Mossy Oak Fence is a full service fence installation company located in Orlando, Florida. Mossy Oak Fence can trace its roots back to 1992, when it started as a residential fence installation company in the Metro Atlanta market. After 12 strong years of success building custom wood fences and decorative aluminum fences, the owners of Mossy Oak Fence saw an opportunity to fill a void in the Orlando and Central Florida fence markets. So in 2004 Mossy Oak Fence began bringing the same level of professionalism to Central Florida that brought them many awards for excellence in Atlanta. 10 employees. Occasionally uses subs for commercial projects. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. No service charges. May contact through email or phone. Financing available on all of our fence products including all type of wood fences, vinyl fencing, aluminum fencing, steel fences, and wire fencing in Orlando and Central Florida.
This company put up my backyard vinyl fence, they were quick but cut my internet cable and caused $300 in damage to my sprinklers. I called and all they would say is that neither of these were marked out the internet I can understand but maybe the sprinkler heads in the grass should have been a clue? Then I guess they ran out of material when they were finishing up and tried to stretch what they had and left a 2 inch gap between the wall and the post (that should be against the wall) on my "privacy" fence and the post is quite wobbly, not sure if cement was added to secure it. They contacted me, they were very interested in getting paid and when I mentioned my concerns they said send us pictures and I will forward them to our customer service department. That was May 10th as of May 26 I have heard nothing from them. If you are going to use them, do not pay until you are happy with the product, as soon as they get your money they don't care.

Mossy oak charged me $8100 for a horizontal fence which, although it does look nice in general, it feels extremely cheap and weak. The cedar boards they use are thin and soft so they bend if you just lean on them, and you can just push the pickets in with your hand. Mossy oak does not reinforce the horizontal sections with a middle rail between the posts, a standard practice with the vertical fences which are less expensive than the horizontal fence. When I told them this, they said that's the way they do it and they would not fix anything. On top of that many pickets were already warped and bowed when installed so if you look at the fence from the side you can see the boards are not even. They don't align to form a flush surface. Furthermore, you have to weatherproof the fence yourself and because the wood they use for the pickets is so crappy and super rough, it soaks up a ton of stain. Be prepared to spend another $500 just on stain and the work to do it yourself or have to hire someone else.

I had Mossy Oak install 235 ft of black chain link with winged slats. We also had them remove our old wood privacy fence. We talked with Cassidy who quickly had us set up with an appointment with the salesman Chris Lynch. Chris was very helpful and patient with any and all questions/concerns. He took his time explaining everything. He answered the phone when I needed him and called back asap when he wasn’t able to answer. Cassidy was friendly and kept us updated through the whole process. She was super helpful! The installers Joel and Fernando were quick, open and friendly. They even worked through the rain to make sure it was done on time. They were open to any changes and made sure to contact the office with any concerns. They double checked everything with us before they needed to change anything. They cleaned up any mess they made. The fence looks amazing too. Very well made. We are so happy with our fence and will definitely recommend them to anyone. 10/10!

First of all, I want to say that Mossy Oak Fence was not the lowest quote that we received from fence companies. The reason for choosing Mossy was because of the lifetime labor warranty that Randy Taylor said they offered. I thought that was a good point in deciding to go with them. That and not price was important to me. It's probably not worth the paper it's written on now. Anyway, we were replacing a fence due to damaged caused by a fallen tree and hurricane Ian. Trying to get pricing on the damaged areas was like pulling teeth, as they say. Attempt after attempt first with salesman Randy Taylor which I do not recommend and Rob the owner, they could not give me a simple cost basis on the panels, post and gate so I could submit the cost to the insurance for my claim. Other companies that I was dealing with provided PROFESSIONAL COMPANY FORMS with pricing but of coarse Mossy can't because they only do installations according to Rob Protasowicki, owner. How can you be in business for 25 years and not be able to provide info for such a simple request? Don't you know the cost of the materials that you are providing for the job? And this can't be a new thing, to request a price breakdown for insurance purposes. I don't understand why that is such a cahllenge? They couldn't and haven't. The other complaint with this company is the salesman Randy Taylor came out and drew up plans for the new fence. He spoke with my wife about what we wanted and twice she told him that we wanted the same setup around our trash cans as we had before. Which was a hideaway area so you could not see them from the street. What does he do, he draws it up the way he told it to my wife that she corrected him twice on and not the way we wanted it. The other section of fence had an 8 ft drive in gate. Meaning 2 4 ft gates side by side that swung out to allow for wide trailers to drive through. Randy changed it to a 5 ft gate. Why would anyone take it upon themselves to change up something in place already. The other fence companies understood what we wanted why would Randy change it up. The survey that we provided showed the trash can area clearly and the gate was in place at the time of his quote. No one told him to change anything just replace what is currently there. Randy apparently had his on agenda and worked it the way he imagined it. That's why I would not recommend him at all. He doesn't listen to the customer. The biggest problem here is Mossy wanted to charge me for the changes which in my opinion is clearly their mistake. They should fix any and all modifications that they made without our complete authorization. The installers did modify the area around the trash can part but could not do anything about the gate. Rob said he could change it but wanted an additional $800. How absurd is that! You screw up and you want me to pay for it. Give me a break! I would go with another fence company if I had to do it over again. It's not worth the aggravation to use them. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the installers, Tanny and crew, did a great job. Kudos to them.

