Their guy came out and I just wanted him to check everything and clean everything like they usually do. After he opened the unit inside, he showed me the beginning of mold growth and so I asked him about cleaning it and he told me that it shouldn't be disturbed because it would only make things worse. This threw up a red flag for me because all of the previous technicians in the past always cleaned the unit and sprayed some kind of solution with what smells like Simple Green on it. This is something I always noticed after they finished and left because it was something that I would smell in the house when the air conditioning system comes on. He then began trying to sell me a UV system for $1520 and I said I wasn't interested at the time in purchasing it. Next he went to the outside unit and indicated that I was low on freon/coolant and said that I might want to have them add more to it and also gave me, what I call scare tactics, about how the motor could freeze up and the replacement costs were going to be really high, but I told him that I would pass for now. I decided to go ahead and go back into the house and wait for him to finish. Sitting in my office by the air conditioning unit outside, I never heard or saw the technician turn on the hose like they usually do to clean the outside unit, but I didn't say anything because I wasn't sure what they normal routine was for sure. After his continued sales pitches on everything, I decided to get the pan treatment, which was $67, too much when you can buy tablets at Home Depot for a few bucks to put into the pan yourself. Here comes the kicker, 10 days later, my air conditioning system stops coming on so I called One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating and they eventually send someone out and the first thing he does is finds out that the pipe going outside the house is clogged, remember that their technician was just out at my place 10 days previously. I asked him what their normal routine was for the semi-annual maintenance and so I come to find out that the guy didn't clean the inside unit or the outside unit and didn't clean or clear the drain lines. Basically, the guy came out and didn't do anything really other than try to sell me additional products and services but didn't perform the maintenance that was signed up and paying for. I contacted another air conditioning company to come out and they installed a UV light for a lot less than what One Hour wanted he even checked the freon/coolant level and said it was fine. After this last visit, I will not be doing business with One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating again and have already told one of my neighbors who was asking about who to use to not use them and suggested someone else. If you use their service, be careful you don't get took like I did.

I had a maintenance call scheduled the day after we moved in. On move in date we arrive to a hot home. One hour air sent out someone immediately!!! We knew our previous unit was at the end of the useful life and after looking at the system, the technician educated us and gave us all the options to either repair or replace. We decided to replace and the technician again educated us on all the options and recommended the best option for our home, not the most expensive. The day of installation the installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves, wore boot coverings. The owner also came out to make sure everything was going okay. They also filed the ppwk to get a rebate from Duke energy. After a couple of weeks with the new AC they also came back out to balance the rooms out.

When our technician visited your home in April, he located a leak in your condensing coil. Based on the age of your system, cost of repairing it correctly and since there isn't any warranty on the equipment he suggested that you at least know what your replacement options are. No one needs a new system...all problems can be fixed but fixing them correctly can be expensive. You had another contractor come out a dump Freon in the system which is a band aid temporary fix to the bigger problem. I am sorry that you felt our company deserved an "F" for recommending that you consider replacing your system. Our technician, Aaron, is experienced, honest and deserves much better than the grade you have provided him and my company. If you feel that we have not done the right job by our diagnosis, then I will gladly refund you the $69 that you spent to have Aaron identify your leaky coil. The only issue I had was the problem was not found the first night they came out, but it was dark and rainy so I don't hold it against them. It was originally thought to just be an issue with the thermostat, but when the same not cooling problem popped up the next day Steve came back out and found the actual issue. Leaking coils. The next day they had the new unit installed and so far so good. Everyone we dealt with was wonderful! Kim was great to deal with on the phone. Steve never rushed us, or pushed us to buy anything. This company's techs are not commission based, and that makes a huge difference. We were given some different options and that was it. No pressure. I can't recall the names of the other two men who did the install, but they too were great. I will recommend One Hour Air to everyone who needs any a/c work. One more thing, they are 24 hours and DO NOT charge extra for after hours visits. I've never seen a company that does this. I'm definitely a customer for life.

