealing with the company. James came out and was very persistent in tracking down the problem which ended up being a chip on the logic board outside that went bad. It was still under warranty so I was only charged a basic diagnostic fee. Other companies would have tacked on extra labor and trip fees, etc. Based on that experience I signed up for "Reds Club" where they come out and clean both units twice a year. This week my second unit experienced a problem. During the cleaning the tech checked the system and was honest with me that it was a bit above him (was a very pesky and complicated problem). He wrote up a report and gave me the name of a tech who was very experienced with my particular manufacturer. Today Tim came out and spent about two hours programming the panel, checking the wiring, testing temperatures of the return air and output air. He really went above and beyond. He determined it was a torn duct or something happening in the attic that was letting hot air into the mix. He then went into the attic to see if he could figure out what went wrong. I have very limited access to this part of the house so he was unable to see it clearly. I have called the company who put in recessed lighting last month so they'll be coming out to fix it. In the end he didn't charge me for the diagnostic work he did today. Incredible dedication to the customer, he said he just wanted to make sure they did all they could do to track down the problem and help me zone in on a more precise fix for the contracting company who did the damage. I will be using Marlin James AC from now on. I really am very impressed.

I called around to 3 highly rated companies on Angies List & only Marlin James answered. We had a tech out in about 40 minutes & he diagnosed the bad capacitor & had it replaced in about 10 minutes. He told me that since I was having to pay for the call, he would go ahead & check some other things & clean my coils on my outside unit. I was very satisfied with how promptly and efficiently they handled my problem. I did sign up for their Red's Club Maintenance Plan, which entitles me to 2 cleanings per year & discounts on parts, labor & no OT charges. I figured since my unit is over 8 years old, now would be a good time to invest the plan. Since that initial visit, they did schedule and have someone come out & do a thorough cleaning of my air handler unit, the outside unit and cleaned the drain line on top of a full inspection of the system.

Excellent service and professionalism

Fro the time we called until allwork was complete was done in 48 hours. We made the call from our home in Texas and they responded quickly and efficiently to our home in Florida.

I discovered water dripping onto my carpet from the ceiling, near the air conditioner. I contacted Marlin James at 8:05 AM and they had a man at the house by 8:30 AM, just as they promised. He diagnosed the problem, resolved it, and also dealt with two other issues that he brought to my attention. He was done quickly, professionally, and I was completely satisfied. Great job!

There was a little bit of a delay getting here but it was not an emergency so it did not matter. Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with the services and will use him again in the future.

They were prompt. They were neat and clean about how they did their work, and they actually solved a problem that has been an ongoing issue for a while.

The air conditioning had failed on our first floor on Saturday and we noticed the problem at 10 PM Saturday night. We called a different company that night to arrange for emergency service on Sunday (Mother's Day). We didn't need something Saturday night because we had a second unit for the upstairs so we just slept there. Sunday morning I didn't receive a call so I called the "other" company again, and again, and again. In total I made 4 calls to their answering service (10 PM Saturday, 9 AM Sunday, 12PM Sunday, 2 PM Sunday). I never received a call back from a technician. Around 4 PM I called Marlin James. I left a message with the answering service and received a call from the technician (Alan) about 5-10 minutes later. He explained he was on another job and when he though he could come down to our house. He called when he finished the previous job and got to our house around 6 PM. It took about 30 minutes to diagnose and correct the problem and then our air conditioning was working again. Given the fact that not only was this a Sunday afternoon\evening, but also a holiday, we paid a fair and reasonable price for the emergency service. They communicated well from the first call until the job was done. I would definitely use then again.
