Called to get a quote for a master bath window replacement. Was asked if there were more windows we were looking at replacing. Said yes but the MB was our priority. Was told a sales manager would call back. 2 days later I called again asking why there was no return call? Was told they don't come out for just one window quote, which I get and have no issue with, but that wasn't what was discussed on the first call. (Never did they say why I wasn't told that originally or why no one called back). Rep said I could measure the window and come into the office for a quote. Told her that we had several windows that will need replacing and we were looking for someone to come out ot let us know what this project would look like. After letting the rep know I just received a quote from another company on up to 7 windows she seemed to want nothing more to do with me. She said that they wouldn't be the cheapest quote out there. Never once was price discussed so why the attitude? Glad they never came out for a quote because if this is how they treat potential customers I'd hate to see how they treat those who already signed a contract. For those interested in researching this company further I suggest you read their BBB complaints. While they are an A+ rated company that doesn't mean they have happy customers.

Everything went quite well. The installers were professional and the material came available within the designated time frame. What few problems there were were immediately addressed when pointed out to installers. Price was on the high side but the products were high quality. I would definitely recommend the company.

The sales presentation impressed us sufficiently to commit to purchase even though New South was not the least expensive option. We gathered several options from competing vendors. We believe they have a superior product. The only unfortunate part of the purchase was the wait - 6 months. We started the process in late July 2018 and were installed early January 2019. I do not fault NSW with the wait as they claim both product demand and manufacturing capacity caused the delay, especially after Hurricane Irma hit the area the previous year. Their original estimate was 12-16 weeks, but with the holidays, and our schedule, the final scheduliing exceeded that estimate. That being said, install day was scheduled, the crew showed up on time and installation progressed per plan. The crew was excellent, communicative, and thorough in its performance. Cudos to Ron and Serina for an excellent experience. The final expectation was easy as the city inspector was most complimentary regarding the quality of the inspection and the overall quality of the company. Obviously, NSW has a good reputation with our building inspectors. Finishing touches were completed, and now we have finished our window upgrade in the house (we had installed new sliders 2015). It is too soon to assess the impact on energy savings but others have indicated it can be significant. I am hopeful we will realize savings on home energy rather than paying Duke an increasingly larger percentage of our retirement income.

The salesman came over. He told me if I signed today I would get 48% off. I said he was the first quote and that was not going to happen. So he said I could call his office and reschedule. He would tell them I could not make this apt. He wanted to come back as my last quote so he could give me the best deal. I don't need to waste any more of my time. I never called them back. He was not very helpful. Barley looked at my windows and never gave me any quote.

Buying windows from NewSouth was the worst mistake we have ever made for a home improvement project. We signed an agreement to have 21 windows and 2 sliding glass doors replaced and at the time we were told it would take about 12 - 16 weeks for installation. 14 weeks into the process we had not heard from the company at all so we contacted them and were told they were still in manufacturing and they would call us once they are ready, Again weeks passed with no calls and we contacted them again, same story. August 20th they finally arrived for installation and afterwards 3 of the windows were made incorrectly. We were told they would have them remade and we should hear from someone in a week to two weeks. A month passed with no contact and I am sure you can see the pattern here. Weeks and weeks with no contact and finally on the 22nd of December they showed up with the 3 windows. Once again they were made incorrectly. At this time we asked to speak to someone in charge or we would consider legal action for breach of contract. Two weeks later we did receive a phone call stating they would call us on the 25th of January with the date to be installed. It is now well past that date and we have yet to hear from them. This company is one of the worst I have ever dealt with when it comes to customer service and making things right. For the cost of these you would think they would be more committed to making things right that leaving customers floundering. It has been nearly a year now and we have engaged a lawyer and will be pursuing legal action against this company.