Took advantage of One Hour's $49 77 point inspection on Angie's List and was reached out by Kim via email right way. She was very responsive, professional and accomodating. My schedule is a bit hectic and they were very busy so I had to wait a couple weeks for the actual appointment but I understood. On the day of the appointment Luke arrived on time, introduced himself and was very polite. He invited me to join him during the work and was very informative. He was very informative explaining the system and what symptoms to look for. My A/C unit is very old and expected him to start positioning sales pitches but he wasn't pushy. He helped me understand what I was dealing with and recommended a return visit so he could explain different options. Overall I was very pleased with the service and would recommend them.

Luke and the install crew (wish we remembered their names) were great! They were professional, friendly and polite. They did not rush the job and were at our home all day until very late afternoon installing the new a/c unit. Luke bent over backwards getting us the best deal possible and went above and beyond what we expected. They were prompt in coming to our home when our a/c stopped working. They were also prompt on the day of installation. They all explained everything they were doing and why. When they were unpacking the compressor, they immediately boxed it back up and sent it back for a new unit because it was dented. Luke even stopped by to check on everything as the install was winding down. They even cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with One Hour Air from the office staff to the guys in the field; we would definitely recommend them to our family and friends!

This was an excellent experience! Kim (on the phone) and Luke (our tech) were both perfectly professional and entirely helpful. They spend a lot of time trying to put you at ease so, if you're like me & used to disappointing service (seems like some businesses don't want your money even if you're throwing it at them), you will need a little patience for this part. But these guys rock! They're 1st class with courtesy, the little shoe covers (which are entirely unnecessary in my house), and expertise. All this, a fair price, and crazy fast - I couldn't ask for anything better!
Description of Work: Luke was at our house within about an hour of my call. He patched up our ancient system ( loose wire in the compressor) respectful of the fact that we are not ready to invest in a new one yet. After he got us cool again he went over the whole thing and talked about options for our future unit.

When our air broke on a Sunday night One Hour AC & Heating was at our door within a few short hours. Steve was very professional and sat down at our kitchen table with us and explained everything in detail and our options. There was never any pressure to make a decision, but my husband and I decided to replace our AC unit since we had been having AC issues for the last several years. On Monday morning Steve and Aaron showed up at our door and worked very hard all day long to install our new unit. This is the first time working with One hour AC and we were very impressed. I really felt like they took pride in their work and respect those that they work for. I Highly recommend One Hour AC & Heating to anyone!!!

I contacted the office yesterday and scheduled the appointment for today. Excellent customer service. The technician Luke arrived between the times specified (12-4pm) and I received a phone call when he was getting close. I was at work (3:30pm) and he explained everything to my husband,. He was here for three hours, inpected and cleaned both systems and made suggestions as to recommended service. This was expected as the units are from 2005 and i'm sure the previous homeowners never maintained them. He said one was filthy and cleaned it up at no extra charge. He told me everything when I got home @6pm. Luke was very professional and clean. I received "System Efficiency Reports" for both systems. He even wore disposable booties when walking on my carpeting to keep it clean. No pressure, just good work.

This is the worst experience I have had with a service company. The salesman did a great job selling us a premium A/C unit for $8,500, but unfortunately, the service has been terrible. The unit was put it on November 21, 2012, and 5 months later we are still dealing with problems from the initial installation. The city inspector has refused to approve the installation 3 times!! The first time the inspector found that parts of the new unit (placed in the attic) were still wrapped in plastic and were a serious fire hazard. In addition, wires were put in incorrectly, in some cases the wrong wiring was used. I am thankful that the city is checking up on the work, but save yourself a lot of money and time and use a different company!

Over the past Five years we have purchased two high-end high-efficiency air conditioners from One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating, and we pay $575.00 per year for annual service. Yet the "annual service" does not include filter changes, pan changes or cleaning, or much of anything else. SO.......they are good if you do not care about money and fair value. But they did not complete the promises made on our proposal for the last machine (negotiated price of $14,000) installed two years ago (they promised to install a UV Filter on the 5 year old machine and failed to do this).
Description of Work: Today we had our annual service maintenance visit which was included in our annual maintenance contract which costs us $575.00 per year. But the fee does not include filters, filter changes, pan cleaning, and we ended up spending an additional $580.00 on top of the service fee, and when attempting to "renew" our maintenance program for another $575.00 the maintenance man kept pushing the "TRI PROGRAM, and tried to add hundreds more dollars for their Ben Franklin Plumbing and Sparky Electrical. PLUS.....we purchased both of our high-end high efficiency machines from One Hour Air!!!! SO....both are .new machines that costs $14,000 each and an annual maintenance contract for $575.00 and it does not include filters. They want $150.00 for filters that my husband went and bought at Home Depot for $3.00. THIS CAUSES S A LOSS OF CONFIDENCE. Also, push push push push pushing your complicated "MEMBERSHIP Programs" is just really bothersome.

