One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating are committed to providing you a broad range of services from routine air conditioner maintenance and repair as well as air conditioner replacement & installation.
I've had a subscription service with this company for nearly about a year. The service has been very inconsistent and some of the technicians try to sell me equipment and other unnecessary items. This last service call I had to pay 60 dollars rather than the 45 that the associate mentioned on the phone for an emergency call and the technician didn't apply any corrective measurements. Another company came today and serviced my air conditioner free of charge. Ending my subscription Monday morning. All engagement with technicians and on phone calls has always been professional aside from the lack of quality in the actual service.

I signed up for their maintenance program, which was my mistake, as all it is a opportunity for them to subject you to up selling tactics. Basically, I had them out to my property to do maintenance which I had already paid for. Note, that the unit was working fine before their tech touched it. First, though the maintenance should have been paid for already, I was up sold more products and services for an additional charge. Worse still, after the tech left, my unit which had been working fine, immediately began to malfunction. My sump pump would not turn off and it threatened to burn out. In the end what was their proposed solution, well it was to propose I pay them nearly $900.00, to fix a problem that didn’t exist until they touched my unit. Worse still, I’ve made multiple, explicit requests to speak with somebody from management, they’ve refused this. First I got a call from somebody while I was working, from a number I couldn’t call back. The person claimed they couldn’t leave a message (though strangely, everybody else is able to) but they did text me, the text proved that they actually weren’t updated on what was going on. I texted them back and asked to speak with somebody, I was ignored. I texted them again, I got a late response from another person, they said they didn’t know what was going but would call me, a week passed without a call. So, to conclude, If I could give them zero stars or even negative stars I would. My unit was fine before they touched it, afterward it malfunctioned, they “helpfully” offered to fix it for $900.00. I’ve been treated abominably, it’s been weeks without them being able to put me in contact with somebody from management.

This letter from my attorney provides a brief summary of my issues. Re: DEMAND FOR REIMBURSEMENT with respect to defective HVAC repair at XXX, New Port Richey, FL 34654. Gentlemen: We are counsel to Andrew R. Mr. R is a former customer of Scott's One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating who paid $3,200.00 for HVAC service to remedy a cooling problem at his residence. As Mr. R explained in detail via his October 4, 2021 and November 2, 2021 letters to your office, the service performed by your technicians was not completed in a workmanlike manner. Indeed, the work performed on each visit (June 5, 2021, June 7, 2021, and August 20, 2021) was not completed free from defects in materials and workmanship. It is astonishing that your employees installed a new evaporator coil that immediately leaked and upon subsequent inspection failed to diagnose that the evaporator was leaking! Perhaps the reason for such ineptitude is due to the technicians' failure to be licensed,[1] inexperience and/or lack of training and supervision by Mr. Vigue. (1) A licensee verification search of the official site of The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation ("DBPR") (myfloridalicense.com) reveals that Matt Koskos and LaScott Parker are not licensed air conditioning contractors in the State of Florida. If this matter results in litigation, Mr. R reserves all rights to make inquiries with the Florida DBPR, including whether Mr. Koskos and Mr. Parker can legally perform heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration work in the State of Florida as technician apprentices working under Mr. Vigue, as licensee. I am contacting you with the hope that litigation can be avoided, but that will only occur if you provide a full refund to my client within seven (7) business days. You have a contractual obligation to refund Mr. R for the defective products and workmanship under the "AGREED CONDITIONS" of your contract with Mr. R. It was disturbing to review your narrow-minded November 2, 2021 response to my client's attempt to resolve this matter amicably. Unfortunately, the pattern of poor customer service is consistent with many Better Business Bureau ("BBB") complaints lodged against your company, which suffers from a "D" BBB Rating with 27 complaints in the last 3 years.[2] Our preference is to avoid litigation, but this matter needs to be resolved expeditiously. So please pick up the phone and call me upon receipt of this letter. Consider this correspondence as Mr. R's FINAL demand for a full refund. Absent receipt of a refund in the amount of $3,200.00 by December __, 2021, Mr. R will pursue legal action against Scott's One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating and/or Mr. Vigue as the licensee. Further, my client will pursue all available consumer remedies including filing complaints with the BBB and the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the State of Florida Attorney General for violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. This notice is not intended to contain an exhaustive or complete listing of all defaults which currently exist with respect to the parties' agreement; nor is it intended to provide notice of all grounds on which Scott's One Hour Air or any other person or entity, including its employees, agents, and contractors, has or may have liability to Mr. R pursuant to the terms of any agreement. This notice shall have no effect on, and does not waive, limit, or relinquish, any of the rights or remedies granted to Mr. R, under any contract and applicable law. All such rights and remedies are cumulative and may be pursued separately, successively, or concurrently against Scott's One Hour Air and Mr. Vigue. The demand for refund was denied.