At the beginning of March, 2018 my wife and I signed a contract for all windows to be replaced in our waterfront home with new hurricane-rated impact windows. Since then, *many* problems have arisen. The first issue was timeliness. Although the quoted installation was supposed to be at the end of May, the installation occurred at the end of July, two months late. The installation was performed by subcontractors. Although the installers seem to have done a decent job, we were told that the installation would be done by company personnel, not subs. During the installation, two windows were broken and must be replaced. I do not yet have a firm commitment as to the replacement date. The two sliding glass doors were manufactured by a different window company, Custom Window Systems in Ocala. This violates the terms of the contract and is in direct contrast to their public advertising where they state in their advertising that they manufacture everything. Inspections required by the building permit have not yet been completed. They have not yet even been scheduled. Four days after the installers finished, a production manager called for final payment. I objected since the work was not finished, and inspections not done. I also do not yet have any lien releases from the installer or 3rd-party window company as required by FL Statute 713. I have also not yet received the Final Payment Affidavit that's *also* required by FS 713. Today I received a call from a General Manager. He apologized for the "misunderstanding", but offered little but excuses for the earlier issues and remained firm that I would not get my *required* lien releases until final payment is made. Here is a direct quote from the relevant Florida Statute 713.06. "WARNING! FLORIDA’S CONSTRUCTION LIEN LAW ALLOWS SOME UNPAID CONTRACTORS, SUBCONTRACTORS, AND MATERIAL SUPPLIERS TO FILE LIENS AGAINST YOUR PROPERTY EVEN IF YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT IN FULL. UNDER FLORIDA LAW, YOUR FAILURE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE PAID MAY RESULT IN A LIEN AGAINST YOUR PROPERTY AND YOUR PAYING TWICE. TO AVOID A LIEN AND PAYING TWICE, YOU MUST OBTAIN A WRITTEN RELEASE FROM US EVERY TIME YOU PAY YOUR CONTRACTOR" Fortunately for me I still have the last 1/3 of the contract payment. That $14,000 will be paid when the contractor holds up their end of the deal by finishing their work, providing a written warranty statement for the windows they did not make, completing the final inspection and providing me with the Final Payment Affidavit as required by Florida law.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], We do apologize for any frustration you've experienced, this is the last thing we want for our customers. We understand you have been in contact with Market President, Rich Groff, who has been committed to addressing all of your concerns. As our contract states, NewSouth agrees to measure, manufacture or furnish, and service the contracted products. We proudly stand by our lifetime warranty and are dedicated to resolving any issues you are having with products provided by NewSouth. We are also sorry for the delay. Earlier this year our three separate factories were combined into one large facility; the move, along with the increase in orders after Irma, made our delays even greater. These are not meant as excuses, but rather contributing factors. Again, we are sorry hope you see our efforts to make good on our shortcomings.

They were a little late on their projected date because of the new Factory opening and sent an awesome little gift box apologizing for the delay which really wasn't very long. The inspections went great and there are only a few minor cosmetic things that they are working on right now. I would definitely use them again but I don't need to but I can recommend them.

Excellent work and responsiveness to any issues that occurred. The initial price was high but we negotiated them to the lowest price of our quotes. The install was late due to them moving the factory and having an issue in the new factory. Once they set an install date they were on time. The installers were super neat. The amount of scrap/dust that remained after the install could fit in one hand!. One window broke at install, they ordered a replacement that day. They quoted 2 days for install and were done on day 3. We chose them for price, reputation and quality of there windows versus others. They replaced 1 window on a wall that gets afternoon sun. Once the sun hit the wall was an ad for them. The original window was very hot. Next to that was a door with a double glazed window in it similar to others. It was slightly warm. The 3rd was a new window they put in that morning and it was room temperature. Mad me happy we chose them. A few weeks later we noticed a discoloration in a few obscured glass windows. I sent them pictures and they cam right out. Looked at them and checked all of the other windows. They said lifetime warranty, sorry for the problem and ordered replacements immediately. No argument or issue. That's customer service.

