Mid-Florida Tree Service

Although we had a small communication snafu in setting it up, we couldn't be more pleased with the results. We chose them because of their great rating on Angie's List, and we were NOT disappointed. Crew was professional and respectful - no crude language or cussing. They came in and did a speedy, thorough, quality job. WE WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND TO OTHERS!!

Could not get service on a day when I could be home to watch and further explain what we wanted done. They came when they said they would and cleaned up everything very nicely. What they didn't do was PRUNE ANY OF THE TREES. They just sawed off branches from two camphor tress and one oak in our front yard. They were specifically asked NOT to raise the canopy and change the basic character or shape of any of the trees. We have cameras on our house and watched the work that was done (after the fact) and saw NOTHING BUT SAWING OFF BRANCHES, ABSOLUTELY NO PRUNING. We used this company with confidence, as this was the third time they have come out for us in the past 15 years. Don't know who they have on their crew now, but they absolutely do not seem to know how to prune a tree. We now have three HAT RACKS in our yard. They sent out a representative the next morning to take a look and his response was "the look fine, but we'll take $75 off your bill". This won't bring back our beautiful trees. Very unhappy with their service.

The crew showed up on time and was very accommodating to a change in the planned work due to a neighbor. The Forman was very nice and cordial. I seen at least 8 men on the job with professional equipment to get the job done. They cleaned up the mess and blowed all the debris off of walkway and driveway. I am very pleased!

Service was great, they did a great job on the trimming, although I had called them in December and they were unable to come out until the end of January.

The crews were very prompt, and courteous. The work was done in the time we expected and great care was shown for our property. The crews cleaned up the yard (raking leaves, blowing off the driveway) and left the yard clean of debris.

This is the second time we have contracted Mid Florida to trim our trees. They do an excellent job and leave our trees looking beautifully shaped and healthy - not scalped! They were on time, professional and friendly. They worked carefully and left our yard looking clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend them.

Job was very professional. Mid-Florida rep Tom Conte was very prompt in the bid process. Tree removal crew arrived as scheduled, on time, and with all necessary equipment. I met with crew supervisor then left them at the house. Job was completed in 1 day while I was at work, including cleaning up debris and stacking the requested firewood. Tom came back by at the end of the day to inspect the job and to be sure I was completely satisfied.

Great experience. Provider came by and did a great job trimming our oak tree. Looks healthier than ever...no more scraggly branches!

After scheduling an estimate date Tim came out and thoroughly went through each of my tree concerns. There were 6 trees in question and eventually we ended up trimming 1 tree and cutting down 3 trees (grinding out the stumps on 2 of those). The remaining 2 were left untouched. Tim knew his stuff and I felt confident with his advice. I was impressed with the quote given so I almost hired Mid Florida on the spot but, doing my due diligence, had already scheduled a 2nd estimate the next day. Long story short, the 2nd company never showed up so that made my decision easy. To note, the 2nd company called a day later to apologize for standing me up but I had already made the decision to go with Mid Florida. After doing the necessary permit required paperwork shortly thereafter a service date was later scheduled, all told about 3 weeks in time. The crew came out on time, was friendly and polite, and did their jobs in an efficient manner. They cleaned up their mess meticulously too. No complaints. Tim also stopped by for a bit early in the process to review things with the foreman and to see if I had any other concerns. All was good. After the tree cutting crew departed in the early afternoon the stump grinding professional came by and completed the job. Everything went smoothly. All in all Mid Florida Tree Service did a nice job and did so at what I believe to be a fair price. I would recommend this company to other Angies List members and would hire them again.

Came out and have very fair quote. Very quickly and as promised. Liz followed up with a call and emailed quote. We did not go with any quote actually we ended doing job with a friend but if we were mid florida was a shoe in. Thank you

The person who came out for the estimate was very knowledgeable, professional and prompt. He even came back to give me an additional estimate because I wanted to add additional services.

