Mossy Oak Fence is a full service fence installation company located in Orlando, Florida. Mossy Oak Fence can trace its roots back to 1992, when it started as a residential fence installation company in the Metro Atlanta market. After 12 strong years of success building custom wood fences and decorative aluminum fences, the owners of Mossy Oak Fence saw an opportunity to fill a void in the Orlando and Central Florida fence markets. So in 2004 Mossy Oak Fence began bringing the same level of professionalism to Central Florida that brought them many awards for excellence in Atlanta. 10 employees. Occasionally uses subs for commercial projects. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. No service charges. May contact through email or phone. Financing available on all of our fence products including all type of wood fences, vinyl fencing, aluminum fencing, steel fences, and wire fencing in Orlando and Central Florida.
They would only do a quote from their office instead of sending someone out to look at the work to be done. When I offered to send pictures to help them understand, they declined. A lack of responsiveness I have not seen previously with any contractor when trying to get business.

Terrible communication among their staff. Multiple people had no idea what other departments were doing. Delays in getting permitted when I was told that permits were being dropped off, was days later when they actually arrived. Installation took multiple days when it should have take only take one. Had to call to get them to come out and finish work as they did not call to tell me that the next day meant the next week. Only reasonable person that I worked with was the sales rep. Everyone else blamed others, made excuses and passed the buck.

The estimate went very well. Wayne was very responsive and was able to make changes to the original estimate to accommodate us. They got the building permit and everything was going fine. Small problem when the company could not make the initial build date due to the fact that they had not received all the materials from the company. Had to rearrange some work commitments. Team arrived on the new day and I was very satisfied with them. Quick, efficient ,and professional. They answered all my questions. I was very happy with them/

The lock on the back gate broke, which is located directly on a public trail accessed by hundreds of people every day. I have urged Mossy Oak to repair this lock since having an open gate to my property is a major security issue, but they keep delaying the repair. They are backed up, or the part hasn't come in yet - whatever excuse they can offer. It has been broken for almost a month now. In my opinion this is terrible customer service from a fence company. The purpose of a fence is to provide security and the one they installed is not secure. Next time I will go with a company that takes better care of their customers. Update on June 16, 2015 Mossy Oak did come out to repair the lock so I have revised my review from an overall "D" to an overall "B." The reason it's not an "A" is because it still took longer than I feel is acceptable to leave a customer with a defective lock and they stood me up on a couple of appointments. Also, I think the reason why it finally got fixed was because they read my review and decided to take action to fix this problem. Someone from the company called me to discuss this review and then next thing I know they came out to fix the gate. I'm glad it's fixed, but I wish it would have been done quicker and without me having to leave a negative review.

I got in touch with Mossy Oak through their website. I filled out their online form and was immediately contacted back the same day by email wanting to set up a time for someone to come out and give an estimate. I told them I had already received a couple of estimates and had the type of fencing, footage and pictures I could email them. Nicole contacted me back and said that would be great. She would take a look at the pictures, the other estimate and the footage and would give me an estimate based on that. If it seemed reasonable, she would schedule a time for someone to come out and just look over the project and sign a contract to perform the work. This was on Thursday (5/21/15). I received an email from Nicole on 5/22/15 apologizing for the delay but they would be closed on Monday (Memorial Day) and she would have my quote to me on Tuesday (5/26/15). That was the last contact I had with Mossy Oak - No quote, no follow up, nothing. I checked through my email - junk and spam folders just to make sure I had not missed anything but as of today (6/1/15) I still have heard nothing.

Lots of issues, lots. The fence estimate was to remove and replace my fence as it was correcting two areas where I was encroaching. Much to my surprise when they failed to meet my neighbors fence (which I had permission to do) leaving a sizeable gap and an old wood post. Nobody from MO called to see if I was happy with the install, they just sent me a bill. I called and had many many conversations with one of the managers. I learned that they could not meet my neighbors fence because this would cause another encroachment issue. Why was I never told this when I was getting the estimate? Did they expect me to live with a 6" gap in the fence? I held up the final payment and gave them two options, either fix the fence, meeting my neighbors, or take out what they had installed. They chose to come back and extend the fence in the two areas. I just wanted them finished and out of my life. They left bits of trash in my yard, didn't smooth out the mounds they made from digging the posts, didn't originally glue the caps on the posts (they did come back and correct this). Not a good experience, so sorry I chose them, I won't recommend them to anybody or use them again in the future.

Received a quote via email based on 300' of wood fence. Mossy oak quoted me $1,950 for material and install. When the salesman came to the home he quoted me $4,000. I showed the salesman the emailed quote and he said that there must have been a mistake. He called the owner and they would not Honor the Price given via email.