I work at a university in Melbourne and am a veteran. I would NOT recommend purchasing windows or doors from New South. My experience with them has been one disappointment after another from the people I have dealt with, to the actual windows themselves. I am embarrassed to say I spent $50,000 on 22 windows and 2 doors and did not heed the warning signs from negative postings online. My decision to work with them was based on a recommendation of a friend and what appeared to be solid backing by trusted groups. The purchase was a huge mistake and I will be paying for it over the next several years. My dealings with New South quickly spiraled out of control to the point where looking at the windows now makes me sick to my stomach. Key words for my experience are: very poor customer service, average quality product, exaggerated performance, extremely overpriced, poor communications, and no adherence to timelines or schedules. Poor customer service: Mr. Tim Nagel, their Affiliate President for New South Orlando, yelling and insulting me on the phone, then hanging up on me. He was one **** of a ***** from internal email communications I am sure were not for my eyes. New South left me in the dark about my window installation even though they knew there was going to be a 3-4 week delay for delivery. Absolutely no communication from the salesman, office staff, or their factory. The owner of the company is a walking/talking commercial – always having to say how hundreds of happy customers got their windows. That’s wonderful for him, but it did not do me any good. Our sales person advised the windows would need to be registered with the local fire department since they were impact. Well, this is not a true statement. The county inspector (from the fire department) looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked about this. He said that was a ridiculous statement. When a company has to make things up to sell their product…well that should say a lot about their product. Average quality product: I really am not seeing anything special about these windows in comparison to other name brand windows on the market. Because I made such a stink about the delay, it is my firm belief the windows were rushed and quality control was thrown out the window. Their “custom, made to fit” product was not precisely measured by laser, but rather by assuming some of the windows were the same size. The windows arrived in a trailer with no protection between them. Exaggerated performance: Our sales guy made a lot of nice statements about how New South windows are the best/better than all the others. The energy savings we have is not a great as presented; noise reduction is not what was inferred during our consult; the rooms in our house that were hot due to heavy sun exposure, are still very warm. Basically, these totally awesome windows, with all the special patented technology, have performed no better than what I could have obtained through other name brand windows at half the cost. Extremely overpriced: I paid more than double for “factory direct” windows, taking out the middle man to work directly with the manufacturer. I am not sure where my head was, but I must have been in the clouds. I could have gone with another major window manufacturer, paid btwn $25-30,000 for impact windows. Is it worth double the cost for a lifetime guarantee or the **** poor customer service? Not in my opinion. I drank their kool-aid and I was stupid for doing it. Don’t make my foolish mistake. Poor communication: This goes along with the lack of customer service. After I signed the contract, until delivery, I would have heard nothing from the sales guy. The sale was made and he moved on – no follow up or follow through. It was only when I came to him with problems did he jump in. Again, there was absolutely nothing from New South about a 3-4 week delay in delivery. Mr. Nagle felt that was OK because in manufacturing “things happen and I was ignorant about these kinds of things.” Delays are a fact of life, but I sure as **** deserved at least a phone call in the previous 4 months I waited to let me know what was going on. I guess a $50,000 client isn’t special enough. I was also not advised the front door I purchased was through a third party provider, not manufactured by New South. That was a little cheeky. No adherence to timelines or schedules: Every timeline or scheduled appointment was blown with the exception of the initial sales visit. First, the visit by the factory guy to re-measure all the windows was completely missed. The guy just never showed up because it was before Christmas and he left for the holiday. The second is the obvious schedule for the delivery of the windows, which was 4 weeks longer the date range provided. All kinds of wonderful excuses for this. My favorite was when the president of the company said part of the delay was due to Hurricane Irma’s impact on their operation. I signed the contract 2 months after the storm! Third was the actual install, which I was told would be 4-5 days. It turned out to be 6 days because their “best crew” was just a guy and his wife. Finally, New South was supposed to contact me within 48 hours of completion to schedule the final county inspection. Almost 2 weeks later, I finally got a call to get this set up. The evening before the inspection, New South calls me saying the appointment is cancelled because they failed to have current insurance on file with the county! I lost 4 days of work time and had to re-work my schedule to fit around New South. I got tired of hearing people say “sorry” because it just didn’t mean anything. This is my abridged version of what occurred. The full version was over 4 pages long. I have supporting evidence for everything written here as I am sure New South will have a witty response for this review. I know Mr. Nagle has a few choice words for me. I did speak with the president of New South and he is a nice guy and believes in his company. That does not change the fact his company really screwed me as a customer even though I made, what he called, a “large purchase.” I can understand one or two bumps in the road, but this journey was through a minefield.

Response from NewSouth Window Solutions, LLC
Dear [Member Name Removed], No witty response from NewSouth, just profound disappointment that we didn't do better for you and your project. Our team, both local and corporate, are very aware of our shortcomings in relation to this job. We at NewSouth strive to ensure the highest level of communication and customer service and we missed the mark. Earlier this year our three separate factories were combined into one large facility; the move, along with the increase in orders after Irma, made our delays even greater. These are not excuses for our unacceptable performance, but rather factors, that in addition to our mistakes, created the perfect storm - not [Member Name Removed] NewSouth shining moment. In regards to quality, we're honestly surprised to hear that you disagree with the vast majority of our customers and did not find the quality of our products to be superior. Additionally, we've received [Member Name Removed] lot of positive feedback about customers' interactions with Tim and are sorry to hear that your experience was not the same. Lastly, it is our understanding that many local fire departments appreciate being notified of homes installed with impact windows, as they can affect firefighters efforts to do their job. Susan Tamme, [Member Name Removed] district chief with Tampa Fire Rescue, authored an informative article [Hyperlink Removed] that explains just how impact windows can affect [Member Name Removed] firefighter's process for entering or exiting [Member Name Removed] building. While there is no official registration protocol, we at NewSouth are committed to our customer's safety and feel that it's in each customer's best interest to have their local fire department notified in case of emergency. But ultimately, it's the local fire department's discretion to utilize this information according to their protocol. Again, we do apologize and hope you see our efforts in trying to make good with you and redeem ourselves. We will strive to do better in any future interactions, so please do not hesitate to contact us should any issues arise later down the road, as we stand by our lifetime warranty promise.

