Great! They were punctual for the initial measurements and installation. All the measurements for the windows, and later the sliding glass doors were accurate so installation was uneventful. Also did a great job of cleanup after both jobs. We noticed the difference immediately.
Description of Work: We replaced all of our exterior windows. Liked the product, service and pricing so much we also had our 5 exterior sliding glass doors leading from the sun room to the pool deck replaced

Windows were made and installed without major issue. One got left on a truck at the factory and special trip was needed to get it to us. All 3 sets of sliding glass doors were sent as aluminum instead of vinyl and 2 of them were several inches short. They were jury rigged till new vinyl sets could be made and then installed about a month later. Called 3 days B4 I could get someone to schedule a service appointment for a minor door issue. All their products did great during the storms. I believe some quality control is lacking. Why were original sliding glass doors made from wrong material ? Why were 2 of them several inches too short which necessitated use of 2X4s to close the gap ?

We apologize for any frustrations you may have experienced during your project. Our intentions are always to satisfy our customer and help them understand why there are certain procedures when windows and doors are installed. We are glad you are enjoying your highly energy efficient NewSouth products. Regarding your questions, Florida FPA'S require we buck in the doors with wood for the purpose of proper anchoring. Unfortunately, the order for your job was produced incorrectly and we sent out the wrong door frames initially. We hope that answers your questions and if there is anything else you need in the future please let us know. Thank you.

The men worked all day to complete the job. It took a total of two days to complete the job but they did a good clean job. They even gave me a couple of the tubes of caulking they used during their installation process. After they left, we did the final clean up and and any painting in the room we wanted to do before moving the furniture back into place. I do recommend their windows. They keep our sunroom cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. They did not leak or get damaged during the hurricane Irma.
Description of Work: We had the door replaced and 13 vertical slide windows installed. It took about 2 weeks after the order was placed for the install to take place because they make their own windows. They removed our old aluminum awnings and old vinyl windows. then installed the new door and windows.

I was surprised that the windows were made so quickly. When New South said they were coming to put them in I was very impressed by, not only how quickly the job was completed in one day but also the professionalism of the installers. The office then followed up to make sure that the job was completed well.

Windows are good. Installed in november. They damaged the stucco surrounding it and the integrity of the stucco man was horrible. Instead of the company seeking a different repairman it is now February and they are insisting that we deal with the same Jim who tried to lie and say stucco foam bands that he placed on our house without stucco was a finished product. They are telling us to find someone else and they will only pay a portion of what it will cost to make the repairs which is $2,200. They started at $700, then 1,500 and now saying they will only pay $1,200 toward the repair and we can pay the rest...... SO NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO PAY SEVERAL GRANDS FOR MY WINDOWS BUT THEY ARE REFUSING TO FINd another stucco company to make the repairs and telling me that I MUST EITHER LET THAT SAME JIM WITH POOR INTEGRITY WHO TRIED TO PULL A FAST ONE WHICH THEY AGREE TO... come and finish my house OR thy will pay a portion of the cost and I can make repairs myself.... THIS COMPANY HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Their resolution process if NOT FAIR AT ALL!!!!! windows... I can not complain BUT IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT GOES WRONG YOU HAVE TO FIGHT AND THEY ARE NOT FOR THE CUSTOMER IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. Signed contract in July, windows in by November.... Now February AND STILL NOOOO FAIR RESOLUTION. Forcing me to either use the same stucco guy who tried to pull a fast one because we were not home and thinking we are a young dumb couple who doesn’t know what stucco foam bands should look like.... when in fact we build houses from the ground up. I AM JUST SOOOO APPAULLED/ DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANIES RESOLUTION PROCESS AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Today (1/29/18) is 1 year since we signed the contract to replace all windows and entry doors to our home. We were promised that the project would be completed in 10-12 weeks, but 12 mos later it still isn’t done. We are satisfied with the quality of the windows, but the quality of the work, attention to detail, and level of customer service has been nothing short of pathetic. A few examples: The 8-ft patio door and the track were both made 1” too small but were installed anyway. The 1st attempt at solving the problem was to add an exterior vinyl strip in the interior of our house to fill the gap, which looked awful. After we complained, the interior door frame was modified and drywalled, which looked OK, but the floor molding was not replaced. After a call molding was installed but the molding was shorter than the original by ½” or so and the gap was covered by 1/4 round. The length was cut 1” short and filled in with caulking. It is not exaggerating to say that the result looked like a 4-year-old’s playdough project. We were told it would “look OK after we painted it”. (Not acceptable.) The 3rd attempt to replace the molding looks generally OK, but the molding installed was plastic instead of the original wood. The door track was left with a 1” gap outside. The first attempt to fix it used 1x2 covers that looked like a poor do-it-yourself project. The 2nd attempt (supposed to be a vertical track) added an inch of stucco between the track and the wall. This was then textured in a manner completely different from the rest of the house. I ended up texturing it myself. The front entry door required 3 attempts to install it correctly and the use of excess caulking to make up for a lack of proper finish work and molding. The original interior molding was broken during removal, but reinstalled anyway, with caulking filling the crack. After I complained new molding was installed; it was damaged between purchase and installation, but installed anyway and repaired with caulk. The 3rd attempt at installing the door required removing the molding; in the process, drywall was damaged and filled with caulking and the original wood molding was replaced with fiberboard. I ended up removing the fake wood molding, repairing the drywall, and installing wood molding myself. The side entry door was made backwards (hinges on the right opening in instead of left opening out). The initial approach was to install it anyway but we refused. It took nearly 2 mos to get and install the correct door. The biggest issue was the 2 front arch windows. The 1st windows were made with the wrong top radius, leaving them nearly 1” short of the opening. The gap was filled with caulking. After I pointed out the issue, they wanted to add stucco to the arches to reshape them to match their windows, obviously an unacceptable solution. It took nearly 2 mos of “discussion” with mgmt before they agreed to replace them, but I was told to measure them so they wouldn’t be responsible if they were incorrect the 2nd time. It was nearly an additional 3 mos until the windows were replaced (the size was correct this time) but a window sill was broken in the process. The sill was replaced, but the sunburst inserts in the arch windows are completely different. We were eventually told that they would replace one so they matched, but that has now been 2 mos with no further communication except for calls asking for payment for an incomplete job. We were also assured that we would be eligible for an energy tax credit based on the cost of the project, except that tax law provision expired at the end of 2016. And the installers were to be New South employees, but all turned out to be subcontractors. My overall grade for this project would be an F-, but only because I can’t go lower. I would only recommend NSW if you enjoy being lied to and having your house abused by poor workmanship. Otherwise, stay away.