I have never dealt with this level of incompetence! This company has made it clear that they don't care about their customers and I hate that we chose them for our a/c installation. We got the a/c installed and TWO days later, we had no air! Someone came out and added freon as well as dye a day after we requested (aren't you a 24 hour company) since he stated that there was a leak somewhere. Fastforward TWO more days and we're back to no a/c. Now we've been without a/c for almost a week because NO ONE will come out to rectifying problem. They sent someone out on Saturday but we were left with even more questions. 3 problems due to improper installation! Now here it is Monday and "the manager" was set to come out this morning then guess what? All of a sudden, there's an emergency and he can't make it out until tomorrow. So living in hot a** Florida with no a/c but you have a BRAND NEW a/c unti isn't emergency enough for you? Got it! I'm typically calm but this company has angered me beyond words and I'm ready to pursue more drastic actions (legal) with them. Do you and your family a favor and stay as far away from this company as you possibly can. For the reader's sake, I gave the shortened version of our experience with them but there's so much more to tell. Just take my word for it and find a different company!

We’ve used this company 4 times now and every time it gets worse. The first time last Sept, our mini-split unit was leaking. The guy that came out was great. He said it was a clogged drain line. He couldn't believe we'd been in the house for 2 years and not had AC maintenance done, and said that instead of paying $200 for clearing it, we could pay that for the maintenance plan. He cleared the line that night (late at night) and then he came out a week later with a scheduled appt to check the other unit. Said everything looked good, they'd be back in 6 months. He sold us on the company with how great he was. 4 months later our main unit was leaking. The guy tells us the drain pan is full of algae and we should be maintaining it. Tells us that the machine was installed crooked so it's going to leak a lot. Somehow none of this was noticed by the first guy. Now we pay a couple hundred to fix the immediate leak and have a quote for another couple hundred to have the install issue fixed at a later time. This happened in the middle of COVID-19. Their website said that they wear masks so I called. When the man got out he didn't have a mask. I asked nicely at the door, as I have an infant in the house. He sighed and went to his car to get one. He fussed about them and one time mentioned that he should be more worried about us. I advised that we hadn't left our house in over 2 weeks. No shoe covers, wore the same gloves from his truck into our house. Went to our sink to get water to test something and touched anything within reach. It took us forever to wipe everything down after he left. Last night the mini-split started leaking again. We're at 8 months since the maintenance. We didn't call them at the 6 month mark due to COVID. First thing on the phone is that I'm told I'll have to pay $110 for the emergency services fee. Their website specifically says that you don't pay extra for after hours, nor did we the last time that this happened. The tech that came out, William Lind, had to be the most condescending and rude worker I've ever encountered. We had to stop him at the door as well and ask that he wear a mask. He was nice at first, said it was the drain line and it'd be $125 to fix it. I advised that we had the maintenance plan, and it was due for a cleaning, and that I was wondering if they could do it as a part of the maintenance plan like last time. He said that no, they couldn't because everyone would 'take advantage' of that. Mind you we paid for this plan, and paid for this cleaning. I mentioned the inconsistencies of the company with the pricing and rules changing. He jumped on that saying that there are no inconsistencies and started telling me all the times that they'd been out to my house. I told him that their website says they do not charge for after hours, and that we've had them out during the day and after hours emergency and it's always been $69. Now it's $110 for emergencies? I must have told him three times to just go ahead and do the work I wasn't going to keep arguing, but he kept going. I went to show my husband the website with it saying no extra fees, and he got nasty and said that I didn't need to do that 'behind his back' and that I was being rude. We have a 9 month old and William was getting so argumentative that it scared her. Ultimately he said that his manager agreed to do the cleaning as a part of our already paid plan. Then we got the invoice and he made a comment on there that he tried to explain the policies to us, and that we had a problem with paying. He also advised that only some of their techs are 'certified' and that the ones they send out to do the maintenance are the newer or uncertified ones, so therefore they're not as good as he is. Which means that you pay to have someone come make sure your system is good, only to have them be trained. You can't trust them to actually do what you pay them for, and if arguing and yelling at customers is excepted than that is absolutely horrible.