In August 18, 2017 I contracted NewSouth Windows to install windows and doors in my residence. The contract stated that would complete the project between 12 and 14 weeks. We paid 1/3 of the project cost with the order. 14 weeks and three days later NewSouth shows up to install and collect my second installment. A couple days after that is when I realized “Houston there’s a problem”. Everything went belly up! NewSouth informed that they really didn’t have all the windows and doors and that they were still in backorder. However partially installed windows were exposed for month without sealing or fixing the stucco around them. Now it’s past Thanksgiving and the Holiday season. I had to wait again until NewSouth hired a sub-contractor to do the stucco job. The contractor showed up sporadically to work on my windows even in Holidays. He destroyed parts of my lawn, plants and grounds. He even had the audacity to make stupid remark to my neighbor who called him out for the mess on his property not cleaning. Then something happened and he blew up one of my new picture windows. It’s now a NEW YEAR, 20 weeks and 5 days and still the job is not complete. NSW project manager shows up in my house after multiple calls and we both produce a 9 item punch list. 1. Picture window with 8/8 grids Mulled ½ half-moon window over front door. 2. Windows 4 & 6 missing grids top and bottom. 3. Stucco around loft windows need to be removed from shingles. 4. Picture window 9 cracked, needs reglaze. 5. Master BR (wrong tint). 6. Master bath #19 cracked re-glaze. 7. Caulk windows 25 & 26 inside and outside (screens missing). 8. Window #28 needs grids top and bottom. These are just examples of us going back and forth discovering new things and them coming sporadically to fix others. By this time, I have involved New South Windows top management including the President, CEO, VP and operations manager. Top management of this Company seems not to have power or influence through their organization. Their emails and request to employees (which I have) went nowhere. It’s now April 3rd or 32 weeks and 3 days after signing the contract with NewSouth Windows. Although the punch list is NOT complete, NSW schedules for inspection. Needless to say NewSouth Windows did NOT pass inspection. The inspector found at least 54 missing anchor bolts throughout the entire house. A few days later NSW shows up and installs 56 anchor bolts that were missing. (these are supposed to be hurricane proof installations) Don’t know how with 56 missing anchor bolts. On April 18 they successfully passed inspection. That doesn’t mean that they have completed the job. No, no no… New and old punch list items were still pending. We continued to go back and forth until June 25, 2018 or 311, 44 weeks and three days since we signed the contract I paid New South Windows the final payment. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone. This has been the most frustrating and cumbersome home project I have ever had.

Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], We apologize for the frustration and the incidents that occurred on your project and appreciate you sharing these issues. Our performance on your project was unacceptable and outside of the norm for NewSouth. The stucco repairman behaved in a way that is contrary to our standards, and although NewSouth does not employ him, we expect the same quality of work from our contractors as we do our traditional employees. We want to ensure you that your remarks have been shared with our management team and will be used to improve our installation and service team training. Once again, we are sorry for the incidents that occurred during your project, but we do hope that you are enjoying the performance of your new windows and doors now that the project is complete. You do have a lifetime warranty, and we will strive to do better if you should need us in the future. Thank you.

Sales rep arrived. He spent about an hour at my house. He measured the windows. He wanted to close the sale on the spot. I told him I was getting 3 competitive quotes. He said he would send a quote. He never did. These guys are like timeshare salesman.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], We want to apologize for any misunderstanding there may have been. Because our price discounts are volume based, we show a packaged price to avoid confusion, and you should have been given a quote for the total cost of the job during the initial presentation. We are sorry if you were expecting a line by line quote from our sales representative after the fact. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We will use it to help improve our sales team training.

The installation went very well. The crew was very nice, professional, and cleaned up their work areas. After the installation was complete we found damage (a hole about 1" in diameter) to the top window frame. A screen was torn, which the installers told us. Our existing French front door and sidelight had plantation shutters that were installed last year. When we initially met with the sales rep we asked if the replacement door and sidelight would have the same glass dimensions as the existing one so that the shutters would work on both. He said that the person that comes out to verify the measurements would be able to answer that question, which he was not. That employee said he would check with someone at the plant and get back with us. After not hearing back we called 3 times before being told that they were the same dimensions. The glass in both were not the same size, and the plantation shutters do not fit. We love the door and windows as they are both beautiful and function very well.

Couldn't buy the windows and put them in myself. Which I have done for over 40 years now! Installers were professional but didn't do anything I wouldn't of done myself... that was my only disappointment. I still need more windows but they're so expensive I don't have to wait for the rest. but I will buy again!
