They did and excellent job!!! We would highly recommend and definitely use them again. We had received estimates from 2 other companies and Mid-Florida was very competitive. Ken Jones (he is an excellent individual) provided the estimate and supervised the entire job. Ken initially estimated that the job would take most a day. However, two full crews (approx. 20 workers) arrived at the scheduled time and completed the entire removal and clean up in 2.5 hours. The stumps were ground the next day. All workers were efficient and polite. They went above and beyond what they had to do as they cut up some firewood for a neighbor and took action to save 2 young woodpeckers that were found in one of the dead palms. We were very impressed with the entire crew and job results!!!!! Thanks to Ken and his employees for an excellent experience!!!! 6/17 I forgot to mention that the crew was very careful not to damage a nearby Rain tree and a PVC picket fence.

The large camphor tree was the first to go. A philodendrum was damaged from a large log but it will come back. The large oak was the next to go. My lily plants were damaged but should be ok. Large limbs on another oak over my roof were removed and another over my pond was elevated. queen palms down my driveway were deadheaded. all in all the work was very well done. The stumps were ground and a little extra was performed. We had 3 estimates and chose them for the price and reviews from your page. we will use them again when we are ready to sell the house.

Tom was the one who showed up punctually for the consultation. He was very informative and forthcoming with information, and spent close to an hour with me. He explained that he was an arborist involved in the live oak preservation program with Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa, and was very pleased to know of my interest in preserving the live oaks on my property. Told me exactly how to prepare for the house and foundation demolition and what to tell the crew. Also gave me good advice to share with contractor prior to the excavation of footers for new house, and what to do if we need to cut any roots (most likely). Very polite and respectful. Looked at my damaged trees (cattle) and explained how to trim the bark in damaged areas to help the tree. Told me he was going to come out after the old house has been removed to work out a specific plan for root preservation in preparation for the excavation for the foundation. Also will work up a proposal for some limb and branch trimming to make sure everything is set for insurance purposes as well. Did not charge me a thing for the visit. After the demolition, Tom came out again to the property. He and I examined the site in detail. I knew I needed to trim back some limbs on 6 very large live oaks to make room to fly in the trusses for the new house, and also for insurance purposes. Tom was very careful to point out limbs that were structural, and worked out a plan with me to trim smart, with as little harm to the trees as possible. I also had a half dozen very tall sable palms that needed trimming. And, I had a very large, mature Laurel Oak that we both agreed was at end of life and needed to be removed. (I had another very large Laurel Oak in my main pasture that needed to go, but was not sure I wanted to make the expense at that point as things were adding up.) As the cost for the work was approaching $4200, Tom suggested paying for a crew for three full days at $1500/day, and they'd get done as much as possible in that time frame. In the end, they did the work specified, also removed the second huge Laurel Oak that was not planned, "elevated" oaks all over the property, trimmed several other palms in other areas of the property, and also left me with about 10 yards of excellent mulch. Lamar, who runs the crew, was very polite and professional. I spent a lot of $, but also got a lot of work done. I could tell that Tom and the crew appreciated my goal of preserving the trees, and they worked very hard to trim with that in mind.

I would recommend them. They are one of the oldest tree services in Tampa Bay and work hard to protect their business reputation. The estimator was the project manager - son of the owner. He was a certified arborist and knew everything about these trees and how to care for them. We followed his advice and were glad. No more falling diseased branches that could crush something. They are licensed, bonded and insured and have all the certififications, plus good customer reviews.

They are a low priced tree service company. They did what they said they were going to do for us. I didn’t get any of the usual stuff like, “that is going to be extra or we don’t do that”. They cut the trees down and they took them away. They cleaned up after themselves great. I am planning to hire them again to cut down two more trees. The price was really good.

We dealt with Tom Conte, an arborist and manager. He is a class act for sure. Mid-Florida Tree Service said they would do the work today and in spite of nearly continual rain they completed the task. They had a crew of 12 people working assiduously until the tree work was done and the clean-up completed. Shortly after the mass of tree trimmers left, the stump grinder person arrived to finish the contract completely. The above description of work done is accurate, but does not adequately convey the huge amount of work that was done by this very large group of men. My husband and I certainly feel we received full value for the money spent. We are so pleased we had Mid-Florida do this big job for us, and we would recommend dealing with Tom Conte as a fine representative for the company. A person of honesty and integrity.

I called for a quote and Tim came out right on schedule. We walked around and discussed the work to be done and he gave a detailed written quote. I scheduled the work to be done the following week. The crew showed up right on schedule, we walked through the work to be done again and they went right to work. In the course of doing the trimming a limb fell and did some minor damage to our mailbox post. They immediately notified me. I received a call asking for details on how to get it repaired. Since I had purchased the mailbox and post receently I had the details and gave them to him. Today, two days later they showed up with the replacement part and made the repair.These folks know how to run a business. They are prompt and professional. I would use them again without hesitation.

They were good. The crew was big and they were about twelve people. I had a huge amount of tree work that needed to be done. They did it quickly and efficiently. They were very good.

They were excellent to work with! They were very efficient, on time, completed the job within the time they said they would, cleaned up after themselves, and were very professional.

Punctual for estimate, permit application and arrival for work. I did not witness the work but neighbor spokle highly of their execution. Property was cleaned up after their work was done.