Awful... Sub contracted another window company to install. Was under impression that "his" team would be coming out. Turns out it was first job the sub contractor did for NewSouth. Mark Hudak is a snake oil salesman. Over promises and under delivers. A half day job ended up taking all day, follow up by installation manager took another half day and then they sent back the hacks who installed door to put on right trim after installing a colonial trim that didn't match the rest of the house. Would NEVER recommend. Tried to ask for discount due to poor work and delays. Mark just came up with lame excuses.

They broke one new window and did not tell me until they left. They did not clean up, they left shards of glass and other materials all over my patio and yard The Salesman, Install Manager, and Service Rep never called back about what happened, despite being "very upset and wanting to make it right" Took 5 weeks to get a replacement window for the window they broke, and I had to call them to schedule it. I have 33 other windows in my house and 3 glass sliders, I will be hiring someone else to finish the rest of the house.

Sales person was late for appointment due to a sales meeting that ran over. He called but I still expect the customer should be the priority. Price quoted at our meeting was incorrect because wrong color frame was quoted. Price was still lowest among competitors but due to these issues and others I won't mention we decided to go with another vendor. Didn't feel the level of professionalism I expected.

The contract was signed Jan. 28 with a promise of completion in 10-12 weeks. Installation did not begin until May 17; it is now August; work is still not complete and they are no longer responding to my calls or emaThe installers broke the molding during the install, but reinstalled it anyway. The side door was ordered wrong. An 8-foot patio door was the wrong size for the opening and they filled in the 1-inch gap with a vinyl piece inside the opening. The track was about an inch short of the wall; after I asked that it be fixed they used a 1x2 to fill in the gap at the top and bottom, leaving a result that looks like a bad do-it-yourself project. Two front arch windows were made with the wrong top radius, leaving a gap of about an inch that the installer filled with caulking. I requested that they be remade to fit the opening (as was promised by the salesman), but their proposed solution is to add drywall and stucco to match their windows. When I stated that this was an unacceptable solution they quit responding to my contacts. Very little about this job has been satisfactory, and I would advise to stay as far away from them as you can.

