Responsive in making an appointment, turned up on time, quick, efficient and courteous. Fixed the problem - it's nice to run a load of washing without it backing up over the floor! My only complaint was the price, which seemed quite steep and included a $39 truck charge, Presumably, this wouldn't have been incurred if he'd used some other form of transport?

During our yearly AC maintenance on Saturday our AC guy notified me of a puddle under our house, so on Monday morning I called Grable Plumbing to see if I could schedule someone to come out and take a look at what might be going on. There was an odor so it was suspected a septic problem. I was scheduled an appointment the same day for later in the afternoon. The gentleman arrived a little later than was scheduled but those things happen but soon after he arrived he detected what the problem was and went right at fixing it. A septic line that originally went to a bathroom that was no longer there had come apart and he quickly capped it and was finished. I am happy that it was not anything more severe and utilized the $30 service call coupon through Angie's List to assist with this unexpected expense. I will certainly call Grable again if I have any plumbing issues.
Description of Work: Detected where the puddle was originating and capped the pipe since it was no longer needed.

Water heater went out on a Sunday. I called first thing on Monday, the 20th. The service technician arrived as scheduled that afternoon. He changed the valve, thinking that might solve the problem, but ultimately the water heater had to be replaced. The service technician, Chris Jean, was very professional, personable and neat. He scrambled to return to the shop to get a replacement water heater before the shop closed so that it could be replaced that evening and not the next day, leaving us without hot water another night. He stayed until after 7 pm assuring the job was done properly and took his time cleaning up and explaining what he had done. Comparatively, Grable is probably on the higher end of the price range for a water heater, but the experience with the young man Chris Jean who did the job was top notch.

We noticed water downstairs on the powderroom wall, and we cut out a piece of drywall to see it was comming from the vent pipe from the upstairs bath. which had a leaking valve. They sent Larry out on a Saturday, and he fixed everything in 2.5 hours, the price was very good, back in Virginia it would be 3 times more. I was very pleased.
Description of Work: replaced valve and shower trim, spout in tub,and tub drain. He needed to open drywall to get to the valve he was very neat and professional. We had Larry it was a emergency, and he was here on a Saturday with in a few hours, but on time. I thought considering the price of the supplies it was a bargain. Thank you Angies List!

First of all, I live in Valrico. When a pipe within a wall developed a pinhole leak which leaked all night, resulting in some soggy drywall and flooring, I immediately checked out Angie's List. Our plumber, Chris, was punctual and courteous. He turned the water back on and got down on his hands and knees to listen to where the water seemed to be coming from in the wall. He pinpointed it exactly and was able to cut out a piece of soggy drywall which revealed the leaking pipe. He repaired the pipe, and cleaned up any debris. It was recommended that the hole remain open for air circulation until the dampness resolves. The work is warranted, and with a $30 off coupon, the entire cost was only $262! I was very relieved that my house did not need to be completely repiped, as a dishonest plumber could have easily tried to make it seem like I would need more expensive, and extensive work done. I will definitely use Gable Plumbing again. They are very honest, I am very satisfied, and I highly recommend them.

Company appears to be highly professional and everyone I talked with were very personable, friendly and helpful. The price of ANY plumbing work done by ANY plumbing company in the Tampa area is probably going to seem too high to me; but, I just cannot justify paying as much as was charged on this work order (even though it may be the average charge for the type of work I needed to have performed). The damage to my incoming outside water line was done by me (cut into the line while digging through countless tree roots to attempt repairs to the landscaping water line which was immediately adjacent to the main incoming line) and the work had to be done immediately to allow us to have water service. I, therefore, agreed to the service and everything appears to be working correctly at this time. I would use this company again if I had the opportunity to negotiate a more reasonable (subjective, I know) price.
Description of Work: Repair 2 small cuts to incoming outside water line. Access to the broken area was already done by me prior to the company's arrival. Repairs consisted of cutting 1 inch water line in two places and installing new connectors (which were considered "temporary" and not eligible for warranty beyond 10 days).