Terrible experience from start to finish. Signed my contract in January and fence didn’t get put up until June. First permit got denied and no one even let me know. Then they blatantly told me that they forgot to resubmit the permit… more time wasted. Permit finally got approved and they still never told me. I found out all of this because I kept going to the city myself. In my opinion I would absolutely NOT recommend. The customer service and communication was awful. Oh and let me not forget that they made me draw the fence on the survey for the HOA myself. Literally used my Apple device to draw dimensions and fence. Ridiculous. Please don’t waste your time. Edit: company is so unprofessional that their response was “ Interesting as we don't even recognize you as a customer... “ I wrote back with receipts, texts and email proof and they blocked me… gotta love it !! If you weren’t convinced before I hope you are now !

I may change my review once the work is actually done. It has been 2 months since I paid a 50% deposit on 100' of fence replacement. They finally called and scheduled for 5/6. I made arrangements to take a day off from work, adjusting my schedule and appointments so I could be here during the install. At the hour they were supposed to show up, I get a call from them saying most of their installation crews have called off and they wanted to reschedule. So I rescheduled for today (5/13), again moving appointments and my work schedule to be off. And of course at 0830, I get a call saying there is a problem with the installation team and will probably not make it today. And if not, they say definitely tomorrow guaranteed. I am out of town tomorrow. I do have cameras surrounding my property as well as many 'before/existing' photos of my property in the event something were to happen or get damaged while I am not here. At $42/ft, I did not expect this kind of poor performance and scheduling. I have retained counsel to determine if they cannot meet their schedule to see if I will be eligible for a full refund.

Within two weeks of installation, about half of our posts began to crack. I contacted Mossy Oak Fence to inquire as to what they could do to rectify this situation. The attached photo clearly shows deep and serious cracking of the wood. The response I received was that this is a perfectly normal development, due to the expansion and contraction of the wood. I’ve had similar wood fences for 30 years and never experienced this problem. I suspect it has more to do with excess stress applied to the posts during construction. It’s simply very difficult to believe that half of the posts of all of their customers experience that type of deterioration after less than two weeks out in the weather – if indeed this is perfectly normal. The issues with Mossy began very early on. We were informed that they were very busy and scheduling installs about 18 weeks out. After about 3 months without any follow-up from them I reached out by email asking when they would be able to schedule our installation – no response. Same result for a second email to a different person. I repeatedly tried calling the office, but no one ever picked up. Some calls were transferred, then disconnected. The couple of voice mail messages I was able to leave were never responded to. I finally sent a Fax – which they did respond to. So the bottom line is that their customer communication is awful to non-existent. I would hesitate to recommend them to anyone, for anything.

Mossy Oaks installed a wood privacy fence for my mother in May of 2014. The fence was great until a few months ago when some of the boards became loose and the gate was sagging and hard to operate. I called Mossy Oaks and even though this wasn't covered under their warrenty they sent a man out and repaired all the problems at no cost. I couldn't believe it. What a GREAT COMPANY!! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality fence by a quality company. Thank you so much!