Not well from the beginning. We signed on for several replacement windows for our home in July 2016. Although the salesman sounded great, we were misled from the start though we did not know it at the time. We were told by the salesman to sign paper for rebate from utility company and put it aside till later. When we tried to get rebate from Duke after installation we were told we were not eligible because our original windows needed to be inspected first. This requirement should have been mentioned strongly on signing day. Also we were told 8 to 12 weeks til install and that we would received updates along the way. At first we did hear but that soon stopped. In September and no news, we started to call to find out what was happening. It took many calls with no return calls before finally we were told that they had some problems with parts, but would have problem fixed and install by first of December. We were assured the problem was corrected. Install date was set and we took everything off the windows inside and out (curtains, blinds, moved furniture etc.) the day before. We called the office the day before and were assured the order was complete and would be installed in one day as promised. They were to be here by 8 -9 AM. At 10 AM we were called and told that they were still loading the truck and would be here by 1 PM. We were also told by the office that what wasn't finished that day, would be completed the next day. (Saturday) As we had the house already pulled apart, although this was not part of the original plan, we accepted. The crew arrived shortly after 1 PM. I inquired as to how much they would get done that day and how much would have to be finished the next day. They said they do not work on Saturday, and besides they did not have all the windows and couldn't finish anyway. I was quite upset and told them not to take anything off the truck, that they were to wait until the entire order was complete before starting the job. Fast forward to January. Windows were installed in one day as promised but with two broken marble window sills. and 3 windows needing to be fixed. Several weeks later the installer came to fix window sills and repair some of the windows and replace one completely - the bottom section of a larger window. The sills were fixed and the windows repaired but the window to be replaced had been made incorrectly- the wrong window - so it would have to be reordered again. At this point the installer discovered that the whole window was installed crooked and had fingerprints between the glass layers and the entire window - top and bottom -needed to be replaced. This was in March. After 7 weeks and not hearing anything we contacted the company to see what was happening and we were told told that the window had never even been ordered in that time. Amazingly the window was able to be made and was installed in June 2017. At that time another window was repaired - wrong weights had been put in when it was made and needed to be replaced as the window would not stay up. It has taken us 11 months to complete our project; we have prepared our home for installation 3 times during that time and 4 times for the one replaced and of course had to repair paint both times; we have rarely gotten a complete answer to our questions and it was difficult to get a return phone call. We were told one explanation after another from one person after another instead of just saying in the beginning there was a problem making the window, this is what the problem is, and we will get it done and then making it happen. For instance if we had been told in December that the windows were not finished completely - the larger windows were not finished when we were told they were - we would have rescheduled ( though it was already 5 months after ordered) and not totally stripped our house inside and out for nothing. Instead of getting new windows that day, we had to just put everything back including Christmas decorations. Many problems could have been avoided with straight forward information instead of telling us misinformation or false promises or not answering our phone messages at all. The bills came right on time after January installation even though we still didn't have a completed project, We would advise anyone looking to purchase replacement windows to beware. This has been the worst experience with any contractor that we have dealt with in our life.

Review of New South windows, Do NOT USE. On 6/1 we decided we needed new windows and sliding doors. I got four quotes ranging from 19-27K. One of the quotes were form new south windows. Their quote was $25,197. I did a lot of research of customer reviews and even though New South had horrible customer service reviews their product was rated the highest in quality. On 6/10 I reached out to the sales rep Jason via E mail to see if he could match a $21,475 estimate from another company. He E mailed me back and stated he could match it. I E mailed Jason back and stated we needed some time to pull out some stocks to pay for the windows and were also going on vacation. I set an appointment with Him for July 3 @ 10:00. On July 3rd Bob (Jason’s manager) Came out to the house and said that Jason was sick and he would finish the contract. Bob re measured all the windows and we walked through the project. At that time Bob took my check for $7,000 and we signed a contract (I have the contract in PDF if needed and Email threads). On July 11th my wife remarked that our check was not cashed yet. I texted Bob and he asked me to call him. Bob stated that they could not do the job for that price and it would be $3700 more to complete the work. I asked Bob about the contract and he stated that there was a clause that estimate was subject to change I also asked Bob why I was not contacted sooner, he had no clear answer. Upon review of the contract there was nothing in any of the print that stated that. 30 days wasted with New South so now I am looking for another window installer.

Job went well. Pleased with sales process (not high pressure) and windows arrived earlier than originally expected. A few communication issues requiring extra follow up but nothing major. Installation took a full 12 hour day but went ok. Had a few issues with the sliding door installation but NewSouth was out within a few days and resolved the issue. They are not the lowest price but they have a quality product worth paying a little extra for. Would recommend them.

Pleased with the quality of the product. Much room for improvement with how the business is run in terms of administration and communication. This business might be growing but it is still run like a small business. The salesman was very informative and knowledgable. He did verbally state our windows would be available in 10-12 weeks, but the contract stated 12-13 weeks. Possible misunderstanding or deception -- we are unsure. Customer service, customer facing, quality checks are missing from this business process. The showroom staff in the Altamonte Springs office have much to learn about pleasing a customer. The installer, although nice, has much to learn about cleaning up after installation. We are still finding shards of glass all over by way of stepping on them or getting one stuck in our hands. There was no follow up by the company in terms of someone qualified to come an check the installation. The company relies on the customer and the country inspection. 13 windows were installed.
