Very happy with this service. Professional, friendly and courteous. Came on time and quickly fixed our problem. Also gave us a $10 senior discount and offered to call back in one year to see if service was needed again with no obligation. Will definitely continue with this company.

They started on my chimney and it was a very clean process. Then they cleaned my gutters and pressure washed my pool cage. They even hand brushed my screen panels. It was a big project and they kept working from start to finish.

It had been almost two years since my dryer vent had been cleaned so I turned to Angie's list once again to help me find someone dependable. I went through the list and decided on 'A Chimney Sweep and More' and I'm glad I did. The owner came out at the time frame agreed upon (5-6pm, Wednesday night) wearing his chimney sweeper hat. I showed him the dryer vent and we went right to work. After a few minutes he showed me that my dryer was also full of lint and told me he would clean it out as well for an additional 25.00 which he told me about on the pre phone call. He also showed me the two industrial brushes he used to clean it and told me I could pick them up at the hardware store so I could clean the dryer myself next time. He spent about 1 hour to clean out both the vent and dryer itself and also used a scope camera to go up the pipe to make sure it was clean up to the roof. He took the time to explain everything, trimmed down the dryer to vent pipe and showed me the bag full of lent he cleaned out. When I asked him how often I needed to have the vent cleaned he said every two years since there is just my wife and I and once a year for a family of four. I think he did a great job and he gave me a 10.00 discount for using the AL coupon. Don't forget to shake his hand at the end of the job because it is good luck to shake a chimney sweepers hand. BTW he gave me a free writing pen - mini flash light as a thank you gift.

Dennis responded promptly to phone voice-mail and arranged an appointment Arrived ahead of schedule and immediately commenced work. Did chimney sweep and cleaned badly needed dryer vent. Cleaned fire place glass and surfaces around it. Cleaned floor around dryer and the dryer itself. Realigned flexable duck between dryer and wall vent to provided much improved venting. I am very pleased with Dennis' service and will use him again; and recommend to others.

I called ... Dennis picked-up right away ... scheduled my appointment for later that same week ... he showed up, complete with Top Hat and friendly demeanor ... did a very thorough cleaning, inspection and evaluation. I'll use him every year!

Very odd experience--showed up an hour early while I was in the shower, wouldn't have heard him except for my dog barking furiously. His explanation was his previous job was finished early, apparently hasn't heard of or chooses to not use cell phones and voice mail. Spent 15 minutes on the chimney and 20 minutes on the dryer duct. I found a big wad of lint on my lawn the next day. Ash/grime stains on my washer from his equipment. Nice guy, but have no idea about his competence based on short times for chimney and dryer duct. Maybe I should have followed the time-honored advice to get three estimates, but he had excellent Angie's List ratings. Also refused to honor the Angie's List coupon because he had already given me a $15 discount. Well, then, why bother to be on Angie's List if you are not going to honor their agreements and discounts? I'm not going to quibble about $5, but I don't like vendor/contractors changing the rules without informing me in advance. The only consolation for me was that he charges $150 for gutter cleaning, and I do that myself, so I'm pleased that I'm saving that much dough. My advice, get three estimates--in this economy, my guess is you can do better price-wise.

Dennis was fantastic. He was prompt, very tidy (no mess anywhere), quick, and very competitively priced (I'd called around a bit and he was almost the cheapest). Plus he honored the Angie's List coupon and knocked off quite a bit from the dryer vent/duct cleaning because he was performing both services on one visit. I will definitely use him again!

Dennis and his partner arrived on time and got right down to business. They worked efficiently and were very professional. We will definitely use them again. I wish I knew he took care of gutters too, amongst other things.

Dennis arrived on time. Cleaned the chimney from the inside and then inspected the top from the roof. He left everything clean and gave me the information I needed so that it will stay clean and safe for many years.

We needed the dryer vent cleaned after we'd rented out our house for two years. A Chimney Sweep is a company we had used once before, several years ago. We were delighted to see the top hat - a distinctive uniform! Our gutters were abysmal, and he cleaned them as well. Very impressive that he bagged the dirt from the dryer vent and took it with him rather than throwing it in our trash can. He also bagged the gutter contents. The experience was superior!

Mr. Verkest arrived in his chimney sweep garb with his tall black hat. He also performed the exterior roof cleaning in the rain. The process was efficient. He was very careful and tidy with all the lint generated from the cleaning. The drying time was reduced by over 50% and the dryer does not overheat. I learned a lot and I would highly recommend Mr. Verkest for dryer cleaning.

Everything went fine, it took them less than an hour. I didn't have to do anything at all. The employee was actually a few minutes early for the appointment, which was fine with me.

Very friendly and cute wearing a chimney sweep outfit. Showed my how to use my flue properly and that my outside air intake was not connected by the builder.

I called Dennis this morning because my clothes dryer had become very inefficient. I suspected the vent was clogged and asked Dennis to check things out. He came out at the appointed time and was every bit as polite and effective as when I had him check out our chimney last fall. Dennis cleared the vent, from the dryer to the vent on our roof. He cleaned under the appliance, wiped up the laundry room floor and repositioned the dryer to maximize effectiveness. I just dried four large "pool" towels in forty minutes, thanks to Dennis!

I called Dennis in the early afternoon and asked him to come over as soon as possible as my family enjoys using the fireplace as often as we can. He told me he could come over after his appointment at four thirty that day. I was thrilled at such fast service and even more pleased when Dennis phoned right back to say he could actually come right over as the traveling distance was so short between stops. Dennis was professionally clad, right down to his top hat! I was very impressed by Dennis' explanation of what had happened in our fireplace and his spot on diagnosis of the situation. Fifteen minutes later, he was finished his inspection and we were ready to light a log. I will be calling upon Dennis this summer to clean our chimney and dryer vent and put him on a yearly schedule of maintenance for us.