Mossy Oak installed 300+ feet of 6 foot chain link fence (and 2 gates) in 2015 for a cost of $3732. The fence is of excellent quality and the job was done well. A tree fell through my fence during Hurricane Irma (09/17), so I contacted the company for a repair estimate. They asked me to email pictures of the damage and they would email me a quote (no visit to visually inspect damage). I complied. I was quoted $1050 to repair the 50 feet of damage. I felt this was a bit much for the repair, so I contacted another Angie's List A-rated service provider. They will be replacing the damage at a cost of $783.75.

We had a gate repaired that was torn off the hinges in Hurricane Irma. It was a custom gate that was not originally installed by Mossy Oak, but the assured us they could repair it. They required the money upfront in full, which we paid on 12/8/17. They were supposed to repair our gate on 1/2/18, but ended up picking up the gate instead. Weeks went by without a word. There was one excuse after another as to why our gate was not ready, and we did not get a temporary gate until March. After several phone calls (from us to them), we finally had our gate installed on 4/4/18. The people are friendly and the work was good, but they had no clue what was going on. Even the guys who installed our final gate (who were professional and friendly) had no idea about the other part of our fence that were supposed to be repaired. There is a serious lack of communication from whomever is in charge at this company. I understand that things come up that cause delays, but there was ZERO communication initiated from Mossy Oak. We had to call them every so often for updates. The work was fine, but I would not hire this company again due to the time it took to repair (over 4 months) and due to headache they caused me in trying to get it fixed.

Last year after Hurricane Irma, my wooden fence was knocked down by the wind. I tried calling another fence company several times, but all I got was their voicemail. During this time of frustration I heard a commercial on the radio for Mossy Oak. I called them and a salesman, Lenin, came and sold me a fence. I was in a rush to get a fence back up, so I was just happy to finally be making some progress. Little did I know that I was going to receive terrible customer service and the job was going to take almost 3 months from start to finish. My first installation appointment was on January 3rd. I took the day off from work and wasted a valuable vacation day, only to have them call me like 2 business days ahead and say that they didn't have all the parts in. So, they rescheduled to January 11th. I took yet another day off from work. The crew finally showed up and installed everything but the gates. They said they couldn't complete the job, because they didn't have the hardware to hang the gates. They had assembled one gate before they realized that they had the wrong size hinges. They said they would be back on Saturday the 13th to finish the job. No one called, emailed or showed up. That day I tried turning my sprinkler system on and it didn't function at all. It took two days and $200 for an irrigation company to replace the cut wiring and broken pipes caused by the careless Mossy Oak workers. When I called to tell them about this, they told me that there was no way for them to know where the pipes and wires were underground. I didn't expect a refund, but an apology would have been nice. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that my wife and I were treated horribly. For instance: they lied to my wife by telling her that they needed a router to dig the holes for the gate posts, which had already been dug. Mark Spencer even had the nerve to ask my wife where the second gate was, like we were hiding it somewhere(It hadn't been built yet!). We called and emailed numerous times to ask when they were going to finish their service only to be ignored or told stories to delay/buy more time. Pretty sad for a company that calls themselves the best. I believe that we deserve a discount for the stress, time wasted, and the outrageous treatment. If I could give worse than an F for a rating, I would do so!