Here I was on a Sunday afternoon. I had bought a beautiful vanity for the downstairs bath, and I decided to tear out the old one. I was confronted with pipes that extended thru the wood back of the old vanity, and when I started to use a wrench to take the cold water supply valve off - you guessed it - it broke off IN THE WALL (luckily I had the house water off :-). I literally had just become an Angie's List member this morning, looking at tree cutters, so as I lay there half inside the old vanity I call out to my wife to get on Angie's List. She used it in minutes to find this great plumber. After she talked with the office staff, Tony the plumber called me back. He was going to one location before me, but was able to give me an ETA of about an hour. He showed up on time, quickly assessed the situation and was terrific. It turned out that not only had I broken the cold water pipe in the wall, I also had not anticipated the tiny amount of space available for the water and drain lines, due to the "fantastic" design of the new vanity. Tony measured the distances and showed me how I really needed the broken off line moved over to the left about 6 inches, plus the drain line as well. I watched as he neatly and carefully cut the drywall and stud and pipes, and prepared and glued the PVC drain and the CPVC water lines. Being a DIY person, I learned a lot from him as he showed me exactly what he was doing. I was not aware that my house water, hot and cold, has CPVC, so even if I had been able to get the elbow and some pipe, and reglued the original break myself (as I had thought of doing after we originally called them), I would not have known the difference and used my PVC glue - that could have resulted in even bigger disaster. Tony had the whole thing redone, tested, and he gave me tips for how to complete the final hookup myself once I paint and fix the wall. I could not have been happier. I was very impressed that he even filled out and handed me a 1 year warranty for the work he did today. I was super happy when he deducted the $30 coupon my wife printed from Angie's List! Tony also told me to feel free to call them and they always will come out and give a free estimate on any future projects. I learned my lesson... I will call them again when I do the upstairs bathroom vanity. BTW this all happened in a household with 4 children, everyone starting back to school and college tomorrow - we were happy to have water back on so quickly.
Description of Work: Repair of cold water supply pipe in the wall behind old vanity. Repositioned hot, cold, and drain lines so that they will line up correctly for the new vanity I was trying to install in the first place.

Overall, the bathrooms have been completed to our satisfaction but with many headaches along the way. For the master bathroom shower, the installation went smoothly. The person they sent out was efficient, clean, and left the shower working perfectly without any issues. When it came to the hall bath, a different person was sent out and while he was extremely nice, we had many issues. He did manage to install what seemed to be a difficult tub (we ordered it from Home Depot to the exact specifications as our old tub to avoid any problems in installation, but after it was being installed we learned it required a special kit which set us back another week). When he came back to install it, however, he tested the water while our brand new light fixture was inside it! We had left some supplies in the tub, including the light fixture, as we were painting the bathroom. When he installed our new sink, there wasn't enough space in the new cabinet for the pipes, so he very roughly cut a hole in the shelving. Everything was left pretty messy. Overtime, the piping did leak, soaking our cabinet, new walls and floor. We called Grable back, asked for a different person to come fix it and the person they sent did repair it well and cleaned up well. I do think they tried to remedy the problems quickly, which is important to us.
Description of Work: Grable installed our brand new shower start to finish on a master bath remodel, and about a month later a complete tub remodel for our hall bath. They also installed both our new toilets and a sink.

After getting four estimates, I chose Grable because in giving the estimate and describing how he would do the job, Tony seemed like he really knew what he was doing. He was prompt and worked efficiently. I was concerned with having someone knock a hole in my house, but luckily an indoor shower was located on the outside wall, and it was easy to pop through and add the outside plumbing to the existing indoor plumbing. I trusted the plumber to do the job right and it worked out just fine. I will definitely request Tony again for any plumbing work I have done.
Description of Work: Installed a shower faucet and nozzle on an outside wall of my house. This was a new installation and required knocking a hole through the concrete wall from an indoor shower and plumbing a new faucet control. Also replaced the shower faucet and nozzle in the indoor shower. Also took out the vanity in another bathroom and capped off the plumbing in preparation for renovations. (Note: The work required repairing the concrete and stucco around the new faucet installation; Grable recommended someone who did the repair for $75. I painted over the patch myself.)

Our water pressure has been almost nonexistent since we moved into our home. To put it mildly- we were unable to shower and run any other water in the house at the same time, and if someone accidentally flushed the toilet while one of us were in the shower? Just a trickle of water for the next few minutes while the tank fills again. Talk about aggravating! Anyways, we contacted Grable Plumbing and they came out promptly to check out the situation and give us an estimate. We had also gathered estimates from 2 other companies and they were all in the same price range. We chose to go with Grable because they were prompt, professional and very thorough. We were completely satisfied with their work- they were able to come out and start a few days later and completed the re-piping work within a day and they also arranged for the city to come out and inspect the work when it was finished. Their warranty on their parts and labor was excellent- we will definitely use them again for any future plumbing work we need done in our home. Thanks again!