I called them in December 2013. It took about a month to get a permit which is standard in the city of Tampa. It was advantageous of using them because one of the guys who was the supervisor had some contacts with the city of Tampa forestry department. He was able to take care of the permitting himself. They gave me an estimate of $3654 to cut down a 36-inch grand Laurel oak. They originally wanted about $7000 last summer during peak season. They gave me a discount in the winter. It is a hard tree to cut down in my opinion because there’s not much room in our property and the property next to us. They did that over the course of 2 days in early January. They also threw in trimming of our large Magnolia. They did a perfect job of making it nice of that Magnolia. There were about 6 guys in the crew. They were very professional. They took care of everything in 2 days. They accidently broke one of my sprinkler lines and they had it repaired the second day they were taking the tree down. I would highly recommend them. They gave me that estimate of $3654 back in December and it was the exact amount it came to. That was real nice.

They did a really good job. They did the work in a day and cleanup was good.

Their crew arrived on time and jumped right into the trees literally. They did not use a bucket truck, instead they had several climbers go all the way up into the oak trees. I was amazed by how quickly they knocked down the big branches. The climbers hung rope over the highest limbs to control the cut limbs descent. They cleaned all the trimming and blew off the clippings from the roof. These guys were organized and I appreciated their energy and professionalism.

After hiring them I did not received a phone call from their office to schedule the work to be done. I end up calling them. Maybe I was supposed to call them. I can't recall though. After the job was scheduled everything went perfect! They were there on time. They seem very organized. The crew was working well together and got the job done quickly. The tree was big. It was higher than the electrical lines next to it. The stump got grind the next day. Both the cutting down the tree and grinding the stump was done quick and they left the yard clean. I would highly recommend Mid-Florida Tree Service.

They had to remove a large oak tree that was damaging the driveway and sidewalk. They brought in a full crew, with a bucket truck, a chipper, and a stump grinder. They completed the work in a couple hours and cleaned up nicely after themselves.

I got estimates from three tree services. Mid-Florida tree was not the lowest but coming on a recommendation from a family member, we chose them to do our project. We could not be happier, Ken and his crew showed up on time and worked fast. The job was quoted for two days, they had it done in 1 1/2. This included removing two large oaks which grew across the access to the property and approximately 500ft of low hanging limbs and brush, which Ken and his crew trimmed to better than 14ft higher to gain access to the property. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to family and friends.

Left a message saying I'm Angie's list customer needing tree service. They called back next day and said I needed to speak with an arborist ( I have a huge bottle brush tree that needed attention) - the lady on the phone said the arborist would call me back the next day. Never rec'd a call back

No good on customer service.

Mid Florida was awesome. I originally contacted 3 different tree service company's to obtain quotes for the work. Mid-Florida was the only service provider which responded to our request for a quote. We were very impressed with how quickly Jeff responded to our request, within 24 hours, and the price quotation he provided. Jeff was professional, punctual, and communicated with us regularly. I have already recommended Mid-Florida to several neighbors and will continue to do so. Highly recommend them.

We live in South Tampa and have a few oak trees on our rather small property. Tom came to inspect the trees to provide an estimate for trimming before storm season. He informed us that the grand Laurel Oak in our backyard was dying and would likely need to be removed in the very near future. He provided a fair estimate and always engaged in professional behavior. Instead of delaying the inevitable, we decided to proceed with tree removal. The Laurel Oak was "protected" due to it's size so we had to go through a special permitting process with the city. Fortunately, this was hassle-free for us because Mid-Florida Tree Service deals with the permitting, noticing the neighbors, etc. as part of their fee. It was so nice to have somebody else handle that part of the process for us! Once the permitting was obtained, they scheduled the tree removal. We were out of town, but our neighbors and family said that it went extremely fast and they didn't let a single branch fall on neighboring properties. Many of our neighbors have commented that they plan on hiring Mid-Florida in the future after watching them skillfully remove our tree. We couldn't be happier with the end result!

Ken came to give me an appraisal or estimate. The crew showed on time they were very polite and proffessional. They came on time and did all the job very carefully. The price was good and they were very careful while cutting the tree. I need to cut another tree in the fall and I will call them again

Mid-Florida Tree Service excelled in all areas of the job. From the scheduled time for estimating the job to job start/completion they were prompt, performed the job as agreed and at what I felt to be a very reasonable price (I had a total of three estimates). I was also very pleased with their clean-up!

Tim had the best of several estimates. He sent a large crew that performed quickly and efficiently. They had to do what Tim called a recovery trim because there was a lot of dead branches (tree may be on its way out). Very satisfied with this company.
