Description of Work: They were hit-or-miss. On one occasion they were great and solved our issue. On another, they showed up, without a coordinated appointment, to one of our locations and gave us an estimate for the work. They charged over a hundred dollars for the estimate even though we didn't agree to it upfront. At another location they simply never showed up to fix an issue that we had spoken to them about. They seem competent and technically sound, but the business-side is why we wouldn't recommend them.

Description of Work: Steve arrived promptly and was courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. Determined low water pressure in my home was due to malfunctioning water softener. Replaced unit. Also cleared blocked drains in master bath vanity. I was very pleased with the service and will continue to use this company in the future when I have any plumbing problems.

Description of Work: Replaced old shower head and broken sink stopper. The young man that came to do the replacements was very courteous and efficient. He was finished in less than 30 minutes. We've used them before and will use them again.

Description of Work: No, I did not use this provider. I had a toilet that was running and wasting water. I called them, I believe on a Friday and the woman told me they could not possible come until the next week. I couldn't wait, so I called another plumber. I was very disappointed because Schleman Plumber had a good reputation. I will never call them again.

Description of Work: so I have leaks running through the foundation of my house. This was the second time I've had showman's out to repair a leak and the plumber Mike recommended arre plumbing of the house. they promised a two to three day job they were done in two and a half days they did an excellent job cleaned up after themselves and were very professional.

Description of Work: Bathtub drain was draining extremely slowly. When taking a shower, bathtub would be 3/4 full of water and take about 20 minutes to drain. Bathroom sink was also draining slowly. Plumber cleared large amount of hair from bathtub drain and used snake on both drains. Total time spent by plumber was 1 hour. After service was completed, both drains were open and draining quickly.

Description of Work: Had problems with toilet drainage. Workman said it required new drain outside. The work was done and bill was 1600 dollars. I stated that was was impossible. They were there for for Twelve hours. They charge 85 dollars per hour.The bill for labor should be 85 times12 or $1020. Total bill should labor plus parts. Workman also said he would need work permit but he never obtained permit. After checking his figures , workman said bill is $1200. Bill was paid with credit card over the phone. Requested statement of bill but never received one.

Description of Work: We had a shower drain that was blocked. I called and within 3 hours, Mike was at my door. He was kind, clean and professional. He assessed the problem and got right to work. Within 30 minutes, the shower was back in working order. Although i have a home warrenty company, I can promise you that I will only use this company in the future- that is how much I think of them!! I thought the price was very fair- oftentimes I feel like some companies raise their fees when they learn which neighborhood we live in. Not the case with Schleman plumbing.

Description of Work: I called Schleman to request an estimate for installation of a utility tub in my parent's garage. My parents had purchased the utility tub probably 6 years ago and got one estimate for the install, then decided it was too pricey, so the tub sat. For Christmas, my gift to them was the installation. I found Schleman on Angie's, and they were able to provide an estimate the following morning. The plumber, Jim called to let me know when he would arrive. He was there on-time, he assessed the situation, and then called me to give me a bottom line price. He was able to start immediately. He was very professional, spoke very highly of Schleman Plumbing (speaks volumes to me vs. being a malcontent employee), was very thorough in explanation of the process and options. Ultimately, he did an outstanding job, was very deserving of an A grade on Angie's List.

+ -1 moreThey were scheduled to come anytime between 1 & 5. Scott arrived, very friendly and professional. I showed him the leak under the kitchen sink. He discovered where it was leaking, turned the nut and was done. He moved on the bathroom with the leaky toilet. He found the leak, which I thought was coming from the supply line. He checked two different things before finding the problem was actually the fill valve needed to be replaced, which he did. After that the cost was $95. Then it was on to the washing machine. He pulled the machine out, snaked machine drain and the drain outside. Outside, he used an electric snake that pulled up a lot of tree roots from the line. He worked at it and worked at it but the roots were too thick. Finally he suggested that I have the septic tank drained and then have the pipes dug up to be cleaned out further. Discounted total cost $224.44. I will try using Root Killer before I have my pipes dug up. That has worked for me in the past.
Description of Work: Scott discovered the garbage disposal mounting nut was loose. So, he tightened it and that fixed the leak in the kitchen. Then he replaced the fill valve on a toilet and that stopped that from leaking. When my washing machine would drain, it caused a toilet to overflow. Scott snaked the machine pipes manually and then the outside drain with and electric auger. Nothing worked. He tried several times to clear the clog and was able to pull up some tree roots which had invaded the pipes. The roots were too thick. Scott finally gave me some suggestions on what to do, i.e. have the septic tank drained then have the pipes dug up and cleaned out. He cleaned up his mess, gave me the bill and left.

+ -1 moreTroy arrived on time, exchanged greetings with the dog and other household members, then went to work. I'm inquisitive and often try do it myself before seeking professional help. I'd already tried clog chemicals, vinegar and baking soda, denture tablets, plunger, and manual snake. Troy showed me how to open the outside vent and determine if the problem was strictly from the tub or involved the sink also. Determining the problem was the tub only, he worked the electric snake from inside while I looked on. I'd hoped to see what broke loose but by the time I got back outside to watch the drain it was already clear. There had been tile work done and it's suspected the contractor didn't cover the drain and mortar caused the problem. Troy also checked plumbing under 2 sinks and advised the rusting I was seeing wouldn't cause a leak in my lifetime (I'm not that old!). It was good to have someone willing to explain things and respond to questions.
Description of Work: Second bathtub drain had been very slow or would not empty at all. Troy checked to see if the toilet and sink worked OK before deciding how to snake. He used an electric snake from inside to clear the obstruction.

THEY HONORED A COUPON BY ANOTHER PLUMBING COMPANY ON ANGIE'S LIST BECAUSE IT SEEMED THE INFORMATION HAD BEEN CROSSED (THOUGH IT MAY HAVE BEEN OUR FAULT). Description of Work: ARTHUR SCHLEMAN PLUMBING HAS BEEN MY PLUMBER FOR YEARS. A FEW MONTHS AGO THEY INSTALLED A NEW WATER HEATER. THEY DID A GREAT, QUICK JOB ON THAT.