To our great satisfaction, they did not do any damage to the house, roof, nearby fence or a storage shed that was near the outside limit of the tree's canopy. They used ropes instead of a crane and no cut limb even made a mark on anything other than the yard (turf), which we considered both minimal and unavoidable due to the size and weight of this tree and its limbs and trunk. They cleaned up very well. Stump was ground by a subcontractor who also did an excellent job and also protected utility wires that were placed about 8-feet from the tree trunk. Apparently no accidents, no dings or damage to structures, and no damage to utilities.

We have used Mid-Florida trees for thirty years and they have always done a wonderful job. They're a little higher in price but we think it worth it. They are licensed, bonded and insured. When one of their trucks damaged our driveway some years ago they replaced! No questions asked! They have a certified arborist who comes by annually to evaluate the trees on our property. He's always been helpful, professional, courteous and responsive. We've also used Mid-Florida Tree Service on an emergency basis. The respond immediately. Can't ask anything more than that!

I appreciated what they did. I thought they did a good job. The only complaint I had about them is, I know they had some young people working for them but you have to show respect for people's property. Trash wasn't in the garbage can. In the back when they cut down the tree, part of the tree fell down on the fence, and broke it. When I walked out the back door they were trying to put it back together and if I hadn't seen I don't think they would have told me about it.

The whole service was excellent. Tom came by for an estimate exactly as planned and I took a few minutes for me to tell him what I wanted done. I wanted everything trimmed that was touching the house and to remove a tree. He explained what type of tree that was and that it did not need a permit. He had a list on the back of his clipboard. After he saw what I wanted, he quickly gave me an estimate. Since the price was extremely competitive (got 3 other quotes), I told him I'd like them to do the work right away. He put me on the books on Monday afternoon, but it rained a lot in the morning so he called me to inform me that we were going to have to reschedule. So they came out Wednesday and finished the job. I paid via credit card over the phone and they sent me a receipt through email. The whole service from start to finish was painless - and I'll definitely use them again when I need to trim the trees.

Mid-Florida Tree Service arrived on time, and completed the work before the day was done. The crew was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. All debris was hauled away and our yard was left as it was found (sans a tree and a few overhanging branches).

They were prompt and courteous. They were also very efficient. They sent an arborist out to see what needed to be done. They worked around my schedule very well.

I had used Mid-Florida Tree Service once before, so I called them first. Their price was reasonable given the situation, and they were able to do the work in a very reasonable time frame. They worked all day, removed the tree, and did a very good clean up job. I will use them again.

They came when they said they would and went right to work. They definately know what they are doing. They had to be careful of our roof and power lines. There was no damage to anything. They cleaned up very well afterwards. The stump grinder came after the crew was finished and ground up the stump and the surface roots. A few days later when my husband distributed all the mulch he discovered a surface root that had been missed. I called them back to let them know and the problem was resolved the very next day. Everyone I spoke to with this company was very polite and professional including the crew. They did a great job for a great price. We will definately call them again for future jobs. I have already recommended them to my Brother-in-law.

Jeffrey came through my So. Tampa neighborhood last week looking for work. I asked him about trimming my two cabbage palms (each at least 50' tall). He quoted me $ 100 each (they hadn't been done in several years). I asked him to return the following week. In the meantime, my husband thought the one palm should be removed (real close to the house/roof, and some noticable soft/decaying holes). Jeffrey agreed, and quoted me $ 600 to remove the one tree and trim the other. I also had them remove some scraggly low suckers from 3 oak trees for another $ 50. The were concerned about the proximity of the palm to the house, but devised a pulley system to lower the wood chunks down without too much damage to my yard. One of the palms had a bee/wasp nest in it also. They did a good job of cleaning up, and were very courteous.

I called on Monday. Jeff called me back that day with an estimate and indicated that he could do it the next day. They came on the following day as they said they would and ground down the stump.

Contacted Mid Florida, as well as several other companies. Tom came out immediately, discussed our options, made suggestions, and gave us a bid. The bid was lower than the other two- Tom had mentioned he wanted to keep the crews busy... being rated well with Angies List took any fear out of having another charge dropped on us at a later date. We called Liz and told her we wanted to move forward- the permit was ascertained, and we could have had it done earlier- like two days later- but I was not going to be in town... so we went with the next business day. The crew arrived and under the supervision or Rick took down this massive tree without incident- avoiding our neighbor's new fenceand our newly planted bamboo trees. They used ropes and climbers, as well as pully's and trucks to lower the massive pieces into the truck. Afterwards, they cleaned up and left the area much as it had been prior to their arrival. The massive stump was ground today... and again, done as expected- and professionally completed... I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

I called and asked for an estimate. They came the next day for the estimate. I accepted the estimate and they came the next morning to do the work. They were on time and there were 8 people and the estimator that came. It was a 20 foot tall tree. They cut it down and took it away and then ground the stump. They did all this in 2 hours, including clean up. It was a good price. I thought they were excellent.

After discovering that a very large tree near my house had blown onto another tree after some high winds, I called several tree services to find one that could remove the tree as soon as possible. Only Mid-Florida Tree Service was able to come by in less than a couple hours. Since I was concerned that the tree could come down at any time, threatening my house and my neighbor's, I very much appreciated Mid-Florida's fast response. I had never used their service, but their reviews on Angie's List were very positive. An arborist from Mid-Florida stopped by, assessed the situation, and agreed to send a crew out that day. As promised, the crew arrived within an hour or so, very efficiently removed the tree with no problems, and thoroughly cleaned the area. The price was exactly as quoted, and was very reasonable compared to other tree services I had used. The staff at Mid-Florida Tree Service went out of their way to help with a potentially dangerous situation.