James arrived punctually on the specified date. I indicated that after much research, we had picked out a particular Delta kitchen faucet and under-sink water filtration system; that we were looking for an estimate to have these items professionally installed. He proceeded to tell me how inferior our chosen products were to those his company could supply even though I pointed out to him that these were brand name products that had a good reputation in the plumbing industry. When I asked him for pricing on comparable items his company handled, he came back with a faucet that was over $400, almost DOUBLE the price of the one we had selected. Pricing on the water filtration system was similarly inflated. Meanwhile, the estimate to install our chosen items came to $441.52! However, if we were to sign up for a service agreement with his company, we would get a "discount" so that the total would be $382.25. (Plus he would waive the $39.00 service agreement price because we were Angie's List clients.) Even with the $25.00 Angie's List coupon we could apply to this job, the total would still have been $357.25, well in excess what we were willing to pay. When I pointed out to James how high the price was, he had no explanation except to say that his company "may not be the cheapest, but was the best". Even though the estimate was free, I declined to have the work done by Grable. Furthermore, based on the above experience we will not be considering them in the future.

I had a problem with low water pressure in the hot water in my kitchen faucet. I called another plumber company; they came down, took the faucet apart, couldn't find the problem, said it was probably in a part of the faucet that couldn't be fixed and I would need another faucet, put the faucet back together and charged me 126 dollars, saying they would be happy to return and replace the faucet when I bought another one. One day later, I had low water pressure in my bathroom faucet. I thought I had a possible water pipe break and decided to, this time, choose an angie's list plumber. I called Grable. They sent Tony the very same day - he fixed both faucets (the bathroom was just the aerater clogged, coincidentally!), and he found a small screen in the hose of the hot water side of the kitchen faucet that was clogged and fixed that too. Needless to say, I was thrilled. Paying to fix a problem is definitely better than paying and not getting results. Thank you Tony, thank you Grable. I will call this company from now on.

I was delighted with the quality of the service. This was a situation in which it would have been very easy for the plumber to run up the bill. It involved repairing a buried, badly corroded galvanized pipe that ran close to our home's foudation. I also was not able to watch the repairs and therefore had to rely on the plumber. He completed the repair in less time and for less expense than he originally estimated. He also did a great job of installing a kitchen faucet. As a bonus, he showed me how to repair a stuborn toilet which wasn't flushing properly with a simple (no cost) repair.

Everything was handled as stated in conversation with dispatcher earlier in day. Said someone would be there between 2-6 and actually showed up at 1:45. Did everything had been asked to do and as I said above, cleaned up everything when finished.
Description of Work: Had called to come to do annual check for pipe leakage. Just before arriving, I put something in sink that clogged it. (good timing onmy part, if I had to do it). He came in, cleared the blockage which was actually in a lead off pipe and not the main and checked everything as originally requested. Since the clog was actually due to a buildup further in the lines, he had to go under the sink into the pipes as well as "snake" on the roof. Explained to me what was going to have to be done, the extra costs involved as well as what may have to be done if he was not able to break the clog. He removed everything from unfer the sink, fixed the problem and put everyting back. Cleaned floor where it was messed from doing the work.

So when he returned, he did everything to a point and I was shocked at the amount of time he took completing this. This gave me the impression that he was doing the job as near to perfect as possible and making sure the job was done right the first time, the best way possible. This was not what I expected, but I loved it. For my past customers and current patients, I do and did the same thing by taking my time and doing my absolute best for those I was serving in various fields. There are few of those type of workers left in the world. When he was completed, he showed and explained to me everything and it's purpose, gave me the warranty book, and I signed off on the work order. We wrapped up by signing me up for the annual service plan and explained all the benefits I would receive with the plan. He left the new water heater and all it's surroundings just as they were, nice and clean, put all of his equipment away, and came back in to make sure the water heater had the air out and was putting out the hot water (which is was) and I complimented not only his work but his courtesy and respect he showed to both me and my home. They're a wonderful company and I would recommend and have recommend Grable's Plumbing to anyone who mentions a plumbing problem/concern.
Description of Work: I was in need of a new water heater. My current water heater was the initial one that came with the house so it was about 15+ years old and the manufacturer was Rheem. Now, I am pretty well educated with regards to water heaters and I knew that I wanted another Rheem. At Home Depot, they carry a product manufactured by Rheem so I was going to get that one. Well he knew his stuff and I could tell right away by the suggestions he was making: the upgrades and work to be done to bring it up to code, and his agreement with me regarding my choice of Rheem. He then informed me that his company only installs Rheem and it would be cheaper for us to have him bring out our new water heater, replace our old water heater, and haul it away. Then we would no longer have to worry about getting it, hauling out, and disposing of the old one, and so forth. Not to mention, the difference in cost between buying it to have there water heater installed was only about 40 dollars and it would have cost us that much for gas and the disposal. He also explained everything that he would be doing with the replacement, the warranty information, and his company's satisfaction guarantee and service plan. With no pressure from him, I got 3 other bids and none of them were as impressive as Grables's. Most importantly was the sincerity, courtesy, and overall "true customer satisfaction" that not only James, the installer, exhibited, but the office staff as well.