Having just purchased a new home, I needed to replace all the sod at both the front and back of my new house, and also wanted to install a fence to the side and back for both privacy and security reasons. I decided to get quotes from the top three rated fence installation companies on Angie's List. All the quotes I received seemed similar in nature in terms of quality so I went with Mossy Oak who were the cheapest. As I was also laying new sod, I asked Mossy Oak if they were able to do the the fence installation on one day, get my landscaper to then lay the sod, and then get Mossy Oak to come back and install the gates as this approach would have given me the best quality solution for both the new sod and the fence. I expected Mossy Oak to charge a nominal fee for having to make two visits, but when they told me they would charge $150, I told them this was way too high so forget it. When the installers turned up to install the fence, they started to dig the posts in completely the wrong locations. I had not yet moved into the property at this time, so I was very lucky that I went round to the property early that morning, as no one from Mossy Oak had contacted to me to advise me that their people were on site or to confirm with me what needed doing before commencing work. Once I had showed them the correct post locations (as per the approved plan that was submitted to obtain the fence permit), I noticed that the way they were installing the posts and fence panels meant that in some places, there were gaps of around 8 inches from the ground level to the bottom of the fence panel. My property is on relatively flat ground, so I was bemused as to why the gaps were so high in some areas. I had to call the person that did the quote for me, to get him to explain to the installers what my concerns were, as they didn't seem understand what I was trying to explain to them, even though I was trying to communicate to them in a very plain and basic way what my concerns were. Eventually, they seemed to finally understand what my concerns were, and mainly rectified the problem, even though there were still quite a few areas where the gaps between the ground and the base of the fence were large enough for animals/rodents to enter. Finally, when the installers finished, they just upped and left without informing me, and did not walk through the finished fence with me, or go through the sign-off sheet that they had earlier given to me. I decided that although I was not completely happy with the fence, I would get another company to come and do the remaining work I wanted, as I was very disappointed and annoyed with my experience with Mossy Oak. No-one from the company called me subsequent to the fence installation, even though they would not have received the completed sign-off sheet from me. The last correspondence I received from Mossy Oak was when they mailed the fence permit to me a week or so later. Overall, I was very disappointed with the level of customer service, competency and professionalism I received from Mossy Oak. They have lots of positive reviews on Angie's List, and that's one of the factors that influenced my initial decision to go with them, but my experience with both their admin/office staff and their installers has been very poor.

They quoted $4500; it is a big yard, which is why I delayed it. I don't know much about their reputation but they came and did their job right on time. I just couldn’t hire them at that time because of what I was planning to do inside the house; I remodeled both bathrooms and the kitchen. I have nothing to compare their price to. They were great, sharp and clean. I might use them but after comparing the prices to other providers.

The salesrep that came out to review our property was very professional and knowledgeable. When the work was scheduled to be done, the team was on time to perform the work. They did a great job of cleaning up after the construction was done. Unfortunately, there was a shortage of materials they needed to construct the special arched gate. They kept in contact with us when the materials would be in, and then returned to finish the gate when they said they would. All our neighbors stop by to tell us how beautiful the fence is. It is a quality product and we are extremely happy with it. We would highly recommend this company.

The company was very prompt in installing the fencing, and very professional during the entire process from getting the estimate, to clean-up. They came back to make one adjustment on one of the gates when requested. The price was comparable to Lowes, but the process in getting a quote and follow-up were much better. Even though the price was slightly higher, it was well worth it.

Due to a problem-some dog that kept coming into my yard after my dogs, I needed something that was aesthetically pleasing yet functional to keep this dog from ripping up my screened in patio. I called a few fence vendors. Some called back and some didn't. Of the fence vendors that called back and came to give an estimate, Mossey came in at a fair price. However, what really impressed me was Clark's explanation of the fence and the fact that he had a sample for me to touch, see and feel. I wanted to compare the quality of that with Home Depot or Lowes. Their's far exceeded the quality of the box stores. Clark was also willing to come back when I had more questions and the company offered the longest warranty. Everyone I dealt with was very professional. My only issue was that they planned the date of the fence installation without consulting me. Also, when the town had not yet approved the permit, they did not let me know the installation was pushed. Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

