Hillsborough Lock and Key

We needed to re-key after a lengthy construction period. Telephone call was courteous and informative, as was the website which included Angie's List reference. Technician was very polite and professional. Overall, it was a great experience.

Technician arrived on time, solved problem quickly charged me a reasonable amount was pleasant & courteous.

When I called, Cathy promptly gave me quotes for replacing or repairing the lock, and told me the technician would repair if possible. Made an appointment for the next day, and the technician arrived on time and was able to repair the lock by replacing the bolt. Fast, friendly, efficient service.

Before entering my home, the locksmith kindly introduced himself and courteously asked me to describe and/or tell him what problem I was having. I immediately told him that I needed to have my backdoor locks keyed the same as the rest of my home. I showed him to the backdoor to let him see what was going on. He asked for the existing key that I wanted the lock to be keyed to and began to unscrew the existing locks while explaining what he was doing, I was thrilled to see just how quickly he was able to take the key with the locks to his truck do whatever had to be done to them (keying) and within what seem to have been less than 30mins. return them , clean and oil them and reset. The pricing was exactly what I had been by his company. Once again, I would definitely call Hillsborough Lock and Key company again.

When i called they lady was very friendly and informed about their products. She gave me an estimate over the phone and i told them i needed it done asap and she had no problem with it. The locksmith was at my house in less then an hour with all my locks i inquired and he was very friendly. He got right to work and was done in no time. When it came time to pay i inspected his work and there was no evidence that he was even their, I loved it. I would diffently use their services again and highly recommand them.

I left my house keys in a rental car when we turned it in. They were not turned into lost and found. I fear that someone had access to our address and has possession of our keys. Hillsborough Locksmith was prompt, courteous, and professional. They re-keyed our the locks in our house. I would use them again.

The schedule appointment was easy to made, and a technician guy came on time. He was here probably only 10 min to do the job. The new set of key I got was little cheap quality keys so for that I felt bit expensive but it works.

Service was great. I was real concerned that some locksmith would try to sell me a complete set of new deadbolts or perhaps even a whole new front door to fix this problem. I knew it was something that could be fixed with a Dremel tool and grinding attachment, but given that this is a rental home that is located far from my residence, I was unable to handle this one myself. I appreciate the honesty and integrity Hillsborough Lock and Key showed me.

It was a very satisfactory experience dealing with this company. Richard, who came to give the estimate, was prompt, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with. When he returned to install the locks, he arrived at the appointed time and had everything he needed to complete the job in a very thorough and professional manner. The price was exactly as we agreed upon at the time of the estimate.

The locksmith arrived on time, changed the lock, and was able to give me 5 keys. As he didn't know if I needed a silver or gold lock, he had both with him so that he would not have to wait while he went back to the store. I received a card with the code necessary to get additional keys. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with his level of service.

Tech arrived on time with the appropriate tools. Finished in about an hour. Only negative was that when he drilled through the door to affix new fixture, the wood on the inside of the door splintered and now needs filled and repainted.

An appointment was set for me as soon as I called and the technician arrived not only on time but a couple minutes early. He was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what he would be doing and also gave me some insight about my existing lock and the potential lock I'm planning for an outside fence. The tech was polite, helpful and quick to complete his work. My only complaint would be that when I called the office, I was told that there was a per lock charge of $15 - so I'm thinking, 4 doors = $60. Obviously I don't know much about "locks" because apparently, there can be more than one tumbler in each apparatus and in my case, there were 2-3 in each door. It could be this is why their Angie's List page instructs the caller to contact Cathy Vanorden. I can only assume that she realizes the uninitiated like me would need this clearly explained. The price, while perhaps not out of line with other locksmiths, was a bit of a shock when I received it.

Appt. was made within a day or two. They were on time, polite and professional. Completed the job without difficulty and as a favor tightened up a false door knob and plate opposite from the one being rekeyed at no additional charge.

I was extremely pleased that the company honored the free estimate promise. I would definitely call this company first if I needed a locksmith in the future.

Nothing to it. I called, they fit me in for the next day. He showed up on time and smiling. Did what I asked in about an hour and that was that. very nice, professional !!!

They were very professional and I was able to get an appointment for the following day. I was also informed of a coupon I could print out for the visit. Locksmith was late, but I was informed ahead of time they were running behind schedule, so it came as no surprise.

They did the work on the weekend. They were very responsive to the initial phone call. The service tech arrived approximately around the time they said he would. He was very courteous and friendly, and the experience went pretty smoothly. I thought the price was fair.

Great transaction. Called in the late morning and they had a locksmith at my site by 4pm. The work was done quickly at a very good price.

My mother had a break in and I called them out to change all the locks. The price was really high compared to the other companies I called. They came out the next day to do the job and he came out early. It made us feel safer knowing all the locks were changed.