Flavio M from One Hour Air arrived at my home today to perform a six month routine maintenance check. Flavio was very professional and friendly...he identified himself and gave me his business card.. prior entering the home he immediately put shoe covers on as to not dirty the floors (he did this even though I told him it wasn’t necessary). Flavio clearly and effectively explained all the work that he would be doing and took the time to explain the digital thermostat to me and it’s features, something that I was not aware of (he taught me something new today). Flavio did an excellent job at ensuring my a/c system would run problem-free during the summer months and I will definitely be requesting his return for my next visit. I suggest you request Flavio the next time your a/c needs servicing...you’ll be pleased you did. Thank you Flavio and One Hour Air!

The company refused to honor a warranty that they sold us
Description of Work: The company would not honor a 10 year parts and labor warranty I purchased for $700.00. The unit's blower needs to be replaced and the company will not honor the warranty because we did not have them service the unit every 6 months. The warranty does not state that the unit must be serviced by Scott's One Hour Air nor does it state a timeline of service requirements. We called 3 times and the company refused to let us speak with a manger and stood by the decision to not honor the warranty.

Jeffrey M was the consummate professional. I wish all technicians were like him. He was early, prepared, worked efficiently to diagnose the issue, and honestly explained my options for repair. He ended up employing a work around for the broken part, which was not critical to regular AC operation. This avoided me having to purchase a $500+ part on a unit that is 17 years old and I plan on replacing in the next few years anyway. I will definitely be purchasing my new unit from Scott's One Hour and highly recommend joining their maintenance club. They came out the same day I called them for a repair. Excellent customer service!