The Salesman, Lenin, came 3 hours late for his estimate appointment. Once he got here he was good with the design and the quality of the sample of the fence was impressive. He claimed they couldn't get cypress, so they were using cedar instead for the same price. I didn't even get another estimate after seeing the quality of the product. I wish I had in hindsight because I might have been able to save some $$. Due to the high number of fences that needed replaced in Central Florida because of the hurricane, they were very busy and it took 2 months to get the install done. The install crew were hispanic, and although one spoke English, it wasn't perfect so there was a language barrier. I don't know what their legal work status was. The crew was very focused on detail, making sure everything was level and straight. They constructed the fence (built on site) to my specifications. They were obviously very experienced and efficient. However, they didn't construct the fence to the original plan drawn up by Lenin, which followed the previous fence and as a result I lost about 118 sq. ft. of yard to my neighbor due to a 2 ft. stepback that was eliminated by the crew. I don't know if that is because of the language barrier (I told them I wanted the top straight. Did they think I meant the fence line?) or if they had to build it that way because of where they found property markers, or if they just screwed up. I wasn't happy with the way they finished the dirt along the fence line, using their boots to kick dirt up out of the yard around the base of the fence (they should have had garden rakes to distribute and level it out). There is dirt mounded up around the fence bottom going a few inches up the fence. The fence for the price noted is 161 linear feet and has 3 gates (3ft, 4ft. and 5ft. wide). It is built with galvanized metal posts all of which are concreted in, pressure treated 2"x4"s supports (3 across), and the 5/8" x 6" cedar pickets, board on board. The fence is beautiful and although my yard is smaller now, I am very happy with the fence appearance and quality. I have attached a picture, and please note I took the picture before they were done/piled the dirt up along the bottom of the fence. Also, they normally wouldn't have the upper support at the very top of the pickets, that was my request.

The installation of the gates was delayed a few days as the initial frames were cut larger than the 5foot gates and needed to be redone. On January 12th upon returning from a trip one gate would not open or close without enough force to further damage the gate. I called Mossy Oak and was asked to send pictures of the gate which I took and emailed that day. I was advised that I would hear from them within 2 weeks to schedule repair of the gate. As I had not heard by January 24, 2018 to see what the status was as my gate will not open without fear of additional damage. I was again told that I would be contacted within two weeks again with a day and time that the repair would be completed. I would have expected a responsible company would return my call and would have repaired my gates by this time.

I attempted to contact this company for an estimate in March because they installed a beautiful fence in the neighborhood. It took a week before I was contacted by email instead of a phone call. I do agency work, so my schedule is pretty open until I book a shift. I explained this in an email. My shifts are usually booked a few days to a week ahead, meaning I can schedule days off from a week or more out. I thought that would make it easy; to schedule in the future. The emails went back and forth for a few weeks, I gave specific dates I was not available, and received requests to schedule on those day, ultimately, I never got an appointment.

The installation completed by Mossy Oak Fence was top-notch. The crew arrived right on time the morning of the installation, walk us through the work to be completed to confirm what was included in the quote and made a few onsite alterations that improved access to an awkward area of our yard. My only complaint would be that the back office could have been more responsive, we had to follow up several time with the scheduling team after all of the permitting and HOA approvals were received. A totally minor complaint, the quality of the end product exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this company.

The fence install was estimated to take one day, but took almost a month to complete, requiring me to stay home from work for over a week and a half. A permitting issue arose during install that should have been addressed prior to installation. After additional issues occurred, I requested to speak with the owner multiple times and never received a call back . Mossy Oak Fence was unreliable, lacked communication and were extremely unorganized throughout the process.

Salesman (Clark) was excellent. Crew turned up on time. Went downhill from there. Cut telephone cables and sprinkler lines they were warned about and shown. Fence not stretched (pulled tight), not properly fastened to posts, chain closures on gates just BARELY long enough, loose wire left for my horse to tangle and be injured in. Salesman himself removed loose wire and promised to follow up with crew about other issues. Fence is sagging everywhere, self-detached from posts in places. Complained with no response, finally posted on Facebook which elicited a response and a visit from Ryan: 3 full months later, not one word from company. I'm disgusted! A lot of money for bad work and NO customer service at all.