When I first called One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating Ed answered the phone. He was so nice and helpful. He answered all of my questions and assured me that they would honor the $49 special. He gave me a window of time and told me that if his tech did not arrive within that time my service would be free. He even called me to give me a 30 minuted heads up so I would be ready when the tech arrived. My technician was Luke and he was awesome! Being a new homeowner I had a LOT of questions. He was very patient and answered all of them and not once did I feel rushed or like I was bothering him. He even offered to let me follow him while he did his work. He was VERY thorough. I don't know how they can make money with the $49 special because he worked very hard. He cleaned my AC and inspected it inside and out. For the amount of work he did I would expect it to cost a couple hundred dollars at least. He even wore shoe covers in the house!! After Luke left. Kim called me and asked me about the service. Once again, very friendly and genuinely wanted to ensure I was a happy customer. I will use them again for sure! They were a joy to work with!

We had just moved into the home and I wanted to get an idea on how our ac was working and get it cleaned. The service took about 45-60 minutes and when the tech (Jeff) was done we sat down to discuss what was found. One of the things I was most worried about was the drain lines. My experience at another house taught me that a clogged drain could shut everything down and make life miserable. Jeff explained that the unit was working well and I asked if he could show me how to use my new thermostat and he did. Jeff recommended I add a UV light with additional Ozone and a electronic air filter. He explained that they would improve our air quality and help take the pet and food smells out of the house. He was right! The air in our house is fresh and if something burns in our kitchen (thanks to a 15yr old cooking popcorn) we can kick the unit on and in a few minutes the house would be fresh again.

Friendly technician showed on time for my appointment. He checked the system for leaks as the A/C was not cooling past 77 degrees. The coils clogged. He cleaned the coils both inside and outside the house. He charged the freon. Everything works great.

Excellent customer service over the phone in setting up the appointment from the start. I was given an appointment for the next day and Aaron showed up and told me everything from his work experience and the company to all that he was going to do in detail. I followed him to the units to be serviced and as he worked he explained exactly what he was doing as well as how this part and that affects the overall operation of the Heating and A/C performance. He also told me of what to look for myself in order to avoid a major cost to myself in the future. Very thorough job on both sets of evaporator coils, air handlers and condenser units. He found a leak in the downstairs evaporator coil and showed it to me. Wrote out findings in detail as well as prices for joining the Comfort Club and prices w/o membership. They followed up with a survey card to see how the experience went. The only possible glitch is that I had to leave to go to work and my cousin was home. According to her, while Aaron was downstairs writing out the bill and other things, he had asked to use the bathroom and she said, "Yes." She then told him to go and use the downstairs bathroom, which is located 3 feet from where he was sitting in the kitchen. But Aaron said that he would use the one on the second (main) floor (the one used by the rest of the family). He proceeded to go upstairs and use the bathroom. The reasoning was that he was going to check the thermostat on the main floor anyway. There's a reason why there is a powder on the first floor. That irked me when I found that out. Thats the only reason for the "B" rating. Wanted to give an "A" but that just rubbed me the wrong way when I found that out later on.