I contacted Mossy Oak for a fence quote and a sales person responded quite quickly to come to my property and take measurements to provide the quote. Of course there was some price negotiation to which I would have to follow up to find out what the owner had/would agree to. One price for an under the table cash deal, another for terms, etc. The sales person would always claim he thought the ball was in my court, but finally admitted he simply forgot to get back to me as he was spread pretty thin. That should have been my first indicator to how the process would go. Terms are finally agreed to, fence install scheduled for the beginning of April and I thought it would be a seamless process from there. Wrong. Fence installers came and worked their butts off to get it all done in a day as I have a pool. Of course it?s dark when they finish so I can?t tell how the finished product looks. Well, the fence was built on site, but the distance between the posts was all different ? not an inch or two ? some were sixteen inches wider apart than the next post. The gates also did not close properly and there were nails sticking through all over the place. I took pictures and emailed them in to Mossy Oak. Rather than receiving a call to schedule a fix, I get a call for the balance due payment. I of course would not release payment until everything was satisfactory and I was told that the warranty does not kick in until the work was paid in full. I informed them that this was an install issue, not a warranty issue. Finally, after a couple of weeks of waiting they scheduled someone to come out and do the repairs ? move one post (the most aesthetically irritating one)to have it centered, repair two gates (built wrong), repair some of the pickets that were nailed on crooked, fill in holes that were left open and repair two broken sprinkler heads. The warranty fellow (who is actually a plumber doing fence repair on the side) shows up at 6 pm ? obviously not enough time to do the repairs nor does he have the right materials. So another appointment has to be made, and I again have to miss work. Finally the crew chief comes out, assesses the situation, agrees with me, and brings in a couple of guys to do the work. Well the work was done, but not completely. None of the crooked pickets were fixed and I had given up on the sprinkler heads so did those myself. This is now a month later and the replaced boards are of course a different color so now I have to wait some more before I can stain (which had already been scheduled) as the boards have to ?breathe and dry? and hopefully turn the same color. Another two weeks in and the boards are still a different color and the crooked boards have not been fixed. This one/two day job has become a two month project and is still not complete. Now they want me to leave my property unsecured or miss more work again so that the city can do their final inspection. Of course they had to add that if the inspectors came and didn?t have access I would be assessed a fee for a re-inspection and if the permit remained open and then expire I would potentially have trouble selling my property in the future, blah blah blah. Really? Now the scare tactics come into play? So it is now June 23rd and the fence installation repairs are still not complete. The owner of Mossy Oak stopped by without appointment to see if he could solve the problems and demand that the balance due be paid the next day. There was one picket left to put on straight and I had told them that for over a week. He tried to say they had accommodated all of my changes (which changes - correcting the poor placement of the post and repairing their errors?) to which I told him he was being ridiculous as every time they had to come out was because they failed to complete the job correctly. Right from the start I gave them pictures and a punch list ? nothing was added to the list except for the discovery of more crooked boards ? they just could never do anything 100%. He actually told me that they were the best fence company in town but had such a stack of repairs to do and they couldn?t keep coming over ? well get it done right the first time then?and if you?re the best why the stack of repairs. He also told me that their contract stated that they could do the fence however they wanted so they didn?t have to try to have the posts at equal distances from each other. He seemed to think that if one post was closer to the next by 16? that was ok. I can understand an inch or two, but not sixteen, and the argument that there was probably a root in the way did not hold since that was the post I had them relocate to center and it went in just fine. Nice attitude, nice contract. He also said that any other fence company would tell me to jump in the pool if I requested them to fix their install errors. Again, really? Maybe I am too particular (I don?t think so), I spent a lot of money to replace my fence to have security, privacy and an aesthetically pleasing property, and I think I should get what I contracted for. The Mossy Oak sales pitch and commercials were fantastic and I thought I would be dealing with an outstanding company, but I am not at all happy with Mossy Oak Fence. If you want a company who takes almost 3 months to satisfactorily complete a simple board on board fence, and you want to babysit them, miss a bunch or work and then put up with their attitude, I highly recommend Mossy Oak Fence. Otherwise, stay clear.

This is the first time I have looked into replacing my fencing. I was trying to divide teh work into two smaller jobs instead of one big one. I learned that it is better to have all of the work completed at one time, which actually would lower the overall cost per foot. I have decided to wait until I have budgeted the amount to replace all of my fencing.

The estimator was very late--almost an hour--with no call to advise that he was running behind. When he arrived, I told him what I was looking for estimates on (repair fence, replace with wood, replace with PVC). This matched exactly what I had communicated to the company via email, on two occasions. As we went over my requests, he promptly advised me that, "they don't fix fences." This was totally contrary to what I had been told via email and even on the confirmation call. Either way, we proceeded with the other estimates. There is some bamboo in my backyard, and you would have thought that a vampire had just run into garlic. In all fairness, there would need to be some clearing done of this bamboo as it had started to encroach on the fence line. All other companies had no issue with it though and included it in their estimates. At the end, he took his measurements, didn't really go over any options, and told me that he'd email me with the estimate. Again, no other company did this. It really felt like he didn't want my business. When the estimate did come, it was for $6850 for PVC--almost $1200 more than all other providers. As you can imagine, I went with another company.