Needless to say, I shopped this job for quite a while. I was disappointed with the number of fence companies who wouldn’t take the work at all, as well as with the number of custom-fence builders who tried to tell me how they were going to build it, instead of listening to me tell them how I wanted it built. I chose Mossy Oak because they were willing to build a fence the way I wanted it. More importantly, they were eager to take the job because as Shane put it, the job would “challenge their skills” and allow them to “show what kind of work they can do”. From the very first interaction with Mossy Oak, things went well. Shane arrived punctually for the estimate and was both knowledgeable and informative. He took his time to understand what I wanted done, and then carefully measured the area and took photos. A quote arrived one day later. I paid a 50% deposit and then a few weeks later, I got a Friday-afternoon call saying they’d like to do the job on Monday. The crew showed up on time, and got to work right away getting the old fence down. The new fence went up at a slower pace, but the precision with which they worked was impressive. Each post is perfectly true and precisely lined up with the others. The pickets are carefully measured to be of even height across the top. It seemed to be the industry norm that the crews would eyeball the spacing between the pickets, but when I questioned them about it, they stopped eyeballing and started to measure the spacing between pickets thereafter. Mossy Oak cuts dados into each of its posts at the top, which is a very nice touch, and saves the expense of buying and installing post-caps. I found the crews to be easy to communicate with, very hard-working, and accommodating. They take great pride in their workmanship, and the couple of errors I discovered as they were building the fence were very quickly corrected. They seemed genuinely disappointed in themselves that they had made a mistake, which reassured me about their sense of pride in their work and the finished product I was going to receive. They weren’t able to complete the job in a single day, so they returned the next day on time, as promised, and began right away to finish up. I wasn’t able to stay at home this day, but by lunchtime, they were calling me with a heads-up that they’d be done in 30 minutes. Another person was with them when I got home (a supervisor maybe??) and we all walked the job to look it over. One more mistake was found, and again, the crew was embarrassed and quickly fixed it. I am very pleased with the job, and after a few weeks, I have not noticed anything of concern, like leaning posts, or warped pickets. We’ve had a couple good windstorms and downpours, and the fence is solid. The things that I’d offer as suggestions for improvement are minor: (1) Communicate more regularly while customers are in between payment and scheduling. Perhaps as weekly email or text message would save time over phone calls, and still let the customer know you’re working on their project. (2) Have the crew go over the job in detail prior to getting started. Special concerns that are voiced to the estimator do not always make their way to the construction crew. The things that I thought were really noteworthy were: (1) Mossy Oak will do the job the way you want it done. Where other custom-fence builders said no, Mossy Oak made it happen! (2) The crews display an enviable work ethic. They work hard all day, and stop very infrequently for breaks. I noticed that they never took breaks simultaneously – someone was always working. (3) The quality of workmanship is impressive. The crews understand carpentry, take care to make everything straight and true, and they can make mitered cuts as easily as straight ones. (4) Their impact is minimal. They were very careful with the landscaping and irrigation, and they cleaned their mess (including sawdust!) after each day. They take great pride in what they do and it shows. Mossy Oak is not the cheapest company in town, by any stretch, but you get what you pay for. The products they use are of good quality, and their workmanship is unrivaled. I would refer them without hesitation – you’ll be glad you chose them.
Description of Work: Removed 120’ of wooden 6’ shadowbox. Installed 120’ of new wood fence using 6x6 posts with rails toenailed in. Installed the new fence while climbing a 1/12 grade, and then up-and-over a 4’ retaining wall. Installed the pickets in a tight weave with 2” spacing, and expose the posts between each section, so there is no ‘ugly’ side of the fence. Made the fence on the east side of the property 6’ tall, and the fence on the west side of the property 8’ tall. Built transitions throughout so there is no stair-stepping.

Mossy Oak did a fantastic job! They were prompt and professional. It seemed like a lot of work for one day but they got the old fence removed very quickly and new one installed without a hitch. We like to wait to rate companies just to make sure everything works as advertised. It's been several months now and we love our new fence. So much we have strongly recommended them to our parents and we are having them install an additional section out front. They were not the most inexpensive company that gave us estimates but I can't imagine anyone doing it better. You can't go wrong. We are using them again.
Description of Work: Removed old wood fence, installed two different types of fence, half was 8' plastic privacy, half was 4' aluminum. Also installed a total for three gates.

Jeff Spears was the saleperson who came out and was a complete professional, providing a layout of the installation with all details spelled out. Three other vendors were contacted; one declined to come out because they don't work outside of 8 to 5, Monday through Friday, one provided an estimate 2.5 weeks later, and the other just scribbled a price on his business card. The others were also rude and condescending and criticized a previous install. Since the fence was extra tall it had to go through the HOA but Mossy Oak was patient waiting for the approval. Once it came, the 2-man crew was very professional, removed all the old fencing and did a great job on the install. New fence looks great and we are very happy.
Description of Work: Mossy Oak removed wooden fencing in 2 areas of my property and installed 7'6" tall PVC fencing. 73' total with 2 gates.