09/14/2009 ? Invoice 109214 - Was charged a $69 service fee to have warranty work performed on blower. After showing Greg the original sales quotes, in writing, from the A\C sales rep stating 5 year warranty included ALL parts and labor, he explained, after talking to supervisor, that the sales rep should not have stated that in writing and I still had to be charged $69. 10/21/2009 ? Invoice 251944. Greg States that Blower Capacitor UF value is 20/18.6. The unit was still under the manufacturer 5 year warranty at time and the blower assembly was recently replaced which also came with a 1 year warranty. This is important because Invoice 12868 asked me to spend $349 for a new Blower Capacitor. 7/10/2010 : Invoice 12868. Julio explained to me that I NEED to replace the blower wheel capacitor $349. His reading was 20/18.8 I asked if it was under warranty when it was replaced with the new blower wheel assembly 10 months before that. Was told it was not under warranty because the 5 year warranty had expired . I also asked him why it wasn?t replaced when Greg had a similar reading and he stated there is nothing he could do about it. 7/10/2010 : Invoice 12868. Julio explained to me that I NEED to replace the coils because of corrosion due to adding bleach into Drain. This was a very expensive request. After showing him Invoice 87850 ( 10/05/06 ) instructing me to ADD bleach once a month, he immediately told me he made a mistake and the coils were fine and not to worry about it. Are my coils fine? Please feel free to review the invoice 87850. 7/10/2010 : Invoice 12868 Technician arrived 30 minutes after the 4 hour time window assigned. Not a single phone call was made telling me when he would arrive, let alone arrive late. Technician still Attempted to charge me for the service call. I ask for the company to honor its ?Arrive on time or free guarantee?. I would have not asked for the free service if I had been notified of the tardiness in advance through a simple phone call. 6/1/2010 : Invoice: 115991. Needed to have compressor capacitor replaced. Original Sales rep assured me that the entire outside unit was covered for 10 years. The 10 year warranty is the reason I chose Scott?s. Was told today that only the compressor and not the compressor capacitor was covered. GE states that the capacitor should be good for 60,000 hours. This was not reached. After discovering that the charge would be $397 to have $20 part replaced I called the office to verify this was correct. A lovely lady asked me to call her back if the technician could not answer my question. I called back and the gentleman that answered the phone would not transfer me to the original lady I was speaking with. I explained that she asked me to call back. He would only keep stating that the price of the part was listed on the invoice. I still do not see Compressor Capacitor listed on the invoice under the service description section. I wish he would have let me talk to the rep that asked me to call her back with any questions. Why would he not transfer me? He did state that a manager would call me back shortly and I have not received any phone calls.

The technician came within the time frame given. He was pleasant, but VERY pushy and tried to upsell me to a whole new A/C system that would cost me thousands and thousands of dollars. He tried to scare me into it by telling me that patching up my old system might be dangerous. After he spoke with my son and found out I had no money and the house was in foreclosure, he decided that a repair would be fine, but he couldn't guarantee how long it would last. I appreciated him coming out after hours, making the repair, but did not appreciate the hard sell for a new system. I felt like he was trying to take advantage of a senior citizen.

Description of Work: Just wanted to share an extremely poor experience - called in for an appointment for a clogged sink after seeing the commercial for a drain special - any drain any time $76.00....appointment was booked today for someone to come out between noon and 16:00 - call was @ 12:47 and person was in AZ - pricing discussed and confirmed - when no on showed up by 16:00, I called back in and spoke to Junior - he told me (after we sat around all day) the appointment was for tomorrow and would cost extra since the special was only good on Monday through Fridays, I am not sure 8:00 - 5:00 p.m. Please note that NO such restrictions were noted on the commercial and none are listed on the coupon with the exception of there may be a service charge after 17:00. Needless to say, I canceled the appointment and made an appointment with a more honest plumber - and we won't be doing business with this company - period.

They tried to convince me that I needed to replace my entire unit. After having a second opinion, learned that it was just a circuit breaker switch.
Description of Work: My a/c stopped working at around 5pm. When they finally arrived it was around 9pm. After about 15 minutes the man told me that unfortunately I would need a whole new unit. It was going to cost several thousand dollars. The next day my neighbor had her a/c guy come look at it for me for a second opinion. As it turned out all I needed was a new switch for my circuit breaker. It cost me a little over $100. I called One Hour Air and told them what happened. They were going to sell me a whole new unit when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the unit I already have. I don't trust them and would never recommend them or use them again.

I contacted One Hour Air for an estimate on a repair on my existing unit. They were very responsive, punctual and very professional and I am very satisfied with the service they provided. Their customer service was wonderful.