He was very quick and efficient. My A/C was under warranty but he informed me of a chemical additive that could prevent a further problem over the next 6 months. that was my only cost even on a Sunday.
Description of Work: My drain line was plugged and Dearick N. from 1 Hour Air was professional knowledgeable and very quick. they get high praise for response and quality work.
It was just bad all the way around. We were packing up to leave to go up north. We just wanted them to come to check it to make sure that everything was okey-dokey before we left. It was just a check up call. When they came and said there were problems and we needed a whole new system. Then there was a lot of pressure to do it before we left because if "you wait, then it gets too hot in here and when you come back there will be mold growing up the walls and all kinds of stuff". We did sign an agreement to do this for $6000 and then that night, my husband and I talked about it. We said, "we can't deal with this now. We're just going to wait until we come back". I called them that night, the same day, and told them, "we're cancelling because there was a 3 day rescission". I can't remember the name of the gal, but she gave me a cancellation number and we thought that everything was good. I said, "don't put the charge through". Well, the put the charge through. Then, they wouldn't undo the charge. So, then I had to do a dispute with my credit card company and it just went on and on. Then One Hour kept calling me and telling me they needed my credit card number. That didn't make any since because it seemed to me that they already had that credit card number. But, they said they needed it to reverse the charge. I said, "well the bank has already reversed it, don't respond to the dispute and that will be the end of it," but they would not. I don't know how many people called me up to get that silly number. I don't know what that was all about. I really don't. I texted them, I emailed them, I said, "you know, you did come and you performed a service, so please tell me how much the bill is," because it would be like $100 or something and I was perfectly willing to pay that. Ultimately, Annette, (this is how bad it was: I still remember some of the names), she was very nice and I did finally give in and give her my credit card number. Where upon they reversed most of it, but not all of it, but now I have a $6000 negative on my credit card, which made no since because I already told them that they "already reversed it. Why do you need my number? You don't want to double reverse it." Well, they did it anyway, but not the whole thing. I don't know if the difference was supposed to be the charge to come and do the inspection. I could never get anybody to send me a bill. We had used One Hour once before. We had a rental place in Florida and we felt they did over charge us, but that was all set over there. They got us to do a contract to come and inspect it, so we had them, since we were using them at our rental place, we used them at our own place to inspect before we left. That's how we found them. They seemed to be alright, but with all that was about, I just don't really know. I'm hoping it was just some sort of anomaly and they don't normally do that. In retrospect, it was clear that I think they were trying to scare us. We're in our 60's, we're old people, and "oh my G-d, we're going to come back and there's going to be mold..." We were leaving within a week, and we were saying, "we're going to wait, we're going to wait" and the guys was going on about the mold up the walls. This was a situation where they were they had to bring in a crane because the unit goes on top of a 4 story building. When I called and said, "we're not going to do it" the same night and I got the number saying "okay you cancelled", then somebody else cancelled me to say that they already line up a crane and made a deposit that was non-refundable, so they seemed to be saying, you have to pay us for this. This was the first day, they knew there was a three day rescission, so why would they do such a thing? They were insisting they were doing it for me, as a favor to me, because I was leaving, so they had to line this up. I said, "nobody said anything to me about any crane or deposit". Nobody straight-up asked me to pay for it so I didn't have to refuse to pay for it. So, then I got very antsy when they kept calling me for the credit card number. I thought that they were going to pay for the crane or something. In any event, that was months ago and it seems to be done. I contacted the credit card company and said, "I don't know what they did, they reversed some of it, but not all of it, so the credit card company reversed the reversal, so now we're back to zero, and I still feel like I owe them for the inspection but they wouldn't send me a bill. Send me a bill and I'll pay you! It felt like they were trying to get the most out of us at that time and that's why we called them the very same night to say, "we just are not comfortable with this". I have a very strong tendency to give people the benefit of the doubt. As I said earlier, maybe it was an anomaly, maybe this isn't what they usually do, maybe they really, really were trying to help me. But, then I tried to contact the guy who came to my house, I sent him an email directly. He wouldn't call me back. He wouldn't talk to me. I wasn't accusing him of anything, I was just trying to "what is going on? What is this business about the crane? Please send me a bill," and I never got anything but phone calls to say, "you need to give us your credit card information". I thought they were a little high. I talked to other people and they were like, "how much? Are you kidding?" so, apparently, they are high. They did the inspection, but they did not put in the system. I'm sure the guy was fine. He seemed to know what he was doing. He went on the roof and looked at everything. I'm also assuming he was telling me the truth, which we also don't know. When we get back down there, we will have somebody else come out and do a new inspection to tell us if any of those things were true. At this point in time, I am assuming that they were true. I have a husband who is very ill and they may have played on that. I don't know. He was the one who was gung-ho for this and went right along with "what if this?" And "what if that?" And "what if there's mold?" And "Oh my G-d", and "What if there's mold?" And "We better do this", and I was like, "I want to get some more estimates, I just don't do things this way," and the guy was playing off, I think, my husband's concerns. There are more horrible, viral things that could happen while we were gone. Maybe it will be. Who knows? Maybe we'll get back and see mold growing up my walls. I really don't anticipate any of that. He's a little over the top for me and my husband was buying it and I was trying to keep my husband calm.

Description of Work: We were due for the servicing of our system. Robert was punctual and we found out that our system was about to fail so we talked about replacing it. He also helped us to decide on a system to install in our sunroom to keep it cooler.
